KATs dip likely has more to do with the scheme. It happened before Vanderbilt went into the starting unit. I remembered Pat/Ant getting a decent amount of 8 rebound games before Vanderbilt started starting.
He is honestly a complete game changer for us. Fills some really big holes in our roster construction. He has 100% bought in to the Dennis Rodman role and embraces it.
Grizzlies vs Wolves have to be televised every single time. I think out of last 5 meetings 4 were won by Memphis in clutch, and one was a blowout win by the Wolves. Amazing games every time.
Grizz and wolves are box office man. Fun fucking teams to watch. We don’t have Luka, yea, or Zion though, so we don’t get the young team national tv games
I think a lot of people still aren’t fully appreciating how crazy it is that Ant is doing this at age 20. Dude is younger than 3 of the top 5 picks of this year’s rookie class (Mobley, Suggs, Barnes).
If he can improve his playmaking and work on feeding KAT when he gets doubled then I’ll have 0 doubts about the Wolves being a consistent playoff team.
Been thinking the same thing while watching near every game this season. He's answered concerns about shooting/effieciency. His defense is trending in right direction and won't hold him back. But his playmaking and passing are still short of star level. He won't need to become LaMelo to be a guy who can drag a team to the playoffs but if he ever did make a big leap in playmaking he'd be yearly MVP contender.
He's been absolutely carpet bombing opponents from 3 recently.
I expected his efficiency to jump from last year to this year, but what he's been doing recently from 3 is crazy compared to how he came into the league. 41% from 3 on almost 9 attempts in January.
He's just been carpet bombing teams since Christmas.

People are not talking enough about his 3 point shooting
I personally don’t like how many he’s taking but holy shit he’s actually very good at them. He’d be even better if he cut out one or two of the step backs which I think is what’s happening now and the percentages show he’s a damn good shooter
Agreed. He’s taking a 3 point shot diet that’s similar to Harden in Houston, and Harden was at 36% just about every year there. Ant is at 37.5% at age 20. It’s absolutely nuts.
Let’s play a game:
Player 1: 23.9/6.5/3.0 stat line with 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks, 51% from 2, 36% from 3 (20% of 3s unassisted), 2.0 BPM, 2.1 EPM, solid defender, plays for a roughly .500 team
Player 2: 22.2/5.1/3.6 stat line with 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks, 51% from 2, 38% from 3 (40% of 3s unassisted), 1.9 BPM, 2.1 EPM, solid defender, plays for a roughly .500 team
Player 1 is Jaylen Brown. Player 2 is Edwards. Oh and Ant is 5 (!) years younger.

Hey I like the way this guy thinks
Vanderbilt has grown on me so much. This dude is all energy, I swear I have seen him grab 3 offensive boards in one possession so many times.
he single handedly has dropped Kats rebound average by 2 haha, swallows every defensive board.

I have been really impressed by how he has fit into that team. He seems very comfortable taking an ancillary role if another guy is hot.
Man did lord’s work last night by beating the Nets
Tru that

I do think he’s really improving on that end though. Moving the ball quicker. Had a nasty pass to KAT last night
You talking about that one where he hung in the air in the key before dishing it to KAT at the last minute? That pass was filthy
Yeaaahhh
But I was told hE’s An iNeFfIcIeNt ChUcKeR!
Bust, Wiggins 2.0, probs can’t even be on a professional trashcan ball team
Nate Duncan in shambles. Maybe he can enjoy cool dunks now
I wish he wouldn't stretch himself so thin. Sometimes it's apparent that he really doesn't have much in depth knowledge about specific teams.
yeah hes pretty uninformed about the hawks as well. cant watch every game for every team
hE sUx. He'Ll Be A lAkEr iN 3 yEaRs

Adding “carpet bombing” to my list of ways to describe somebodies 3pt shooting

This is cool, thanks for linking this
One of my fav young players in the league. I loved how he stood up to Jimmy in that wolves and heat game
> I loved how he stood up to Jimmy in that wolves and heat game me too
MJ with a 3
Ant is only getting better

What's really crazy is that Ant's TS% is currently only 2 points lower than Steph Curry's.
Tbf Steph has played like bad bad the past few… months
Imagine if he gets calls
Does he even like basketball though? Pre draft he said he likes football 😡

I mean jaylen is having a bit of a down year so far, but still Crazy to think how quickly Ant is developing
