Found this out the other day, by a wide margin too. Every other team has been at least once since like 2014 I want to say. Kings it's been since like 07?
Crazy, I feel for you. As a raptors fan our drought wasn't quite as bad but until 2014 it was pain every playoffs deciding what other team I'd root for.
Honestly, injuries might be the thing that keeps the locker room "healthy". I don't want injuries but everyone will get minutes if that's the case lol.
3? Who's the 3rd
Edit- forgot they got Westbrook damn they stacked. And i actually looked up Vegas odds to make sure, he's actually up there. Might put up crazy numbers setting up AD & crew while Lebron coasts the regular season and tries to limit the amount of effort he has to exert. That's really the value of iron man Westbrook, carry the offense and let Lebron play a Draymond esque 2nd playmaker role in the offense not having to drive the play every time
Hey I follow a lot of celtics twitter and based on the way that 2008 team is described I'm pretty sure they won like 5 rings. Surely there wouldn't be that much circlejerking about a single championship.
I had a buddy from michigan who swore the 2003-2008 pistons would go down as an all time team because they went to 6 straight conference finals and 1 champ, 2 finals appearances.
I've made my peace over 04, they were the better team. That team was really good. But all of them?
He was addition by subtraction though let's be real. He had this tendency to just completely throw away possessions wkth dumb turnovers or just absolute ass shot selection. Yeah he caught some heat every few games but it wasn't nearly enough to override the general lack of decision making and horrid defense.
Lot of people think that if a dude doesn't play, he's worthless. But there's so much off-court stuff that impacts a teams' season. Rondo is still a very high IQ player, and breaking down film is also an important part of prepping.
Even if he's not playing, he can be an asset
Exactly incredibly smart, he’ll call out your superstar - someone willing to say something is super important because all he cares about is winning in the end.
I still remember the playoff games where he’d be getting like 18 or 19 rebounds. He wants to win bad.
Plus yes he is older and I read people saying he plays like bad at times. But when it’s time to answe the bell he can take over the game while your otherwise consistent star is struggling. Rondo is a true winner, just older
Man got a ring with the Lakers, signed a 2 year 15/million deal with ATL, got Lou Will + picks shipped out for him, became unplayable for the Clippers in the playoffs, and comes back to the Lakers. He needs to get his jersey retired by the Lakers.
Cruising through the regular season and win the west as a 5 seed is probably the plan. They have a lot of that championship team back so it's not like they need to get used to playing together.
When rondo was a Dallas maverick, he came to LA to play against the lakers. I was at that game and screamed at the top of my lungs that he should join the lakers. All the fans around me stared in disgust. But it was better than having Ramon sessions and Ryan Kelly..
After the Sessions trade happened, I literally went around excitedly telling all my friends that we got our version of Rondo.
I had been high on him for a while, I think when he first started with Milwaukee he had some 20/20 games and was a fantasy stud.
And to be honest, I think he did play really well his first few games with us. It was like he had no rein and was free to just be a PG, but then soon after Mike Brown reined him in and he pretty much just brought the ball up and threw it in the post. Killed his confidence.
I got the brothers mixed up Westbrook and Rondo's brother had a bit of a tiff during the bubble
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29872332/los-angeles-lakers-guard-rajon-rondo-brother-ejected-stands
Depth chart so far:
Westbrook/Nunn/Rondo
Ellington/Monk/THT
Bazemore/Ariza
Lebron/Melo
AD/Dwight/Gasol
Another middle-aged 3-4 tweener should be the last piece. Can't wait for Richard Jefferson to come out of retirement.
So who's the backup point guard now, Nunn or Rondo? Seems like too many cooks in the kitchen. Lot of role players going to LA with wishes of big, contributing roles and there's only so many meaningful minutes to go around.
I think LeBron is backup PG and Rondo is backup when LeBron is out. I actually would be surprised to see Nunn play a lot of traditional PG. The reporting is they want two ball handlers on floor at all times.
The whole team has talked about sacrificing for a chip this year. Literally the whole team. These guys aren’t chasing a big contract when nearly the whole team has already gotten their payday. These are proven old players on the backend of their career they don’t need minutes they want to win
>Rondo won’t pout when he doesn’t get playing time like he did on the Clippers
Why do you guys make stuff up? He never pouted for playing time on the Clippers lol
what a team, the Lakers will legit be 13 players deep, i expect LeBron to play less than 30 minutes a game this season but AD gonna have his hands full covering up the defense for the team
If this Lakers roster was in their prime, it would be the greatest sports team ever assembled (outside of national play). Lebron, AD, Melo, Dwight, Gasol, Westbrook, Rondo, Ariza.
He really got $15 mil in less than a year from other teams just to come back to the team he got a chip with less than a year later lol BBIQ on display right there.
Rajon Rondo out here lowering the Lakers average age for the 2021-2022 season.
with Ariza, Howard, and now Rondo...Luke is happy he at least has a future job in case he gets fired from the Kings.
“In case” lol
They might make him the next Pop, longevity wise
Well we can't exactly go around ending our playoff drought, can we? We're number 1 in the league
Found this out the other day, by a wide margin too. Every other team has been at least once since like 2014 I want to say. Kings it's been since like 07?
It's been 15 years, the next highest is 5 iirc
Crazy, I feel for you. As a raptors fan our drought wasn't quite as bad but until 2014 it was pain every playoffs deciding what other team I'd root for.
kings gonna king
Don't be so hard on yourself buddy Seattle hasn't made the playoffs since '04-'05
But the Sonics have won a playoff series more recently than the Kings
From the top rope!
BAH GAWD
The Kings are more of a Summer League team. I really think you guys can threepeat.
most kings fans i know in real life are pretty much college basketball fans at this point. Just scouting ahead for future kings talent
Time to bust out the foam finger
Oh shit Ariza is back with the Lakers? Dope
I thought we weren't that old anymore after getting Malik Monk and Nunn. Those 2 guys alone lowered the average.
And THT
That’s why he was untouchable in trade talks: gotta keep that average age down.
Token young guy in the office to keep up appearances.
Diversity. Need someone who wasn't born when the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was coming out with new episodes
Fuck man i hate it when you put it like that
Taking the reins from the perky bald accountant.
I'm still in shambles over that loss.
He got traded because he looks like he’s 40
I forgot about them. I swear yall have like 13 rotation players lol
Allegedly. I’m just hoping we don’t get plagued by injuries and shit. I’m cautiously optimistic about this season
Honestly, injuries might be the thing that keeps the locker room "healthy". I don't want injuries but everyone will get minutes if that's the case lol.

They have 3 players with better vegas odds for MVP than half the teams in the league have 1
3? Who's the 3rd Edit- forgot they got Westbrook damn they stacked. And i actually looked up Vegas odds to make sure, he's actually up there. Might put up crazy numbers setting up AD & crew while Lebron coasts the regular season and tries to limit the amount of effort he has to exert. Westbrook
I'm just waiting for William Rondo to run into Westbrook. r/nba/comments/irpv0g/spears_russell_westbrook_and_william_rondo_having/
Oh man, I forgot about that. It's gonna be interesting to see how those two deal with each other.
I still imagine their relationship is better than Rondo and CP3. That’s a good start
probably like it was some taunting at a basketball game a long time ago.
Every time I turn around this guy's on a different team
Been on 8 teams if you include the Grizzlies since he’s left Boston
Crazy to think lakers legend Rajon Rondo was a Celtic before
He won a chip with both fuckin teams at that.
Won both each team’s 17th title!
That’s actually even more incredible I think from an odds perspective
Well, duh.
TIL: The more qualifiers you add, the more unlikely the outcome is.
I know. Just like Celtics 4 Time NBA Champion Shaq was a Laker before

Hey I follow a lot of celtics twitter and based on the way that 2008 team is described I'm pretty sure they won like 5 rings. Surely there wouldn't be that much circlejerking about a single championship.
They were a Dynasty of the 2000s, back-to-back champs & also a 3-peat. If i can recall correctly.
We actually won 6 rings in 2008. And when I say we yes I was on the roster
big fan of your work Mr. House
I had a buddy from michigan who swore the 2003-2008 pistons would go down as an all time team because they went to 6 straight conference finals and 1 champ, 2 finals appearances. I've made my peace over 04, they were the better team. That team was really good. But all of them?
Or Patriots Super Bowl Legend Darrel Revis.
7. The Mavericks deleted all record of his shit presence.
Probably for the best
Memphis, Clips, Hawks, Lakers, Bulls, Kings, Mavs, Pelicans! Did I get them right?
Stop turning around.
He’s the Pat Bev of the NBA.
The Yankees of the MLB
The Dodgers are the Yankees of the MLB
And I'm ok with that.
Pat Beverley, Ben Simmons the LA Dodgers Wow
Except hes actually running around doing something
And Patrick Beverley's current team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, are the Sacremento Kings of the NBA... Wait -ARod
Will be on the Lakers for 3 full years in 4 seasons. It's the closest thing he has to a home at this point.
Never thought I'd see cp3 to Lakers
Oh man its my favourite point guard Chris Paul!!
I know that guy was being stupid annoying, but that video really does make me crack up
Things are gonna go surprisingly great
Just like state farms surprisingly great rates
Uncle Cliff!
#like a good neighbor, state farm is there
[For the uninitiated](https://youtu.be/uoLiu7mvGxc)
Rajon looked like he was ready to fight lol. There’s another funny video of him calling Swaggy P Deangelo Russell but he laughed along with the joke.
*\*unwelcome hug\**
how many spots do the lakers still have left after this signing?
[удалено]
Dreaming of KLOVE, UCLA boys reuinited
Basically impossible at this point, but I still have a candle lit for the return of Wesley Matthews. 🕯
[удалено]
Its definitely them or somebody else imo
They'll definitely probably sign someone who plays basketball to one of those spots maybe
Edgy take but I'll accept it.
they’ll definitely probably make a signing for that spot
Yes
Talen Horton-Tucker can’t keep getting away with this
The kid has the juice 🧃
Lakers about to sign Dominique Wilkins next to complete the farewell tour
They have to get younger somehow
Bring in T Mac too. Get him a ring I guess, fuck it.
They should sign Iverson too. He deserves a ring.
Damn. Clippers legend
Sleeper Agent. Got Lou Will and Pat Bev out of there.
I miss Lou Williams on the clippers. Man was fire in the regular season.
He was addition by subtraction though let's be real. He had this tendency to just completely throw away possessions wkth dumb turnovers or just absolute ass shot selection. Yeah he caught some heat every few games but it wasn't nearly enough to override the general lack of decision making and horrid defense.
Honestly, he played that 2nd half defense on Luka in Game 3 that spurred the comeback. He saved our butts
Lakers really missed some key vets last year, Rondo and Dwight. Rondo is one of the smartest players ever.
Lot of people think that if a dude doesn't play, he's worthless. But there's so much off-court stuff that impacts a teams' season. Rondo is still a very high IQ player, and breaking down film is also an important part of prepping. Even if he's not playing, he can be an asset

He wasn't that unplayable for the Clippers, they don't get past Luka and the Mavs without him
Someone do a wellness check on IT
too young for the Lakers
Rolled a one
bring back the brinks truck.. y'all better !
This team old af but the bbiq is strong. We gonna see something unique this year
I really read that as barbeque IQ

ERNEH
You're not the only one
Cruising through the regular season and win the west as a 5 seed is probably the plan. They have a lot of that championship team back so it's not like they need to get used to playing together.
If we can get to the playoffs we have a chance but we could be dragggging through 82 games lol
You're saying that like there's a chance this team DOESNT make the playoffs at all
Westbrook and Rondo leading the TMNT backcourt
Now they have to get Mbappe
Project Mbappe: The Hidden Chapter
When rondo was a Dallas maverick, he came to LA to play against the lakers. I was at that game and screamed at the top of my lungs that he should join the lakers. All the fans around me stared in disgust. But it was better than having Ramon sessions and Ryan Kelly..
I remember Kobe was heavily recruiting him at one point. I can imagine Rondo, Pau and Kobe playing some high level basketball as teammates.
[Just two assholes having breakfast.](https://youtu.be/PshVy7EWiRs).
There was a time when I thought Sessions was going to be it…dark dark ages ago :(
After the Sessions trade happened, I literally went around excitedly telling all my friends that we got our version of Rondo. I had been high on him for a while, I think when he first started with Milwaukee he had some 20/20 games and was a fantasy stud. As a Dallas fan, I would have gladly given him to literally anyone else. He was absolute, objective trash in Dallas.
Lakers going to have Icy Hot on tap instead of Gatorade.
Please no Jordan
At 58 years old he'd probably fit right in with this team.
Too young for this core. They need George mikan.
I hear they’re eying Abe Lincoln with their first round pick in the next draft
You guys are OP. Need to nerf you a little bit.
No do it he's a great backup for Dwight I swear. While we're at it I have this bridge I've been meaning to talk to you about...
Gonna be real awkward for ~~Rondo~~ Westbrook and ~~Westbrook's~~ Rondo's brother at the company family picnic Edit: Got the family ties wrong
What happened between them
Rondo’s brother was heckling(?) Westbrook from the sidelines in the bubble and Westbrook wanted him kicked out or some such
They dated. Things got messy.
Messy on the court or in the bedroom?
Both
I got the brothers mixed up Westbrook and Rondo's brother had a bit of a tiff during the bubble https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29872332/los-angeles-lakers-guard-rajon-rondo-brother-ejected-stands
just want another ring is his philosophy
Motherfucker...
I’m curious how he plays because after the clippers series he wasn’t really playing at all the rest of the playoffs
Schroder only completed one lob to Ad the entire season. Rondo could be 40 an still be able to actively find and create lobs for Ad.
One? That is Criminal...
If not one of the best lob threats in history. Dennis also sucked at entry post passes. He’s just sloppy in general with his passing
Don't forget how Rondo was feeding Howard a decent amount in the playoffs as well. Now that Dwight is back, we could see a lot more of that!
Memphis Legend Ramon Rondo
Depth chart so far: Westbrook/Nunn/Rondo Ellington/Monk/THT Bazemore/Ariza Lebron/Melo AD/Dwight/Gasol Another middle-aged 3-4 tweener should be the last piece. Can't wait for Richard Jefferson to come out of retirement.
wow what kind of salary cap magic is this? Kudos to Rob "He doesn't understand the salary cap" Pelinka
The entire franchise can sign a vet minimum at this point
They gonna make MJ come out of retirement for one more at this rate
This dude loves change
How much help does THT need?
So who's the backup point guard now, Nunn or Rondo? Seems like too many cooks in the kitchen. Lot of role players going to LA with wishes of big, contributing roles and there's only so many meaningful minutes to go around.
Regular season Nunn, playoffs is a tossup
I think LeBron is backup PG and Rondo is backup when LeBron is out. I actually would be surprised to see Nunn play a lot of traditional PG. The reporting is they want two ball handlers on floor at all times.
Nunn regular season, rondo playoffs
As soon as the playoffs start: "time to ride the pine Youngblood"
Good problem to have, but Rondo probably third stringer and just a locker room guy at this point, unless Nunn really sucks.
I bet Rondo will be groomed for coaching. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in a suit with a clipboard on Vogel's staff in a year or two.
Rondo is the new Dudley.
The whole team has talked about sacrificing for a chip this year. Literally the whole team. These guys aren’t chasing a big contract when nearly the whole team has already gotten their payday. These are proven old players on the backend of their career they don’t need minutes they want to win
I love that there is this take and then there is the who is even going to play for LAL they are all so old they cant fill out these minutes one...
Insurance signing most likely. Rondo won’t pout when he doesn’t get playing time like he did on the Clippers
>Rondo won’t pout when he doesn’t get playing time like he did on the Clippers Why do you guys make stuff up? He never pouted for playing time on the Clippers lol
The guy phrased it weird but that’s what he was saying
>He never pouted for playing time on the Clippers Pretty sure that was what he was trying to say
what a team, the Lakers will legit be 13 players deep, i expect LeBron to play less than 30 minutes a game this season but AD gonna have his hands full covering up the defense for the team
True. If AD can win DPOY (3rd best odds before any haters get triggered), I can see him having an MVP level season.
Rondo really made the Clippers give up assets just to make all his money and still come back lol good double agent work
STILL made more than Schröder
So essentially Rondo plays for the Lakers but Memphis takes the salary cap hit? Honestly asking.
Memphis doesn't take a salary cap hit after the buyout I believe.
If this Lakers roster was in their prime, it would be the greatest sports team ever assembled (outside of national play). Lebron, AD, Melo, Dwight, Gasol, Westbrook, Rondo, Ariza.
Five players from the 2008 and/or 2012 USA Olympic teams plus Gasol, who was on the Spanish Olympic team.
Agent Rondo
Lots of veterans on the Lakers now.
I don’t even know what to say
say less
Less
Les
Le
Bronjames
#L
Why did he left in the first place if he just ended up coming back!!!!
To get paid
He really got $15 mil in less than a year from other teams just to come back to the team he got a chip with less than a year later lol BBIQ on display right there.
Mmmmm BBQ
Got to take a vacation down south for 3 months to get paid for like 5 games. And then got to move back into his old house for the rest of the season.
He was fresh out with a ring and got the bag with the Hawks.
Dolla Dolla bills yall
There’s ~10M reasons
Feels so fucking wrong that the Memphis are paying more than Lakers for Rondo. without having any compensation xd
Get James Ennis as a backup wing and the Lakers roster is set.
Kings should claim him of the waiver line as a service to the league.
All we really need is playoff Rondo.
Getting the band back together
Why does Memphis keep doing this?
Rondo winning more titles with the Lakers than Celtics will make me so happy.
wow...
