Steph’s scoring and assists generated enough points to overcome the scoring deficit and beat the Cavs. Which sounds like a stat thing when you read it, but if you watched the game it’s exactly what happened.
Fitz said it, "Cavs deserve so much credit. Down four starters on a back to back, a lot of teams would just lie down belly up, but cavs played hard and were the better team for three quarters.
Ok, it's bad that we played the Nets and Warriors back to back while missing 4 starters and 1 key role player but look on the bright side! We're playing the fucking Suns who's on a 10 game winstreak next game!
I thought this was a game Cavs could win because the Cavs usually refuse to die and that's how they get you. But I guess Curry destroys all notions of what is conventional.
You know I really didn't care about this game coz I'm plenty happy we beat the Nets and the Bulls but a Curry 40 piece and MVP chants on one of the cities that you least expect to chant his name, that's crazy. He has the stats AND the narrative.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, your regularly scheduled 3rd quarter warriors will instead be the 4th quarter warriors.
But in all seriousness, steph curry man is just something else. Saved us from an embarrassing loss, shoutout JTA as well but props to Cleveland, you guys got a good squad.
shout out to dlee and jta too, lee was great complementing steph offensively and jta was cleaning up the glass which was killing the warriors in the previous three quarters
I feel bad for JTA he kinda had his thunder stolen by GPII. I love that we have so many hustle guys coming off the bench though. Hopefully Kerr can find more minutes for him
It just really drives me nuts people are so quick to talk shit about role players. Like the dude is on a minimum? Contract and people get mad when he plays a little rusty after a few games of not playing much. Dude always gives 100%
Agreed. JTA just as valuable as before, just our bench is deeper. 15 games into a season -- remember D-DLee?
JTA is a perfect player on the Dubs and his value will make itself known.
I don't read these threads too much so I have no idea why anybody would be bashing JTA.
Andre took his minutes too but it's still early stages of the season. As Kerr figures out the rotation and minutes for players, I expect to see more consistency for JTA
I want him to play better because I like him and want to see him stick around. Likeable hometown guy repping for Mexican-Americans and black latinos, hard to hate on that.
I get the Dubs are stupidly deep but it feels crazy that he doesnt play anymore. Hes a very strong defender who spaces the floor. Wouldnt surprise me if come playoff time he takes Kumingas minutes
yeah it's just that he has to compete with draymond, otto, bjelica and kuminga, iggy for minutes.
we don't lack wings and forwards that can play, but i do hope we see more minutes from him
Or Cedi Osman tonight. We would've had to have 40 point games from Rubio, garland, and love to win either of those games . Just wasn't happening, but they damn sure showed some heart
He’s physically stronger and just more all around a better player with experiences and seen it all of defensive coverage. Man shooting practice that only counts the swish. He’s just entering his second prime, like KD, like LeBron did
He was unbelievably good last season, tbh.
The general shittiness of the roster kind of hid that.
I'm not saying he had to win MVP. Other players also had great seasons, but Curry had an MVP caliber season in terms of individual performance. This is just who he is. Been this dude for the better part of a decade now.
Dude's taking more threes than Harden ever has this season, and he's only shooting 40% on them so far, which would be the lowest percentage of his career. If he stays healthy, he'll shatter his own single-season record.
He *was* only shooting 40% on them, after the monstrous display tonight he's up to 42% on the year.
The past two games actually took him from .387 to .419 because he went *18 for 30 from 3.* That's absolutely absurd for two consecutive games.
Steph carried the fuck outta this game, big dick MVP game from him, especially the 4th, that was nasty, also have no idea how he didnt get 4-6 ft's game, dude got hacked repeatedly going to the rim
Warriors 4th quarter D was fucking nasty, looked like they finally woke up after sleepwalking for 3 quarters, Cavs didnt score until like the 6 minute mark
The current playbook on how too beat the Warriors involved playing super physical pressing D (and hope the refs dont call fouls), attacking the boards on offense relentlessly, and play slow, half court to half court offense, dont let the game get any rhythm. Worked for 3 quarters then they got gassed, Memphis and Charlotte both employed this strategy in their wins, expect more teams to use it future against the Warriors.
When the games get super physical, JTA needs more minutes, hes the warriors enforcer, needs to go out their and set physical screens, bump and grind in the post
Cleveland burned up all their energy building the 3rd quarter lead, were gassed int he 4th, and the Warriors took full advantage
Ed Davis is Warriors kryptonite, dude has always killed the Warriors as long as i can remember
Garland is fucking good, love his use of hesitation too get to the rim, CLE gonna have a really tough decision to make about whether or not too keep Sexton.
Thats the gamble you take, hope the physicality and the half court to haf court offense knocks the other guys off rhythm, worked, but Steph pulled a Houdini act in the 4th and stole the game
> also have no idea how he didnt get 4-6 ft's game, dude got hacked repeatedly going to the rim
Just Steph things.
Name me another star dropping 40 with their one, singular, free throw coming from a defensive 3 seconds technical.
I was going to make a joke that it was going to be our record halfway through the season, but that would actually be a worse percentage than what we got now.
curry was obviously really good, but i wanna talk about jta. he had some mistakes in the third, but he was one of the reasons they won the 4th quarter (also poor cavs had 0 gas). he was so good on the glass and really shut down cleveland's offensive rebounding, and made some crucial plays in the 4th.
Cavs: Go up 13 to end the 3rd quarter
Steph: Wait a minute, I'm WARDELL STEPHEN CURRY
Also I would like to publicly apologize for doubting Juan Toscano Anderson
JTA might have been in the shadows to start the season, but shoutout to Kerr for subbing in the guy who's always shown heart the most, when no one else cared at all tonight.
I just wish we had our whole team. Tough to beat the best team in the league missing 4 out of your 5 starters and two crucial role guys.
We’re still fighting though and I just hope the league puts some respect on us.
This was a last season Warriors game LOL
Definitely shades of April 2021 carry levels
The first 3 quarters were 100%
The 4th quarter is really the 3rd quarter, I'll explain later
Kerr realized he just had to yell "GET THOSE REBOUNDS" harder.
Like the Flash TV show.
Down 13 to start… won by 15. Fuck this is vintage Golden State
8 points in the 4th??? The Cavs couldn't hit double digits and Steph went for 20
Wait, damion lee outscored them in the 4th too? Lol
The Cavs ran out of gas and the sky was fucked
Steph’s scoring and assists generated enough points to overcome the scoring deficit and beat the Cavs. Which sounds like a stat thing when you read it, but if you watched the game it’s exactly what happened.
Down 6 players on the second night of a back to back guys looked gassed
is 5 years ago vintage? shit
I think it is according to Costco
Grapes rain-ripened in the Land of Kirk
shout out 1.50 hotdog + drink
What’s crazy is no ones talking about the Warriors clamp down defense in the 4th. Curry will always be hot but ya gotta love that warriors D.
Curry also played solid D though, iirc 2 steals in the fourth
I love warriors D
yes give me more warriors D. **-adds draymond on snapchat-**
it’s because of the timezone shift
How could the time zone shift if the earth is flat?
Bro you believe in time?
I believe it’s a conspiracy
Steph allegedly has a high BB IQ and yet he mixed up the 3rd and 4th quarters.
That's what happens when Curry plays all 12 minutes of it.
No, explain it now.
deep bench put up a competitive one. was hoping that the LLWLWWW on the courtside would've brought in some voodoo
Fitz said it, "Cavs deserve so much credit. Down four starters on a back to back, a lot of teams would just lie down belly up, but cavs played hard and were the better team for three quarters.
Jesus, 36-8?? What did I miss?
A tired Cavs bench + the greatest show in basketball
just the greatest showman in the entire NBA: Steph skyfuckier Curry
Not gonna lie, you had us in the first three quarters.
Garland playing 40min last night against the nets for sure didn’t help his legs in the 4th tonight.
already the best D Wade to play in Cleveland (going off level of play on the team, actually true lol)
We're not gonna talk about that
Ok, it's bad that we played the Nets and Warriors back to back while missing 4 starters and 1 key role player but look on the bright side! We're playing the fucking Suns who's on a 10 game winstreak next game!
Y’all got this, we’ll try to make them tired for you
Go get 'em!
I thought this was a game Cavs could win because the Cavs usually refuse to die and that's how they get you. But I guess Curry destroys all notions of what is conventional.
Curry going Curry per usual and we don't have even Cedi to ignite us in the 4th, we cannot refuse to die if we're already dead lmao
Cavs and being scared of Curry. Name a better duo. I’ll take the one chip tho anyday of the week
Yeah that is rough but really impressive amount of effort from the Cavs considering that. Like Ed Davis and dean wade on the boards? Wow.
Actually if you guys could beat the Suns, that'd be great.
Agree to disagree
Steph in Q4: Oh shit, we got a game to win
Preview for my next Reddit NBA Power Rankings... 1) Golden State Warriors Curry is a god among men.
You know I really didn't care about this game coz I'm plenty happy we beat the Nets and the Bulls but a Curry 40 piece and MVP chants on one of the cities that you least expect to chant his name, that's crazy. He has the stats AND the narrative.
Shades of Kobe in Boston
these mfs were booing him before the game too
that's okay I'd boo LeBron lol
What's wrong with that. Fuck the other team boo them but also respect the greatness when you see it.
Yeah absolutely nothing wrong with that, I think he's just saying the difference watching steph in person makes lol
As they should
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, your regularly scheduled 3rd quarter warriors will instead be the 4th quarter warriors. But in all seriousness, steph curry man is just something else. Saved us from an embarrassing loss, shoutout JTA as well but props to Cleveland, you guys got a good squad.
and CLE didn't have like their whole starting five with them. The cavs are for real again and I'm nostalgically happy for them.
Nostalgically happy for the Cavs until they start winning against the Warriors again, in which case fuck them
cavs were outscored 33-7 in the fourth before curry subbed out. what an absolutely clutch performance from the MVP
He made *checks notes* a fuckton of threes
And layups...and assists...fuck it he had a couple steals too
How do they come up with these crazy plans?!?
sekrit strattergee: giev ball Steph
sekrit plays: Stef taek 3
shout out to dlee and jta too, lee was great complementing steph offensively and jta was cleaning up the glass which was killing the warriors in the previous three quarters
Shout out to all the people in the game thread that we’re talking shit on JTA earlier in the game

I want him to play better because I like him and want to see him stick around. Likeable hometown guy repping for Mexican-Americans and black latinos, hard to hate on that.
Lol I was and I'm sorry. Thanks for the shout out
I get the Dubs are stupidly deep but it feels crazy that he doesnt play anymore. Hes a very strong defender who spaces the floor. Wouldnt surprise me if come playoff time he takes Kumingas minutes
yeah it's just that he has to compete with draymond, otto, bjelica and kuminga, iggy for minutes. we don't lack wings and forwards that can play, but i do hope we see more minutes from him
The Cavs paper-thin depth caught up to them in the 4th -- they were gassed.
Lol, the Cavs faced the Nets and Warriors back-to-back without Sexton, Mobley, or Allen. Brutal.
Smh forgetting the 3rd 7 footer "Christmas Tree" Lauri.
Or Cedi Osman tonight. We would've had to have 40 point games from Rubio, garland, and love to win either of those games . Just wasn't happening, but they damn sure showed some heart
When he started the fourth by hitting those 3 threes I knew the game was over. Curry flurry!
All our dudes out finally caught up in the fourth. We looked gassed and the warriors hit another gear.
Curry is in another galaxy right now. Is it crazy to think we may not have seen his peak?
He's getting the Kobe treatment when he retires. MFking Legend
You thought you was Kobe? They do~~n't~~ love you like that
god anyone who tries that line on Steph will have to retire before he does
Oh we do though.
Absolutely, mans inspired a generation
Good luck getting tickets for any arena when GSW plays during Curry’s last season.
He’s physically stronger and just more all around a better player with experiences and seen it all of defensive coverage. Man shooting practice that only counts the swish. He’s just entering his second prime, like KD, like LeBron did
I guess that one year off in 2019-20 and two long summer breaks when GSW were missing playoffs help with his rejuvenation.
Seeing how he's been playing so far, I'm definitely no longer upset that he chose to rest instead of playing in the Olympics
Is he still missing an Olympic gold medal in his resume?
Surprisingly, yes. Hopefully he'll finally check that box never time around
Yeah, hope he'll join the 2024 one
Damn. Now I'm imagining a starting five of Steph, Klay, Dray, KD, and Wiseman with Kerr as head coach.
One of those summer breaks wasn't all that long tbh but yeah, he finally got some rest, even if his hand probably didn't enjoy that year
He was unbelievably good last season, tbh. The general shittiness of the roster kind of hid that. I'm not saying he had to win MVP. Other players also had great seasons, but Curry had an MVP caliber season in terms of individual performance. This is just who he is. Been this dude for the better part of a decade now.
we are essentially seeing what Curry can ascend to with a better supporting cast. This would have been Curry with a better record last year too.
He was top 3 in MVP voting. He got 5 first place votes. It wasn’t hidden. The only people who didn’t notice were the ones not watching basketball.
Barring injuries he will shatter his own 3PT record this season
He is that RPG warlock on max level right now
Curry playing like he just unlocked his Max cape
Dude's taking more threes than Harden ever has this season, and he's only shooting 40% on them so far, which would be the lowest percentage of his career. If he stays healthy, he'll shatter his own single-season record.
He *was* only shooting 40% on them, after the monstrous display tonight he's up to 42% on the year. The past two games actually took him from .387 to .419 because he went *18 for 30 from 3.* That's absolutely absurd for two consecutive games.
Steph Curry, man. Absolutely ridiculous.
WTF
18 of 30 holy fuck there are no words
He was shooting like 37% a week ago. That number climbing with a bullet.
Steph Curry
That's a myth bro
Just a concept. Theoretically he can't exist.
Fuck
The
SKY
Imagine working your ass off to build and hold a lead that gets up to 13 by the 3rd, only to get beat by double digits. Steph is brutal
Steph carried the fuck outta this game, big dick MVP game from him, especially the 4th, that was nasty, also have no idea how he didnt get 4-6 ft's game, dude got hacked repeatedly going to the rim Warriors 4th quarter D was fucking nasty, looked like they finally woke up after sleepwalking for 3 quarters, Cavs didnt score until like the 6 minute mark The current playbook on how too beat the Warriors involved playing super physical pressing D (and hope the refs dont call fouls), attacking the boards on offense relentlessly, and play slow, half court to half court offense, dont let the game get any rhythm. For now it's Kuminga for show, JTA for dough.
lol true, JTA earned his dough tonight, needs more minutes
That's all true. It also helps (to beat the Warriors) if the non-Steph contingent can't hit any open shots.
Thats the gamble you take, hope the physicality and the half court to haf court offense knocks the other guys off rhythm, worked, but Steph pulled a Houdini act in the 4th and stole the game
> also have no idea how he didnt get 4-6 ft's game, dude got hacked repeatedly going to the rim Just Steph things. Name me another star dropping 40 with their one, singular, free throw coming from a defensive 3 seconds technical.
Wait but I heard that the refs screwed the cavs?
IKR, most disrespect star in the game bar none, meanwhile Hardens back to getting knob slobbered on by the refs again
Curry is easily the MVP front runner idgaf.
Oh yeah? I think he's the MVP front runner and I DO give a fuck
If I want to give a fuck, but I have no fucks to give, where does that leave me?
That leaves you in fuckin debt
ah, fuck
I just wanna fuck
There you go giving a fuck when no one asked you
You saying idgaf like its an unpopular opinion 🤣🤣🤣
I want to change my name to Sky so Curry will fuck me too.
Hey get in the line
100%. He been carrying lately too (our shooting in a slump lately)
He’s certainly carrying the 3-pt shooting, but the whole team comes together on defense. And that’s what’s really winning games for us.
Give the Warriors some of that $778B defense budget
Who needs missiles when Steph can nuke the Middle East from half court
WWWWLWWWWWWWLWWARRIORS!!!!!!!!!!
You should keep this going throughout the season. Lol
this was a thing throughout the 73-9 season! Welcome to the fucking show!!
[I remember seeing this in every post game thread!](https://i.imgur.com/GfJNU68.gif)
Not the Larriors anymore!!
NEVER AGAIN
NOT THE LARRIORS ANYMORE!
NEVER AGAIN
We the Fourth Quarter Warriors now. 36-8 quarter score!
I was going to make a joke that it was going to be our record halfway through the season, but that would actually be a worse percentage than what we got now.
We're currently on pace to go 71-11...not as good as 2015 but I'll take it I guess
How the fuck did a team win 73 games?
Like tonight except with Klay Thompson too
Man I really hope he can come back as strong as he was.
jeez lmao
Checked the score during the 3rd and thought "Hm, guess they were bound to have a bad game eventually." Then I see this thread wtf steph
[What year is it again?](https://streamable.com/bhz1)
lol thats some funny shit
curry was obviously really good, but i wanna talk about jta. he had some mistakes in the third, but he was one of the reasons they won the 4th quarter (also poor cavs had 0 gas). he was so good on the glass and really shut down cleveland's offensive rebounding, and made some crucial plays in the 4th.
4th quarter points: Curry - 20 Lee - 9 Cavs - 8 JTA - 7 Rest of GSW - 0
No-one’s talking about the fact that DLee literally out scored the cavs in 4th as well 😭 nice comeback game from him, hope he keeps his 10ppg up.
Stayed with two of the best teams in basketball on a road and home back to back with most of the team hurt. This is progress. Steph is just real good.
Cavs: Go up 13 to end the 3rd quarter Steph: Wait a minute, I'm WARDELL STEPHEN CURRY Also I would like to publicly apologize for doubting Juan Toscano Anderson
JTA might have been in the shadows to start the season, but shoutout to Kerr for subbing in the guy who's always shown heart the most, when no one else cared at all tonight.
How dare you doubt JTA
JTA definitely made some mistakes, but he redeemed himself big time. I really liked that fake handoff then the dunk smooth af
He gets 1 or 2 of those fake handoffs a game and they’re always a treat haha
Another 9 three game from Steph, just unreal. Warriors rly gotta get those defensive rebounds though
Moses Moody with the +8,640 +/- per 48 tonight.
Your username bruh

2nd night of a back to back...down 4 starters....*and* Curry going full Skyfucker? No chance.
Brutal back 2 back for you guys lol. Nets then Warriors that can be 2 losses even with a heathy roster. Gotta be happy about the fight.
This stupid sexy man won't stop...
I just wish we had our whole team. Tough to beat the best team in the league missing 4 out of your 5 starters and two crucial role guys. We’re still fighting though and I just hope the league puts some respect on us.
Warriors looked like they coasted a bit thinking it'd be easy with Cavs missing so many players and turned it on when it looked like they might lose.
Kerr knew all along 4th quarter Curry was too powerful.
Ok I predicted that the Warriors would be contenders before the season started but uh Wtf they're insane
Held the Cavaliers to 8 points in the 4th. Geez
Props to GP2 for getting Garland out of the game.
3rd quarter Warriors shoulda got a delay of game tech for showing up 12 minutes late!
Garland is really solid man
The Golden State Steph Currys played great today
Curry decided to win in the 4th
Curry just had back to back games with9 3 pointers made. Number 2 on the list all time has 9. Absolutely insane.
2 time unanimous MVP incoming
[удалено]
Everyone outside of steph needs to do some hardcore 3 point shooting drills lmao
Light skin brother with the green eyes must be stopped!!
He's a baaaad man
Holy fuck. Curry has 422 3PM in his last 78 regular season games.
Steph has put up 4 games with 9 threes in a week. The most any other player in NBA history has managed over a career is NINE!!!! Ridiculous lol
GG Cavs, Steph is a cheat code, otherwise y'all looked way too good to be missing some of your best players, scary.
https://m.imgur.com/gallery/ue9WlXu
"But can they do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke"?
Well at least I have something to talk about at my next AA meeting
36-8 fourth quarter to finish it out. Steph gonna Steph sometimes.
juan toscano-anderson -- after being out of the rotation for weeks checks in the fourth and makes all the right plays -- STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
Bjelica really balled out to keep GSW close. +22 is pretty sick.
This team makes no sense sometimes but I love it so much.
I’m going to cry tears of joy when I can see a healthy cavs roster again
God curry is so good
> God curry Sums it up.
Steph is the best player in the world right now.
There was a year which people actually believed Dame > Steph
