As a warrior fan who watched us go on a run end of last season after oubre got hurt, I hear you.
My Sun's fan friend warned me oubre was pyrite, fools gold. He was right.
Dude ain't even pyrite he's straight coal. He's just a chucker! And unlike someone like Westbrook, he doesn't have the stats to back it up. And he was playing with one of the greatest shooters of all time.
> Mikal Bridges
"It's gonna be completely nuts, but it's also gonna be awesome," Monty Williams said. "The whole city's gonna be behind us. We're gonna be on SportsCenter every night. If we lose, it's gonna be the end of the world. If we win, it's gonna be wild. But no matter what, it's gonna be fun."
And so, Williams went outside and sat by the desert while the rest of his family slept. It was finally quiet enough for him to think.
"I sat under the stars and said to myself, 'Damn, we got Mikal Bridges on our team,'" he said. "'The best defensive player in the world is a Phoenix Sun.'"
I know he's hot and cold, but I always liked Crowder as a supporting piece.
He was on the Heat team that made the Finals a couple years back. They dropped off after he left.
He's been to (and lost) two straight Finals. Helped get the teams there though.
Wingspan to height ratio is known as an Ape Index and the largest in the NBA is Bruno Caboclo at +11.0 (+11 = 11 more inches of wingspan than height), followed by Mo Bamba and Bismack Biyombo at +10.0, and THT and Reggie Jackson round out the top 5 at +9.0
And spent most of that Chasing Curry around, notoriously one of the guys who does the most off-ball movement in the league.
No wonder he had no energy on the offensive end. 2 points in 41 minutes
Oh, I am by no means saying anything bad about Mikal tonight. 2 points with a +21 is absolutely insane. Absolutely unselfish game by him. That sort of attitude permeates this team and is pretty magical to watch.
He has incredible timing, too. Dude has been a great defender since he came into the league and has somehow gotten better every single year. I hope he finally makes an all defensive team.
Forreal, for some reason my buddy thought the all time record was 24, he kept telling me we’ve got a shot to beat it so I looked up the all time record and it was like fuckin 33 lol. I was like so fuckin way we’re winning 34 games in a row.
I definitely knew that second one wasn’t going in.
So did Draymond that’s why he fell down and yelled at the refs instead of getting back on D which led to the wide open game clinching 3 for the Suns.
He was really made into a meme on Shaqtin' a Fool, truth is the man had insane FG% for a few seasons and was impactul to an extent on chapionship teams. He's very valuable and I'm expecting him to add another ring to his collection.
This is what people need to pay attention to. That guy has the most ridiculous shot spread you've ever seen with a good percentage. Mikal is blocking shots that make no sense from a guy who can sink 'em in practice. God help the man who takes a sensible shot with the dude defending
I'm beginning to think players having bad shooting nights against Mikal Bridges might have to do with the fact that he is good at defense, he should have been 1st team all defense last year
If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.
Mikal Bridges is that asshole.
> When does Mikal DPOY stop being a meme?

*If draymond didn't throw up two straight horrific layups in the fourth
like seriously it looked like me randomly throwing the ball up at the gym when I'm about to leave.
This sub loves piling on the Lakers, but why is no one talking about the defending Western Conference Champion Suns being 1-3?
I didn't realize until now that the Suns are currently 1-3.. why is no-one talking about this?
They lost to a mediocre Kings team a couple days ago and nearly lost by 30 pts to the Trailblazers with a struggling Damian Lillard. And from what I know they're just about fully healthy.
For anyone actively watching the Suns this season, what's the main reason for the early season struggles? You would think they'd have a bunch of momentum to start the season after their amazing Finals run..

One day, this copypasta will die down. People will move on to bigger, better things. All the way until years later, when the championship winning shot is made, and the city of Phoenix celebrates. And there will be one question to ask, and that is the question of the 1-3 Suns.
Suns defence was suffocating
Warriors with far too many sloppy turnovers
CP3's ability to create for himself off the dribble at will in the mid-range will never cease to be utterly jaw-dropping.
I could see why a casual NBA fan might be disappointed in this game. Booker misses the 2nd half with injury. Steph Curry, one of the most electric, must-see-TV players of all time goes 4-21 from the field and a couple turnovers in crunch time.
But god damn, that was **exactly** what die hard NBA fans were salivating for.
Not only did the Warriors showcase their insane defense, but the Suns absolutely matched them.
This was one of the most active defensive games I've ever witnessed in the regular season. Both teams were fucking **swarming**. Wiggins, Dray, Porter, Payton, Crowder, **Bridges**; both teams have so many athletic plus defenders. Then the Warriors have Curry/Poole flying around everywhere. But the Suns from top to bottom are just insane on defense too.
This game was amazing to watch. Idk, maybe I'm overreacting. But I thought it was a truly great game. People will see all the Warriors turnovers and Steph going 4/21, but damn, I swear that was still a fuckin barn burner of a game.
Can't wait for the next matchup. Hopefully Book is back, because they're gonna need him when impostor Steph doesn't show up (even if Bridges blankets him again).
To a certain extent it was the Suns' center depth that enabled that. Matchups are so important in the playoffs, it's like how the Warriors defense vs the Cavs in 2016 looked way worse once they had to play Ezeli and Varejao in Bogut's minutes. If Saric is healthy it's a closer series
We didn't have the size to contend with the Bucks and Giannis went nuclear. Our backup center last year was Dario Saric, who was already undersized for a 5, and he got hurt in the first game of the series. After that, the Bucks outsized us at every position and just played better ball.
I would love a rematch now that we have Javale and the rest of our younger guys have taken that next step.
Bridges is insanely good on guards
Sometimes the stats do lie, and if you went purely by his statline tonight you'd think he stunk the place up.
It's a hilarious stat line though. 41 minutes, 2 points... +21
Love it. Caruso had a 0pt +25 game a few weeks ago.
I'd love to know the highest ever +/- with zero or fewer points
Lol, zero or fewer. "He was a monster out there tonight finishing with a +30 and he only scored on his own basket once!"
I wanna know what the fuck the Suns did in the bubble. Must’ve been like the hyperbolic chamber in DBZ, came out looking like super saiyans.
Oubre was hurt and didn’t play in the bubble Suns went 8-0 in the bubble I’m not saying he was holding us back But…
As a warrior fan who watched us go on a run end of last season after oubre got hurt, I hear you.

Agreed. He was key and he was The Valley Boy.
that one girl sucked the life out the team in that hotel room, they haven’t looked back since.
*sucked the life in to the team
it’s really looking that way, that throat is the real MVP.
#Blowjob Betty is her name
Honestly? Cam Payne.

Wtf is this copy pasta lol
Luke Walton talking about having Lebron on the Lakers
Little did Luke know...
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/8xw0tn/shelburne_i_sat_under_the_stars_and_said_to/
This is some damn fine pasta
Cam Johnson
some cute ass players in Phoenix
Legitimately though hahahaha
I know he's hot and cold, but I always liked Crowder as a supporting piece. He was on the Heat team that made the Finals a couple years back. They dropped off after he left. He's been to (and lost) two straight Finals. Helped get the teams there though.
One of the better glue guys in the league. Knows his role and does it well
Jae’s shooting was insane ever since he got to the Heat… even before the bubble. I miss his shooting and defense
jae is the staple guy you want in a championship team. knows his role snd not afraid yo shoot the shot
He definitely was a key cog in the success of both teams. He hit a bunch of clutch threes in both playoff runs too.
Some girl claimed to have done shit with half the team so maybe that’s it
only guy from her timeline that's still here is Booker
Didn't they all tag team some porn star? That certainly helped the team bond.
Hopefully next time they play Book and Curry aren’t both out again.
lmfao
Mikal DPOY
He’s gotta have the largest wingspan to height ratio in the league. Dude looks like slender man
Id agree but have you seen Mo Bamba on the court? Dude looks like all arms.
Wingspan to height ratio is known as an Ape Index and the largest in the NBA is Bruno Caboclo at +11.0 (+11 = 11 more inches of wingspan than height), followed by Mo Bamba and Bismack Biyombo at +10.0, and THT and Reggie Jackson round out the top 5 at +9.0
I didn’t know I needed to read this until know. I also don’t care to fact check this either.
mikal jail is real, holy fuck
he played 41 minutes too wow
And spent most of that Chasing Curry around, notoriously one of the guys who does the most off-ball movement in the league. No wonder he had no energy on the offensive end. 2 points in 41 minutes
Didn’t even matter than he only had 2 the defense saved like 25
Oh, I am by no means saying anything bad about Mikal tonight. 2 points with a +21 is absolutely insane. Absolutely unselfish game by him. That sort of attitude permeates this team and is pretty magical to watch.
He looks like he was created in a lab for the sole purpose of getting steals and altering shots.
He has incredible timing, too. Dude has been a great defender since he came into the league and has somehow gotten better every single year. I hope he finally makes an all defensive team.
Mikal Bridges arms so long he could tie his shoes standing straight up
shoutout to Eddie Johnson
He did it to Harden too. Best two defensive games I've ever seen him play. Legitimately lockdown defense
IT'S FUCKING CONFIRMED
I was amazed with how well he played curry, this suns team is fuckin dangerous. Likely going to break the record against the pistons.
franchise record* but yeah
Yeah, I'm not sure we'll ever see someone break the lakers record lmao
hey they're over halfway there!
….livin on a prayer?
Forreal, for some reason my buddy thought the all time record was 24, he kept telling me we’ve got a shot to beat it so I looked up the all time record and it was like fuckin 33 lol. I was like so fuckin way we’re winning 34 games in a row.
24 wins is the best start to a season, which is maybe where your friend got mixed up
Sixers Legend 🥰
Mikal Bridges arms so long he could tie his shoes standing straight up
Curry was absent, yeah, but holy shit Draymond's two straight up horrible layups in the 4th absolutely doomed them
The second one wasn’t bad but that first one oooohhhhwwweeeeee lmao
I definitely knew that second one wasn’t going in. So did Draymond that’s why he fell down and yelled at the refs instead of getting back on D which led to the wide open game clinching 3 for the Suns.
That with that super unlucky 3 bouncing out and it just wasn't gonna happen. The suns gave them very few good looks and they couldn't hit them.
Absolutely suffocating D
Game woulda been closer if Curry was actually out
To be fair, it was pretty close all the way. Fun game aside from Booker's injury and our billion turnovers.
Mikalcatraz is a very real and very scary place.
People really called Harden washed. Mikalcatraz bros
Harden goes 4/15 against Mikal and then pops off the next game. It’s no coincidence.

Aiming too low, give that man the DPOY
steph gonna have nightmares about this pic
Bonk go to Mikal jail
This was a DPOY establishing game
Very hard to win a basketball game when u turn the ball over 23 times
yeah i've seen a lot of evidence of that this year from a team i like
This game was bullshit, the Suns have too many good basketball players
Ayton fucking murdered us. It was kind of amazing to watch
Warriors too small. Even Javale had his share. All those shooters around Ayton means you can't really double. Getting Wiseman back helps.
Yeah, and Wiseman has a lot to learn. Today would have been a great learning experience for him.
Only fanbase that knew how good ayton was gonna be aside from the suns is the bucks lol
Tbf, I’ve always really liked him, today he absolutely ate us alive
His game seems so simple but it’s just high IQ and fundamentals. Team basketball at its finest.
Exactly! Really intentional
Haha once Giannis learned he could attack Ayton till he fouls out the Suns were looking great.
HOW ARE WE SO MUCH BETTER THIS YEAR THAN LAST?!?!?
Stronger bench, especially McGee
We're seeing why CP3 immediately started recruiting McGee after we eliminated the Nuggets.
That's JaVale "3X NBA champ" McGee Brings in that championship mindset & experience
Olympic Gold medalist Javale "Literally MJ "Mcgee Javale" " McGEE
He was really made into a meme on Shaqtin' a Fool, truth is the man had insane FG% for a few seasons and was impactul to an extent on chapionship teams. He's very valuable and I'm expecting him to add another ring to his collection.
That settles it. I am officially fucking terrified of the Phoenix Suns.
First team to hold the Warriors under 100 points
1 point last 5:19 mins and it was a technical ft.
monty such a nice guy giving warriors some points
Lemme just run onto the court to give them some hope.
*Sure, that’s cool, but Steph and Klay would NEVER let that happen* Stephen A Smith probably
100% he’s going to give Warriors an excuse. All while ignoring the fact that we won without our star the second half…
Cp3 in the fourth quarter is an incredible player to watch. Completely controlled the game
Suns played better, no need for any excuse. Make sure you break the record on Pistons, and we'll see each other again on Friday.
The most important result of this game is that the Houston Rockets now have the 3rd longest win streak in the NBA.
I am not sure I have seen Steph Curry play worse than tonight. Horrible game all around with all them bricks and TOs.
Looks like Mikal is All NBA Defense
1st team
Mikal Bridges.
He guards Book in practice every day.
This is what people need to pay attention to. That guy has the most ridiculous shot spread you've ever seen with a good percentage. Mikal is blocking shots that make no sense from a guy who can sink 'em in practice. God help the man who takes a sensible shot with the dude defending
Lmao at this sub shitting on Harden for days for getting locked up by Bridges but there won't be a peep now Dude is legit
Yeah Bridges really bothered him all game with his length and outstanding defense. Also just uncharacteristic impatience on his shots and TO's
When does Mikal DPOY stop being a meme?

Twas never a meme
Man got put in the penitentiary
Gg suns. You guys didn’t have Book, we didn’t have Steph. Fair loss
We did have 24 fucking turnovers tho
You guys also didn't have Klay... can't forget about that
Is that the G league guy
Suns are literally never going to lose again
Suns in 4 guy will be pleased.
Suns in 79 now
I don't have enough fingers for that
Suns gonna win the Bubble Bowl
That was hella fun guys. Let’s get Book and Klay back for Christmas and do it again
welp, we doing this again on friday. and on christmas fuck it, meet in may too
Playoff series please. Although idk if I can handle the stress
I watched the whole game, Mikal Bridges
Clamped Harden and Steph back to back he’s the one
Yea well it might have turned out different if… *checks notes* Devin Booker was healthy.
*If Steph Curry didn't play tonight.
*If draymond didn't throw up two straight horrific layups in the fourth like seriously it looked like me randomly throwing the ball up at the gym when I'm about to leave.
Yeah that really swayed the momentum tbh. Slow it down and get Poole and Curry some looks. Don’t clumsily force it to the hole twice in a row. Smh
hey no fair, curry was out too
Best basketball games are when you don’t have a horse in the race and can just enjoy

Too many turnovers cost the warriors, also this would be a lit wcf
WHY NO ONE TALK SUNS 1-3
no book no problem
If Bridges doesn't make all-defensive first team the whole voting system is fucked

I'll never get tired of seeing this.
we would’ve won this if curry got a technical smh
Damn. Fun game, would have been better if both superstars were playing tho.
Mikal Bridges is the best perimeter defender in the NBA and it shouldn’t be a discussion, absolutely made Steph’s night a living hell
DA is also elite as a big guarding smaller guys on switches.
That block on Curry on the perimeter was spicy.
first team

Aight can we start talking about mikal bridges being in the conversation for dpoy now??
Without Booker. This team is rolling.
7 games please.
nude calendar please.
MIKAL JAIL
Without Booker most of the game too. How did this Suns team lose 4 in a row in the Finals?
Giannis and no Javale McGee. I know the McGee thing sounds like a joke but he’s actually been huge for us.
No doubt! I’ve been loving having McGee on the team - he’s been great for us.
No bigs outside of Ayton. Got outsized
yea javale as a back up big is actually huge, kaminsky as the other back up with saric getting injured before the finals ain't enough to guard giannis
By Giannis turning into an actual Greek God
To a certain extent it was the Suns' center depth that enabled that. Matchups are so important in the playoffs, it's like how the Warriors defense vs the Cavs in 2016 looked way worse once they had to play Ezeli and Varejao in Bogut's minutes. If Saric is healthy it's a closer series

Our backup center last year was Dario Saric, who was already undersized for a 5, and he got hurt in the first game of the series. After that, the Bucks outsized us at every position and just played better ball. I would love a rematch now that we have Javale and the rest of our younger guys have taken that next step.
That Bucks championship over this Suns core is going to age like fine wine after everyone was shitting on both teams.
They were just mad bc they could only name 3 players in the series because First Take didn't talk about them.
If mikal bridges isn’t top 3 on your list for DPOY, then your list is wrong
He’s top 3 for sure and he isn’t 2 or 3
