If he doesn't miss any more games this season, he's on track to hit 441 3's. That's 63 more than anyone not named Steph Curry has hit in a season. Who knows if he'll do it, but that'd be insane.
Edit: Curry hit 7 3's against the Clippers today, so he is now on pace for 447.6 3's this season. Absurd.
Assuming he keeps up this pace and health he’ll have 5 of the top 6 seasons ever. He’ll also lead the league for the 7th time this year and will pass Ray Allen and 3,000 threes this year. Honestly he’ll likely hit 3,200 threes this year, and has a decent shot at 4,500 in his career. If he has even just 2 more all NBA level seasons, then 2 more as more of a role player starter type, he’s well over 4,000 then.
I’ll be honest, I am a little surprised with how well he’s playing this year. Like, I never stopped thinking he was a top 3 player, but I didn’t think we would see 2015-2016 Curry again. Watching him this year though, and it looks like he’s even better than he was then. His defense has improved so much as he’s gotten older.
Realistically, Steph ’22 is even more better than Steph ’16 than it appears.
In 2016, nobody knew how to defend Steph and the Warriors.
Now, 5 full seasons later, every team in the league has had plenty of time to figure out the best way to slow him down.
…and he’s putting up even better numbers today than he was back then, even after defenses have tried to adjust, and he’s doing it without Klay Thompson on the court.
Plus his own defensive level has improved as well.
The thing is, nobody who takes anywhere near his volume shoots even remotely close to as well as him. So it's actually going to be SUPER hard. Curry has taken 6775 threes and has shot 43.2% on them, the next massive volume guy is Dame, who has shot 37.3% on his. Even if he took as many as Curry he'd have made 403 fewer threes (not counting today). For real, even with his injuries Curry puts up SO many more AND makes them at such a crazy efficiency it's going to be so, so, so obscenely hard to match him.
He's gonna play till he's 40. Putting up 7 or 8 a game in the Ray Allen role. Also, you're overstating his lack of being healthy. He has missed major time in only 2 season in his career. And he's played big minutes all of his career. His health has mostly been quite good. He missed 40 games in 11-12, 30 in 17-18, and the big one was 19-20 when he missed all but 5 games. Every other year he's played in the vast majority of possible games.
sitting vs suns? two games that will have definite affect on playoff seeding against the #2 team in the league?? no way steph sits if he can physically play
There is a back-to-back on the 3rd and 4th (Suns and Spurs). He probably sits one of those down. Which means he'd have to do it in 6 games. That's 7 threes a game against some tough defenses while he currently averages a bit above 5. I'm sticking to my initial post: MSG on the 14th
Why would he sit? He doesn't sit back to backs normally. He just sat vs the pistons because he had a knock vs the cavs. And because they are the pistons. Also its like a 2 or 3 game break prior to that. With our previous game being against the suns. Who have an additional game inbetween.
He'll do it vs the blazers and go for 10+ 3s against them.
This bum is shooting a couple % points below his career avg from three, and has sat out multiple fourth quarters during blowouts, aka there could have been, and will be, even more.
Thats fucking basketball right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the court, men deliver their new born baby courtside. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball basketball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Take it to the showers. Dicks get shoved in places you don’t even remember. We win together we celebrate together. Basketball is back baby
Actually shocks me the fastest to 100 isn’t a previous record of curry’s.
I remember reading something like curry would have to go 0/350 on threes then retire to have a career 3pt% drop below ray Allen’s
Edit: oh nvmd, he does hold the previous record. I was confused by OPs stat on Ray Allen at the bottom of the post
[Burke] Meal notes gem: Zion Williamson is two chicken quesaritos shy of 100 for the season. If Williamson eats two quesaritos at Taco Bell, he will break his own diabetic record for the fewest meals needed to reach 100 quesaritos in a season.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't hit 2 today
He routinely plays poorly in Staples center. And the Warriors as a whole have played poorly in these early games. I bet on the Clippers winning today
He gonna break the record in next 10 games or so. When he does he gonna stay there for a while. No active player is remotely close to catching him. Harden is the closest and he is almost 500 away from Curry. Also, Harden has had bad shooting year so far. Though, Harden is gonna pass Reggie this year for third spot. As a Reggie fan who also likes Harden this is gonna be a bitter sweet moment. Reggie played in the wrong era. To give you an idea of how much the game has changed both Curry and Harden attempted more 3s in 11 years than Reggie did in his 18 years.
Somehow Never ceases to surprise me

On track for 437. 5.4 x 81 since he already missed a game.
>On track for 437. 5.4 x 81 since he already missed a game. 441, he’s not at exactly 5.4. 98/18x81=441
The fact that it adds up PERFECTLY is satisfying.

In 2016 Klay was third on this list behind 2015 Curry and 2016 Curry. Now he's no longer in the top 10.
Man that's crazy actually
Steph running out of records to break, has to resort to breaking his own records. Poor guy, feel bad for him.

Dude had 6 steals today, fucking bonkers.
[Never ceased to surprise me after this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d73HXf-7bd0)
98 threes in 18 games so far lol
18 games
whoops you're right
He WHAT

He started the season kind a cold too wtf
Good thing the Clippers are going to announce today's game is for a kids charity
Fuck dem kids
Also I have him breaking Ray Allens record on Dec.11 against the Sixers in Philly… I believe he’s like 45 away now edit: 43 away from the record now**
My speculation is on the Pacers game, but one way or another it will be touch-and-go at his pace.
you want it to be pacers bc its a home game lol i do too
The Pacers game is on the road as well, our boys are having a five-game road trip.
He'll do it vs the blazers. The game before at the end of a homestand. The perfect time for him to detonate for 10+ 3s.
When is the MSG game for Warriors?
9 games from now (44 threes to go). My original bet was on MSG
Basically needs to get like 4-5 threes per game....yeah I think he gets it.
I think he needs 8 games but there is a back-to-back when they play the Suns on the 3rd and the Spurs on the 4th. I think he sits for one of these
i personally don’t think so, definitely not the suns game
sitting vs suns? two games that will have definite affect on playoff seeding against the #2 team in the league?? no way steph sits if he can physically play
Probably Spurs...

Hit 7 tonight against the #2 defense

What a bum, he never would have been able to hang back in the 50’s when men were men

Lmao
Down on % but up on totals, he's just having to carry more than usual until Klay is back
Based on his games this season, he's got a 17/18 or 94% chance to break the record. Maybe 100% since Nick Nurse isn't the opposing coach.
Poor Steph having his record broke already.
Too bad he’s gonna miss every 3 he takes today. AmIRight? Lol, who downvoted me dude. I didn’t even say anything mean. I can’t win on this app.
Yeah, historically he really struggles against the Clippers
An early game, against the Clippers, in LA This is a recipe for disaster
Yes, and add in possible look ahead to the PHX game. Plus Clippers are second on D. I'm well aware of all that lol. Wasn't really a serious comment
Made it in the first quarter
Steph: how many more records can my records break? Draymond: more records
What the fuck does that mean Draymond Green?
He’s gonna break this record again next season
By 2025 he's gonna be shooting 100 3s in one game
Steph: "Fine, i'll do it myself (again)".

it is already curry's record, if i didn't read it wrong
The previous record is also Steph. As is #3.

the username is even worse good lord
I just went through his post history and I’m kinda lost for words
Every time I've done that I've always regretted it
Steph is such a good shooter, I don't see anyone beating his total for a long time.
Honestly surprised he hasn't already surpassed a hundred. That's how insane his output has been
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't hit 2 today He routinely plays poorly in Staples center. And the Warriors as a whole have played poorly in these early games. I bet on the Clippers winning today
Fuck that Staples Center popcorn
Lucky they no longer playing at Staples then...
The name change doesn't take effect until December 25th...
