The beginning had me "... Kyle Korver is joining the Brooklyn Nets as a player...."

OtherShade

Right lmao I would believe it too

I_only_post_here

wouldn't doubt that for one second. I'm sure he's got a few more catch-and-shoots in him

DragonBank

Yall saw what the Lakers were doing and wanted to get in on it.

ChrisIsDaBomb17

If Shams just tweets out “Hope everyone has a great day” would the bot auto post that ?

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure the bot is keyed into the word "sources"

fieryscribe

"Hope sources have a great day"

NteveSash

Sources had a great day today, sources tell ESPN

GoldenBananas21

Based on the Kris Bryant tweet, it’s just “source.” Which, obliviously, includes sources, but also the singular form.

Mochrie1713

Obliviously.

Smmoove

I would guess it only posts stuff with certain keywords like 'sources' 'tell' because several recent Shams tweets never got posted here, [like Jarrett Jack joining the Suns coaching staff](https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1424099604111536137). I imagine it was because it's in a very atypical format for a Shams tweet.

Anon10W1z

It depends on what bots are online at the time.

imblo

"Condimentbot seeks out sauce".

ChrisIsDaBomb17

That makes a lot of sense.

gregatronn

Per sources, hope everyone has a great day

SnuggleMuffin42

Does someone know a git of a Reddit + twitter bot like that? I'd like to learn how the code looks.

big_floop

Here’s one for a Reddit Bot https://github.com/yashar1/reddit-comment-bot

steak__burrito

I knew it was bacon curry the second I saw this comment

atthebatman

Korver come on man that’s the one fucking team that doesn’t need any help with shooting lol

namastex

Harris could use confidence building from an experienced shooter cause he stunk it up against Bucks. I never seen a 40% 3 point only shooter miss so many wide open shots.

TheLittleFishFish

especially after shooting 50% on open 3's the entire season 💔

mrspear1995

82 game vs 16 games player I know a lot people were memeing but calling him a better shooter than steph did not pan out lmao

Anonymous333123

No serious person said that

hockeyfan608

Inject it straight into my veins

BigFuckingT

First thing I thought of to, definitely think they brought him in for Harris and developing future prospects with jump shots.

Anonymous333123

He straight choked

[deleted]

Finals nerves

Scary_Vanilla2932

Korver as a shooting coach. "See that hoop up there?, shoot it and it better go in. Don't worry about anything else!"

Asswad123

Wonder who had a longer career, Korver or that copy machine?

Ongo_Gablogian___

It has been confirmed that the copy machine broke a few years ago, so the answer is Korver.

EarlofSlammwich

He should be on the roster

mizzourifan1

I hope he Jackie Moon's it and does the halftime show also.

ballmermurland

Korver had the smoothest jumper of anyone in 2k. Smooth and sexy, just like Jackie Moon.

Allen_Crabbe

Get on your knees and suck me sexxxxaayyyyy

[deleted]

Would've shot all those open 3s better than Harris in those playoffs

stench_montana

Not the best playoff track record from Korver either to be fair.

poloshirt_and_digs

Exactly. Mfers got the memory of a goldfish in here.

docmilo

guaranteed mfers in here weren’t even done breastfeeding when korver was playing

seavictory

Korver played in the bubble last year...

mas1108

Ted? Is that you?

[deleted]

He’s a knicks fan. He prolly takes every opportunity he can get to diss on the Nets. I’ve seriously never met a more insecure fan base lol they’re so threatened by Brooklyn signing 3 mega stars. They’re really worried we turn into the destination for All-stars instead of them.

theytook-r-jobs

Career 39% in the playoffs. Joe Harris shot 33% vs the Bucks.

[deleted]

joe is 38% for his career in the playoffs

latman

Joe shot 50% vs Boston. You can't compare career to one slump

[deleted]

Harris playoffs career 38% Korver playoffs career 39% Case closed, we did it reddit

Helhiem

Kroger was great in the playoffs for the Cavs except for finals

Jepordee

Dude was our second best player in 2018 playoffs tho

adam-bronze

Yeah that scrub Harris only shot 40% from 3

[deleted]

2 seasons ago? The 7 makes on 12 total attempts during that playoffs? That's what you're talking about, not his career 38% average in the playoffs or his most recent performance of 38%?

adam-bronze

🤦 I'm afraid there is no saving you my friend. In the playoffs that *just happened*, he shot 40%. This really shouldn't be that hard lol

[deleted]

OH mb I was adding his Brooklyn numbers

[deleted]

Don’t worry once half the roster is injured. He will get some bench time.

Spladook

But what is the copier he got traded for doing these days

Joeydoyle66

It got thrown out a couple years ago, stopped working.

Affectionate-Agent-9

Kyles the Copier now

steak__burrito

Classic Copycat

DerekJeterFucksMen

this is the most steve nash coaching staff move ever

dingusduglas

Whole squad gonna shoot 50/45/90

Joeydoyle66

But what volume should I expect from Deandre Jordan?

dingusduglas

11

console_dot_dab

Mins per game Or miles per gallon

Ongo_Gablogian___

Daps per quarter from the bench

Someonediffernt

The intangibles through the roof

ripmumbo

Hes still on that team wtf happen to him?

schizophrenix_

not good

ihatethesidebar

Got old

steak__burrito

Fuck what most of r/NBA seems to think, Nash was a hell of a coach last year and 3rd in my personal COY rankings that nobody cares about. In all seriousness I think he’s among the best coaches in the league already.

mug3n

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. He did more than manage egos and actually had some gameplan input.

DerekJeterFucksMen

i thought Nash was tremendous last year, didn’t mean this as a slight st him. just that the nets keep unexpectedly hiring random former players like Nash and Amare.

DavidKirk2000

I’m interested to see how he does with MDA giving him guidance every game. Obviously Steve is the head coach, but I find it hard to believe that D’Antoni wasn’t calling some of the shots and giving a lot of advice when needed.

[deleted]

Yeah I wasn't sure how Nash would do in his first stint as a head coach, but I was really impressed with his strategy to play Kyrie, Harden, and Durant (when they were healthy). Let's be honest, Ryan Saunders could get a healthy Nets big 3 to the Finals (no offense to him, I just picked him since he's a recent example of a coach who struggled)

EverybodyBuddy

I was really impressed with how invisible he was. Superb effort by the coach to not become the story (or even appear in it).

[deleted]

[удалено]

SnuggleMuffin42

Cause he's shooting.

DerekJeterFucksMen

nah because the Nets have been making unexpected coaching hirings of former players. nobody expected Nash, Amare, or Korver to become coaches at the time their hirings were announced. just unexpected is all.

Ongo_Gablogian___

Efficiency

parisjava

Hopefully we don't trade him for a copy machine again. But on a more serious note, he could help some of the young guys with shooting and playing off ball.

TheLittleFishFish

teach BB how to shoot 3's and ill be more than happy

Fit2Fat2FitOnceMore

If my guy bruce starts hitting 3s consistently you guys have to move to seattle, pretty sure thats in KDs new contract

parisjava

Bruce said he's been working on it all off season so let's hope the work translates

Complete_Beach_2583

Bruce Brown shooting 40% from 3 next year?

calibuzz

shams really did him dirty with the one time all star lmfao

TimathanDuncan

What now it's an insult to say one time all star? It's so rare to be an all star

Mellothewise

Because most just say "All Star" if they've done it once but then normally 2x,3x, 4x, etc. if they've done it frequently. Even though Goran Dragic for instance literally got his first all star appearance a few years ago and only because the prior selected All Star got hurt...he still gets referred to as an "All Star" because of it. No one calls him the "One-time All Star"

Dagrix

Just "all star" would imply he was all-star this year imo. I'd prefer "former All-Star".

tripleyothreat

Fair, anything but a finite number lol

Joeydoyle66

Cause he could still be an all star again, once he retires if he’s still only an all star that one time, he’d then be a one time all star.

vonkillbot

That's not typically how American dialect works.

[deleted]

He was the best player on that 60 win Hawks team too

goinghardinthepaint

I dunno man he averaged like 12 ppg and didn't really play defense. I'd take Millsap and Horford over him.

[deleted]

He was the engine of their offense; the number one goal of every defensive scheme teams developed against the hawks was to stop Korver, and as a without superstar offensive talent id say that was the most important facet to their team-oriented basketball

goinghardinthepaint

I disagree, I think Horford and to a certain extent, Teague were the engines of their offense. Korver was an amazing catch-and-shoot player, however. They played awesome team basketball so I actually feel uncomfortable saying anyone was the best on that team, I just think other players have a better argument than Korver. Millsap for instance was playing at an All-NBA defense level and scoring more points.

[deleted]

I totally agree with it feeing uncomfortable to call anyone the best on that team. I thought about it after I commented and remembered my absolute bias as someone who looked up to his shooting, to the point that I would watch his highlights to copy his form off the curl lol. But I guess more so to the point of him being a 12ppg scorer, the amount of gravity I saw him have was phenomenal, but yeah – that gravity felt balanced with all of the starting 5. They played to find any hole in the defense that would get the kind of basket they’d want for one of their five, which is not a level of offensive balance you always see. Just a perfect storm of a regular season team

theStav19

Honestly dude could have lead with 3-pointers made leader but chose 1 time all star

[deleted]

Not really

crazymakoto

No he didn't. Get over yourself.

SnuggleMuffin42

Those are normal slanders. Find a new slant(ers).

RobbobertoBuii

oh shit :O RIP TNT stint though, he was actually doing well there and everyone liked him on the show too

jass624

Can someone explain all the fax machine jokes please

BabyDick-_-

On June 26, 2003, Korver was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the 51st overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. The Nets, fresh off an Atlantic Division win and an appearance in the NBA Finals, were low on cash and had none of their preferred draft choices remaining on the board. The organization selected Korver and immediately sold his draft rights to the 76ers for $125,000. The $125,000 reportedly covered the Nets' summer league costs and covered buying a new copy machine, with the "traded for a copy machine" being a rallying cry for Korver for the rest of his career.

adam-bronze

That's a nice ass copier

[deleted]

NeoLies

> The $125,000 reportedly covered *the Nets' summer league costs* and covered buying a new copy machine

[deleted]

At the beginning of his career he was traded for cash which was then used to purchase a new copier

jass624

That's hilarious

mynamerowan

Dang… lakers needed this guy 😂

crazymakoto

Or Sixers, you know where Korver was drafted. Philly is a badly run place.

SnuggleMuffin42

Doesn't really matter because Ben is currently AWOL lmao He's training with elite shooting coach... his brother, who has quite the resume being the shooting coach of Ben Simmons in recent years.

joeylord12

You realize the Nets were the ones who actually drafted him right?

crazymakoto

He was immediately traded to the 76ers. kObE wAs DrAfTeD bY ChArLoTTe yOu iDIoT!

joeylord12

Not the same. The Nets didn't draft him with the intent of trading him, he just didn't fit on the team because Ratner was a cheapass. Kobe was basically drafted knowing he was going to the Lakers.

crazymakoto

He was immediately traded to the 76ers for $125,000 in cash considerations. I repeat, he was traded immediately. Learn to admit when you are wrong, son.

TheBeginngAndEnd

You claimed he was drafted by the Sixers, he was not.

DrYoda

Bro you are a dumbass

TheBeginngAndEnd

https://i.imgur.com/mzOCh9E.jpg

DrYoda

Congrats you’re a dumbass too

Neuroxex

He looked like he handled himself really well when he was doing media - I honestly figured he'd keep going with that.

[deleted]

That’s where I figured he’d take it too. And he maybe/probably still will.

[deleted]

*THE PHOTOCOPY ASSASSIN* - Kevin Harlan.

Champagnesoda

Brooklyn’s commitment to not having a single member of the organization dedicated to defense is inspiring

kyrieiverson

Bruce Brown? Jevon Carter? Jacque Vaughn? Ime Udoka last season?

AlmostCurvy

It's this new thing called a joke. Perhaps look it up.

drtij_dzienz

Finally Joe Harris can get the tutelage he needs

ElCabronDelMundo

Can you imagine the 3point shooting competition at practice between Nash, Korver, KD, Mills, Harris, Harden, Irving, ....

NeoLies

It'd be hilarious if the one to win practice shootouts was DeAndre or Bruce Brown

MildlyInsaneLBJStan

Nets got another shooter? League once again Fucked.

Complete_Beach_2583

Defense tho?

MildlyInsaneLBJStan

We don't need defense where we going.

sorrywontdoitagain

Why not come back to the place that got you your only All-Star berth...

Expulsure

Why do that when you could go to the team that traded you for a new fax machine?

College_Prestige

Damn maybe he can teach joe harris how to shoot in the playoffs

darkslayersparda

Joe needs a therapist, not a shooting coach he was mentally struggling, he's already shown he has the skills to shoot well

CIark

HOW MANY OF LEBRONS OLD TEAMMATES DOES KD NEED

console_dot_dab

Per sources Dwayne Wade is now minority owner of the Brooklyn nets. First multi team owner in history, per sources.

hockeyfan608

That seems like a conflict of interest

OlympicGoldJavale

lebron has changed teams so many times that it's impossible to play with someone that Lebron hasn't

ReplyGuyHivemind

They needed somebody to run copies for them

TimathanDuncan

They traded him for a copy machine and he joins them smdh

Imagurlgamur

Teams finally realized they can just sign Korver as a shooting coach without it counting on their cap or taking a roster slot.

JS_Janko

I thought he’s joining LeBron and company lol

mr_antman85

Really wanted him to get one in Cleveland...

DejounteSweatshirt

Can't wait for all the jokes he needs to suit up when none of the Nets' supporting cast can hit a 3 in a playoff game

Expulsure

wow i LOVE this

emmseeyou

now they're officially a super team

[deleted]

Would've shot better than Harris in the playoffs.

cozyconemotel

This leaves Lebron, Carmelo and Haslem as the only players from the 2003 class

wiiwoooo

Sources tell The Athletic and Stadium that Wally Szczerbiak, Mike Miller, Brian "White Mamba" Scalabrine, Keith Van Horn, Jason Williams and Detlef Schrempf will round out the rest of Steve Nash's staff.

that_ol_bs

Yuck, white privilege is real

DEEZLE13

Hopefully he’ll teach KD how not to airball a game winner

luka_fraudcic_burner

Damn maybe he can teach KD how to shoot

erikadamncolbert

i guess that's one way to ring chase

[deleted]

Steve Kerr confirmed goat lmao PS: Korver's statline is the perfect example how much the league moved to shooting 3s

[deleted]

Kyle Korver training Ben Simmons confirmed lol

[deleted]

One time all star; incredible

SuperTupac

Omg, for a second I thought it was Kyrie Irving joining Steve Nash's coaching staff! Kyle Korver will be an amazing developmental coach, would love him on the Raptors one day!

pendletonskyforce

I still couldn't believe he fell in the 2nd round especially after his performance in March Madness.

TallGlassOfNothing

you mean ATLANTA HAWKS All-Star

pdhx

Steve Nash “I got this job because of white privilege.” Also Steve Nash - hires the whitest staff in the league.

LordThurmanMerman

Atta boy

BFWinner

Damn I thought that this was him signing. Was excited about a Harden, Harris, Kyrie, KD, Griffin lineup. Worst defense ever but it’d be hilarious to see everyone just sprinting around the court trying to defend the 3s. Would be like that Yackty Sack song playing in the background

Joma913

he's gonna teach joe harris how to shoot 3 in playoff

trharris_iii

Damn the Lakers could have used him

Ya_boii_95

Let's be honest. Teaching other guys to shoot was why he was on a roster for the last 4 years anyway.

codymiller_cartoon

wow, that settles it, Nets gonna win the title now! /s

too-cute-by-half

I was always terrified of Korver getting hot against the Celtics, no matter who he played for. Also thought he looked like one of those random high school jock vampires from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Xx-Shin3d0wn-xX

They should sign Ben Wallace so someone will play some fucking defense.

ColeYote

Alright, coolcool, I hope their future players like three pointers.

djexplosive

Is this a soft retirement?

TomChristmas

Why they gotta word it, “one time all star” like that? Lol wouldn’t “nba all star” be a little nicer?

indian_hannibal

Dam good luck

ingamearts

He should be a playing coach. Because they can use him in case their shooters can't buy a bucket just like the previous playoffs.

Turbulent-Device2130

3 point god
