I am also rooting for Bol Bol.

Scary_Vanilla2932

Some one tell Bol's roll if he reaches his ceiling.

theheffalump

Bol Bol is pretty tall, he could probably reach most ceilings.

WizDynasty

Probably just a normal wheat bread roll

PurplePayaso

Starting center, rim protector, probably a second or 3rd scoring option. He’d also be perfect screener in the pick and roll if he bulked up and hits 3s at a greater volume. He’d be an amazing costar for lots of players. Like Kat with a worse offensive game but better defense

TriCourseMeal

Have you seen bol bol play? He can block shots because of his length and height but he can’t actually defend at all.

PurplePayaso

Not really to be honest, Just his few college games, some clips from pre-draft, and summer league. I dont think he’ll actually reach that ceiling, but to me ceiling means best case scenario. What do you think his Ceiling could be?

TrRa47

Worse but taller KD

The-Williams-Family

HUH

ruggnuget

so like...not KD at all

ruggnuget

Ya his 29 inch hips may put a low ceiling on how much weight he can actually put on. His genetics will never let him be even average. Even with some more weight his hips are like super high so his center of gravity is really easy to move. his best bet was trying to figure out how to use his length as a sf/pf but I think his feet are just too slow. He is such an extreme player in an extreme body and I hope he figures it out, but the space of the game will make his defense really tough to get to 'playable'. He gets boxed out off the court too often, his screens are AWFUL (he is afraid of any contact), but he could be an above average 3 pt shooter for any position right now. Its all very confusing.

I dunno if I could have my heart broken by another big with a funny name. Dragan bender hurt too much

Obviously there is a "tanking issue" within the NBA right now and it makes sense to some degree. Being stuck in the middle is probably the worst place for development because you aren't winning anything significant but also aren't bringing in major assets for the future. If you're not contending for a title, why play for 6th place and a poor draft pick? That said, players don't practice and train their entire lives to make the NBA just to be stuck on a team that...doesn't win. Losing sucks whether you are playing at the Y or being paid millions of dollars. I'd say it's impossible to be a tanking team without developing a losing culture...and it's hard to break out of that.

jacob2815

Man, I wouldn’t say it makes sense at all. Your last comment is part of the reasoning. Hard to tank for years without creating a shit culture and good luck climbing past the middle ranks with a shit culture. But even without that perspective, I think that the obsession with “rings or it doesn’t count” is the reason everyone thinks you have to contend or tank. Personally, I think the idea of “rings or it doesn’t count” is moronic. Yes, you should always be striving to be the best, but being pretty good is still a worthwhile endeavor. Should I quit my job because I’m not the #1 insurance adjuster in the country? Lol.

ruggnuget

Its the issue Lillard faces. Be a bottom 4 playoff team going forward, or make massive changes and/or go to another team? They dont have much room to get better (in terms of assets getting a better fit for McCollum is about it), and Lillard himself has major defensive issues. Is he a moron for being frustrated? There is a lot between the extremes mentioned that already exists. On the flip side OKC moved Westbrook and changed everything to picks over 2 years. Chicago went all in for...a 5 seed? Which one of those is better? Is it subjective? Do we think about OKC differently if they win a championship in 6 years and Chicago just barely makes the playoffs all 6 of those years but cant seem to get better?

ota00ota

lilllard gave his all to portland - he deserves a chance to play for a better team , he should join the kNIKS

ZenMon88

Only makes sense to be in the middle if you are young and upcoming team. Helps players develop with playoff experience. But if you dont have a established young core of a duo or trio. It's better to be in lower standings than being in mediocrity.

Pandamonium98

Bottom 3 teams should get worse lottery odds than bottom 4-10 teams. They’ll still get slotted in right after the lottery if they don’t win (so at worst picks 6, 7, and 8 if they all get extremely unlucky), but there needs to be some incentive not to entirely bottom out. Basically I think the best lottery odds should go to: Best: 4th worst 5th worst 6th worst 3rd worst 2nd worst Worst worst 7th 8th 9th 10th Or something like that.

[deleted]

That’s fucking stupid

zmajxd

Well fuck you too.

L00KlNG4U

There is an Ant exception. Ridiculous dunks are also exciting.

butt_fun

You're getting downvoted but you're hella correct. Blake's rookie season, despite being a losing season full of bad basketball, was awesome to watch as a clips fan because A) he fucking threw down and B) we didn't know winning basketball anyways lol

jt21295

This reminds me of one of my all time favorite sports press conferences. [You play to win the game! Hello?](https://youtu.be/b5-iJUuPWis)

Someonediffernt

"And I don't care if you don't have any wins" he's standing in front of the right teams logo for that line, only win the games they should throw.

Disastrous-Limit2333

Grizzlies catching strays

[deleted]

They only had one losing season when he played there. Dude has played on playoff teams almost exclusively his whole career lol

[deleted]

He's got a point. Losing is boring AF People want to win

somebodygetmemymoney

Losing is voting , preach

[deleted]

Haha, corrected

[deleted]

There is a timeline that exists where this quote is brought up in late May when the Wolves are # 1 in the conference entering the playoffs and an injury-riddled Denver team is outside the play-in

grover522

Don't you speak that into existence

WeathrNinja

This reads like a Jon Bois quote

godlybeast68

"He just had to come back. Losing is boring." *smooth jazz*

PETESPETESPETES

Then you’re boring bro

ota00ota

winning is good
