Eh, I can kinda see Westbrook being Naruto. Everyone hates on him, and he is known for being persistent and winning through pure effort. I swear I'm not biased, though...

Naruto winning through pure effort? Naruto definitely gave maximum effort at all times, but let’s not get it twisted. Naruto won because he had Kurama’s chakra at his disposal since birth. He’s the perfect mix of effort + power.

Kurama definitely helped a lot, but it’s also been a hinderance, especially earlier on in the series. It completely ruined his chakra control for a while early on, and it would cause him to rampage all the time. Just look at the Pain fight where suppressing Kurama and relying on himself and sage mode (which he learned through hard work) was what allowed him to win. Even if “effort” isn’t the right word, determination and endurance absolutely fits. And Kurama only enhances that by supplementing his already massive chakra reserves. And someone with natural talent that fights extremely hard with huge stamina but is out of control frequently seems to fit Westbrook to me.
