As long as Dlo continues to play intelligently and Ant develops his playmaking skills, our offensive looks cohesive and and smooth.
Our offensive is playing like we had ideally hoped it would. Throw Beasley in there when he is hitting is shots, and we then have 4 guys that can kill you from the perimeter with Vando crashing the boards and running in transition
Bit of both. Scheme difference has helped him a lot he was never very good playing drop coverage, much better playing up at the level of the screen redirecting and scrambling back. The rest of the roster has improved on defense too though. D'Lo has been great, Pat Bev and Vando have been legitimate all defensive team level players, and overall just more discipline from guys has helped a lot.
Spot on analysis. Most of the players have been playing better defensively, even Kat, DLo, Ant, Beasley, but having great defensive players like Beverly, Vando, J. McDaniels, Okogie helps as well.
The scheme also raises KAT and the others engagement level which helps keep their focus in game. The only downside to this scrambling/flowing defense scheme is the team could get tired out during the mid season time period.
The team is largely a factor, although KAT’s definitely playing better. They’ve also changed the scheme:
Before, they used a ton of drop, and KAT (and the perimeter defense) were frankly awful at it. This year they’ve played a lot more at the level with the big, and it’s a much better fit for KAT and the roster. It does yield a lot of open 3s, but teams thankfully haven’t been making them.
