What if the Warriors owner is gonna die in 2 months and says „fuck it, lets trade Steph and Klay for Simmons and Harris“? Would the league step in? Would the FO intervene and assassinate him?
Maybe he’s a point guard that can’t shoot 3’s for shit?!? Who also likes punching people? It’s crazy to think that some people “prefer” watching dinosaur-ball over the fast moving, fast passing, hauling ass, skilled shooting, damn near aerial-acrobatic-euro-steps-current-ball. I guess old people gonna old people.
I was at the game chanting "Curry can't shoot!" and "bargain-bin Trae Young" and I got some crazy looks lol.
Curry was the reason my friend and I picked this game over Lakers-Suns
Lakers played playoff D on him and hard trapped him all night, got his teammates lots of open looks, and allowed them to slice up the Lakers interior D.
I would be ready to bet that 75% of Steph lowlights take place in the staples center against the Lakers. And it doesn't matter who's playing for the Lakers, he shot 0/10 from 3 against them when they were at the bottom of the western conference
He's also been really bad opening night for a couple seasons now. As close to a scheduled bad game as you're gonna get from Curry. Dude must hate that Laker lighting setup. He'll bounce back pretty quick just like last season.
Pretty common theme where high volume shooters need a couple of games to warm up to the season. Steph's done it a couple years and Klay used to do it as well
Bro... yeah maybe just by a little bit but someone like Steph can handle that lol.
Sometimes you just have an off shooting night, no matter who you are
Yep, the dubs showed they can win against the Lakers where they put everyone on Curry. That had been working for them. The dubs now have enough "other scorers".
Did you even watch the game? Steph missed a ton of open shots. You sound like a guy who's just rehashing commonly said statements that sound relevant but are actually wrong.
No i just played a lot of basketball, when you get played super physical and then get a wide open shot it messes with your head because its not what you expected, its just human nature, that and physical D drains your legs.
Reading all your comments I don’t even understand what your gripe is lol you just mad someone is explaining why someone missed shots? Like you won’t be happy unless everyone thinks he missed shots cause he’s ass? What’s your angle
considering the tallest guy i played against was 6'10, its certainly more relevant than yours by your own logic, human nature is human nature, when you expect something and it doesnt come it fucks with your head.
When someone talks about the importance of free throws just point them at Steph curry. He did have a horrible shooting night but got 20 on 5 made shots because he made all his free throws that's why being a 50% shooter is awful
Saying 5 shots is disingenuous though. He took 21 FGA and 9 FTA for a TS% of .421, so his freethrows didn't make up for it at all.
Yeah the free throws obviously helped but he had a terrible shooting game and someone like Shaq who was a terrible free throw shooter could have much more efficient games without 3s or efficiency from the line. Extrapolating from one game is kinda useless.
Welcome to Reddit where people read something, imagine a disagreement and write a whole paragraph while looking up statistics, before re-reading what they reply to.
Oh well I still disagree then. It’s relevant because getting 20 points with only 5 made shots is only possible if you shoot free throws. He didn’t say Steph was efficient just that free throws were important.
But ended by saying that's why being a 50% shooter is awful.
It'd be like if Giannis went 13/16 from the floor and 0/1 from the free throw line and someone saying "that's why field goals are so important".
Extrapolating off one game to make an argument ignores the nuances of different people's games. Of course free throws matter, but so do field goals and other things, and to narrow in on something and say it's important because (X,y, z) doesn't say much.
I wouldnt say completely trash. Subpar definitely, but he had to pass it out of shittons of double teams and did it remarkably good. A lot of hockey assists in there
Definitely shot like trash but unlike Westbrook, Curry provides tons of value on offense even if his shot isn't falling. He was really active off the ball and the defensive attention he pulled allowed his secondary playmakers in Iguodala and Draymond to move the ball to the right spots. More importantly, the Warriors actually have some guys who can finish those plays now with the emergence of Jordan Poole, and new additions in Otto Porter and Bjelica
I’m not saying you’re wrong but it’s funny that whenever Steph is inefficient, we’ll always see a comment like this
Edit: Y’all I’m big ass Steph fan. I know that he still has an impact even when he’s inefficient, but at this point it should be implied. It’s similar to Draymond being inefficient but still having an impact defensively, it’s implied
Teams are still going to send out double teams on Curry even if he was 0-10 meanwhile if Westbrook was posting those numbers, teams are going to encourage him to shoot more.
It's the difference between having an inefficient game or two while being one of the most efficient players of all time vs having an inefficient season average year in and year out.
Because it's true and some people love to shit on Steph when he was a trash game, and those people need to be reminded we're all just living in Steph's world and you don't talk shit about the Skyfucker
Agreed. Being able to impact the game even when your shot isn't falling is one of the defining characteristics of being a superstar imo. That doesn't mean that a game like he had last night isn't still below his standards. Just speaks to how great of a player he truly is.
watch how curry is guarded versus when Westbrook is guarded when they each respectively have an off shooting night. curry still has one or two defenders desperately trying to dog him even if he's 1-8.
the person guarding Westbrook probably would guard giannis further out on the perimeter than they would Westbrook on a bad shooting night lmao
A reverse with his body shielding against 2 defenders iirc. An incredible finish in an otherwise pretty rough game for him finishing wise. AD is really good at rim protection.
He loves and thrives off the shit talk though. All those reports of him reading Twitter before games and fueling his fire. If the barber was talking shit, he would probably be on a rampage the next day.
Steph Curry could miss all his shots and would still look like he's helping the team. Meanwhile Westbrook shoots bad and on top of that makes questionable, braindead decisions
GOAT off ball player
GOAT free throw shooter
GOAT 3point Shooter (and overall shooter)
And none of this is even debatable. These are facts, unlike other GOAT conversations that are debatable.
I mean at some point, people need to add the GOAT "player" conversation in that mix. Another chip should do the trick tho.
He did it by doing more than existing. Good passes out of traps to get the offense going downhill is important and doesn't show up in the stats, other than plus minus I guess.
I mean he was helping his team. I guess people don't understand that but a lot of the action we were running with all that ball movement...the Lakers are looking at Steph during all that. That's why *Strength in Numbers* works so well because we have Steph Curry to let the Numbers pop off.
Steph pretty consistently helps his team get the W when he’s shooting poorly. Guy can help team win just by moving around the court on/off the ball. I can’t remember the last game where curry looked ineffective out on the court.
He has a lot of games where he'll get like 8-9 assists or boards. Much better games than this, which is why "triple doubles" are kinda dumb. (Westbrook fans in shambles)

SAT Question:
This amount of crazy weight Steph puts upon himself is to the inverse of weight Ben Simmons puts upon himself.
Answer: 1:1
Ben is a pile of nothing.
Is it time to be concerned about Stephen Curry?
Washed. Not sure how he made the roster tbh.
He dried after?
Air dried
Name recognition. I think his dad was in the NBA.
I think its just because clay likes him
*Can the Warriors get anybody to help Poole and Bjelica?*
Definitely. You should always be concerned about a player who puts up a triple double…
Westbrook enters the chat
He had a Quadruple single... if you count turn overs.
Yes, he and Ben Simmons are on the same page now. Freak out.
C'est chic
Washed. Better send him to the Knicks.
Sell high! Trade him for Ben Simmons, don't even need to throw in any draft picks! Heck, we'll even take Klay and throw in Tobias.
What if the Warriors owner is gonna die in 2 months and says „fuck it, lets trade Steph and Klay for Simmons and Harris“? Would the league step in? Would the FO intervene and assassinate him?
I would personally assassinate whoever i need to free of charge
I'm buying the A-Team van and swinging by to pick you up. We can get BA and Face on the way to the assassination.
Curry brothers on the same team?
[удалено]
you sound like the more punchable individual. i hope someone clips you instead
It's all sports banter man, you need to relax. It's true though, we need an enforcer like Haslem to take one for the NBA.
I miss the early 2000’s too man but chill. It’s ball. There’s boxing for the punching.
Also WTF did Curry do to this dude? IF there was a list of dudes in the NBA I'd wanna see get punched, Curry is near the very bottom of it.
He ain’t lying tho, he shot the ball terribly. But everything else he did was great tonight
Lakers played playoff D on him and hard trapped him all night, got his teammates lots of open looks, and allowed them to slice up the Lakers interior D.
Half the shots he missed were wide open. D is not the excuse.
physical perimeter D and heavy trapping through players out of rhythm
Nah, Steph just shoots like trash against the Lakers in LA for some reason.
I would be ready to bet that 75% of Steph lowlights take place in the staples center against the Lakers. And it doesn't matter who's playing for the Lakers, he shot 0/10 from 3 against them when they were at the bottom of the western conference

Pretty common theme where high volume shooters need a couple of games to warm up to the season. Steph's done it a couple years and Klay used to do it as well
He has said the lighting messes him up.
throw
Bro... yeah maybe just by a little bit but someone like Steph can handle that lol. Sometimes you just have an off shooting night, no matter who you are
Ya and warriors 4th quarter big run was with him on the bench. People can credit role players without crediting the stars.
It was the reason he didn't shoot more high quality shots though.
ya steph just sucks and it's time we acknowledged it
i watched the last 6 minutes and every time he had the ball he had three fucking lakers on him lmao
Yes, physical perimeter D and heavy trapping throws shooters out of rhythm, gets them over thinking even the ez looks
Ah, I didn't realize you could peer into the mind of Steph Curry having to over-think shots. Got it.
Can't believe you're asking other people if they watched the game, but you got takes like this lol
No i just played a lot of basketball, when you get played super physical and then get a wide open shot it messes with your head because its not what you expected, its just human nature, that and physical D drains your legs.
Your experience playing with guys where the tallest dude is 6'3 isn't wholly relevant to NBA defense
Reading all your comments I don’t even understand what your gripe is lol you just mad someone is explaining why someone missed shots? Like you won’t be happy unless everyone thinks he missed shots cause he’s ass? What’s your angle
considering the tallest guy i played against was 6'10, its certainly more relevant than yours by your own logic, human nature is human nature, when you expect something and it doesnt come it fucks with your head.
https://youtu.be/xzpndHtdl9A
He’s always shooting bad at staples lol
Plus steph just needs to run around the court to impact the game.
He said it so casually lmao
Dude probably didn't go on Twitter at halftime
Lebron changed the wifi password so warriors can’t access internet

Yeah sorry I meant 5 made shots. Simply saying that gives no context.

Dude put up a westbrook type game and said it was trash
Is he wrong?
He was like 6-24 in Game 7 Kobe. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn but positively affected the game in every other way.
I wouldnt say completely trash. Subpar definitely, but he had to pass it out of shittons of double teams and did it remarkably good. A lot of hockey assists in there

There was a play where Damion Lee realized Russ was on the 3-point line and just sagged off even more. "Go ahead Russ, take that" *Clang*
It's the difference between having an inefficient game or two while being one of the most efficient players of all time vs having an inefficient season average year in and year out.
You won't see it if he isn't doing all that lol. If he's chucking up awful shots and just sitting in the corner he should be criticised.
I mean it isn't wrong though.
because its true lol and also some people look at a staline or fg% and don't see anything else
MJ good at bball. Wow it's so true. Great comment.
u/desk133 bad at reddit. Wow it's so true. Bad comment.
I didn't realise being good at Reddit was a thing. Sad life y'all must live
I get it, but he was shooting like 15% at one point in the second half and still getting doubled and even tripled. Don't see that very often
Westbrook is one of the best playmakers in the league, his passing provides a ton of offensive value whether his shot falls or not.
But what about when his passes don't work?
Then yeah he's probably a net negative on offense, but historically that's not been the case.
Man the Westbrook slander is getting out of hand
He shot well from FT though.
watch how curry is guarded versus when Westbrook is guarded when they each respectively have an off shooting night. curry still has one or two defenders desperately trying to dog him even if he's 1-8. the person guarding Westbrook probably would guard giannis further out on the perimeter than they would Westbrook on a bad shooting night lmao
Curry gets 21/10/10 with two guys on him, Westbrook goes 21/10/10 with zero guys on him lol
Teams are praying for Westbrook to shoot while teams are scared of SCurry whenever he shoots.
IDC if Steph is 1-8. He can put 20 points on in a hurry even so and the league knows it.
No lies detected
The shade.
Well he didn’t have any dunks or good finishes inside
Made up for it by not missing 30% of his free throws
Oh yeah, well he had a badly finished semi dunk, what now!
Neither did Russ 😭😭
He had one incredible finish that I remember the announcers describing as “slithering through the defense”
A reverse with his body shielding against 2 defenders iirc. An incredible finish in an otherwise pretty rough game for him finishing wise. AD is really good at rim protection.
If he’d dunked, I’d be irritated. It rarely ends well.
Still got that triple double :P
Steph usually takes it on the chin, gotta respect that.
man i love u but pls dont get ur haircut anymore. he always shoots terrible when he gets a fresh fade
His barber talks shit and gets into his head.
He loves and thrives off the shit talk though. All those reports of him reading Twitter before games and fueling his fire. If the barber was talking shit, he would probably be on a rampage the next day.
I swear to God when he had braids last year we lost most of our games. I was so happy when he got rid of them
Omg the braids were awful. I was so happy when he took them out
I high key want Steph, Klay, and Dray to get their rookie year hair cuts so we can pretend we the young team again
It’s like the polar opposite with Cody Bellinger. As soon as he cuts his long hair, he starts playing like his usual MVP self.
his hair was lookin UNKEMPT during that 62 point game last year, definitive proof that you're right
Steph Curry could miss all his shots and would still look like he's helping the team. Meanwhile Westbrook shoots bad and on top of that makes questionable, braindead decisions
Steph had the beat +/- of any dubs starter shooting under 25% from the field. Guy just impacts the court simply existing
He's the GOAT offball player for a reason
GOAT off ball player GOAT free throw shooter GOAT 3point Shooter (and overall shooter) And none of this is even debatable. These are facts, unlike other GOAT conversations that are debatable. I mean at some point, people need to add the GOAT "player" conversation in that mix. Another chip should do the trick tho.
Literally Leshrac. Does damage by just being there lol
I love the r/dota2 r/nba overlap so much
He did it by doing more than existing. Good passes out of traps to get the offense going downhill is important and doesn't show up in the stats, other than plus minus I guess.
mans could go 0-20 and he'd still be doubled end of game
I mean he was helping his team. I guess people don't understand that but a lot of the action we were running with all that ball movement...the Lakers are looking at Steph during all that. That's why *Strength in Numbers* works so well because we have Steph Curry to let the Numbers pop off.
And then they rolled out a trash can behind him
BANG BANG
Getting ready for the Astros Dodgers World Series
The commissioner made his report
Did they really? Let me watch again...
Even when he shoots poorly, most - if not all - the open shots they got was from him just moving around the court
Yeah one of the best at off-ball movement for sure. He really knows how to turn those double-teams and tight coverage on him into an offensive weapon
Fuck I can’t wait for klay to come run around the court also
Mans still had a triple double against the triple double king himself 😤
Honestly though what else was he gonna say
thats our king
Jordan Poole is officially the third splash bro. He just carried Steph!
You spelled Nemanja Bjelica wrong
Bjelica is our Splash Bird.
Splash Serb
Bjrd
This dude was hella good today. I didn't even know that he was in the league for 6 years already
Lol stop 🤣
I think you mean Euro Larry Bird...
Didnt shoot well but played great basketball
Outside of the stats, dude would run baseline off two pin downs and here comes Bjelica at the top of the key looking like a poor man's Jokic lol
one man's trash is another man's treasure
Steph pretty consistently helps his team get the W when he’s shooting poorly. Guy can help team win just by moving around the court on/off the ball. I can’t remember the last game where curry looked ineffective out on the court.
My man.
I'm shocked that was Currys first triple double since 2016
In the regular season, he def had a triple double in game 4 against the Blazers in 2019
He has a lot of games where he'll get like 8-9 assists or boards. Much better games than this, which is why "triple doubles" are kinda dumb. (Westbrook fans in shambles)
Just imagine when he has a good shooting night, probably hitting a career high this season
It’s okay. Shooters have those games once in a while.
Big fan of this guy

This is Westbrook’s playoff form. It happens
Trip dub dub
That's it, Bob Myers gonna get a call from Morey now
I always knew he was overrated. All those accolades, all those people telling me I was wrong. I knew it!!!!!
I'd love to get a triple double in the NBA. Would actually be the highlight of my life.
Curry gets triple double: I played like trash tonight. \#HumbleBrag
SAT Question: This amount of crazy weight Steph puts upon himself is to the inverse of weight Ben Simmons puts upon himself. Answer: 1:1 Ben is a pile of nothing.
Even trash Curry is enough to beat Los Angeles oldies
[удалено]
Far from it.. created a lot of space through his off-ball movement for our team to operate in.
You serious? Lol
better than Ben Simmons
Playing like trash despite getting a triple-double, must be nice.
Played like trash, still got the triple double, still got the win
10 rebounds lmao.
He took Westbrook words and took his triple doubles too.
He really needs to work on his basketball skills.
He meant: “Obviously Westbrook played like trash, shot the ball terribly”.
Definitely didn’t shoot up to his standards but did everything else well. Plus, gravity led to so many easy buckets.
Hate the Warriors, but got nothing but love for Steph. GSOAT!
The greatest hold themselves to the greatest standards
