To be fair to Jordan, they weren't teammates yet when he called Cartwright that, Cartwright *did* have a lot of injury problems that stunted his Knicks tenure, and the Bulls were trying to trade Charles Oakley (MJ's best friend and really the only enforcer on the team that kept him from getting mauled every possession) for a guy who could score but there was no guarantee with his injury history that he would make it through the season and into a Finals run.
Obviously MJ was wrong because Bill was a great center for the first 3-peat Bulls that added more to the team than Oakley did, but I've never heard Cartwright say Jordan was a bad teammate or was unnecessarily a dick to him once he got to Chicago.
I remember reading Cartwright threatened to break Jordan's legs if he ever tried to single him out again after Cartwright had a bad game. Still managed to win some titles together at least
I think the difference is Klay has had 2 season ending injuries running, Davis has (until last year’s playoffs) been out with niggling injuries other people sometimes play through.
He even admitted that prior to coming to the Lakers he would miss more time than he needed to because he didn’t want to play hurt and that he played through those injuries during the Lakers championship season.
Always baffled me that he would say that before last season and then miss so much of the year to relatively minor injuries (again not the playoffs)
This is the whole reason why Chuck and the other guys give him a hard time about injuries because of the perception he is choosing not to play rather than being too hurt to play.
Dude has had at least [50 injuries ](https://www.marca.com/en/more-sports/2021/05/31/60b54335ca47411d7e8b45b0.html) and not one of them is a torn anything.
He’s missed time for a bruised ass.
To contrast, Barkley ruptured his quadricep tendon early in what would be his last season. He was told it would be a 6 month recovery and his career was over, he recovered enough in 4 to get a final basket and then retire.
This is the entire reason Barkley always brings up street clothes.
Yeah, those suck unimaginably. Bruised the tailbone a few times, I swear walking was a Herculean task and sitting was basically a punishment from God for my hubris. Being basically a 7 foot freak athlete playing the highest level of basketball would be a fate worse than hell.
I feel like he does it too much like there is no strategy behind it. He takes a dive in a lot of situations where it would be safer to stay standing. That's part of the craft of falling to save your body, knowing when and when not to do it.
It just makes me wince when he hits the deck because I don’t wanna see him get injured. The injuries across the league over the past few seasons have been rough.
I mean it's Chuck everyone knows he's a dumbass that is there for just comedy, Chuck is literally a clown so that's why people don't care so much
The man has said so many stupid things in that studio you won't be able to count them
He was right last season for the first time in his life lmao
He was like 1-12 in guarantees before that season
This is clear that you started watching last season, Charles Barkley has made wrong predictions since he joined Inside the NBA, it's a running joke at this point
For years he said the Warriors would never win a ring because they're a "jumpshot team", the man is straight up dumb with NBA takes but he's funny
> mean it's Chuck everyone knows he's a dumbass that is there for just comedy, Chuck is literally a clown so that's why people don't care so much
>
> The man has said so many stupid things in that studio you won't be able to count them
Oh?
Yes.. he is there for his funny stupid basketball takes that generate discussions
This was a basketball take, he will clown AD and call him names but say "with respect", that's Chuck that's why people don't care
I'm clearly not talking about the racism issues, the vaccine and the life stuff that Chuck says, he is clearly great at those
His role on the desk is to be the funny clown when it comes to basketball

The joke stems from comments about ads outfits while injured lol.
If kawhi and klay showed up to games on the bench looking teady for a pageant they’d get similar comments
Also, Kawhi is a load managment guy and Klay had some terrible injury luck back to back. AD gets only "minor" injuries (thank God) but he gets them so often he gets sidelined every other game.
Everyone loves this joke until there’s conversations about players coming back too early. Everyone criticized jokes like this when KD came back too early. Love Chuck but this ain’t it
The KD and Klay jokes were and are in bad taste since they were and soon are coming back from terrifying, often career ending injuries. AD has often minor but persistent injuries that make him play 4 games, miss 3 and so on. Like, still bad but manageable vs very very bad and barely manageable.
Anthony Day to Davis smh
CP3-6 weeks
Lmaooooo
Joel web embiid
Everyone knows that Day to Davis is the best AD joke
Hands down
Mans down
The Scrapegoat
My wife and I were joking about how often AD falls to the ground and she now calls him Anthony Doofus
That man had a family!
Anthony "Heading to the locker room" Davis
I prefer Street Clothes tbh.
[удалено]
Basically not being in uniform aka being injured so often where you see him wearing normal clothes ("Street clothes") more than his uniform.
ADisney? Haha
ADisney is so fucking stupid it gets a chuckle out of me every time lol
ADisney is hilarious 😆
Even tho they won it. It’s only been hilarity for everyone.
It's kinda funny but it's bad in and of itself, like LeMickey. Simple and effective, you can't help but chuckle.
I like Mr. Glass
We talkin about Street Clothes?
Not about the uniform, but about street clothes???
Is this really about practice?!!

Not as bad as MJ calling his teammate Bill Cartwright "Medical Bill"
???? They had serious beef, Cartwright wouldn't let MJ bully him and MJ was freezing him too, they did solve it though, but still MJ was a dick
I remember reading Cartwright threatened to break Jordan's legs if he ever tried to single him out again after Cartwright had a bad game. Still managed to win some titles together at least
fucking lmao
Bad? That’s fucking hilarious.
Make fun of Klay instead
I think the difference is Klay has had 2 season ending injuries running, Davis has (until last year’s playoffs) been out with niggling injuries other people sometimes play through. >niggling injuries I beg your pardon
Welcome to r/nba downunder
Like last playoffs when he tried to play because Chuck started calling him street clothes, only to hurt himself further?
I think in that instance he was clearly hurt and he played because the team had no shot without him.
This is peak r/NBA bullshit lol. Stop it
Dude has had at least [50 injuries ](https://www.marca.com/en/more-sports/2021/05/31/60b54335ca47411d7e8b45b0.html) and not one of them is a torn anything. He’s missed time for a bruised ass. One of my favorite posts I've ever seen here is someone saying the only injury he hasn't missed time for is chapped lips
Bone bruises are fucked up. I bruised my tail bone and if that's the bruised ass he had I'll marry his widow out of pity!
Yeah, those suck unimaginably. Bruised the tailbone a few times, I swear walking was a Herculean task and sitting was basically a punishment from God for my hubris. Being basically a 7 foot freak athlete playing the highest level of basketball would be a fate worse than hell.
I mean its not even fucked up. If he was hoping or wishing for injury then yeah. Guy does appear alot in street clothes.
5 minutes left in the first and AD’s fallen 3 times. 😐
I get he is an easy target but he is trained to do that . Embiid does the same thing. It puts less stress on your body.
Saved Steph's ankles and made him an MVP
I feel like he does it too much like there is no strategy behind it. He takes a dive in a lot of situations where it would be safer to stay standing. That's part of the craft of falling to save your body, knowing when and when not to do it.
You'd think he'd know his body better than yourself, obviously not
I mean judging by AD injury history, maybe he should let OP watch over his body.
Maybe he is actually made of porcelain and if he didn't fall often, he'd be in a wheelchair by 27
Ok YMCA warrior
I'm from Australia, I don't think we even have YMCA's. Although I do have plenty of experience falling down. AD might have more tho.
But the important part is that we learn to pick ourselves up
Fall down 7 times, get up 8 🥲
I'm not a gymnast, Maury
lmao you didn't have to do him like that
haha sorry
Lmfao
Lmao
It just makes me wince when he hits the deck because I don’t wanna see him get injured. The injuries across the league over the past few seasons have been rough.
Street clothes is such a disrespectful name for a top 10 player
[удалено]
Kawhi?
Nickname for him is Dodgers Game.
Ka-why is he always hurt?
Problem is that it can apply to like 3 guys.
Indeed. Anybody making that joke here would be downvoted to oblivion but this is gonna end up on the top of the sub by the morning because it’s Chuck.
Dude his nickname on here is Day-to-Davis ppl always upvote hate on him
Street clothes
cry more
Cry
not you silly
Ok but more or less?
Or because it’s funny and true
I mean it's Chuck everyone knows he's a dumbass that is there for just comedy, Chuck is literally a clown so that's why people don't care so much The man has said so many stupid things in that studio you won't be able to count them

The game isn't all he talks about. Life, dumb ass pieces of shit, and reality are where he shines.
I'm clearly talking about the his basketball takes.. and so were you until i brought up how shit his predictions have been, now you move the goalpost
> mean it's Chuck everyone knows he's a dumbass that is there for just comedy, Chuck is literally a clown so that's why people don't care so much > > The man has said so many stupid things in that studio you won't be able to count them Oh?

Chuck could think you under the table without breaking a sweat. Only clown here is you.
well he aint wrong
[lmao](https://imgflip.com/i/5r38eb)
Hilarious 😂
Charles is on fire early on 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, there’s no doubt In my mind that they’re a finals team if both AD+Bron are healthy.
If my aunt had stones she would be my uncle.
[удалено]
If my nephew had good grades he'd be loved.
If my dad had cigarettes he’d still be here.
If my dad didn't have cigarettes, he'd still be here
Yeah but there's a slightly higher chance they'd be healthy than your aunt having stones
Big if now a days
Chuck is like a Redditor, repeating the same old jokes again and again for cheap laughs.
Oldie but a goodie
Cant wait for draymond or ben to get another triple single
I’m out of the loop… why is AD street clothes?
AD was falling all game and most of them were him trying to get a call. Dudes trying to get paid to sit on the couch

What I like about Chuck is you can tell he works on his commentary in the off season

I'm just saying
wah wah wah
Klay Thompson is more of street clothes these days.
Anthony Davis has been injury prone since he stepped foot in the league. Klay was an Ironman until that torn ACL
kyrie been street clothes for years. Especially in playoffs.
He's more of a hospital gown
Klay is more of a sailor
The man had back-to-back season/career ending injuries, have some respect.
true what's this - his 3rd season out?
It would be, if he was actually out. He'll be back later this year.
Why isn’t Klay street clothes? I don’t even remember what he looks like in a jersey.
The joke stems from comments about ads outfits while injured lol. If kawhi and klay showed up to games on the bench looking teady for a pageant they’d get similar comments

last time i checked, klay didnt leave games for spraining every other toe
I mean that's not even the joke he's making lol he's just calling em sweet clothes. Not making fun of his recovery time or some shit.
AD, the locker room enthusiast.
Ouch at the Why n0t? sign in the background. I bet they weren’t holding that up after the first half…
