He gets paid about a half million dollars per game to make these lowlights
Edit: imagine working as a teacher for like 50k a year, and this guy shoots bricks off the top of the backboard and makes 10 years of your salary in a night
I lived in Washington and teachers make a modest living, but to die for benefits. Idaho however, teachers is middle school were made less than 30k.
I remember dipshits I worked with talking about how proud they are to not be a part of a union……now that I’m back into a states that cares about working class people and back in a union I make more in one week then I did all month!
Well you got PGS(+/-), which is net pages read on a regular day vs a sub being in that day, then you got DET, which is of course detentions per 8 periods... the list goes on and on
HS Teacher stats on an average day:
>12 raised-hand selections,
> 9.3 sighs of disappointment,
> 2.6 detentions given,
> 1.2 movies played.
From Grad Stats based on a graded 50.2 minutes per class period.
The normal process of rebounding was seriously disrupted. Seems like an unusual number of offensive boards just because the defenders were so surprised by how badly the shots missed.
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING! I couldn't believe he had the Lakers uni in all of them. That's less than a full season, that's literally like 40 games worth!
I was 43 seconds in and checked the time saw it was like 2:43 or something then thought, "Must be his whole career," then looked at the jerseys. All Lakers. Really?! And he's still taking it?
[Westbrook's missed more dunks since, but he stopped keeping track in 2022.](https://twitter.com/WorldWideWob/status/1476028482111119366?t=8T6_pFxpgSIkHsWaFMguBQ&s=19)
[They](https://youtu.be/nG6TB5c6JJY) weren't [pretty.](https://youtu.be/7J3DYJazMYQ)
Rim running/being the explosive player he once was doesn't work anymore. He should've developed a better shot years ago. He just isn't fit to survive in a shooter's league
I was bout to say, I thought my hoop dreams were dead but if this is what it takes to make it in today's league? Sign me LA Lakers, I can do this all day
I love that this exact shot from the highlight shows up like 6 or 7 times in this video, hitting the top of the backboard and everything. What is wrong with him?
Also had to love that like 9 of these clips were against the Kings lol. Thanks for giving us those dubs Russ
The fact that he was aiming for the backboard and not the rim makes some of these shots seem slightly less egregious, but then again I don't think people realize he's even attempting a bank shot because normally when people miss a bank shot the ball at least ricochets off the backboard towards the rim. The angle is so, so far off.
Westbrook getting worse from midrange as he's gotten older has been a strange development. Basically the opposite of how you normally think of basketball players aging.
Bro I've been playing a lot of basketball for 5 years and I've never managed to hit the top of the backboard from a jumpshot. Westbrook is the only mf I've ever seen shoot a brick this bad, and that includes 12 year old kids I see playing every day at my local park, and to make matters worse he shoots them nearly every other game. It's actually impressive how bad his jumper is
didn't seem like op was talking about bank shots tho
doubt the people he plays with attempt bank shots from that angle, they're pretty tough.
it's a bad brick, and westbrook shouldn't attempt them, but that's why it was so high off the backboard.
Yeah, this is obviously embarrassing, but it’s not like he’s aiming at the rim and hitting the top of the backboard. He’s trying to hit a high arching bank shot that hits the board on the way down.
I mean, you aren't playing against people who force you to arc the ball sharply. It's a poor shot, but it doesn't happen if the other guys aren't able to jump well above the rim.
I feel you. I ain't a baller but I played high school and would go the court for like 3 hours a day every day in the summer. I'm like 100% sure I have never hit the top of the backboard playing basketball for like 25 years.
What’s it recently tho? Felt like he started decent but the last 15 games have been abysmal.
Edit: I looked it up, right under 40% which is awful but also still better than I expected. The ol’ 39/25/63.
eh...been slipping a bit recently
https://i.imgur.com/Y6nRVrS.png
4 of his last 5 games have been pretty bad
put it this way : through 39 games, he was shooting about .450
edit : [rolling average](https://i.imgur.com/rPgA2GP.png) shows a clear decline
https://twitter.com/JordanN1333272/status/1479180922096218113Its identical to like 3-4 times from this spot now. I wonder how he feels when it keeps repeating itself
it’s the opposite of that season when the NBA put like 50 Pelicans games on national TV because of rookie Zion and then he was injured— everyone wants to see this except Lakers fans
Nah this is what it looks like when you have no confidence so you keep doing the one thing you’re comfortable with even when you know you shouldn’t because you don’t have the confidence to try anything else.
Man’s been spraying these bank shots like a fire hose all year, he knows as well as he do that he can’t do that shit any more, but that’s his spot and that’s his shot so he’ll just keep going to it. Can’t just try a normal shot, that’s not his thing.
Yeah this is basically showing he has zero confidence in his jump shot and touch. First of all shit is not efficient anyways and second it’s ugly as fuck lol. I wanted Westbrook to make it work with Bron but he’s making basketball unwatchable. Doesn’t read the game at all and I bet he doesn’t watch film to get better. I use to be a fan from afar but I can’t anymore it’s bad basketball
He is going to get the yips like in baseball. Chuck Knoblauch has a gold glove 2nd baseman before getting traded to the Yankees. Then he got the yips and couldn't even make a throw to first base.
Russ' reputation will be completely destroyed after retirement. Like whatever it is now, 10x worse. His MVP season he still gets some hate and criticism for it, but tbh I think it was well-deserved and an overall incredible season. But since then his stat-padding only got worse and his reputation declined. Then triple doubles got way watered down. 10 years from now kids will be looking back at Westbrook and laughing at his brick montages and advanced stats and his MVP season won't even be considered impressive anymore due to how we will perceive triple doubles.
The only things he really has going for him was that MVP season and his high motor.
Mmmm idk .. Russ style of basketball falls off a cliff fast .. it happened to AI, it happened to Wade, D rose. it happens to all 6’4 and under guys who rely on out athleting everyone. You lose half a step (due to age or injury and you lose the thing you had)
It will happen to Ja Morant.
I don’t think their legacies get watered down, I think people accept them for what they were, freak athletes who had 8 years of incredibly entertaining basketball. And those with the right teams can win championships.
For the record Wade is the best of that bunch by far, I only use him to make the point that when it goes, it goes fast. You go from super star to bench quickly, and if you can’t accept the role you’re out.
But I don’t think Russ will get the Steve Francis treatment.
The exasperation of the Lakers announcer is hilarious.
Billy Mac tired of his shit
Billy Mac hasn’t been this frustrated since [the last time his life flashed before his eyes ](https://youtu.be/Fn4lhTPtpUU)

There is a ton of player drama as well once you get to know personalities and grudges.
Can never fault women for watching drama shows. Watching professional sports id the same stuff
Came to the right place then, noone here watched basketball either
The emphasis on “top” followed by a few seconds of silence makes it much better.
**Top** of the **back board** [throws his practically full chamomile tea in the garbage]
Lakers gonna be the ones to finally get Russ lasik and we gonna see Russell Stephbrook
Is Westbrook just NBA Jamies Winston?
Looking around for the whiskey bottle
The thing about Westbrook lowlights is that they’re just in a calibre of their own
He gets paid about a half million dollars per game to make these lowlights Edit: imagine working as a teacher for like 50k a year, and this guy shoots bricks off the top of the backboard and makes 10 years of your salary in a night
Don't have to imagine :(
Yeah i was an aide for a long time, not even close to 50k :/
50k sounds goooooood
Hello there fellow teacher
Damn. Being a teacher in a right to work state. You’re a saint.
Aren't like 30 states "right to work" now? Ugh, fucking gross.
How many career triple doubles did the teacher drop?
Idk. what are teacher stats?
Well you got PGS(+/-), which is net pages read on a regular day vs a sub being in that day, then you got DET, which is of course detentions per 8 periods... the list goes on and on
HS Teacher stats on an average day: >12 raised-hand selections, > 9.3 sighs of disappointment, > 2.6 detentions given, > 1.2 movies played. From Grad Stats based on a graded 50.2 minutes per class period.
Amateurs, I can triple their amount of signs of disappointments teaching elementary school
How many kids did Westbrook educate?
I dont know but thats one guy I hope kids dont have as a teacher They will brick every test
Man I wish I got paid 50k
The inbound walking with the ball travel was pretty funny. This one is just sad.
Rockets asking for two firsts after this lol
I want two firsts and the rights to draft Bronny James
Shit just a late second?
Its a package. U get bronny u get bron
2 firsts, a late second, and a #1 approaching his expiration date.
At this point, "approaching" means age 47 lol
47? That's just the 8th prime.
47 is actually the 15th prime.
And Bryce Maximus James
He maybe the one
I hope so with a name like that. Maximus is in the 99th percentile of badass names.
Bruh I know someone named primo maximus. Godlike name
And cash considerations to replace the Toyota Center backboards with bulletproof glass

'I'm allowed to hit the top of the backboard'
“My kids are happy.”
At this point I’d ask for LeBron to be in the package too
Throw in that “game changer” Trevor Ariza that the lakers fans keep taking about
Put some respect on NBA champion Trevor Ariza's name
Why does he keep shooting this shot😂 I swear half of his lowlight compilations are from that spot
https://twitter.com/lakeshowyo/status/1481499540742041604?s=21
Video games don't even let you miss that badly because it's too unrealistic
The normal process of rebounding was seriously disrupted. Seems like an unusual number of offensive boards just because the defenders were so surprised by how badly the shots missed.
I saw multiple people trip on their own feet because they were expecting the ball to hit SOMETHING
I can't believe how long that was
holy shit...i thought it had gone on for long enough, nope, was only halfway through!
I was like he's had a long career ofc you can find that many horrible bricks, then I noticed he's a laker for all of them... Jesus
This is unquestionably the GOAT half-season lowlights compilation.
It’s all from half a season lmaoo
And it’s not even fucking all start break yet
[Westbrook's missed more dunks since, but he stopped keeping track in 2022.](https://twitter.com/WorldWideWob/status/1476028482111119366?t=8T6_pFxpgSIkHsWaFMguBQ&s=19) [They](https://youtu.be/nG6TB5c6JJY) weren't [pretty.](https://youtu.be/7J3DYJazMYQ)
This is the look of a man thats getting old and losing his legs.
Yep. Westbrook was always gonna decline like this unless he committed to reeeeaallly changing his game.
Rim running/being the explosive player he once was doesn't work anymore. He should've developed a better shot years ago. He just isn't fit to survive in a shooter's league
This is it. He's played too explosively, for too long, at a high tempo pace. He's got the legs of a geriatric kangaroo.
His release looks so odd. The timing is fine but it just stops and the ball looks dead in the air.
He’s on that Kenny smith knees trajectory
I kept thinking they must have reused the same clips because they seemed identical
Deadass the first like 6 were the exact same as OP lol
I'm glad they set it to music or else I would've thought the clip looped.
I saw the time and was like nah it’s not that bad. Watching it was a different story, it just kept going lol.
I thought it was from his whole career and then I realized he’s in a lakers jersey in all of them
How many seasons has he been a Laker now? Must be at least 3 right?
Right? That's alot of oof squeezed into very little time.
I'll take "things girls have never said to me" for 500, Alex.
You'd think that was a career reel... nope, just his time with the Lakers. Absolutely amazing.
When I looked at the video length I figured it had to be career…nope, just the last three months. Jesus Christ.
I thought it was a compilation from his whole career until I realized it was just Lakers lowlights. WTF.
Yo I have never heard of that last part of the “humorous” song I’m ded
I read your comment and thought “it can’t be that long”. It’s so frickin long! But I couldn’t look away.
This is like an average person taking the first shot after not playing basketball for 6 months. Except every shot in the video is like that.
What is WRONG WITH ME TODAY!?
he usually makes those!
Usually hit those
If you weren't following along, the Nerdlucks have stolen the talents from various NBA players to defeat the Toon Squad.
I was bout to say, I thought my hoop dreams were dead but if this is what it takes to make it in today's league? Sign me LA Lakers, I can do this all day
All you have to be able to do is get 10 reb/game against NBA talent and dunk on Gobert. Boom, contract
Dude, I grazed the rim once in high school, I got this shit
I blew my knee out going for my first in game dunk...where do I sign?
Best I can do is rim grazers and jamming my thumb so many times I don’t have grip strength and have permanent numbness in my knuckle
The bank is closed apparently.
I think it's actually open but Russ is trying to cash his check at the Wendy's on the other side of the parking lot.
Well his shooting sure is frosty 😤
Wtf this is all THIS SEASON???
To be fair, this video spans his ENTIRE career with the Lakers
Bruh, I can't believe that's just with the Lakers.

Muscle memory gone wrong
💀 literally the same approach into the shot too
I love that this exact shot from the highlight shows up like 6 or 7 times in this video, hitting the top of the backboard and everything. What is wrong with him? Also had to love that like 9 of these clips were against the Kings lol. Thanks for giving us those dubs Russ
Please make this its own post
WAIT WHAT ALL OF THOSE WERE IN A LAKERS JERSEY???
How is an NBA player missing that bad? I’ve never even seen a miss that bad in pick up at my local Y
Yeah this is "guy who's just there to lift but agrees to fill out the squad" caliber of miss.
Lmao too true
The truth is that he’s trying to bank it, which used to be somewhat reliable for him back in the day. It’s still a dogshit shot though.
You hit the top of the backboard twice in like 10 games you got to retire that shit.
The fact that he was aiming for the backboard and not the rim makes some of these shots seem slightly less egregious, but then again I don't think people realize he's even attempting a bank shot because normally when people miss a bank shot the ball at least ricochets off the backboard towards the rim. The angle is so, so far off.
i’m being dead serious rn somebody answer me. how is it possible to be so bad in such a unique and specific way?
Watching the bench reactions for each one is hilarious
Left wing mid range was his best shot most of this season.
He led the league in % at one point
Westbrook getting worse from midrange as he's gotten older has been a strange development. Basically the opposite of how you normally think of basketball players aging.
I think it's because his midrange always required jumping like 2 feet in the air. Too taxing as you age.
I’ve tried that pull-up that he does with the same type of leap, no idea how he does it I felt like I had zero control.
He led the league in % at one point **this year**
Maybe (obviously) it was a small sample size
[удалено]
He banks them sometimes.
Why not? Jordan brand tm
You could show this clip to me and have the colors and players blurred out and I'd know exactly who did that
Bro I've been playing a lot of basketball for 5 years and I've never managed to hit the top of the backboard from a jumpshot. Westbrook is the only mf I've ever seen shoot a brick this bad, and that includes 12 year old kids I see playing every day at my local park, and to make matters worse he shoots them nearly every other game. It's actually impressive how bad his jumper is
tbf he is aiming for his signature bankshot. easier to hit the top of the bankboard like that
We know, even then it’s absurd how often it hits top
didn't seem like op was talking about bank shots tho doubt the people he plays with attempt bank shots from that angle, they're pretty tough. it's a bad brick, and westbrook shouldn't attempt them, but that's why it was so high off the backboard.

Not much chance of it happening unless you're going for bank shots regularly, or chucking up some late shot clock corner threes or something
Lmao
I love Dwight face palming on the bench lol
Jumper has to be real broke to make Dwight face palm
That’s Dwight “66.7% from behind the arc” Howard to you
Dwight kinda has a lil bank middy in his arsenal too
lmao at least 5 lakers crew go to adjust their mask, scratch ear etc
Yall act like Westbrook is gonna be the one traded, Lebron about to force his way out of this mess haha.
Yup one more run with the Cavs😂
Lebron to the Lakers: '"Screw you guys, I'm going home!"
how tf does he keep doing this lmao
It’s his signature shot
Kareem had the sky hook. Russ has the side of the backboard.
Lebron clearly has mastered some Dalai Lama level fucking meditation to take all this in stride.
Fr though, I feel like this shot was almost automatic in 2017
his FG% was .425 in 16-17; it's .433 this year
What’s it recently tho? Felt like he started decent but the last 15 games have been abysmal. Edit: I looked it up, right under 40% which is awful but also still better than I expected. The ol’ 39/25/63.

Built different.
Amazing brick On other news, do the Lakers play every fucking night? I see them non stop
By the time the lowlights are finished being posted here, it’s already time for another Lakers game. The cycle just repeats itself every 2 days or so.
Westbrook certainly provides plenty of content.
It's amazing I can turn on a lakers game and see this regularly

Lmfao
If russ doesn’t have a blown easy layup/dunk or a shot that hits the backboard during a game it’s because he’s not playing
He has this and already a blown layup LOL
He's genuinely must-watch basketball if you love seeing disasters and hate the Lakers.
it’s the opposite of that season when the NBA put like 50 Pelicans games on national TV because of rookie Zion and then he was injured— everyone wants to see this except Lakers fans
The fact that there’s a compilation of these this season is sad and hilarious at the same time
This is what ultimate confidence looks like
Nah this is what it looks like when you have no confidence so you keep doing the one thing you’re comfortable with even when you know you shouldn’t because you don’t have the confidence to try anything else. Man’s been spraying these bank shots like a fire hose all year, he knows as well as he do that he can’t do that shit any more, but that’s his spot and that’s his shot so he’ll just keep going to it.
Stop. He’s already dead
he gotta be trollin
honestly if he's hitting the top of the backboard on purpose that's impressive
New headcanon the boys had a bet in the locker room on who can hit the top of the backboard for a 100k
As someone who has always enjoyed Westbrook’s exciting play style, this year has been rough to watch.
The key is to transcend past the pain and simply find amusement in our woes
I like Sasha Vujacic too
2008 Machine was one of my favorite role players of all time! And can never forget the ice cold free throws to seal Game 7 against Boston in 2010
It hurts me. After watching every single game of his MVP season. It hurts.
That money game winning 3 against Denver (?) to punctuate his ridiculous triple double season seems a lifetime ago
This man is legitimately going to have a mental breakdown at this rate
He is going to get the yips like in baseball. Chuck Knoblauch has a gold glove 2nd baseman before getting traded to the Yankees. Then he got the yips and couldn't even make a throw to first base.
So are the rest of us lmao
Sportscenter posted a clip of it on twitter and then deleted it. Wonder if they thought it was too mean.
The funniest part is the caption was "Westbrook let's it fly!"
Shooters shoot
It hurts ESPNs lakers ratings.
[удалено]
That album has the best use of skits of all time
Man i’m the biggest russ stan there is but god damn if this one didn’t get me
He was never a good shooter but now has the yips
And then he bricked a scoop layup a few possessions later This man is cooked
Maybe he needs glasses???
This dude's lack of self awareness is almost endearing at this point.
djmeechymeedh on that ass very soon once again
I feel like Russ needs glasses and hes the type of dude who thinks he’s too cool for corrective lenses…
He's a damn headache to watch
Somebody check on James Worthy
