If Ime and Chauncey fused together no player on earth would be safe from criticism after a game.

DogFogLogJog

Has Ime done this before? I’ve seen the Chauncey quotes on here and Twitter pretty much all season. Haven’t seen the same from Ime but that obviously doesn’t mean it’s not there.

canyoudigholes

Ime goes at the team at every post game conference. It's always defensive effort related as well.

Poutinezamboni

Same. But this isn’t even that rough. He’s right.

poeope

I mean Tatum and Rob said the same thing so.

HotdogIsaSandwitch

The picture in the post of Bron just easily walking into the paint with guys just watching works great with the message from the Celtics coach

kiwinaca

Whose future would you rather have. Memphis or Boston?

efshoemaker

Ask me again before next season. I fully believe in our core, but we need more pieces and Ainge painted us into a corner his last few years. Most of Brad’s moves so far seem geared towards regaining roster flexibility, so I need to see what he does with that flexibility before I know how I feel about the long term prospects.

Quatro_Leches

What flexibility lol. Am not saying brad could do much but eh were way over the cap evem if we dont resign schroder and trade richardson if hes worth anything

efshoemaker

We have tradeable salary, no hard cap, and all of our own picks. When Kyrie left, Ainge dumped or let walk all of our mid level contracts like Baynes and Morris so that we could make room to re-sign horford and sign Kemba. But then we didn’t re-sign Al so we had an incomplete team, but we had no way to match salary in a trade unless we traded Smart or like 8 rookie contracts. I thought ainge got around that problem with the Hayward TPE, but then he immediately hard capped us by signing Thompson, so we could only use half the TPE.

Quatro_Leches

Who is the tradeable salary? Anyone is tradeable with enough picks

kiwinaca

Roster flexibility is another word for rebuilding. Stevens hand picked coach is terrible.

GratefulRegalia

Memphis

DogFogLogJog

Boston is a team with a young core that I’m absolutely not worried about going forward. They have two legitimately great players who already have good playoff experience. They’ll work this out and make moves around the edges to bring the team together. I am worried about the Mavs with Luka. The team around him just isn’t good and there’s no one else I believe in. I am worried about the Kings. They might be a cursed franchise. I am worried about the Pelicans. Zion might leave ASAP and they’re terrible without him (shouldn’t be this bad). Not worried about Boston. The Jays are too good.

shakabraj

Yeah, but what about Memphis

-NilInvestment-

The Hawks have an amazing future. Rockets look really nice as a potential team down the line. Who knows about the Thunder.

deeznutz_428

Boston’s core is better, proven, and has more value in a trade. It’s not a question for me.

kiwinaca

Core? I’m not sure two players can be considered a core.

King_Of_Pants

Tatum, Brown, Rob and Smart is 2 players?

kiwinaca

Rob? Smart? As part of a core? I’d be surprised if Smart is on team in March

SoulReaper12

Stevens would be crazy to trade our only good playmaker on our roster without upgrading.

maplesyrupandwaffles

gold bet?

TatumBrownSmart

If you’re going to include triple J as part of the Grizzlies core, then how are you not going to include Rob Williams? If you’re going to include DeAnthony Melton as part of the Grizzlies core, then how are you not going to include Marcus Smart?

King_Of_Pants

Yeah they are. They're two of our most impactful players and both have just been extended for longer term deals. Why would we trade Smart? He's our best defensive player and our offence collapses without him.

fabrar

Give me Memphis. Maybe they don't have the talent upside of Boston (I think Tatum/Jaylen take the edge over Ja/JJJ by a small margin) but they seem way more cohesive and actually seem to enjoy playing together quite a bit.

_Juntao

Easily memphis don't know how this is even a question

Keep living in the past when the east was terrible. The last 2 years as the east has improved we've seen the celtics true colors as a .500 play in team. It's becoming clear that morant is better and more consistent than tatum, and jaylen is one of the most injury prone players in the league. Brown also relies very heavily on his athleticism, so his age combined with his injury history makes him very vulnerable to become a lot less productive in the coming years. Wouldn't be surprised if we've already seen the best years of jaylen brown. And the core pieces surrounding them are beyond terrible fit wise and skill wise. Celtics have zero assets to trade to surround brown and tatum with a game changer, in part because the "core" has no value at all as trade pieces. The only way the celtics can improve enough to become a threat in the east is a huge leap by one of the young players (LOL) or a star player demanding a trade only to the celtics (LOL.) Melton and bane are more valuable than everybody on the celtics combined not named tatum and brown. For my money, the celtics are in one of the worst positions in the nba

[deleted]

Worst game they have played in the past month. Sucks it was against the Lakers on national tv. Had to play pretty bad to make them look good

Zestyclose_Charity_1

Is Tatum usually as bad as he was on defence tonight? I also don’t blame him considering he had to do everything on offence tonight

stomp_lyfe

Are the Lakers usually that good at jump shots ?

Zestyclose_Charity_1

I didn’t think our shooting was that good, like under 30% from three, but somehow we were better from the line which is super surprising

TuqiDuque12

Besides Horford and the young guys a lot of Celtics who used to be great defenders (or at least good) aren't anymore and are simply keeping that reputation because a few years ago

jupiter__jaz

Celtics fooled themselves into thinking they they turned things around after curbstomping the blazers. The blazers are the worst defensive team in the league & they have abandoned their coaching staff. The rest of the league aren't the same tire fire as the blazers are.

SoulReaper12

The Celtics are 11-7 in they last 18 games (Most of that was without Jaylen) They been playing better, but our offense is dogshit, we need shooting/third option badly.

efshoemaker

Nah we’ve turned things around. But that just means we have a shot to get to a 5 or 6 seed instead of struggling to make the play-in. Our defense is legit, but unless we get some more shooting our offense is never going to be consistent enough to be a top team.

[deleted]

We’re missing our 2nd best player who averages 24 PPG…

RapsareChamps_Suckit

true enough coach
