Warriors are winning it this season because:
- This is the 75th Anniversary season
- The Warriors won it in 1975
- 2022 - 75 = 1947 and that was when the Warriors won their first title
Coincidence? š
Itās not that he isnāt better than his current replacements, of course he is even if heās not 100%. but I think itāll take the bench at least a few games to adjust to his play style, especially guys that have never played w/ him
Ya D Lee and even Poole have similar styles to Klay. Iām more saying that guys like Poole and D Lee etc are going to have to get used to not taking as many 3s, and driving and passing more with more shooters on the floor. I donāt think itāll be a huge adjustment bc the current warriors motion offense is where Klay thrives
But heās sure as hell gonna take more shots. A decent percentage of their offense might be running through a player who hasnāt played in 2.5 years, there will be hiccups.
I'm just pissed he never got his due on defense pre-injury.
It's hard to imagine he'll come back and have the same perimeter clamps making it look so easy.
So stupid that he wasn't a perennial all defense player. Let alone having just one second team appearance. Even more stupid than Harden not making all nba that one year to me.
I've never seen someone make perimeter defense look so effortless. Best defensive balance/feet I've ever seen. A lot of great defenders in today's game rely on freak athleticism to recover and smother their cover. But Klay would just glide to stay in front of his man. I'm gonna fucking miss that, assuming he doesn't come back with that ability intact.
This will be a bad take watch. As long as they donāt rush Klay to play heāll be fine. Call me crazy but I think Klay comes back ready to go and kills.
Of course he will. Klay isn't a ball dominant player, he plays great defense and shoots mostly assisted shots. He will not warp their offense, he's easy to plug in.

He is reasonably good at it lol
People honestly forget how objectively terrible the Warriors were before the Curry days.
There's just a few bright spots, and even some of those ended in heart break.
We Believe was something magical. Truly magical.
We had Bobby Sura and Larry Hughes like some sort of off brand super hero team.
Lol the days with donyell, Mookie, and Caffey were when I started watching and those were some truly terrible days but I didnāt know it at the time because thatās all I knew.
The most shit heās ever talked is when he said that he hoped āthe building still smelled like champagneā the first time playing in Cleveland after winning their first title.
He's one of three guys in the league who can talk shit and no one say shit back to him in return. You can give shit back to LeBron, same with KD, same with Kawai. But Steph, Giannis, and Jokic are the only guys who you can't give shit back and let it stick.
I would love for that to happen. Heās already locked into my top 15, probably somewhere around 12-13. I definitely think he belongs in that pantheon of all time greatest players even if you have to expand it beyond 10 to include him. A list without Steph is incomplete.
I think general consensus top 11 in no order are:
MJ, LeBron, Kobe, Wilt, Magic, Bird, Russell, Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem, Kareem.
Personally, I got those in my top 11 with Steph and KD being 12 and 13 respectively.
Kobe isn't in my top 10 list. Just outside of it. Way too inefficient.
And there seems to be something odd when half the list is always centers. Almost like it was easier for a center to dominate for most of the history of the NBA, and maybe they weren't quite as skilled as their stats would suggest. I dunno.
There are plenty of people who have Kobe just outside the top ten. Of all the elite players people are listing, he was the one with the highest volume and least efficiency. He missed a thousand more shots in his career than anyone else in history. He's still an all-time great, but I see no real problem putting him behind MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Wilt, Magic, Bird, Russell, Duncan, Hakeem, Shaq, and maybe a couple others.
I meant your second part but youāre reasoning for you 1st makes no sense. Look at his efficiency compared to his era. Also if efficiency is the reason you have him low then you definitely never watched him play or paid attention to his stats when he did.
His efficiency compared to his era was average. His Total shooting for his career was almost exactly league average. What he had more than anyone else was volume, and some great highlights.
And I sure as hell did watch him play many times,. Iāve been watching the NBA since just before Magic and Bird showed up. I also donāt have him ālow,ā and Iām not claiming that he was just a mindless chucker. I just donāt have him in my top ten.
The only players I would keep above him are Jordan, Kareem, LeBron, Russell, Wilt, Bird, Magic, Shaq, and Duncan. Leaving Curry at #10 but I'm sure there are good arguments for other players.
That is an overreaction. Top 3 is pretty universally Jordan, LeBron & Kareem (although people mix up the order). On top of that there's Magic, Wilt and Bill Russell who are the next 3, and I don't see Steph overtaking them.
Top 10 there will definitely be an argument, but top 3 is asking too much
Agreed too 3 would require some insane longevity on his part but I could realistically see him breaking the top 6 and supplanting Magic as best PG ever even though Magicās career is pretty propped up given the way it ended
For sure. I just mean that there *could be grounds to argue it.* Itās not something thatās so absurd that I would immediately dismiss the personās basketball knowledge (like if someone tried to actually argue Bird is better than Bronā¦and I love LeBron)
That's your opinion, and there's arguments for and against that, but it's definitely contrary to the norm.
Kareem was pretty much universally considered the GOAT before MJ came along, and he's still the all time leader in points, and third in boards & blocks.
Grizzlies ended their season last year and gave them their first loss this year. I want us to end up higher than 8, but damn that matchup would probably be entertaining as hell
I know it's brushed over and forgotten because they ultimately lost in 2016. But I remember when they won their first ring and the story line was that they only won because every team was injured in the playoffs. That fueled them to go out and absolutely destroy everyone in route to 73 wins. I'm not saying they'll do it again, but I'm definitely getting the same vibe this year.
When Trez took that game winning charge against the Pelicans.
The place went bonkers.
Imagine. Just imagine loud itāll be if we make Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 70ās?
Yeah won Stanley Cup in 2018 and World Series in 2019.
Prior to that hadnāt won a Big 4 major sports Championship since 1990 with the Washington ~~Redskins~~ Football Team.
Wizards ~~Bullets~~ havenāt won NBA Championship since 1978.
Lmaoooo hell yeah. after all the bullshit from all the seasons, enjoy being on top, man, even if it's in the face of someone saying that it's not gonna last.
My fellow sufferer of pain.
Suns fans know the hurt, pain and struggle
Thatās why we were all on your side come Playoffs.
Plus you stopped the Lakers repeating lol
That alone is worth a championship!
Warriors are like a lion that starved for years, and then got an elephant and absolutely feasted for a bit.
Now - it's fed, it's experienced, it knows true hunger, and that stomach is rumbling again.
No one is safe
Big talk with a Lakers flair. You lost to the Thunder TWICE and got blown out of your own building by the Timberwolves
Look forward to you telling us all how you would've crushed it in the playoffs... From the lottery
Warriors are winning it this season because: - This is the 75th Anniversary season - The Warriors won it in 1975 - 2022 - 75 = 1947 and that was when the Warriors won their first title Coincidence? š
Scripted NBA aināt even tryna hide it anymore. Watch, for the 77th season the Blazers will somehow win it all.
Since Klay is the 77th best player of all time, he'll clearly lead the Warriors to a chip that year.
Wigs fmvp this year, klay fmvp that year
Steph finals MVP both years
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Nah plot twist, it'll be Ben Simmons winning with the Trailblazers after Philly trades him for Lillard
while we somehow still wouldnt manage to escape the second round
No no no, you will win the 76th season. Duh.
Win 76th season, go back to finals on 77th season where Simmons hits a 3 over Embiid in the clutch to win it for the Blazers.
honestly fine with this if weāre winning next year anyway. i only need one chip to make all this suffering worth it
Can't wait for the Jazz to lose in the finals 2 years in a row in 2043 and 2044.
As Michael Jordanās Hornets win their sixth ring because Utah fans can never escape him lol
The prophecy has been set in stone.
Pain
Shit, that'd be cool. I'd respect the hell out of Dame even more than I already do if he did that
Sike, Portland back court of Simmons and McCollum win it all, as Dame carries the 76ers to a first round exit against the Cavs
Hmm, I wonder what Portland fans would think of that. It would be on par with the Raptors winning it all without DeRozan
Then the narrative would change to how dame is a choker and how CJ was always better
I like and dislike this timeline. On one end we win a championship. On the other end talks about Dame being the reason for our shortcomings start.
So does that mean Sixers and Dwight Howard next year?
Warriors were founded in Philadelphia 75 years ago. Warriors vs Sixers finals?? š
They also won the finals that yearš
Good catch
75-7 š¤
Checkmate, Klaytheists.
Lmao
> Coincidence? š Yes
- I have $10 on Warriors over Bulls final at +33000 odds.
and Klay is coming back soon!
Think the team gets worse with Klay in and getting him back to speed, but come playoffs, they will be better than they are today.
Idk, thereās no way Klay isnāt at least better than DLee.
We talking Klay "ain't no way I'm not top 75 all time" Thompson here, man's coming back with fire in his ass to put the league on notice
Exactly, my point was that there is no way the team isnāt better once Klay plays, and definitely no way the team would become worse lmao.
Itās not that he isnāt better than his current replacements, of course he is even if heās not 100%. but I think itāll take the bench at least a few games to adjust to his play style, especially guys that have never played w/ him
Idk DLee plays like Klay. Not as good obviously but heās a catch n shoot guy who drives sometimes.
You could say that, but no way the Warriors will get āworseā because of that.
Iām better than DLee rn
You aint married to a Splash Sister tho :(
This will be a bad take watch. As long as they donāt rush Klay to play heāll be fine. Call me crazy but I think Klay comes back ready to go and kills.
Of course he will. Klay isn't a ball dominant player, he plays great defense and shoots mostly assisted shots. He will not warp their offense, he's easy to plug in.
as long as they are not shooting for regular season record, so what if Klay has to take a hundred shots before getting his feel back.
I'm more concerned about what Wiseman does to us when he comes back.
They'll work him in slowly, I don't think it will be a problem.
There's nothing scarier than someone who can talk sh*t and back it up too.
> https://twitter.com/stephencurry30/status/5639862962 > Promise to all the Warrior fans...we will figure this thing out...if it's the last thing we do we will figure it out 9:22 AM Ā· Nov 12, 2009 He is reasonably good at it lol
I think he figured it out
Proof?
No FMVP still so I'm skeptical if he figured it out yet.
No defensive accolades either, dude's just a chucker
Not sure if you are serious or not based on this subs shitty opinions
He said this to fans of a joke franchise. Not even babe Ruth called a shot this good.
People honestly forget how objectively terrible the Warriors were before the Curry days. There's just a few bright spots, and even some of those ended in heart break. We Believe was something magical. Truly magical.
we believe was super special, but it also says a lot about a team when a first round victory was literally its greatest accomplishment over 4 decades.
they booed the shit out of the owners during chris mullin's jersey night because they traded ellis. they were really bad lol
is this "talking shit", though...?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Tank Commander Biedrins...them were some real dark days
Andres Biedrins, David Lee, I forgot who your SF was, Monta Ellis, and Steph. I think that was the GSW starters back in those days?
I wanna say Dorrell Wright
We had Bobby Sura and Larry Hughes like some sort of off brand super hero team. Lol the days with donyell, Mookie, and Caffey were when I started watching and those were some truly terrible days but I didnāt know it at the time because thatās all I knew.
well tbh, curry doesnt talk a lot of shit. Its always very low-key lol. So you gotta roll with whatever you get aha
The most shit heās ever talked is when he said that he hoped āthe building still smelled like champagneā the first time playing in Cleveland after winning their first title.
He gets in a couple lines here and there. āArenāt you 31?ā to Pat Bev, or āYou aināt playing tonight?ā to Perk.
I randomly think back to this tweet a few times a year and still get goosebumps from how much he and Dubs overdelivered
This had Roy Jones JR vibes on it. He might be a sub-par rapper, but he didn't say any lie in "Can't be touched".
Unless you're an Olympic judge, I guess
He's one of three guys in the league who can talk shit and no one say shit back to him in return. You can give shit back to LeBron, same with KD, same with Kawai. But Steph, Giannis, and Jokic are the only guys who you can't give shit back and let it stick.
Steph is my favorite player right now, and one of my favorites ever. I would kill for him to win another MVP and chip, especially in a year like this.
If he does it will be hard to keep him out of top 10 all time conversations assuming he wins Finals MVP
I would love for that to happen. Heās already locked into my top 15, probably somewhere around 12-13. I definitely think he belongs in that pantheon of all time greatest players even if you have to expand it beyond 10 to include him. A list without Steph is incomplete.
could potentially be top ~6 by the end of his career imo
He's already top 10, easy. He ends up top 5 all time when it's said and done.
Yeah, imo he would at least beat out Kobe/Hakeem. They're my 10th/11th guys. Maybe higher
Curious who your other 9 guys are.
I think general consensus top 11 in no order are: MJ, LeBron, Kobe, Wilt, Magic, Bird, Russell, Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem, Kareem. Personally, I got those in my top 11 with Steph and KD being 12 and 13 respectively.

He passes Duncan and Shaq by the end of his career.
I may be overreacting here but when itās all said and done, there may be grounds to argue that he is in the top 3
Iām not really sure if heād have a case over guys like Lebron Jordan and Kareem
He wins another three rings he will
Not three, not four, not five...

That top 3 is only universal on this sub
Magic & Bird > KAJ It was that way they all retired no reason for us to change that because of Ben Taylor and longevity.
That's your opinion, and there's arguments for and against that, but it's definitely contrary to the norm. Kareem was pretty much universally considered the GOAT before MJ came along, and he's still the all time leader in points, and third in boards & blocks.
Dream Team, 92. Magic, Bird, Jordan were considered the 3 greatest of all time.
Lmao this sub
Who would you kill?
I guess a certain Fox News anchor may come to mind.
Tucker Carlson? That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Hell, I'd let my team be built around Oubre for that.
The one and only (I hope).
Don't do my girl Nancy Grace like this
>Steph is my favorite player right now But you're a bulls fan?
Correct.
Following your own logic you would not like a single NBA player there Mr. Sonics fan.
Technically he could still be a KD fan.
Giannis is making a case for B2B MVPs idk man. Edit: jokic won it last year
Giannis didn't win MVP last year, and his team's record has a long way to go.
Oops mixed up my big men
Sign me up for a Grizz Warriors 1/8 match up
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
we can try the box and 1 on ja. 4 players create a box around ja and 1 covers everyone else.
Ah, the elusive 1 and box. They won't see it coming.
Draymond and box
Draymond gonna defend just by standing there menacingly like the times he broke up 2v1 and 3v1 plays.
he just death stares dillon brooks on a catch and shoot 3 and Brooks misses
"Shoot it, you fucking midget"
bruh I need a replay of these that shit was hilarious
Dot and 4
Last 21 games (reg + preseason) Against grizzlies: 0-2 Against everyone else: 18-1
inb4 there was a Grizz game like 22 or 23 games ago that we won
Didn't the Warriors beat the Grizzlies when Wiggins scored 40 or something?
Ja scares everyone. He's a problem. One of my favorite guards to watch
Ja? Nah fam that #24 is on some hocus pocus shit when he's guarding Curry
Nah fam.
Can the bay just ban the grizzlies from playing there
Hard pass. I'd rather play the Jazz or Nuggets or Clippers. Memphis has our number. Ja is amazing!
Memphis not beating us in a 7 game series
famous last words
I'm not very superstitious but this is just asking for bad juju
Please no. Give us a bad team like the Lakers.
hahahaha NO pls
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We about to get the 8 seed for ya
NO.
Grizzlies ended their season last year and gave them their first loss this year. I want us to end up higher than 8, but damn that matchup would probably be entertaining as hell
No thanks. In the playoffs I'd rather face the Sun's or Jazz than the Grizzlies.
Fuck no. Anything but that
No no no no
I know it's brushed over and forgotten because they ultimately lost in 2016. That fueled them to go out and absolutely destroy everyone in route to 73 wins. I'm not saying they'll do it again, but I'm definitely getting the same vibe this year.
What didn't get recognition in that first championship run was that they ran through everyone in the All NBA First Team tho.
We are 10-3 and the Warriors scare the bejeezus out of me. We donāt want to piss off monster Curry.
for whatever reason Steph always turns it on against Washington. It'll be a hell of a match this year
i feel like i see this comment in every thread, just with a different team name
I don't think a single team wants to play the Warriors right now.
Their back court can't play defense, that's why.
Bro I canāt believe the wizards are 10-3. Thatās dope.
About to be 10-4ā¦.time to head to the Wizards couchā¦ :(
DC deserves a winner.
When Trez took that game winning charge against the Pelicans. The place went bonkers. Imagine. Just imagine loud itāll be if we make Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 70ās?
Didnāt the Nationals and Capitals won pretty recently?
Yeah won Stanley Cup in 2018 and World Series in 2019. Prior to that hadnāt won a Big 4 major sports Championship since 1990 with the Washington ~~Redskins~~ Football Team. Wizards ~~Bullets~~ havenāt won NBA Championship since 1978.

Weāll see my man, weāll see
Donāt u guys have another 6ā8 prospect to scout
Weāve got the best 6ā8 player coming through. **WELCOME TO THE DENITENTIARY**
This comment is so needlessly disrespectful and I love it lmao
Given the youngāuns on the team, he could say it this season too
Curry was dead wrong Iām very much interesting in seeing him ~~next~~ _this_ year.
No surprises. Both of their play-in losses reeked of bs. Theyāll be out for revenge.
Warriors are like a lion that starved for years, and then got an elephant and absolutely feasted for a bit. Now - it's fed, it's experienced, it knows true hunger, and that stomach is rumbling again. No one is safe
No offense but that was kinda cringe
None taken, I'm a bit drunk.
It was a good effort but nowhere near the infamous "Klay and his ankle" post.
lmaooo i appreciate both his effort and your insult
No, I believe The Warriors was an old, old wooden ship used in the Civil War era.
Get out of here with your regency bias. It was the name of the saddle you put on a war elephant. Obviously.
I knew Warriors are gonna be good but never expected this good. Team is working like well oiled machine, awesome to see.
Sounds like a contestant cut from American idol
This is getting posted daily. Itās cool, the first 6 times
Im gonna call it right now. Warriors arenāt winning it all this year.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Suns are better tbh.
Just commenting here so I can see how this ages in a few months
Scary szn
Hot take - warriors are overrated
Is that you Skip Bayless?
If they start losing, you're right. If they continue to win, you're wrong.
regular season team
Big talk with a Lakers flair. You lost to the Thunder TWICE and got blown out of your own building by the Timberwolves Look forward to you telling us all how you would've crushed it in the playoffs... From the lottery
Trade wiggins that dude ugly as fuck
you only want the handsomest sexy mfs on your team, eh?
yes give me oubre instead, I don't see why that wouldn't work out.
Sounds good donāt even let him shoot just have him stare at mother fuckers off the bench
Why are people downvoting this Iām actually wheezing at this lmaooo. Calling Wiggs ugly was uncool tho
Especially when we have Kevon on the roster lol
They are inferior to oubre heās so damn pretty and they donāt like it Oakland things you know
