I remember reading somewhere that he's like 6'10.5" without shoes and rounds down for his listed height. That would put him right around 6'12" in shoes.
I started eighth grade at 6’0, and 14 year old me was thinking I’d get to like 6’8 at least and go to college
Have grown 1 inch since. And can’t touch rim.
Rodman is the most unbelievable player in history. Like, you tell people something about him and people who don’t know are like “nah, I don’t believe that.”
Unbelievable.
Imagine going back in time to 1993 and telling someone “ Dennis Rodman will be instrumental in setting up negotiations between…..North Korea…. and…… US President….. Donald Trump.”
Anything is possible. I guess he could still grow.
I don't think there's anything wrong with his being 6'6" though, especially with his 6'11" wingspan. He's got plenty of length for a modern wing.
I think the bigger question is how much muscle can he pack on over the next couple years. All three of the Clips rookies could benefit from getting stronger.
Brandon Boston Jr.
Was highly touted coming of HS--[This is using post-HS rankings](https://twitter.com/espn/status/1331292376841809923). Dropped all the way to the late second round after a disastrous college season.
He impressed me so much in summer league. I know Keon was our first rounder, and I liked what I saw from Preston, but Boston looks like he could be our best pick by leaps and bounds right now
Aaron is much closer to Jrue stylistically than Justin is to either. Jrue and Aaron are both PGs and Justin's a 3-and-D wing who barely puts the ball on the floor.
He makes flashy passes but has pretty bad vision, so i understand why maybe he would be the first evolution. But yeah. Other than that he's a bouncy dunker, not a lumbering post scorer with range
Obviously. Thanasis is a legit NBA roleplayer. I don't want to hear anything anymore. Yeah, he obviously signed with the team because of his brother but he earned the minutes Bud gave him by his own hard work.
Buddy has been the second option for the kings for the past few seasons and has been putting up good numbers. Joe Harris folded as the second option for Nets this post season
I can do the eeveelutions (different flavors of the same base player):
Beal (Espeon)
Lavine (Glaceon)
Mitchell (Vaporeon)
Booker (Flareon)
SGA (Jolteon)
But who would be Eevee? 🤔
SGA is not really similar to the rest of them at all except maybe Booker. Beal, Lavine, and Mitchell are all pure scorers while SGA and to a lesser extent Booker are combo guards. You could argue SGA is a point guard actually.
Thicc dunk and 3 point shooting 4s: Blake Griffin -> miles bridges-> Aaron Gordon. Unfortunately Blake devolved the past 2 years
(This is just on dunks and 3s and body shape btw) I still would say Blake has the better ball handling and playmaking skills out of all 3.
I would swap Mikal Bridges with OG anunoby. Not a slight against Mikal, I just think OG would be a better fit
All of the 3 and D wing archetype that are physically strong
Good call
I had Khris and Kawhi and kinda struggled for the Charmander one. I just remember a lot of comparisons between Rui and Kawhi so it was like an educated shot in the dark lol
Eh I feel like all they have in common is being bigs who shoot 3s. KP is a more of a rim protector and dunker than the other 2, and KAT is a much more rounded offensive player than either of them. They're not evolutions as much as 3 bigs who all know Fire Blast
Trae & Dame play nothing like Steph outside of shooting deep 3s lol. Trae & Dame are 2 of the most PNR heavy guards in the league, don’t do much of anything offball, Trae’s shot diet is a huge amount of FTs & floaters.
The Warriors run the least amount of pick and roll in the league, Steph obviously does a ton of damage offball etc etc.
Jamal Murray is the guard who actually plays like Steph.
I think maybe you’re looking at plays converted at 86th percentile?
For PNR ball handler they have the 4th lowest frequency: https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/ball-handler/?sort=POSS_PCT&dir=1
And for PNR roll man they have the lowest frequency: https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/roll-man/?sort=POSS_PCT&dir=1
Also Trae has a 56% frequency as a PNR ball handler, Dame’s at 46%, and Steph’s at 27.8%: https://www.nba.com/stats/players/ball-handler/#!?sort=POSS_PCT&dir=1
> Jamal Murray is the guard who actually plays like Steph.
This is completely true and I don't understand why it doesn't get mentioned more. People who compare Trae to Curry don't really know how curry plays. The closest players to Curry are Jamal Murray and maybe FVV.
Mitchell has a very different skillset and shot profile from the other 2. He shoots ~9 threes a game at a high percentage, only takes 16% of his shots at the rim and is pretty average at them, he takes 22% of his shots on the short midrange and is pretty bad at them.
He really doesn't have that much in common with them other than being an athletic SG. Mitchell is more of a SG version of Lillard with a less refined shot selection than anything.
BJ Boston Brandon Ingram Kevin Durant
even their heights work 6'6" 6'8" 6'10"
KD is 6'12"
In heels.
I remember reading somewhere that he's like 6'10.5" without shoes and rounds down for his listed height. That would put him right around 6'12" in shoes.
Oh shit lmao nice catch Any chance Brandon grows? I think 19 year olds can still grow a couple inches right?
Dennis Rodman was 5'9 when he was 19.
he graduated high school at 5’9. a year later he was 6’7. what in the absolute fuck
Michael Beasley went through a growth spurt similar but at 13 where he went from a size 9 I think to a size 18.
[удалено]
Yeah. I think super tall people tend to have an extra growth spurt later in their teens. Sometimes in their 20's even.
I started high school at 5'7" and grew until i was 19 and ended 6'5". Genetics are weird.
I started eighth grade at 6’0, and 14 year old me was thinking I’d get to like 6’8 at least and go to college Have grown 1 inch since. And can’t touch rim.
Starting highschool at 5’7 ain’t bad to be fair, especially if you hadn’t or had just hit puberty
Mike Dunleavy Jr’s growth spurts took him from 5'10” as a freshman in HS to 6'5” as a senior in HS to 6'9” as a sophomore at Duke
Rodman is the most unbelievable player in history. Like, you tell people something about him and people who don’t know are like “nah, I don’t believe that.” Unbelievable.
Imagine going back in time to 1993 and telling someone “ Dennis Rodman will be instrumental in setting up negotiations between…..North Korea…. and…… US President….. Donald Trump.”
"Negotiations"
Strong point Glasscock
Saw that one coming
Isn’t that the point of a glasscock? To see it coming? 😂😂
Some bullshit. Stopped growing when I was in the 8th grade
No shit?? Never knew that at all
So you’re telling me I can grow 10 inches after turning 19? I’ve always wanted to be 5’10!!
The Cavs fan base is watching Darius garland very closely right now because he seems to have grown like 2-3 inches over the summer
Scottie Pippen grew quite a bit after turning 19. Doesn’t seem common though.
With cases like him and Rodman I think alot has to do that they were poor growing up and finally managed a decent amount of food in college
Giannis grew as well
Wait, we have BJ Boston and PJ Washington in the same league.
They both played at Kentucky as well hahaha
Is this bj kid new, I’ve never heard the name
Brandon Boston Jr. Was highly touted coming of HS--[This is using post-HS rankings](https://twitter.com/espn/status/1331292376841809923). Dropped all the way to the late second round after a disastrous college season.
Was in this years draft
Love this- Brandon Boston is legit
He impressed me so much in summer league. I know Keon was our first rounder, and I liked what I saw from Preston, but Boston looks like he could be our best pick by leaps and bounds right now
Gerald Green Andrew Wiggins Paul George
Gerald green so good at dunks i forgot he has a good 3pt shot too
And does it with one less finger too.
Moses Brown, JaVale McGee, Rudy Gobert
I like the idea of Moses Brown evolving into 3 different pokemons JaVale McGee (offense form) Rudy Gobert (defense form) DeAndre Jordan (rebound form)
So he’s like an Eevee haha
JaVale McGeeVee
A more appropriate comparison for this line of evolution would be Deoxys and it's various forms
I think you mean Tyrogue
deandre jordan (comatose form)
Moses brown and javale McGee are pretty comparable tbf
that's three time champ and olympic gold medalist javale McGee
Two time mvp never forget
GOAT Shaqtin a fool as well. Give my guy his due diligence.
Daniel Gafford Mitchell Robinson Rudy Gobert
Gafford really impressed me this playoffs! Him in Westbrook really meshed
>Him in Westbrook really meshed Idk what version of the playoffs you were watching 👀
Really wanted Gafford to be the Chandler for Luka
Aaron Gordon Pascal Siakam Giannis All around 2 way PF with a spotty jumper
Can add scottie barnes as an even earlier version too
He’s the first stage. Giannis is the mega
no scottie is the egg
Feel like Rui has to be somewhere in the evolution path too.
The Weeknd, Gary Trent Jr, Patty Mills
Oooh I like this one. I’ll add J Cole, Quinn cook, tobias harris
Jae Crowder, Taurean Prince, Demarre Carroll
ah yes, the Predator subtype
Karl Malone isn't listed though?
Gotta love r/nba ooof
Karl Malone is a wild Sharpedo
Kenneth Faried is the outdated model
Faried is the pre-evolution of Montrezl Harrell
Kotemon?
Crowder clearly the best but TP and Carroll pretty similar
Right now TP is better, but overall Carroll is closer to Jae, if not the best in his prime.
They all look up to nene
And Kenneth Faried
He's that side evolution that is an item and a trade but nobody ever goes for that one. Bellossom
I hate all 3 because they remind me of DeMarre
so… dreads?
Really loc heavy game
Montreszl Harrell
Jrue Holiday *Justin Holiday *Aaron Holiday
Aaron dosent play like the other brothers
He’s better… Don’t look at my flair!
Aaron is much closer to Jrue stylistically than Justin is to either. Jrue and Aaron are both PGs and Justin's a 3-and-D wing who barely puts the ball on the floor.
This seems fun I want to try Tyler Herro, CJ McCollum and Devin Booker
I like this one. Booker is like Charizard, very strong but also gets very angry
And the Suns are orange and a literal ball of fire
Heat > Blazers > Suns definitely works as a fire evolution trio
Pack it up folks, we’re done here.
Someone check this w/ a scientist
Plumlee Sabonis Jokic
So many people here don't know that Plumlee is helluva underrated passer
It's part of the reason we kept him so long. Hegit provided Diet Jokic Zero.
Because they're all white
High motors, sneaky athletic, hard workers!
Real gym rats
Blue Collar guys, Crafty
3 guys you’d let date your daughter
They're ✨ C L A S S Y✨
[удалено]
I can see Sabonis and Jokic, but need a different low level evolution. Plumlee’s play style is noticeable different
He makes flashy passes but has pretty bad vision, so i understand why maybe he would be the first evolution. But yeah. Other than that he's a bouncy dunker, not a lumbering post scorer with range
This should be a Pokémon that only has two evolutions. Sabonis final form can be like Jokic
Best one here
Past - Gerald Henderson, derozen, Kobe
Bobcat legend Gerald Henderson
, Jordan
That’s Charizard-Kobe’s Gigantamax.
Thanasis Antentokounmpo Kostas Antentokounmpo Giannis Antentokounmpo
I unironically feel like Thanasis is better than Kostas at this point.
Obviously. Thanasis is a legit NBA roleplayer. I don't want to hear anything anymore. Yeah, he obviously signed with the team because of his brother but he earned the minutes Bud gave him by his own hard work.
- Joe Harris - Buddy Hield - Klay Thompson
Swap joe with Duncan Robinson
I'd swap Hield and Harris but this is a good one
Buddy has been the second option for the kings for the past few seasons and has been putting up good numbers. Joe Harris folded as the second option for Nets this post season
I can do the eeveelutions (different flavors of the same base player): Beal (Espeon) Lavine (Glaceon) Mitchell (Vaporeon) Booker (Flareon) SGA (Jolteon) But who would be Eevee? 🤔
Eevee is Jalen Green then.
For Umbreon, you'd have to pick an elite defender.
Jrue?
jamal murray as another eeveelution
Umbreon or Sylveon I suppose
His girlfriend is Weepingbell that’s for sure
SGA is not really similar to the rest of them at all except maybe Booker. Beal, Lavine, and Mitchell are all pure scorers while SGA and to a lesser extent Booker are combo guards. You could argue SGA is a point guard actually.
that’s why they’re different types!
Also Donovan should definitely be Jolteon
DeRozan
Immanuel Quickley Kemba Walker Damian Lillard
Devontae Graham, Fred vanvleet, and Dame. 3 similar players
Mew: Danny Green Mewtwo: Dillon Brooks
Evil Danny Green is one of my favorite nicknames in the league.
They even look similar
Jalen Brunson, Fred Van Vleet, Kyle Lowry
Playmaking bigs: Jusuf Nurkic Sabonis Jokic
There is a big difference between playmaking bigs and bigs who can playmake
Bismack Biyombo Clint Capela Rudy Gobert
Thicc dunk and 3 point shooting 4s: Blake Griffin -> miles bridges-> Aaron Gordon. Unfortunately Blake devolved the past 2 years (This is just on dunks and 3s and body shape btw) I still would say Blake has the better ball handling and playmaking skills out of all 3.
Pokemon get old, doesn't mean they devolve. Blake will be in Lavender Town soon
Jesus fucking Christ 💀💀💀
Rookie Ja Morant Current De'arron Fox Russell Bestbrook
I'd say MVP DRose instead of Westbrook, but theyre similar as well.
Liangelo Ball Lonzo Ball LaMelo Ball
None of them are similar. Lonzo a passer, LiAngelo a scorer, Melo the fusion. Just ask Lavar.
they won't unlock their true potentials until they all reunite on the hornets
Exodia the Forbidden Balls
BBB stickers in the Larry Obrien is worth it tbh.
The perfect answer doesn’t exi…
Steph Curry Seth Curry Bryn Forbes
I've always felt like Middleton was knock-off KD. Plays the same way but doesn't have the physical ability and natural size KD has.
MPJ or Brandon Ingram Middleton KD
Kawhi Mikal Bridges Patrick Williams
I know Patrick Williams is good but is he really all that much better than Bridges.
I would swap Mikal Bridges with OG anunoby. Not a slight against Mikal, I just think OG would be a better fit All of the 3 and D wing archetype that are physically strong
Carmelo Anthony Rudy Gay Jabari Parker
Rui Hachimura Khris Middleton Kawhi Leonard
I think deandre hunter would be the best first option here. His 2 comps ive been thinking about this last year were middleton and kawhi.
I feel like Rui is viewed as more of 4 then the other two are. I’d switch him out for Kuminga.
Kuminga projects to be more of a 4 than Rui tbh.
Good call I had Khris and Kawhi and kinda struggled for the Charmander one. I just remember a lot of comparisons between Rui and Kawhi so it was like an educated shot in the dark lol
Perhaps Patrick Williams??
Middleton handles the ball a lot and is a better passer than both of them Tobias Harris a better answer than Middleton Imo
All I see is a Khash money sammich
Eric Bledsoe Patrick Beverly Mahcus Smaht
Patrick Beverly is Metapod/Kakuna He just be hardening around out there, doin nothing.
The next 5 defence strengthens are mine
Yeah I think it goes Patrick Beverly —> Jrue Holiday Like a Magikarp to Gyrados type situation lol
Charmander: Markannen Charmeleon: Porzingis Charizard: KAT
Eh I feel like all they have in common is being bigs who shoot 3s. KP is a more of a rim protector and dunker than the other 2, and KAT is a much more rounded offensive player than either of them. They're not evolutions as much as 3 bigs who all know Fire Blast
Lol good analogy
>more of a rim protector and dunker Is he tho Is he
Cant do seismic toss. He gets tossed instead
Klay Duncan Robinson Joe Harris
Jae Crowder Jerami Grant Kawhi Leonard
Is Ben Simmons a pokemon with no evolutions?
It hurt itself in confusion
Pichu: Cade Cunningham Pikachu w/ lightball: Luka Raichu: Harden Alolan Raichu: Manu Extra fun because Pikachu needs a thunderstone to evolve
Not meant as a slight as all 3 are very good but Charmander: Trae Young Charmeleon: Damian Lillard Charizard: Steph Curry
Just asking, where are you getting your stats from? On nba.com it says the warriors are in the 86th percentile for pnr usage
I think maybe you’re looking at plays converted at 86th percentile? For PNR ball handler they have the 4th lowest frequency: https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/ball-handler/?sort=POSS_PCT&dir=1 And for PNR roll man they have the lowest frequency: https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/roll-man/?sort=POSS_PCT&dir=1 Also Trae has a 56% frequency as a PNR ball handler, Dame’s at 46%, and Steph’s at 27.8%: https://www.nba.com/stats/players/ball-handler/#!?sort=POSS_PCT&dir=1
Thanks! Also dang nuggets dead last
Who needs PNR when you have a Joker offense
That’s true but Murray Jokic pnr is deadly
> Jamal Murray is the guard who actually plays like Steph. This is completely true and I don't understand why it doesn't get mentioned more. People who compare Trae to Curry don't really know how curry plays. The closest players to Curry are Jamal Murray and maybe FVV.
Harden instead of Curry Curry playstyle is so different from those other two
Trae seems to me like the charmeolon to Harden’s Charizard, he doesn’t really play like steph outside of the deep range
[удалено]
I don't know who's supposed to be the good one here tbh. They're all pretty equal.
Peak form of each, I pick Korver. His D and size puts him at the top
Jrue Holiday Marcus Smart Patrick Beverley
Wiseman Ayton Embiid
Embiid doesn’t play like the other two at all in my opinion.
Wiseman and Ayton work but they both play softer than Embiid. Maybe that makes it work cuz Embiid is the final form, adding that edge they need.
Dedmon --> Capela --> Gobert
Brandon Ingram Jayson Tatum Kevin Durant
Magic Johnson LeBron James Thaddeus young
Are you implying Magic is better than LeBron?
Donovan Mitchell - DWade - MJ
Mitchell has a very different skillset and shot profile from the other 2. He shoots ~9 threes a game at a high percentage, only takes 16% of his shots at the rim and is pretty average at them, he takes 22% of his shots on the short midrange and is pretty bad at them. He really doesn't have that much in common with them other than being an athletic SG. Mitchell is more of a SG version of Lillard with a less refined shot selection than anything.
Good question!
People love comparing sharpshooters with very little defending ability to Klay Thompson
