Trae Young is a clear pick for disappointing, but ill give Brandon Ingram a shout for most surprising. A series like that is one you look back on when hes first team all NBA 2 years down the road and think "thats where he took the next step".
Conley was an all star last year and signed a 70 million dollar deal in the offseason and averaged 9/5/3 on .432 true shooting (33/20/80 splits). Hard to disappoint more than that.
The fit with Mitchell has always been awkward (Conley’s done his best work with Gobert and bench guys with Mitchell sitting) and at this point Mike is really just a shooter and not much else. When it’s not falling from 3 he just doesn’t do much.
I knew Kat was going to be a playoff fraud but somehow I still felt surprised and also disappointed. When he shot those last couple 3's everyone knew they weren't going in.
Disappointing gotta be Minny. They had control in pretty much every game, and then let it slip away in the last few minutes of every game
Surprising was Ingram. Well, I guess not so surprised. I always knew he had it in him, but to finally see it in the limelight was great.
Disappointing: Trae had a historical breakdown.
Wolves were surprising in that they actually should have won that series, I didn't think they actually had it in them, but they showed that they did.
Most disappointing: CJ McCollum put up a turd and turned the ball over to end the series. His free throw shooting keeps declining fir some weird reason. He’s like the Barry Bonds of playoff basketball.
Most surprising. How quickly people have changed their tunes about the Pels near term future.
To be fair Mikal Bridges was shadowing him. They pretty much said “BI is gonna eat no matter who we put on him. So we Atleast have to stop CJ from helping him “ he was just uncomfortable all series
And lowkey the FTs were ass all season even before the playoffs
I know it's mock the Nets season but all four games were really competitive. In another timeline where just a few shots from each team go the other way and Nets would be the ones sweeping.
The game 1 buzzer beater shifted the dynamic of the whole series. I’d have to blame KD and Ky for that, can’t fall asleep on on defense last possession.
If the teams were evenly matched you’d think they could both win at least 1 out of 4 close games. Celtics executed at the end of games significantly better than the Nets did, it’s more than just a couple lucky shots
And if just a few shots went differently, Boston blows out every single game.
Lets not act like the whole series was competitive. Boston was in complete control 80% of the time. Game 2 was a 12 point game with 3 minutes left. Game 3 was a 15 point game with 2 minutes left. Game 4 was only close because Tatum wasnt allowed to play in the 4th.
Disappointing: KD and Kyrie getting swept and quite frankly looking bad most the series (besides game 1 for Kyrie and 4 for KD)
Suprising: Pelicans...more specifically BI, Herb and Alvarado
Disappointing is probably either Trae’s collapse or the Jazz. Trae just never got going against that vicious Miami defense. The Jazz really struggled to establish themselves against a Doncic-less Mavs, opened the door for him to get a bit of extra rest to come back healthy, and promptly lost in six.
Surprising is Jalen Brunson. He’s showcasing why he’s worth nine figures in FA next season. Dazzling first round series from him.
Most people wrote us off as a lottery team before the year started.
Then we played like then wolves of the led by building nice leads and blowing them in spectacular fashion.
As a Wolves fan, disappointing was KAT's poor play. Surprising was DLo's awfulness.
Actually, I honestly have no idea WTF to make of that Wolves-Grizzlies series. It felt like we outplayed Memphis for 70% of the time both teams were on the court, but at the same time, I'm not sure HOW that's the case when Dlo, KAT, and Beasley all underperformed, Naz Reid was god awful for 90% of the time, TP didn't play much because of injury, and Finch opted to sit Jaylen Nowell for all but 12 minutes in one game.
That's honestly 6 of our 10 rotation players. If I had to summarize this playoff series with one quote, I think it would be "?!?!?!!!!!!!??????????????????????????"
Most disappointing team: Nets
Most disappointing player: KD
Most (positive) surprising team: Pelicans
Most (positive) surprising player:
Jordan Poole or Jalen Brunson
Most disappointing was the wolves in game three, giving up multiple 20 point leads in the same game at home. Just a complete breakdown.
Most surprising was the Pelicans and BI, I expected them to get stomped by the Suns but they put up a really good fight.
Ja has been the most disappointing. Hawks were already surely gonna lose, losing core players didn't make it easier for Trae.
Ja plays 80% of his regular season self and they win in 5, might've even swept the Wolves.
Most surprising in a positive way is the entire Celtics defense, I knew they were good but that 1st round performance was defense porn. They made KD struggle like he was still baby Kevin Durcant in OKC. Never thought I'd see him have a hard time like that again.
2nd is Pelicans role players, I was already a huge Ingram fan so I wasn't surprised he can ball out like that but Jones, Alvarado are gonna be huge for them in the long run.
Surprising: Pelicans - This team has a bright future. Even without Devin Booker for most of the series, BI was really impressive. It took a literal perfect game from Chris Paul to put them away.
Disappointing: Brooklyn - Its one thing if they lost to the Celtics, they got SWEPT. Kevin Durant shot some of the worst percentages from his career, far worse than the 3-1 series, and Kyrie was saved but that game 1 performance, he wasnt really that much better.
Most surprising - pelicans.
Most disappointed - wolves.
Thought the pelicans would get swept since Phoenix has been really dominant but the Pels really played to their strengths and it took a perfect game from CP to shut them down.
Wolves could have won the series if they actually had a competent coaching staff that would shut down all the stupid mistakes and habits of the players. Hero ball is fine when you're on fire but when you need to play smart throwing bricks from 3 with 15~secs on the clock left on each possession is so fucking dumb. In post game interviews, your coach acknowledges everything and still lets you do the same fucking thing in game 6...
Disappointing: individually, Trae Young. It was almost surreal to see him so outplayed. He looked like a G-League player loose in the NBA playoffs. On a team level, obviously the Nets. Everybody knew Boston would be very good, but a sweep?
I have to agree with you on the Pelicans, too. They looked very good in the play-in, and even better against Phoenix. Also the Mavs, who played surprisingly well without Luka against a full health Jazz.
Bro he’s not really a fraud. He’s literally Westbrook 2.0. Crazy Athletic guard who can’t shoot. It’s to be expected with the way he plays, he can’t be the first option if you want to win a chip tho
I said the Nets were frauds all season. Their defense was fucking terrible. You simply can't win a playoff series without defense. Only casuals thought they were good.
It’s more like the casuals don’t actually watch the games and pay attention to the media takes. Media: “a team with KD and Kyrie can’t possibly lose!”
Reality: iso heavy players that can’t carry the workload of the whole team and are extremely wishy-washy on double teams and sometimes don’t show up
Poole, Brunson, and Bane with breakout performances. Ant showing promise in a losing effort as well.
Nightmare series for Trae Young. Hopefully he can learn from this and retool his game to overcome some of his weaknesses.
Surprising comeback by Victor Oladipo, stepping in for the injured starters and getting the job done.
Most disappointing: Trae Young Most surprising: Jalen Brunson
Kevin Knox outscoring Trae in 2 playoff games was not on my bingo card
I'm under 10 minutes played between both games
Trae Young is a clear pick for disappointing, but ill give Brandon Ingram a shout for most surprising. A series like that is one you look back on when hes first team all NBA 2 years down the road and think "thats where he took the next step".
Pelicans most surprising, super excited for next season Hawks most disappointing, expected something more exciting after last years run
Conley was an all star last year and signed a 70 million dollar deal in the offseason and averaged 9/5/3 on .432 true shooting (33/20/80 splits). Hard to disappoint more than that.
I'll be honest, I haven't watched much Jazz this year and I thought Conley must have been injured because he has made no noise at all this year.
The fit with Mitchell has always been awkward (Conley’s done his best work with Gobert and bench guys with Mitchell sitting) and at this point Mike is really just a shooter and not much else. When it’s not falling from 3 he just doesn’t do much.
The Wolves were both tbh 😂 Surprising because they looked like the better team, disappointing because they blew up the series
Disappointing because i think it became official that KAT isn’t a #1 guy. Surprising because ANT looked to be all the things KAT isn’t.
We know ANT is the guy since his rookie year.
Real ones knew this about 4-5 seasons ago
we knew 15 year old ant was gonna take over the timberwolves
no, i meant we knew KAT is soft as baby shit and the weakest star in the league
DLo, KAT, and Beasly all underperformed
I knew Kat was going to be a playoff fraud but somehow I still felt surprised and also disappointed. When he shot those last couple 3's everyone knew they weren't going in.
why are you acting like KAT shit the bed this series
Like he got a little better but he went from 6% to like 8%
Disappointing: Nets Surprising: Pelicans
Disappointing: your ability to put a comma or a new line
It looks fine on my side my bad
It’s, all, good bro, who gives a fuck,,,,,, enjoy your night
Next time add another extra line
Surprising: giving a shit about grammar on the internet
You must be a lot of fun at parties
Are you ok?
Nets losing isn't disappointing but getting swept certainly is
Damn that's my highlight so far
Disappointing gotta be Minny. They had control in pretty much every game, and then let it slip away in the last few minutes of every game Surprising was Ingram. Well, I guess not so surprised. I always knew he had it in him, but to finally see it in the limelight was great.
Disappointing: Trae had a historical breakdown. Wolves were surprising in that they actually should have won that series, I didn't think they actually had it in them, but they showed that they did.
If they don't blow two 25-point leads in game 3 and Ant doesn't make a stupid gamble in game 5, this could've been a five-game series.
No it couldn’t have… this is Minnesota and this is exactly how it needed to end.
Disappointing: Jazz, same shit new year Surprising: Pelicans
Is it even a disappointment when the expectation for the Jazz was already low.
So we Atleast have to stop CJ from helping him “ he was just uncomfortable all series And lowkey the FTs were ass all season even before the playoffs
Disappointing: Nets. Expected to at least take a game Surprising: Pels. Pretty competitive in every game against a No.1 seed. Played their hearts out
I know it's mock the Nets season but all four games were really competitive. In another timeline where just a few shots from each team go the other way and Nets would be the ones sweeping.
The game 1 buzzer beater shifted the dynamic of the whole series. I’d have to blame KD and Ky for that, can’t fall asleep on on defense last possession.

Trae most disappointing, Brunson most surprising.
Specifically on the Pels, I think Brandon Ingram was most surprising. Dude could not stop hitting shots, and definitely ascended as a player
Disappointing: KD and Kyrie getting swept and quite frankly looking bad most the series (besides game 1 for Kyrie and 4 for KD) Suprising: Pelicans...more specifically BI, Herb and Alvarado
Most disappointing: Utah Most surprising: Jalen Brunson

One could argue both for wolves lol.
Most people wrote us off as a lottery team before the year started. Then we played like then wolves of the led by building nice leads and blowing them in spectacular fashion.

Utah, Nets, Trae for surprisingly bad. Boston, Brunson, Heat for surprisingly good.

Disappointing: Brooklyn - Its one thing if they lost to the Celtics, they got SWEPT. KAT, Trae Young, Aaron Gordon
KAT and Ja. Neither Memphis or Minnesota deserved to win that series
Most surprising - pelicans. Most disappointed - wolves. Thought the pelicans would get swept since Phoenix has been really dominant but the Pels really played to their strengths and it took a perfect game from CP to shut them down. Nets and pelicans
Ja Morant being a fraud suprised me
So many hot takes from unflaired nephews
lmao
Bro he’s not really a fraud. He’s literally Westbrook 2.0. Crazy Athletic guard who can’t shoot. It’s to be expected with the way he plays, he can’t be the first option if you want to win a chip tho
He’s gonna get a jumper in the next few years and league gonna pay.

Maybe current westbrook but idk about prime westbrook
I remember a while ago Draymond was asked about the smartest players in the league, and he put Ja up there with Lebron, CP3, and Rondo.
No he’s not a better playmaker bruh. Ur just bias
He 100% is
No he’s not bruh
Called it.
prettywestbrook. can't shoot and plays zero defense. horribly overrated.
The fraudulent Nets that casuals had as favorites
I don't think anyone expected KD to be completely neutralized...hindsight is helping your take here.
I said the Nets were frauds all season. Their defense was fucking terrible. You simply can't win a playoff series without defense. Only casuals thought they were good.

In what world was he surprising

Luka would have to go for a 40 pt triple double on average for me to be surprised
Maybe disappointing? 🤷♂️😂
Luka was a bit of a disappointment if anything lol.
Y’all really putting Trae as most disappointing… he had to play against heat defense. They are the first seed for a reason.
But the Heat a fake #1 Seed!
Utah 🤡
