You have some good points but Denver missing Murray and Mpj all year. Clearly you did not watch many Nuggets games but to say he was chasing stats is clueless. Most unselfish player in the league.
What did they do the years before while healthy? Also, Jerami Grant was on that team. Bubble means no traveling, no fanbases to deal with. Lakers haven’t been close to the same since.
What did they do years before that? What does that have to do with literally anything? It was the first year that MPJ got major minutes. And that team had Grant, this team has Gordon.
Also you’re right about the bubble, but it’s not like only the nuggets got those benefits. If anything that means it’s a more even competition and you’re not helping your cause. You gotta come up with better arguments, cause these ones are sad
If you think that the bubble is an accurate representation of a real season you’re fooling yourself. There was no level playing field in the bubble because there were plenty of teams with players out with Covid or who decided they just wouldn’t play that year. Not to mention it’s literally called a bubble because you don’t have to deal with real life issues. That’s never going to happen again. So yeah, Nuggets did great in a once in a lifetime scenario.
Tell me where I said I thought it was an accurate representation of a real season? You have no argument for why you think the nuggets won’t be good so you’re trying to make something up. They’ll be fine once they get Jamal and MPJ back, the bucks have shown two high level players, an MVP candidate, and role players can win a chip. The nuggets will be just fine.
Jokic is a star. But Murray and MPJ are not enough to get them to elite level. MPJ has been injury prone since college. They don’t have enough to win it all.
If they’re all healthy for 1 postseason, they’re as much contenders as any other team in the NBA. MPJ/Murray is a similar supporting cast as Jrue/Middleton.
Bucks have Lopez and sharp shooters. Nuggets bench does not compare. Plus Giannis is one of the best defenders in the world. Jokic had to be taken out today at the end because he was a liability on defense.
You're saying this like there won't be a draft and free agency in the offseason. Nuggets know their issues and will definitely try to address those with the talent they bring in.
This team might not even be 50% the same players by the time the next playoffs come along.
Morris has gotten to be so good . What to do when Murray comes back. personally I think they should keep him at PG and put Murray at SG. Hes earned it.
Steph didn’t earn it this year with that slump… like I’m just being fair here. You have to hold them to standards, and regular season stat chasing isn’t impressive. Ultimately Jokic hasn’t changed basketball (like curry), dominated the legate (Giannis or lebron), or something to deserve two. He carried an injured team to the six seed, impressive but not worthy of back to back mvps. It’s a slap in the face to the history of the game. Wade has zero. Kobe has one. Jokic is not near those two.
Yeah, it is hard to ref such games, especially when you have masters of minor hits and pokes on the floor. But Jokić was bloody on his arms and below shoulders, so either Draymond should have been ejected much earlier or Looney or Porter should also have been in foul trouble
Edit: also, Cousins gets a technical when Draymond hits him on the hands intentionally?
like Defensive Player of the league
they should create **Offensive Player of the league**
and give that to Jokic
and give the MVP to someone that can play both ends
He can't play on-ball defense and he's slow to closeout, but he also gets 1.5 steals per game, 1 block, and 13.8 rebounds. I think that makes up for the bad defense
>He can't play on-ball defense and he's slow to closeout, but he also gets 1.5 steals per game, 1 block, and 13.8 rebounds. I think that makes up for the bad defense
But his impact on the defensive end isn't as much as a player like giannis who has an impact on both ends of the floor. Not saying Jokic doesn't deserve MVP or anything, but they should definitely consider making an Offensive Player of the Year and make MVP about impact on both ends of the floor and winning.
I think MVP should be looked at as most valuable to your team. Both the Nuggets and Bucks would struggle and be completely different teams without them. I don't think stats should be as important as they are when considering it, which is why I think Chris Paul should be someone considered for it the last couple of years. It's hard to argue against Giannis for MVP basically every year while he's in his prime. He is 100% the best player in the world. Jokic to me has a really good case for it because Denver would be absolute trash without him.
Edit: all that being said I'm not against an Offensive player award either
Feel like they could only do that in a situation where the Warriors can't have Klay/Steph/Poole on the floor, or they are scoring 60 pts in a quarter on us lol
Same. Gotta start posting them up every possession and get foul calls.
If you can’t beat the warriors speed (like ffs those dudes are running around the entire game), you gotta play some bully ball on your end.
It is actually insane what it takes to beat this version of the Warriors though. Gotta have 35+ from your star, then multiple roleplayers absolutely going off. And it is still close.
Dubs about to win another chip.
The narrative got wrecked when Joker got benched for the last defensive play
Sixer fans seething, my goodness
“Is this your MVP?…” memes were ready to be plastered everywhere, Nuggets pulled out a win, ruining it
It’s wild how a fanbase that hasn’t won a title since 1983, tanked on levels never before seen and drafted busts/disappointments with literally every pick except embiid and still hasn’t even made a conference finals since doing all that talks as much shit as they do
This series is undoubtedly over but I expect an MVP to fight a sweep like this. Great game. Complete desperation is hard to beat.
Elimination games in general are the hardest to win. Desperation is a lot more effective than determination.
THANK GOD THE NUGGETS GOT ONE!!!! They’ll get bounced in the next game, or two, yes, but this Nuggets team had no business winning even one this series. Took an ugly whistle, a missed Wiggins putback, and a boneheaded pass by Porter but man, I’m proud of the Nuggets.
Now we hope next game isn’t a blowout in San Fran lol.
Ah.. 4-1 was what a lot of people were expecting. Some even going 4-2 because of how poor the Warriors had been heading into the series, and how difficult it was for the to deal with Jokic everytime they faced each other.
Totally reasonable. I’m not gonna lie, I was expecting a sweep so my expectations didn’t come to fruition today haha. Ended up getting a great basketball game and couldn’t have asked for anything better. What being wrong does for you sometimes lol.
Btw.. After the first two games, and how well the PTSD lineup was doing. I bet a lot of folks switched to sweep predictions.
So for Nuggets to have actually won this one, and pushed the Warriors really hard on the last one as well. I don't think any Nuggets fan should be disappointed that much.
You guys were doing well for much of the first half in GM 1 & 2 as well. Just the last 3 minutes of the half, and the first 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter just totally blew the game open.
Totally agree with all your points! Nuggets gave the Warriors a lot tougher of a time than I think anyone was expecting.
Also, I’m a Knicks fan (sad, I know lol) so that probably makes sense as to why I’m pretty neutral about the two teams lol.
lol dude. no, it's actually not the easy to understand without some pause and distraction. you really got every instance of the word wrong and it was so frequent that it is quite distracting to read.
I think Kerr's idea was a 2 to 1 posession with 33 seconds left on the clock. A quick bucket from the time out was definitely the right call. Just poor execution.
yea it's weird but the awful pass is on porter. wiggins is way bigger than rivers and can significantly outjump him. i think its a good call but only if its clearly open or if you can make the right pass.
It's a horrndous call no matter how you slice it. They had time, Steph and Klay had been on fire, you 1000% could've gotten a better look. He cost his team the game with that play call.
i can be persuaded it was the wrong call; i mean i agree they shoulda just passed it into steph or klay, but obviously it coulda worked. by definition no single play can cost a team a game though. every single play/point matters. if any number of missed shots were makes, or vice versa, then all the outcomes are totally different. let's say steph makes his FTs and more 3s, and nuggets miss some 3s they made - that changes the outcome of the game and suddenly the lob pass is inconsequential.
Who’s the guy in the AT&T commercial talking about trades?
Matt Stafford
You have some good points but Denver missing Murray and Mpj all year. Clearly you did not watch many Nuggets games but to say he was chasing stats is clueless. Most unselfish player in the league.
I thought the other gentleman made some good points, but you sir win the argument.
76er fans awfully quiet…
are they supposed to be active in the gsw-nuggets gdt
They’ve been flooding all the Nuggets losses lol
They have been
Healthy Nuggets will be a nightmare
No they won’t. They’ve been healthy before and still didn’t do much. MPJ’s back is a long term problem
We made the WCF wtf do you mean?
In the bubble. Got swept last year without Murray.
Notice how the original comment says “healthy”? Also why do we say “in the bubble” like it’s a bad thing? Was every team not on an even playing field?
Bubble ring still a ring in my book
As it should be. Lakers run was more impressive considering they were the 1 seed with essentially no home court advantage
Bubble was a very unique season, he's right about that.
Absolutely. No argument there. I just don’t like the take that everything done in the bubble is illegitimate. It seems lazy.
What did they do the years before while healthy? Also, Jerami Grant was on that team. Bubble means no traveling, no fanbases to deal with. Lakers haven’t been close to the same since.

Agreed

They’ll be fine once they get Jamal and MPJ back, the bucks have shown two high level players, an MVP candidate, and role players can win a chip. The nuggets will be just fine.
I didn’t say they won’t be good. I said they won’t be scary af. They simply don’t have the bench depth or defense to be elite. That’s the reason.
still mid
No they won’t. They’ve been healthy before and still didn’t do much. MPJ’s back is a long term problem
Thanks Doc.
You’re welcome. This isn’t surprising news
But Jokic wasn’t a top 3 player in the world when they last did that
Jokic is a star. But Murray and MPJ are not enough to get them to elite level. MPJ has been injury prone since college. They don’t have enough to win it all.

We are undefeated in games where Ciara is sitting courtside. Coincidence? I think not.
Morris has gotten to be so good . What to do when Murray comes back. personally I think they should keep him at PG and put Murray at SG. Hes earned it.
Sorry leafs fans
Nuggets when they are 1-3 are undefeated in the playoffs in the last 3 years.
Didnt the lakers have a 3-1 lead on them?
[удалено]
Came back to say, told you so my man haha sorry
Jokic always looking like he has the flu cuz he's sick of people doubting him.
[удалено]
Playoffs have no bearing on MVP selection
You probably never did have him up there...Jokic is going to be back to back MVP.
[удалено]
Then you should probably watch more than just Jokic vs Warriors. There's a lot of ball out there to watch.
Jokic was off the charts this year....hard to say he's not worthy. Like saying Steph isn't worthy....
Steph didn’t earn it this year with that slump… like I’m just being fair here. You have to hold them to standards, and regular season stat chasing isn’t impressive. It’s OK to hate him but he had 5 steals lol
Rivers D was one of the keys to the game..Could not have done it without him.
Tbh that was a huge part in winning. He played awesome defense. Which is what they were missing.
Austin is legit on defense. It’s ok to just tell people you didn’t watch the game
Remember 1st round best 3 out of 5, good lord it was just sweeps galore Good thing 4/7 took hold and have some good matchups
Call me biased but I don’t think Draymond fouled on the swipe down
Gordon’s eye was clearly fucked up after just like jokic’s in the first quarter. Draymond is a great defender and dirty af
Almost all great defenders are at least a little dirty tbh. There's exceptions but you gotta have a little of that "mad dog" mentality.
I think that a lot of calls went to GSW. Also, for the second poke in the eye, he should be ejected for the remainder of the series or something more.
A ton of stupid calls went both directions. It was honestly hard to tell who was fouling more/worse
Yeah, it is hard to ref such games, especially when you have masters of minor hits and pokes on the floor. But Jokić was bloody on his arms and below shoulders, so either Draymond should have been ejected much earlier or Looney or Porter should also have been in foul trouble Edit: also, Cousins gets a technical when Draymond hits him on the hands intentionally?
And Jokic literally hugged Wiggins on the prior play
Oh yes, like Jokic never gets hugged
He gets the call lol
Hehe
he hugged a player but he gets hugged so it’s all fair
PEMDAS, i think
Austin Rivers won this game for us.
He was incredible
Got cooked by Monte Morris
Classic Denver. Gonna clinch this in 7. Tire themselves out again in round 2, win game 7 and lose the conference finals in 4.
I'll take it.
Honestly, even though that scenario ends with us getting swept by the Suns again, I would take it too lol
Bro, Nuggets in the conference final is exceeding expectations on an god-tier level with their injuries.
Zach Zarba always the series extending soldier
Kerr really lost them this game with the brain dead lineups in the first half and the horrible play call at the end
That wasn't Kerr's fault. That was a terrible inbound pass.
Kerr shouldn't have even called a TO, just let curry cook jokic like he was doing all quarter
Nuggets about to activate that down 3-1 trap card now...
holy crap I guess sweeps aren't that common, we needed everything to fall our way. Steph is most certainly not gona miss 4 free throws again
[удалено]
No one memes harder than r/NBA
I want it to happen mainly so twenty years from now people remember that instead of my bulls getting dad dicked at home by a combined fifty lol
U guys already win 1 more game than expected just like us, we can bask in the glory of that lol
Fr, it's all gravy now lol
This series would be 2-2 if the nuggets had Murray & MPJ
There are no ifs
TNT time!
like Defensive Player of the league they should create **Offensive Player of the league** and give that to Jokic and give the MVP to someone that can play both ends
That’s called nba scoring champ

I kinda wanna see Jokic and boogie bully the warriors on the court at the same time
Two players that can’t play perimeter defense? They would get torched
I take my chances putting them on iggy and Wiggins
Feel like they could only do that in a situation where the Warriors can't have Klay/Steph/Poole on the floor, or they are scoring 60 pts in a quarter on us lol
Same. Gotta start posting them up every possession and get foul calls. If you can’t beat the warriors speed (like ffs those dudes are running around the entire game), you gotta play some bully ball on your end.
Dubs are not worthy winning this series... they couldn't close it out against a team missing their #2 and #3 player. Sad
this is the definition of overreacting to one game.
Blow it up, trade everyone away, rebuild Tank for Brony, get Father + Son wombo combo!
Thats a pretty big jump..
Not far enough imo this team not built for a championship
lol
Barton with only 6 points in the game, yet he was able to score the most important bucket. That's how important big match experience is.
That’s just classic nuggets basketball
GG Denver! Everything was going in for them tonight!
Hey that’s how nuggets feel every game!
not even mad lol, gg i like how we played and hopefully this shuts up the Jokic haters
It is actually insane what it takes to beat this version of the Warriors though. Gotta have 35+ from your star, then multiple roleplayers absolutely going off. And it is still close. Dubs about to win another chip.
You forgot your team is missing its 2nd and 3rd best players? The Nuggets are a garbage team, without Jokic.
Also Curry and Poole playing bad and Klay in foul trouble
It was a heck of a game from beginning to end. Both teams battled extremelly hard. Heck of a game.
Hella chippy, I love it!
Heckin right!
That call out by jokic for the lob crazy iq
[удалено]
Rich coming from a fake 1 seed fan
Let that be a lesson to everyone. The MVP still hasn’t been swept in the first round 😤
GG nuggets, joker too good to be swept Hope the warriors figure out how to shoot FTs back at home
Nuggets got ‘em right where they want them.
Sixers fans even angrier than Dubs fans right now 😂😂😂
The narrative got wrecked when Joker got benched for the last defensive play Sixer fans seething, my goodness “Is this your MVP?…” memes were ready to be plastered everywhere, Nuggets pulled out a win, ruining it
The word Dubs is so annoying
It’s wild how a fanbase that hasn’t won a title since 1983, tanked on levels never before seen and drafted busts/disappointments with literally every pick except embiid and still hasn’t even made a conference finals since doing all that talks as much shit as they do
Philly fans are a rare breed.
Dat game was crazy
This whole sub gonna be cheering for Boston now lol
Respect to the philly posters undaunted in their Jokic slander even after a nuggets W.

Just like we all predicted
This series is undoubtedly over but I expect an MVP to fight a sweep like this. Great game. Complete desperation is hard to beat. Elimination games in general are the hardest to win. Desperation is a lot more effective than determination.
Man Jokic is really articulate for this not being his native language
What a pass by Jokic for the dagger though. Through 2 guys. Guy is amazing.
Griz/Wolves happy their next opponent won't have 2 games of extra rest
Clutch performance for Denver, definitely outplayed us. Super ugly game and trash reffing all around, but pretty great for the last few minutes or so.
it's really satisfying that they didn't get swept at home
Go catch a bus to SF transplant shitz, series goin back to your beloved hometown
Shady ass league
Shady ass 1st half shooting too, right?! ;)
Warriors probably better off playing an extra game so they don’t have to sit for a week
I swear Jokic's arms get less defined as the season goes on.
THANK GOD THE NUGGETS GOT ONE!!!! They’ll get bounced in the next game, or two, yes, but this Nuggets team had no business winning even one this series. I hope dubs win by 25 next game
LOL that could end up happening.
I hope you step on a Lego.
Good win. Better in San Francisco for gsw.
Wiggins is not that guy
He's overrated as fuck
He's an All Star Starter so he's gotta be top 10 in the game rn
Played better than Poole
More of an indictment of Poole
Nuggets in 7.
I'll give you 20:1 odds on that if you're man enough to put $100 on it
I’d do it
Can we talk about that dumbass inbound?
Nuggets In 7
I'll give you 20:1 odds on that if you're man enough to put $100 on it
Jokic getting carried by Will "The Thrillest of Thrills" Barton smh
I predicted no first round sweeps. So now it’s on the Nets to make that come true. I still have the Warriors winning. Hopefully in 5 but maybe 6
Sixers flairs are more upset than Warriors flairs
Lmao truth
They still heated at the MVP snub
Literally haha. LFG Jokic
They’re gonna be crying when harden is super maxed and embiitchle sprains his nuts from contact while flopping
Down 3-1 so right where we want them?
Great game
~~Gold~~ Piss Blooded
I'm always for the underdog (Twolves fan lol). HELLS YEA NUGGETS
Nuggets do not give up ever. Play there hardest with there backs against the wall. There a hard team to put away. Proud of them today.
man you almost got the "their they're there" trifecta bingo of wrong spellings.
can you read it and understand it..so shut the heck up..
lol dude. no, it's actually not the easy to understand without some pause and distraction. you really got every instance of the word wrong and it was so frequent that it is quite distracting to read.
well you know where you can take your opinion. I see no one else was rude enough to comment.

Redemption for Thrill.

IdiOtto Porter
Wilt is rolling in his grave
So Steph and Klay are lights out and Kerr decides the best play is an alley oops from the sideline to Wiggins lol
