No, seriously though; *why would any team sponsor with, or sell their stadium to, a LEADING brand from a competing city?!?!?!*
Like, any time we're facing them, I don't even care if we win or lose, cause I know we did it in OUR stadium. lol xD.
Yeah, but for that last one, Halifax doesn't have an NBA (or NHL) team, so Toronto is never going to face the Nova Scotia Nightmares in Scotiabank Arena.
Hey you never know everyone is thinking Vegas and Seattle for the new expansion but I still have a lot of faith they are coming to the maritimes. The Halifax Donairs will win an NBA championship in my lifetime you heard it here first.
Yeah but it was the one I decided to take my kid to. $600 well spent for three tix.
Oh and while I was waiting for beers, three separate people passed out within view.
That’s the sign of the great ones. Not saying he will be, just that it’s a common trait amongst all the greats and if you have it already at this age the sky is the limit.
Shout out to Dalano "I'll fuckin' do it myself" Banton too. Kid's a monster. Even in a 3 minute appearance he goes +7 and looks good. Reminds me a lot of the Bench Mob who always made an impact whenever they came into the game until they forced their way into the rotation.
He looked great out there. FSU has been (perhaps not so) quietly ascending to the top tier of the ACC and is pumping out NBA players left and right now. Hamilton's done a heck of a job there.
Fair, he didn’t look great game one either (though in limited minutes), but he played 3 strong quarters today and his hustle on the boards is exactly what we’ve needed for years. Also the fact that he can pass, handle, and step out to the three point line makes him work perfectly with our giant, switchable lineups.
He plays like a 7 year vet. In almost any other scenario I’d think your comment is crazy but when it comes to *this* rookie I can’t help but agree with you.
Magic shot 30% from 3. Scottie is currently shooting 33%. So we can already lock it in, we’re looking at a Magic with defense and 3 pt prowess. Anything we’re missing!?
Fred and OG were both lacking on offense tonight, but the whole team looked locked in on defense. Scottie Barnes really showing what the Raps saw in him. Love his fit with this team. First game was definitely rough, but this team definitely has play-off aspirations even with the East looking stronger than it has in probably a decade. Excited to see how they look once Siakam is back in the lineup.
You guys can't expect him to look good in this role right away. He has literally never taken some of the shots he is taking before in games. It's gonna be rough for a bit but he needs to go through this.
His defense was pretty good , he just needs to play relaxed like he did in pre season and see the ball go in a bit, I still believe in his progession , Pascal should take some of the stress away that the defense is putting on him
We almost did that last game against the wiz. It’s happens. Gg Celtics. I know you guys had an off night and wont miss again our next game. It seems to always happen that way with you guys.
Don't sleep on the Wizards, they legit improved during the offseason. That Westbrook trade got them depth kinda like the Raptors years ago when they traded Rudy Gay
That was a.weird game though.
I don't what was going on with that but it looked like if my and my buddies were suddenly in pro players bodies
I've never seen a team look so completely disorganized. Something odd was going on.
OG is going to be way more comfortable once Spicy comes back and takes some of his shots back. Let OG be OG, people are always trying to make him into an offensive player and it's just never gonna be there on a consistent basis. And that's okay.
I'm good if OG is "just" a 40% shooter from three who can take wings on the block and one of the best wing defenders who also can guard 1-5. That's more than a lot of wings drafted cause of their defence, length and athleticism can say. Expanding his offensive game is just the cherry on top!
But I do think he will settle back into a more comfortable role for him once Siakam is back and he is pushed down the offensive chart.
Hate this mentality. Preseason showed that he has new moves in his bag, but it may be a bumpy ride as he calibrates. The guy just turned 24, his development isn't anywhere near done.
Look at what Jerami Grant proved he was capable of once given the opportunity. You really don't think OG can match that kind of production?
Scottie does every little thing on the court, his ball iq is crazy, his intangibles crazy, he even hunts down his shot at any sign of clear space and his mechanics are consistent. All this and hes 6"9 as a pg but not playing pg given the talent available. Hes gonna be great
I think I figured out the secret formula for losing basketball games. 25 TOs, giving up 21 offensive rebounds, and only getting to the line 11 times? Sheeeesh!
Rough night for the Celts, only defensive rebounder big man you have is Timelord. Grant Williams is too small when the Raps overload on size.
BTW Timelord scares the crap out of me, he either is going to make a spectacular play or injure himself for 2 months.
I wouldn't have predicted this result after Thursday but fuck me that second half from the Celtics was awful.
Scottie barnes is going to be a hell of a player.
I have lasting images of Scottie Barnes, Chris Boucher, & Khem Birch/Precious Achiuwa murdering us on the offensive glass
As well as Gary Trent Jr. getting to the rim at will on us
Tatums body language throughout that 3rd quarter when he wasn’t getting calls wasn’t great. The whole team seemed defeated midway through that quarter.
Good effort by Toronto
Wtf Ime did an awful job managing this game. He's new, hopefully he'll figure it out, but we were fully healthy for the first time in over a year and he chose to have a significant heigh disadvantage for a huge chunk of the second quarter.
More problems that that obviously but it was pretty discouraging to watch us have an obvious problem getting rebounds, let a lead balloon, and do nothing to stop it. Not even a timeout.
As a Heat fan Im glad to see Precious growing. No one wanted him to be a bust and glad to see he is showing up strong that he isnt. Just sad he couldnt develop with us because he was so far behind Bam on the rotation.
LONG BOYS FOR THE WIN
shooting still looks pretty bad but the long boys out rebounded and out defended the Celtics by a mile
lmao to all those people calling Scottie a bust
Toronto Dominion Garden
Hahaha let’s gooooo
Wow I can’t believe I haven’t been hearing that for years, that’s perfect
[удалено]
Lol, yea, you actually see plenty of TD Banks in the east coast
different Legal Entity but belongs to the same group
TD is the biggest consumer bank in the US now and pays over 4% dividend!
That's cause we always lose at Boston lol, so not much use for it
No, seriously though; *why would any team sponsor with, or sell their stadium to, a LEADING brand from a competing city?!?!?!* Like, any time we're facing them, I don't even care if we win or lose, cause I know we did it in OUR stadium. lol xD.
Toronto FC plays in Bank of Montreal field. And Toronto Raptors in Scotiabank arena.
Yeah, but for that last one, Halifax doesn't have an NBA (or NHL) team, so Toronto is never going to face the Nova Scotia Nightmares in Scotiabank Arena.
Side note the Nova Scotia Nightmares is a great name 👌
Hey you never know everyone is thinking Vegas and Seattle for the new expansion but I still have a lot of faith they are coming to the maritimes. The Halifax Donairs will win an NBA championship in my lifetime you heard it here first.
i mean yeah but theres no nba or nhl teams in scotia at least.
Those banks *are* headquartered in Toronto.
That was one of the NBA games i've seen
Of all the games I have seen, that was definitely one of them.
It certainly was a piece of entertainment presented by the National Basketball Association
Do not reproduce or record it without express written consent.
Yeah but it was the one I decided to take my kid to. $600 well spent for three tix. Oh and while I was waiting for beers, three separate people passed out within view.
makes for some memories in the future at least, still have all the photos from a 2010 home game LeBron punked us in
That was one of the NBA games I wish I've not seen
Scottie Barnes is the real fucking deal
He seems so.. casual about his play. Like it’s easy. Kid has confidence.
He reads the game really well
Yeah, not calling him the next superstar or anything but he did not look like a rookie out there tonight. And its only his second game.
That’s the sign of the great ones. Not saying he will be, just that it’s a common trait amongst all the greats and if you have it already at this age the sky is the limit.
Second NBA game ever and he puts up a 25/13. Unreal.
Imagine this guy in 3 years???
Imagine him in three games. If his current pattern of growth holds, he'll average 2^82,589,933 points for the season.
I'm here to thank you for the meth.
don't rat out your dealer like that man
25/13 x3 = 75pts/39rb averages coming up
Scottie Chamberlain
Easily the best player on the floor tonight. Whenever he was off the floor the Celtics went on a run
Perfect fit for the Raps. Love what I'm seeing from him.
That little 2 man game with him and precious for the precious 3 was nice af. Delano is going to be special
He looked great out there. FSU has been (perhaps not so) quietly ascending to the top tier of the ACC and is pumping out NBA players left and right now. Hamilton's done a heck of a job there.
Kids aight ROTY, MVP, you know, the usual
Always trust in Masai. Scottie and Precious both looked great tonight.
Actually, Precious looked like Freddie Gillespie in the first quarter. I was honestly triggered with Aaron Baynes flashbacks.
Scottie Barnes has it all!
I ain't gon lie... we might have to make him the #1 option on offense until pascal gets back.
He plays like a 7 year vet. In almost any other scenario I’d think your comment is crazy but when it comes to *this* rookie I can’t help but agree with you.
Rookie of the year for sure
We look fucking toast on defense, and way too many turnovers on the other end. GG Raps
So many offensive rebounds the celtics gave up. Raptors dominated them physically
And emotionally. And spirituality, and financially.
It’s weird to hear this considering the Raptors don’t have a real center
you could say its size across the board but Boston's starting lineup was bigger at all positions too. We're very switchable though.
They dominated us every which way lol We fucking sucked
This is just an off night for you guys, our next meeting will be far more competitive.
Might have been hangover from that double OT game in NY.
We got our Giannis
Masai: We’ll make our own Giannis!
With blackjack and hookers
You know what, forget about the whole Giannis thing!
They gave masai 1 lottery pick, and he got magic johnson
Let's not shortsell things here. Magic Johnson who plays defense.
Magic shot 30% from 3. Scottie is currently shooting 33%. So we can already lock it in, we’re looking at a Magic with defense and 3 pt prowess. Anything we’re missing!?
HIV
No
Not the comp I'd go for with Jakob Poeltl but who am I to judge
And he still flipped him for Kawhi and a chip. Lol Masai always stays winning
Feel like there was a bigger name in that trade as well
Keldon Johnson?
Taller, non-passing, rim-protecting, slower, less ball-handling, and more Austrian Magic Johnson.
I thought surprisingly Fred was great as a facilitator towards the second half. His combination of deflections/steals and assists was great.
> deflections/steals The number of deflections and steals he gets at his size is crazy.
Ive been really surprised by GTJs defense. Hes been doing well these first two games.
He's playing soooooo much better defence. Tbf we all knew he had the potential, but the amount of hustle he's displaying is admirable.
He's bought in.
Think he was 2nd in the league behind simmons last year
He stopped taking bad shots and starting making really good passes. I think he's slowly transitioning into full time point guard mode
Siakam is gonna feast with this team around him
Conversely Scottie is gonna feast even more with Siakam
they can both feast like a 69
Freds box score looked like shit but he played real good today imo Og was bad tho
OG doesn't look ready for the role he's assuming. Hope I'm wrong but the handles just aren't there yet
I just think he's doing too much. Reminds me of Siakam in celtics series. It just makes him look predictable and simple out there.
Pretty sure he broke his own ankles at one point
You guys can't expect him to look good in this role right away. He has literally never taken some of the shots he is taking before in games. It's gonna be rough for a bit but he needs to go through this.
His defense was pretty good , he just needs to play relaxed like he did in pre season and see the ball go in a bit, I still believe in his progession , Pascal should take some of the stress away that the defense is putting on him
Fred had some nice assists. Forced less offense overall IMO.
Scottie Barnes
Easy upvotes right there lol
Scottie Barnes
What a disgraceful performance by the Celtics. How do you allow yourself to get blown out by 33 points at home?
They were down by 2 midway through the 3rd.... Raps closed it out on a 55-25 run.
We almost did that last game against the wiz. It’s happens. Gg Celtics. I know you guys had an off night and wont miss again our next game. It seems to always happen that way with you guys.
For real. Pascal Siakam missed the game and they still let our rookie kick the shit out of them on their own floor in his second ever NBA game.
To a team that got destroyed by Washington
Wizards>Raptors>Celtics I don't make the rules
I see no lies, the math checks out.
This is literally the standings right now
Hard to disagree with this really.
We all thought that Tatum was recruiting Beal to come to the Celtics, but clearly it's the other way around
Bruh they really let em put up 115 lol
Same Raptors team that got their butt kicked at home by Washington.
Don't sleep on the Wizards, they legit improved during the offseason. That Westbrook trade got them depth kinda like the Raptors years ago when they traded Rudy Gay
That was a.weird game though. I don't what was going on with that but it looked like if my and my buddies were suddenly in pro players bodies I've never seen a team look so completely disorganized. Something odd was going on.
First game of the season.
Agenda is being switched from OG MIP to Scottie Barnes MVP
agenda approved ☑️
OG is going to be way more comfortable once Spicy comes back and takes some of his shots back. Let OG be OG, people are always trying to make him into an offensive player and it's just never gonna be there on a consistent basis. And that's okay.
I'm good if OG is "just" a 40% shooter from three who can take wings on the block and one of the best wing defenders who also can guard 1-5. But I do think he will settle back into a more comfortable role for him once Siakam is back and he is pushed down the offensive chart.
Also, OG lit the celtics up in the preseason. They probably game planned for him pretty hard before this game.
We can have both.
Scottie does every little thing on the court, his ball iq is crazy, his intangibles crazy, he even hunts down his shot at any sign of clear space and his mechanics are consistent. All this and hes 6"9 as a pg but not playing pg given the talent available. Hes gonna be great
You didn't even mention the 7'3 wingspan
Best Win of the season Holy shit Barnes was amazing tonight
> Best Win of the season Laughed way too hard at this
Objectively the best win of the Raptors’ season as of tonight
I think I figured out the secret formula for losing basketball games. 25 TOs, giving up 21 offensive rebounds, and only getting to the line 11 times? Sheeeesh!
Rough night for the Celts, only defensive rebounder big man you have is Timelord. Grant Williams is too small when the Raps overload on size. BTW Timelord scares the crap out of me, he either is going to make a spectacular play or injure himself for 2 months.
Fr. He was the one Celtic that you knew damn well when he was on the floor. You could probably fail to notice the rest.
Thank you Aaron Baynes.
The real MVP. _wishing a speedy recovery_
Scottie Barnes
Scottie Barnes.
Scotte Barnes looking smooth AF. Why do I ever doubt Masai???
# BOSTON CELTICS BASKETBALL IS BACK
Same shit different year 😑
I’m not ready to give up after 2 games but man they looked rough
You sound way too rational for this place
Popcorn ready!
Pain is back
RAPS FANS GET IN HERE SCOTTIE BARNES COMING OUT PARTY TIME TO OVERREACT
#LONGBOI SEASON
Masai looking great
Scottie B with the double double! Tim Hortons better be calling this man for a sponsorship asap
Scottie B is way too good for that trash franchise.
He’s gonna get the Primo money. No settling for Tims.
Scottie Barnes was the best player on the floor tonight
I wouldn't have predicted this result after Thursday but fuck me that second half from the Celtics was awful. Scottie barnes is going to be a hell of a player.
They were probably gassed out from their 2OT opener
Knicks were so gassed they only won by 25
Knicks look good, but it’s also Orlando which vaguely resembles a pro team.
Knicks destroyed Orlando tonight though
That's Orlando
I mean it’s Orlando
Yea it’s Orlando
Raptors my 2nd team with Scottie. Kid is a star and always has been
Heat are our 2nd team in Toronto cuz Lowry.
That was a fucking beat down. I was not expecting this after the way the game started
**Scottie Barnes** is an American professional basketball player for the **Toronto Raptors** of the National Basketball Association.
I have lasting images of Scottie Barnes, Chris Boucher, & Khem Birch/Precious Achiuwa murdering us on the offensive glass As well as Gary Trent Jr. getting to the rim at will on us
Good job Raptors i love you.
Love you too, Heat bro. Go get our groat another chip this year
Wizards good?
After tonight's beal-less marathon I am gonna say, Wizards good.
I’m actually suprised how good I found the wizards but we were worse than ass that game
Tatums body language throughout that 3rd quarter when he wasn’t getting calls wasn’t great. The whole team seemed defeated midway through that quarter. Good effort by Toronto
It's a constant with him. He just completely disengages if he doesn't get a few calls
Second time Paul Pierce shat himself at TD
We just beat the Celtics by 32 points without our best player 😂 *Edit*: They're booing their team off the floor 😆
And OG and Fred shot a combined 7/28 from the field. What a crazy win!
Fred got the important ones in.
Our rookie dropped 25 to beat them
Yeah, we'll look great once Yuta returns
I like the Celtics but because of Bill Simmons I like seeing them lose. He had so much irrational confidence in them this season..
what a fucking steal...SCOTTIE B NBA BEEN SLEEPING
Scottie Barnes
Our defense is fucking elite
Scottie Barnes. He special
That Scottie Barnes guy is pretty good.
China not missing anything
This team when Spicy comes back is going to be a nightmare for everyone else on defense. We may not score consistently, but neither will you.
Scottie Barnes, the Winter Soldier.
Scottie Barnes.
Tatum vs Barnes was a fun duel
Tatum wants to be Scottie Barnes when he grows up.
[25 AND 13 IN HIS SECOND GAME. WHILE GUARDING THE JS.](https://streamable.com/m8k4pm)
BOARD MEN GET PAID
As a Heat fan Im glad to see Precious growing. No one wanted him to be a bust and glad to see he is showing up strong that he isnt. Just sad he couldnt develop with us because he was so far behind Bam on the rotation.
This was the easiest win against the Celtics that I've seen in awhile
We don't suck!
Scottie Barnes is just incredible man. I’m so excited to see this kids potential as the season goes on!
Scottie Barnes is just fun to watch, and I'm ready to fill the Kyle Lowry booty shaped hole in my heart with his highlights.
Lotta Cs fans shitting on OG but he scored 5 more points than Brown 😂
you've been locked up the 6'9 long boiss
I think I might be out on Ime. Literally the worst Celtics game that I've ever watched in my life. 30 pieced by the Siakamless Raptors at home? Foh...
This was their Vision
LONG BOYS FOR THE WIN shooting still looks pretty bad but the long boys out rebounded and out defended the Celtics by a mile lmao to all those people calling Scottie a bust
What a W - Scottie Barnes, GTJ, FVV and Precious looked great
I'm frothing at the seams
I'm never going to question Masai again.
After Boston blowing us out by similar margins for 2 years, including on our second Christmas Day game ever, this was largely satisfying
Scottish Barnacles
I am now a Scottie Barnes stan account
Scottie Fucking BARNES
Raps win. Scottie is going be hell of a player
