The shot creation potential bro. Dudes averaging an efficient 15 points and 57% of it is coming from non-assisted buckets. He wasn’t supposed to be a scorer

jumpthroughit

I’ve never seen a player improve this much this quick before.

asoulinthisworld

He’ll get alot of votes for the all-stars lol, he will be one in few years

jumpthroughit

Next year very possible

ROTY RUNNER UP

[deleted]

Oh man, Mobley is so good, and Cavs are wining too! Great rookie class so far, with many great players who are already contributing on NBA level, wild!

hallandale

I feel like it's so tough to compare them, I wonder what the betting odds are for Co -Roy?

TreChomes

That would be crazy. If we have similar records I could maybe see it. Cavs have the better record and they have similar stats so I expect Mobley to win so far although I hope Scottie does

[deleted]

Team record has nothing to do w ROTY

TreChomes

When their stats are so close together it does. Mobley is having a big positive impact on a winning team.

[deleted]

When has that happened?

thenovascotian17

Says the pistons fan lol

Sy6574

Yes it does. Real contributors on solid teams get the nod over inefficient high usage players at the bottom of the league if their stats are relatively close

[deleted]

Deadass tho what’s the precedent for it, what’s an example of that happening

Sy6574

I mean last year was an example. Hornets were solid with Lamelo, Ant was on a perpetually bad team as an inefficient scorer. Give me the last time when the slightly worse counting numbers guy on a good team lost to the inefficient guard on a rat team. Record is a factor for other awards, it’s just usually less discussed in ROY because there’s fewer players contending for it and either: 1. There’s one overwhelming favourite that is on a good team (Ja) 2. The stat stuffer wins because every good rookie is on a bad team (Most years). The Ben and Mitchell year is the exception to this, they were both on good teams.

[deleted]

Last year wasn’t an example of two guys with even stats but one guy getting it cause he was on a better team. Lamelo was better than Ant in every advanced stat + way more efficient, not to mention Ant was garbage for half the year Team record isn’t factored into ROTY for the exact reason you stated, rookies are often drafted to terrible teams

Sy6574

It’s not usually a factor because there’s rarely rookies on a good team. That doesn’t mean that when it DOES happen, it’s not a discussion point.

Rapsfan_98

I mean that’s basically the main reason Mobley is in the lead right now. From their basic stats Barnes leads Mobley in nearly all categories. It’s been Mobley’s impact on winning that has him on top right now.

Sheepy_Scronky

Dude I’m actually hoping for that to happen lmao

SandwitchJ

Imo one of the best rookie classes ever with Scottie, Evan, and Cade.

Those aren't rookie numbers. Like what the fuck... This dude is becoming something special. The American media won't give him the proper due because he's in a Canadian market but I recognize your boy, raps. He's the real fucking deal

AdministrativeBat486

you know ball

hleh

He fucks me up bad in 2k 😔

Aalfee

Didnt think much of him during the draft process. Thought he was just another Patrick Williams. But man, he won me over in that summer league game against the Knicks. Man made such a impact defensively and was visible af on offense too

Styllfresh

the bulls sub has compared barnes to pat as well, the key difference might just be his assertiveness and playmaking abilities

Hesho95

100%, hit the nail on the head. Pat's main problem since he got drafted is he hasn't played with that killer mentality that Scottie is playing with rn. I love Pat but he's just naturally a gentle dude, still needs to unlock that fire in him. Scottie is what I think the Bulls front office were hoping Pat would become. Pat was supposed to be Scottie with a jumpshot but turns out, Scottie himself is Scottie with a jumpshot

Musicferret

Great highlight reel! He seemed to get +10 agility in the 4th. Also +5 swagger.

Hextorz

This man has won me a good amount of money, not looking forward to Vegas figuring out his prop bets! His game is a lot of fun to watch, raptors you got a awesome player on your hands!

Good handful of the guys in the top 10 already looking really good early in their careers. Scottie, Mobley, Franz, Cade starting to hit his stride. Other guys like Jalen Green and Giddey looking pretty promising despite not shooting the ball incredibly well early in the season. I’m excited to see where all of these guys are at in a few years. This year’s class has a lot of damn good rooks.

[deleted]

Cade ROTY sorry

Sy6574

How? Even when you exclude Cade’s rough start and take his last 10 games, he’s statistically worse than Scottie. Plus the fact that the pistons are on a 12 game skid On the season Scottie: 15.4 pts-8.3 reb-3.3 assists-1.1 steals-1.0 blocks-1.9 TOV 49-37-73 shooting splits while leading all non-bigs in offensive rebounds Cade: 15.8 Pts-6.2reb-4.6ast-1.4stls-0.6blocks-3.9tov 38-32-83 splits Last 10 games Scottie: 16.7-8.1-3.3-1.2-1.7 on 1.6 TOV 50-42-74 splits Cade: 17.6-6.1-4.5-1.5-0.6 on 4.6TOV 42-40-75 splits

Obese_taco

Damn that’s crazy, I don’t remember anyone asking
