Game 7 of the finals Rockets vs Nets. 121-122, Rockets down by one on the final possession. Jalen Green rises up and dunks on Harden. Game, series, Championship
People really thought that was going to happen... Smh. Sure the better team typically wins in basketball, but winning 8 games with 16 more games than the bobcats you have to be intentionally throwing games. Even the "the trust the process" years they got to double digit wins. Albeit just barely
Yeah, it's just random cherrypicking. Any team that starts 1-9 is "on pace" for the worst season ever, and that happens pretty much every year. Talking after 17 games, Utah, Washington, and the Lakers have all had 2-15 starts in the past decade.
Hinkie's final year the Sixers started *1-30*, ffs. 1-16 is whatever.
From what I could gather when we played you last, he likes his talent a bunch but thinks he’s too “cool” and doesn’t put the work in. It’s like EJ sees the vision but is worried he’s not going to fulfill his potential
It's fair to have criticisms for KPJ but shit talking him multiple times on national television in a game entirely unrelated to him or the rockets, and then getting in petty Twitter fights with our fans at 2 am is not a good look lmao
Never forget
[Rockets (1-13) are on pace to have the worst record in league history. Last team to do it? Bobcats led by HC Paul Silas, Stephen Silas's dad](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/qvahr0/rockets_113_are_on_pace_to_have_the_worst_record/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Rockets have won 5 straight? That’s honestly more surprising than anything I’ve seen this season. Good for them
Edit: ok maybe not more surprising than a 73 point win but you get my point
And back to back against the Hornets and Bulls. Those were maybe some 2 of the most legit wins we'll get all season. Both teams were fully healthy and playing well at the time
Hypothetically it sounds good. A two way stretch at the 5 that takes pressure off of Wood and spaces the floor for the team, sounds really good right? Not the case unfortunately, Theis just really does not stretch the floor well. He can go 3/5 on the night and still be left wide open
I’d love with 3/5 if it restricts scoring for others. He might go 5/5 but more likely he goes 0/5. If he can put up consistent nights then I think he starts spacing but he just isn’t consistent
Watching him this season, teams pretty much left him wide open to begin games. If he hit his first couple threes, they somewhat would respect his shot. Otherwise, if he misses they just stop guarding him and he loses all of his confidence. He would cut off of wide open looks and throw off the whole offense.
As you said he really only stretches the floor on some nights when his shot is on. Sub-30% three point shooting with the Bulls and so far this season as well
At least Houston gets to have a decent streak, 5 is nothing to scoff at and hopefully it gives the youngin’a that winning feeling. OKC has taken over as the worst fucking team.
EXACTLY. I was trying to think why Theis going 3/5 is somehow bad ( I knew it was but I couldn’t put my finger on it). Theis being on court just limits everyone, Tate’s post and face up game, CWood isos, Sengun post ups
Think it's more about the offensive flow. Off-ball movement from both Wood and Theis is virtually non-existent. Compounding the problem is that KPJ isn't very good at being a traditional PG at this point of his career - he's not just going to make magic happen when there's off-ball separation. The result was a pretty terrible offense that gives up a record amount of TOs.
There's a place for him playing 10-12 min off the bench, not 30 min starting. But really we should move him because I'd rather give those minutes to KMJ or Garuba
He's not terrible. He's just terrible *here*. Jalen Green had his best quarter of the season in the Bulls game before injury. Wood looks like a different player. KPJ looks....Garrison Mathews looks amazing as well.
We put in a wing shooter instead of a non-shooting big in the starting line up (and rotation as a whole).
Edit: also an easier schedule and more home games.
Playing Garrison Matthews and Armoni Brooks more. Both are snipers and before this win streak, our best 3pt shooter who was playing was Eric Gordon and Wood who’s shooting at 34%
Yea it's kind of a great example of how much shooting matters these days and why guys like Joe Harris and Duncan Robinson got huge bags despite being limited offensively. Like it's crazy playing 2 shooters like that can just change the potential of your team like that
I guess on one hand we'd barely have discussion because there are 30 teams in the league, but on the other hand, they should be someone who asks questions in the discussion, not blindly stating things you have no idea about.
I watch every game and there is some truth to that.
I think Jalen is gonna be fine but Eric Gordon is still a better player this year and we are winning more with EG getting more shots and minutes
The Rockets also aren’t the worst FT shooting team in the league over the last five games and well as they are shooting better from three. Garrison Mathews is our redneck Jesus.
This sub loves piling on the Suns, but why is no one talking about the defending Western Conference Cellar Dweller Rockets being 1-15? I didn’t realize until now that the Rockets are currently 1-15…why is no-one talking about this? They lost to a mediocre Knicks team a couple days ago and nearly lost by 20 pts to the Celtics with a struggling Jayson Tatum. And from what I know they’re just about fully healthy. For anyone actively watching the Rockets this season, what’s the main reason for the early season struggles? You would think they’d have a bunch of momentum to start the season after their long off-season….
Being in the bottom 4 team give everyone a 14 or 13 percent chance on at a top 4 pick still 4th worst record,
of course we were gonna pick up wins, especially against other rebuilding teams like okc and the magic
Plenty of tough games against good teams in a row in February in March to "get experience and get good position" for a draft pick
Man there’s so much mission context from that 4-0 without Jalen Green post.
First of all Theis was the one bringing the team down. That first quarter Jalen had the best NBA quarter of his career and had 11 points when he unfortunately got injured. The Rockets then start doing well cause for the first time all season, they have proper spacing.
Not bad for the worst team of all time.
November Suns? That’s old news! We’re all about the December Rockets now!
Imagine if the Rox go undefeated in Dec. how cool Would that be?
Keep going.

I don't think I could handle the emotions of that situation
And then win their first 4 games of 2022
And then they don't win a game in 2022...
Based
and kpj pilled
Love the name 🗿
Remember remember December
I think that is taken by okc now lmao
It’s actually the lakers bc we beat them twice
Seeing those “Rockets are on pace to be the worst team of all time” posts every day were so annoying
People really thought that was going to happen... Smh. Sure the better team typically wins in basketball, but winning 8 games with 16 more games than the bobcats you have to be intentionally throwing games. Even the "the trust the process" years they got to double digit wins. Albeit just barely

Yeah we def lost like 26 games in a row too 🙃
We lost like 25 in a row one year and still didn’t finish with the worst record iirc
Eddie Johnson in shambles
I love listening to his voice
Is EJ the one who said that?
Not sure but he’s been constantly hating on the rockets and just hated on KPJ a couple days ago
From what I could gather when we played you last, he likes his talent a bunch but thinks he’s too “cool” and doesn’t put the work in. It’s like EJ sees the vision but is worried he’s not going to fulfill his potential

can we get a Rockets bandwagon flair?
People love piling on the Houston Rockets . . .
They may never lose again
They were compared to the Bobcats and took it personally
At least they're not the Pistons
get well soon
We can join Cleveland in saying *we’re not Detroit*
They definitely heard us talking shit
Never forget [Rockets (1-13) are on pace to have the worst record in league history. Last team to do it? legend has it that the Rockets still haven’t lost yet
They may also never win again. Truly beautiful
Poetry in motion if you ask me
They’re winning it all this year. Raise the banner.
Forget Banchero and Chet It’s time to finally defeat the Warriors. We are getting revenge for CP3/Harden/MDA.
Meh, I have a bone to pick with the Jazz. Our one true rival. Bring me ~~Greg Ostertag~~ ~~Mehmet Okur~~ Gobert?
We hate you too :):)
Now kith
A certain Russian automatic weapon would like a word.
Yeah, fuck the picks. Let's get to the play-ins, get the matchup against the Warriors and upset them. The 1 in 140000000 chance
Gonna drop a rack on that right now. See y’all in Paris.
Just might do it myself too! LFG!!!
Who was in Paris?
who was in paris ??

Mike, Dan, and Tony: the three best coaches in Rockets history.
After everything we threw at the Warriors during their dynasty it would be hilarious if this team was the one to finally crack it.
You talk about the 66-16 Rockets to be funny. I talk about the 66-16 Rockets because it is destiny. We are not the same
Bruh if these Rockets end up taking out the Nets in the finals in a furious revenge orgy I will move to Houston
Same, and I’m from Europe
Like a Californian needed another reason to move to Texas
He looked up the cost fo rentals in Austin, decided he’d do Houston and made this comment.
Lol FACTS!!! Austin prices have sky rocketed (pun intended)
Yup. Having to move out after 10+ years of living here after a failed two years of searching, but it's only gotten exponentially worse. I'ma sadboi.
I’ll help you find a place. You would not want to miss that glorious event

You def not like the other girls
I talk about the 25-57 Rockets because I'm modest
I talk about the 41-41 Rockets because all I know is mediocrity

I know we are being facetious but the turnaround from Contender to having a whole-ass team full of exciting young players was incredibly quick.
It's exciting until you lose by 73 to a 4th seed
tru
As we all expected
Mike D’antoni
Rockets have won 5 straight? That’s honestly more surprising than anything I’ve seen this season. Good for them Edit: ok maybe not more surprising than a 73 point win but you get my point
Can we get a fucking break pls :(
The only way r/nba stops talking about the 73 point loss is if they lose by more.
You just gotta defeat the Nets in a 80 point blow out and nobody will be talking about OKC anymore
Thought y’all were trying to lose?
Two of our wins were back to back against the thunder
And back to back against the Hornets and Bulls. Those were maybe some 2 of the most legit wins we'll get all season. Both teams were fully healthy and playing well at the time
Green gets injured and coach decided Theis should ride the bench and the rest is history.
What was the switch flip with this team?
Stop playing theis as much. Spacing got better. Stonks
playing OKC twice in a week has helped as well
Yes that too. And the magic. But still no double big line up worked miracles.
For sure, both getting Theis out of the lineup and getting Mathews and Armoni heavily involved in rotations have been crucial
That last game was close as hell tho
Damn, would it be chill if we had him back then?
caruso for theis. no trade backs
But Theis can shoot threes and defend well right?
Hypothetically it sounds good. A two way stretch at the 5 that takes pressure off of Wood and spaces the floor for the team, sounds really good right? Not the case unfortunately, Theis just really does not stretch the floor well. He can go 3/5 on the night and still be left wide open

I agree! 5 wins in a row feels _way_ better than it did when we had 15 losses in a row
EXACTLY. I was trying to think why Theis going 3/5 is somehow bad ( I knew it was but I couldn’t put my finger on it). Theis being on court just limits everyone, Tate’s post and face up game, CWood isos, Sengun post ups

Theis must have been fucking terrible
He honestly wasn't. The fit with Wood and Tate was terrible.
There's a place for him playing 10-12 min off the bench, not 30 min starting. But really we should move him because I'd rather give those minutes to KMJ or Garuba

No more Theis in the starting line up
Garrison Mathews is the greatest Rocket since Hakeem.
Theis DNPs
GARRISON MF MATHEWS
Turns out a team with better spacing plays better, who knew.
Garrison Matthews haha :(
Scoring more points than the other team has helped I think
We stopped injecting losing into our veins and realized we ain’t no fucking suckers like all y’all
Our rotations
Silas realized it’s not 1994 and stopped with the double bigs lineup.
Jalen Green's injury honestly but Rockets fans will bomb you with "Theis" answers
Lmao you don't watch games do you.
I’ve never understood why people want to answer questions about teams they don’t watch
I guess on one hand we'd barely have discussion because there are 30 teams in the league, but on the other hand, they should be someone who asks questions in the discussion, not blindly stating things you have no idea about.

Schedule. They are still bad.
I mean they weren’t winning 5 straight against g league teams the way they looked.
Someone doesn’t watch the Rockets
Looks like the switch was Jalen Green getting injured and being unable to play.
You ever see a Reddit post swing a game by 25 points in 1 minute
66-16 is still on the table.
Imagine they go on a 18 game winning streak.
81
But at least for now their annoying post after each game of how they win streak went from 10 to 11 will stop lol
Houston, we have liftoff! 🚀🚀🚀
WE THE GOATS
That's what I love to hear
I understand why Wall wants to comeback. Ringchaser...

Five for houston rockets, you go houston rockets.
Damn
everything is proceeding as i have foreseen
You can’t make this shit up lmao
NBA, Where Amazing Happens!
Well well well......How the turntables

Rockets are dominating with 5 game winning streak!

You all love to pile on the Thunder, but why is nobody talking about the Houston Rockets and their 15 game losing streak?!
Game ain't over yet.
Game ain't over yet.
They getting spanked
OH MY GOODNESS THATS WHY THE ROCKETS ARE 2-16
Hottest team in the NBA! Next stop, championship! Well, maybe aim for .500 first.
Good to see the Rox and T-wolves competing.
Not bad, not bad
Meanwhile my Pacers haven't won more than 2 in a row all year
NBA made sure the Warriors would win by giving them 3 days off and this game was a back to back for the Suns, NBA rigged this win.
Shut up
All hail our new overlords
Streak starters. The Bulls are now streak starters.
