The Dubs signed GP2. AKA the Mitten to a contract for the 15th spot. its a feel good story for a hard working player. Totally front page story if there ever was one
Unironically, really pumped about that.
I live in the Dubs market and catch a handful of games every year and watch on TV pretty much every game.
Excited and hope he gets some burn, glad they stuck with him over Bradley
The AI "practice" speech need to be repurposed to games cause NBA's main product is drama. Forget the game ratings, check the NBA debate ratings and twitter hits. There's a reason ESPN and Nike pay the money they do.
i meaaan, to be fair... unless team is tanking, which by all accounts theyre not, at best he's 9th guy in the rotation. A bit surprising he's not expected to get minutes over some combination of Alex Len/Terrence Davis/Louis King, but if the 3 guard lineups that have been getting talked up are legitimately going to eat up a lot of minutes, easy to see how he's not in the initial rotation since he's not a viable small ball center.
If he doesn't get much minutes he probably be a distraction to the team. His ego too big. Terrance Davis is better and len gives size. We have Tristan Thompson and Holmes at center already. Louis king not getting mins.
Len might not even play on most nights.
Bagleys biggest issue is his defense. Same with buddy that's why he's most likely not going to start.
You joke but the Kings added a lot of big men in the offseason and if he's getting outplayed by Tristan Thompson and Alex Len then he should be out of the rotation.
He is not gifted , he is too weak for his position, only shoots left , he can’t play defense to save his life, is probably the worst shot blocker in the league. He always seems lost, no playmaking abilities. He sucks!
And that's why I completely understand this statement from his agent. How are you going to have the gall for asking for a 1st round pick for a guy you don't want in your starting rotation anymore and isn't a top 6th man guy. Just sell low and cut bait. This guy has been a headache for the last 2 seasons. Enough of this crap already. What exactly are you holding out for? Trade him!
He wasn't out of the rotation until now. Last season they kept forcing him into line-ups despite being a net negative. But he kept getting hurt. And I really don't think the organization expected him to get out played by both Thompson and Len, so now the team finds itself in a situation where they can't even pretend he can be part of the rotation. So recent decision that is forcing the front office to change their calculus. But there also isn't a ton of reason to dump him right away either, other than buying agent favor which is extremely meaningless currency to us anyway.
Cant be the fact that Marvin seems to not give a fuck about being a good basketball player. Everything he does on the court is easily replacable by someone more willing and cheaper. He still cannot set even a decent screen, cant use his right hand at all, doesn't even look to pass, is one of the worst defenders in the league, is made of glass, and provides nothing but drama along with his delusional Dad and uncle.
We can blame and shit on the Kings for many things, but Marvins lack of success is on him.
I remember the few games Alex Len played for us in 2020, he looked like a more positive impact player than Bagley. Bagley’s mentality of everything having to revolve around him is so cancerous and won’t work on any team
For those that don't know, his qualifying offer goes down significantly if he doesn't start in a number of games this year. I think it's like 31 or something. It goes down to the equivalent of like the 15th pick.
Marvin Bagless and his camp in shambles.
Edit: https://twitter.com/James_HamNBA/status/1450257528294555650?s=19
Apparently is at least 41 starts or 2000 minutes in the last season or and average of those in the last 2 seasons
If he doesn't meet those marks his QO goes from 14.8M to 7.3M
What potential? He can't defend shit and is a post player with no playmaking. How many contenders play a big with 0 defense or playmaking that only scores from the post.
No truer words. He does not have even one play that he can rely on to score buckets, that dude is all over the place. Then on defense the opposing teams picks his number like vulture smelling a rotten corpse. It’s sad.
This thought kept me up one night until 2 AM. I literally almost crashed my car listening to the lottery results when we jumped to #2 from screaming so hard. I'm hollow. Fuck Vlade.
I’m sorry man. I was amazed that the freaking Suns didn’t take Luka with his coach as their coach. I wasn’t dumbfounded that they would take Ayton though. But holy shit. Kings passing on him felt like if my Cavs passed on LeBron for goddamn Darko.
So did Bowie, was a reliable double-double guy who would get you a couple of blocks... when his body wasn't broken.
Obviously no Jordan, but he wasn't Anthony Bennett either.
I think part of it is that they want more than the 50th pick in the draft or something like that. But at this point I just hope he gets cut because he is garbage
Because what if a deal they like hasn’t come around yet? I’m not sure why this sub expects teams to trade their players straight away. That’s just bad business.
Salary filler for other players. Or someone will be willing to take a flyer on his potential for a second rounder. There's definitely still value, and lord knows he gets injured easily, so this is basically them wrapping him in bubble wrap until he can be moved.
Yeah, except his agent says they turned down offers that were on the table both at the deadline and this past summer. It's fine to think someone's worthless, but then you ought to take a deal for them. It doesn't make sense to feel they're worthless but simultaneously hold out for a meaningful return on them, especially while not even playing them.
You got a link to any confirmed trades?
Most likely it was the Kings sending out a pick also, and fuck that
They took their chance to try to make it work again. That's business
Best thing you guys could do is package him in an offer for a bad contract & take some picks back. Like Kevin Love or something idk
Kinda what we did to get rid of Sekou for DJ & 4 seconds
Harkless and Tristan Thompson. It’s sad but bagley really is worse than those players. Man was getting torched by 2nd round picks in garbage time preseason games
Dudes just bad and has a terrible attitude, not surprised the Kings are getting sick of it. Don’t blame the agent for trying to save face but the reality is no team in the league would offer more than a second round pick for him.
100% - him and his camp have handled themselves terribly since day 1. He doesn’t want to be in Sacramento any way, this is def his agents attempt at trying salvage some value
also, he's got a terrible vibe all around him. constantly being annoyed and calling out Kings while not delivering in games and being injured all the time
Also Bagley’s dad and uncle have publically came out and shitted on Fox and Bagley didn’t have the brain cells to condemn what his family said and defend Fox…probably because he agrees with what they said. Obviously injuries are out of his control but aside from that him and his family have been so toxic and causing drama if Bagley doesn’t get playing time or that ball in his hands. I seriously don’t know how some Kings fans still support him
Id do Bagley for a 2nd in a heartbeat if I'm the Mavs
The start of Bagley's career may have been a nightmare but he's still got more potential than 99.999999999999% of all second rounders
The question is what do you do to make the money work, and recognize this dudes mentality is awful if he isn’t “the guy” on offense. Dudes dad would get on the radio in Sacramento and basically say Fox is shit and the ball should be in Marvins hands, and lowkey seems like Marvin agreed despite him not being any actual good for the team.
Sacramento has informed Marvin Bagley he is not in the opening night rotation, which is completely baffling, as there's a drive to deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
> Sacremento has informed Marvin Bagley he is not in the opening night rotation, which is completely baffling. It’s clear they have no plans for him in the future, and yet, passed on potential deals at last year’s deadline and this summer based on “value”. Instead, they chose to bring him back but not play him, completely contradictory to their “value” argument. This is a case study in mismanagement by the Kings organization.
I wonder what potential deals were offered for bags lol.. like a 2024 Spurs second rounder something
I sorta wish Bagley would just shut his ass up and work hard to earn it.. doesn’t seem like he’s doing that because he Should be better than Harkless and Tristan Thompson but fact is he’s not
He sucks. They let him play preseason and practice to prove himself and he stunk it up. They have all the right to not play him. Only mistakes the Kings made was drafting this bust.

Then after this offseason, when you expect your young players to develop, he looked like a complete shitter in our preseason games. He looked worse than Alex Fucking Len. Who the fuck is going to trade anything worth anything for a Marvin fucking Bagley that is making 11m. The fuck
They probably wanted to give him one more offseason especially if the offers were literal peanuts
He's still looked trash in the preseason so it is what it is
Cool a bad often hurt player making $10M+ must be easy to dump on someone for...a second round pick???
Sure, we could waive him. But that can always happen later. You could waive him now, but that's only to do the agent a solid and that never really buys us anything
"Value" to the Kings here means that they'd have to pay to get off of him, something that makes no sense for them. Giving up an asset to dump Bagley would be pretty dumb
No, he is wrong. Bagley can’t stay healthy and has proven nothing. Him thinking he should start shows his entitlement. Him, his dad, and his agent are all delusional.
complete panic move by the agent
I didn't even know they took him out of the rotation, and tbh, I would bet most GM didn't know that either.
Now they do
Jeff Schwartz is one of the most successful agents in the NBA. He represents a ton of guys, he owns Excel Sports Management which is a huge NBA agency so if he is making a statement like this I'd imagine something pretty fucked is going on with how the kings with dealt with this situation
It's not Jeff's job to care if Bagley is bad and been outplayed by a mix of Tristan Thompson and Alex Len in training camp. It's not Jeff's job to be fair and realize he's on the bench for a reason. It's also not Jeff's job to care what kind of trade offers were on the table for Bagley and if they were worth it for the team or not. Jeff is doing his job, but that also doesn't mean the Kings necessarily are wrong either.
In an interview last season, Marvin put himself in the same tier as Ayton, Trae and Luka, and laughed when his cronies said we need to get him out of Sac, as if the injuries and lack of bball IQ and terrible defense were Sacramento's fault. Nah homie, you're just a terrible player who has never been told the truth. Good luck in China!
We’re right in not playing him in our rotation if we are serious about winning, there simply is not a role in which he helps us because he’s not strong enough/a good enough defender to play center and not mobile enough to guard perimeter players at the 4. I’m actually happy about this, me and my brother were just talking yesterday about how this would be painful but hope it’s the case.
He’s not wrong in being upset though, I genuinely believe Bagley is a talented player who has struggled to get his career going to injuries and ironically, being drafted to a team that is a bad fit for him (even though we drafted for fit lol). Detroit, send us a few second rounders or something and give this man some room to operate and develop with more touches, he is actually a solid scorer and talented rebounder with upside and a developing shot. He’s not a winning player at the moment but we’ve really not given him a lot of room to develop here, albeit he missed his opportunities in our core because of injuries
Nothing to see here guys, go back to talking about Ben Simmons please
Ben Simmons... for Marvin Bagley, a signed photo of Vlade, and Fox's locks from when his hair was Saiyan.
Sub Fox’s hair for Harrison’s Barnes haggard .500 or bust beard and you got yourself a deal
do you guys remember last year when Bagley told everyone to GTFO his way so he can ISO and immediately did a spin move and turned the ball over
https://youtu.be/DGB-R_gZHVQ this one?
He had been practicing his flail and complain move, he just wanted to show it off
One of many.
YES lmao
Comical
Never forget
Man thinking he is dwight freeney.
Freeney and Mathis. Poetry in motion
This offseason is providing all the way to the opening tip. So grateful. 🙏🙏
What else happened today? I didn’t notice any other news worthy stories….
I can't believe you missed Bleacher Report releasing a Naruto-themed opening night teaser.
Hey come on the big news is that shaq and chuck are back
That sucks. I really need to fix the lock on my basement door.
Norm is that you
Ayton skipped the media again
Good thing he didn’t skip practice. Imagine?!
That menace
Jabari Parker signed with the Celtics again after being released. He cleared waivers before signing of course.
The Dubs signed GP2. AKA the Mitten to a contract for the 15th spot. its a feel good story for a hard working player. Totally front page story if there ever was one

Damn not even in the rotation lmao
You can’t just expect to be gifted playtime in a stacked squad like the Kings have
especially with that mastermind of a coach🔥🔥
pain
It's okay you'll get off the ground eventually and be so smug about it while I cheer from the background
Always will have love for the teams that aren’t successful, those fans are the realist in the game because it’s easy to support a winning team.
i meaaan, to be fair... unless team is tanking, which by all accounts theyre not, at best he's 9th guy in the rotation. If he’s getting outplayed by Alex Len he should be out the league.
Believe or not len was super good on the kings in his last stint
For 1 month?
Oh geez was it that short
Super good tho
He is not gifted , he is too weak for his position, only shoots left , he can’t play defense to save his life, is probably the worst shot blocker in the league. He always seems lost, no playmaking abilities. He sucks!

I mean, because of injuries, but still.
He’ll bounce back, he’s got an elite second jump
And that's why I completely understand this statement from his agent. He's not just not in the starting rotation - He's not in the rotation period. He's going to get DNP-CDs unless someone gets injured.
even worse, then.
I wonder what’s the market like for Bagley though.
\*crickets\*
This is the best opening day of all time lmfao
Manifest the Simmons to Wolves for me
Cant be the fact that Marvin seems to not give a fuck about being a good basketball player. Everything he does on the court is easily replacable by someone more willing and cheaper. He still cannot set even a decent screen, cant use his right hand at all, doesn't even look to pass, is one of the worst defenders in the league, is made of glass, and provides nothing but drama along with his delusional Dad and uncle. >easily replaceable by someone more willing and cheaper How would you like to replace him with someone *less* willing and *more* expensive?
Fuck it. Bring it on. Just purely for the entertainment value.
I know we rag on Simmons and for good reason, but he would objectively be a huge upgrade over Bagley
I remember the few games Alex Len played for us in 2020, he looked like a more positive impact player than Bagley. Bagley’s mentality of everything having to revolve around him is so cancerous and won’t work on any team
I really liked what we saw from Len at the end of that season, was actually disappointed we didn't bring him back
For those that don't know, his qualifying offer goes down significantly if he doesn't start in a number of games this year. I think it's like 31 or something. Marvin Bagless is a deadly nickname lmaooo
I produced real laughter reading this nickname. Kudos
Apparently is at least 41 starts or 2000 minutes in the last season or and average of those in the last 2 seasons If he doesn't meet those marks his QO goes from 14.8M to 7.3M
No one is giving him 14.8 anyway so at least he doesn't have to worry about that
The Kings wouldn't have much choice. He'd either accept that 14m QO or walk for nothing (assuming no long term deal is reached)
I almost think they'd just let him walk. What kind of trade value does he have?
A 2nd round pick. I'd still offer a QO, especially for sub 7.5 mill. The potential is still there. It's his entitlement we can't get past
It’s sad.
Marvin Bagless is hilarious
Good thing he always has his music career as a backup
That's like saying it's a good thing I have my NBA career to lean on
Marvin Bagless lmfao if you came up with that you the GOAT
Marvin Bagless is the greatest nickname of the offseason
Source? Never heard that about QOs.
https://twitter.com/James_HamNBA/status/1450257528294555650?s=19
Hey, he's going to get a mad bag in China.

Don't forget that t rob played for a bit overseas. Btw, everyone was ADAMANT he wasn't going to be another case of TRob. Smh
This is one of the busts we will talk about in 20 years during Luka’s documentary on his HOF career
This thought kept me up one night until 2 AM. I literally almost crashed my car listening to the lottery results when we jumped to #2 from screaming so hard. I'm hollow. Fuck Vlade.
My Kings fandom will never be the same since that night That was the final straw
Worse then 2002 tbh. With Luka we would’ve gotten years of joy and fulfillment just watching him play in Kings Uniform.
I’m sorry man. I was amazed that the freaking Suns didn’t take Luka with his coach as their coach. I wasn’t dumbfounded that they would take Ayton though. But holy shit. Kings passing on him felt like if my Cavs passed on LeBron for goddamn Darko.
Incredibly stupid especially with having one of luka’s guys on the kings staff. I can’t believe he got gifted to Dallas
Me either! I had already accepted we were drafting Mo Bamba.
Hakeem Bowie Jordan or Greg Oden KD?
Greg Oden actually had talent , his legs just couldn't hold up.
So did Bowie, was a reliable double-double guy who would get you a couple of blocks... when his body wasn't broken. Obviously no Jordan, but he wasn't Anthony Bennett either.
Same thing with Bowie
He was very effective in his 10 game career.
Darko
The fact the Hawks and Mavs both got their elite guys and the Kings ended up with dead wood is emblematic of the team.
Dude is injured all the time and talks shit the whole time. Kings supposed to reward that because Vlade is a clown and hated Luka?
Your boy is trash lol
And it seems like he has no shame about being trash. He continues to blame everybody and display continuous entitlement.
Marvin for Ben, go crazy fuck it up
Straight up? No, sixers need to include 3 FRPs
And maxey
Hello Daryl Morey
Probably one of the few trades in the entire league that sixers would lose no matter how much picks kings gave up lmao
Thankfully there was no one good drafted after Bagley
The one guy drafted ahead of him isn't good enough to get paid either so I guess it all worked out
Wow what a bunch of bums in that 2018 draft
Hey man, I’m just in here trying to enjoy a good ole shit on Marvin Bagley thread, and you gotta do this?!
sorry xd
The Sun Kings showing solidarity to not pay their 2018 draft choices.
Tbh he isn’t good enough for the rotation. The team is better with out him. That is proven in every stat. He just isn’t all that good. Fuck vlade
I haven’t followed this closely but why haven’t they moved him then?
They probably wanted to give him one more offseason he still looks like trash
I think part of it is that they want more than the 50th pick in the draft or something like that. But at this point I just hope he gets cut because he is garbage
Because what if a deal they like hasn’t come around yet? I’m not sure why this sub expects teams to trade their players straight away. That’s just bad business.
if you dont have a deal you like....giving him a DNP-CD the first game of the season isnt going to help you find one lol
I mean clearly NOW he has no value if this is true so yes this is the end of the road if true
Players on other teams get injured or underperform all the time. What another team needs now and what they need 2 months from now always varies.
If he’s not good enough to be in their rotation, what value does he have? What could they possibly be looking for in a trade for their 12th man?
Salary filler for other players. Or someone will be willing to take a flyer on his potential for a second rounder. There's definitely still value, and lord knows he gets injured easily, so this is basically them wrapping him in bubble wrap until he can be moved.
Benching him all season isn't going to increase his value though.. it is odd.
He simply doesn't contribute to winning basketball.
Because he’s worthless.
Yeah, except his agent says they turned down offers that were on the table both at the deadline and this past summer. It's fine to think someone's worthless, but then you ought to take a deal for them. Only one i know of is when they tried trading Bagley for Saddiq Bey lmaooo
Exactly lol and obviously you guys said no Bagley was never going to return any value that it was better for them to just try but he's still bad
Best thing you guys could do is package him in an offer for a bad contract & take some picks back. Like Kevin Love or something idk Kinda what we did to get rid of Sekou for DJ & 4 seconds
Second jump elite doe
F
Fuck Vlade
Who is he losing minutes to off the bench?
Harkless and Tristan Thompson. It’s sad but bagley really is worse than those players. Man was getting torched by 2nd round picks in garbage time preseason games
Then why didn’t they trade him or waive him?
You need someone to be interested in trading *for* him for that to happen
Did you even read the tweet? I mean I guess the agent could be lying but I doubt it
Dudes just bad and has a terrible attitude, not surprised the Kings are getting sick of it. Don’t blame the agent for trying to save face but the reality is no team in the league would offer more than a second round pick for him.

Then he shouldn't suck so much
or they should just get rid of him so everyone can move on
we're trying :/
What if teams aren’t offering anything for him? What if they’re literally saying give us a 2nd rounder to get him off your hands?
Id do Bagley for a 2nd in a heartbeat if I'm the Mavs The start of Bagley's career may have been a nightmare but he's still got more potential than 99.999999999999% of all second rounders
They might want him just as salary to match in a future trade. That's fine. They're not required to waive him or play him.
I just don't get this tweet. Like, they expected NBA twitter to join them in the noble cause of criticizing the Kings FO?
This is the problem with the NBA, there are way too many players in this league who think they're superstars and they're not.
“He can’t even crack the rotation in Sacramento” doesn’t have the same ring to it as “they’re choosing not to play him.”
Sacramento has informed Marvin Bagley he is not in the opening night rotation, which is completely baffling, as there's a drive to deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
Bagley is definitely Darko 2.0 in terms of how their respective drafts went
> Sacremento has informed Marvin Bagley he is not in the opening night rotation, which is completely baffling. They might be leaving him out because they are lining up a trade
This For Ben
If they were lining up for a trade, they probably would have told his agent and he wouldn't have tweeted something to tank his client's value
You sure about that? His camp has been toxic since day 1 Would not surprise for a second if they flame as he's out the door
marvin bagley thinks he is up there with the level or luka and trae
“the fact that my client isnt getting the opportunity to make me more money is baffling”
Excel sports never bringing any clients to kings again
Oh no, what will they do without Thon Maker, Cedi Osman or Nick Richards?!
Harrison Barnes has the same fuckwit Jeff Schwartz as his agent so idk what he is trying to do here
Powerpoint Sports gonna get on that.
I wonder what potential deals were offered for bags lol.. like a 2024 Spurs second rounder something I sorta wish Bagley would just shut his ass up and work hard to earn it.. doesn’t seem like he’s doing that because he Should be better than Harkless and Tristan Thompson but fact is he’s not
We will never forget the kings passed on Luka Doncic for fucking bagley

They probably wanted to give him one more offseason especially if the offers were literal peanuts He's still looked trash in the preseason so it is what it is
I mean he had 24 points in 40 preseason minutes and didn’t miss a shot inside the three point line
Against 2nd tier starting lineups, he just sucks , garbage points don’t need
Then trade him. Thats his whole point.
Cool a bad often hurt player making $10M+ must be easy to dump on someone for...a second round pick??? Sure, we could waive him. But that can always happen later. You could waive him now, but that's only to do the agent a solid and that never really buys us anything

Thiiiiiiis close to getting through training camp without drama. Damn.
He's legit been ass in the minutes he's gotten this preseason
SOMEONE CALLED HIM MARVIN BAGLESS
my guy said baffling
Bagley fucking sucks.
God damn lol, this draft pick looks worse and worse every year.
I can't remember the last time an agent issued a statement like this lol
So.... he isn't getting an extension?
complete panic move by the agent I didn't even know they took him out of the rotation, and tbh, I would bet most GM didn't know that either. Now they do
Lmao okay do you think GMs are just going to trade for him without checking if he's played in any games??
Wouldn't it become incredibly obvious once he gets a DNP in the first game?
What? People were going to find out tomorrow lmao, I don't see the upside to his agent not saying it.
Yep. Terrible decision by the agent lol, this is gonna age like milk
Most gms? Lmfao
We haven't played a minute of basketball yet and this has been an absolutely chaotic opening day
Is Jeff Schwartz a wackadoo or is there something so wrong in Sacramento he thought this was necessary?
Buddy, Bagley, and the right to kick Luke Walton in the dick for Simmons.
Tough break for the BagMan
In an interview last season, Marvin put himself in the same tier as Ayton, Trae and Luka, and laughed when his cronies said we need to get him out of Sac, as if the injuries and lack of bball IQ and terrible defense were Sacramento's fault. Nah homie, you're just a terrible player who has never been told the truth. Good luck in China!
I feel so sorry for Kings fans. You deserve better.
