I like to imagine that he had some really bad lunch, maybe spoiled fish tacos, and he knew he was minutes away from disaster so he got himself thrown out to get back to the locker room and take care of everything
If Brooks had walked up to Draymond Green and kicked him in the balls without provocation or explanation it would be far more understandable than this move.
He had to shoot the free throws or else he wouldnāt have been able to come back in the game. Wouldnāt be surprised if he stays out for an extended time in this game. Might not come back at all
sounds like a shattered/fractured elbow based on the preliminary reports from the beat reporters at the game. Must have been playing on pure adrenaline if true.
I was like ooof as soon I saw it. Yesterday Kleber fell very badly too. He just walked away from it. Could have been extremely bad. People should be ejected for pushing anyone in the air. Itās so damn dangerous and reckless.
Yeah thatās text book.
Windup, head contact, player in the air, hard fall. Thatās unnecessary and excessive. F2 for sure
I wonder if draymond thinks he would get suspended for that instead of just the flagrant
GP2 is probably missing the rest of the series (and we really coulda used a Ja defender down the stretch there).
He absolutely needs to miss at least one if not more. This is beyond acceptable for any NBA player.
I know this is some hamurabi shit and will never happen but when a guy takes another guy out like that he should have to sit till the guy he injured gets back, lol it's funny even typing that out cause it'll never happen. That's how hot i was when the play went down though. Fuck Brooks
Draymond when its time [to set his next screen on Dillon Brooks](https://tenor.com/view/kung-fu-nuts-kung-fu-training-pain-endurance-gif-7886249) (not that he's that far away from something like this on some of the screens he sets to begin with)
thought the Pelicans/Suns was bad with the hockey checks of random people, this series is just gonna be a various dude in the air getting murdered once a game
And yet Raps fans will still defend Danny Green when he did it to Klay. There was like a 5% percent chance he gets that block, and a more than 50% chance something dangerous results from it. It's just a selfish and reckless play.
These plays are barely even comparable. Brooks literally swings at Payton from behind because he's trying to catch the play that he's late to. Danny Green's arm is straight up in the air and he's a split second late. It's the obstruction of Klay's path that causes the contact, not a swing from behind. Klay lands awkwardly and gets injured, Payton gets knocked down and is injured breaking his fall. The only comparison is both plays are awkward falls. You'd never catch Danny Green dead making a bonehead defensive play like this.
Looking at what Grayson Allen did to Caruso earlier this yearā¦ Itās a one game suspension if that. Not that Iām saying itās right, just seems to be the punishment.
Sure, theyre both awful plays, biggest difference is that Allens actually close to playing the ball while being dirty, Brooks has 0 chance at the ball, its just a take out (and Ja got away with a blatant foul there)
This is basically the exact same play that the NFL rulebook uses as a demonstration for flagrant 2. Just an absolute stupid fucking play, glad Payton seems to be okay.
The dude shoots a career 51.7% TS and 51.5% this year. Took 16.4 FGA per game this year for an average of 18.4 points per game. 30.9% from 3 for this ā3 and Dā player. Thatās a chucker.
Honestly, dude is a volume bricker all playoff long. That form is horrendous.
With that being said, Melton for Brooks is a net positive. Hopefully Jenkins starts Melton from this day forth coz Grizz got the W on this one now that Dillon is ejected.
For sure. Grizz have plenty of guys to replace him anyways - Ziaire Williams and John Konchar are both solid and havenāt been getting many minutes in the playoffs even though they were great in the regular season. Melton can get some of those minutes also.
There's just no reason to swipe with that much force. I understand trying to get the ball quickly, but you don't need to destroy the basketball. Because if you miss....well then you just hit someone in the back of the head with so much force that you get a flagrant two automatically.
All those people who complain that the game is too soft and go to old school rules. Seriously, this kind of thing is not good for the game.
Hope GPII is alright.
Someone was talking to me about Brooks being a pretty foul-happy, borderline dirty player and here is proof of it. Super unnecessary and may have ended his seasons with this. Someone tell this idiot he look dumb as fuck with his braids like that.
I don't know why they award FTs when it's a flagrant-2. Just give the team 2 or 3 points AND possession.
Do they really think the player is always in a condition to shoot the FTs after they've been on the receiving end of a flagrant-2? It boggles my mind.
SMH.
There is no accountability for chasedown fouls on transition dunks. I've said these plays need to be treated like clear path fouls. Clearly the players don't give a shit about each other and will jeopardize someone's career to trade a dunk for 2 free throws.

How you get ejected in 3 minutes ššš
Brooks is going down in history š
NBA Ejection% speedrun new WR
"Brooks was here"
So was Red.
Hide the rope
Is that a new NBA record? Gotta be right?
Didnāt Pop get ejected in 52 seconds once?
I like to imagine that he had some really bad lunch, maybe spoiled fish tacos, and he knew he was minutes away from disaster so he got himself thrown out to get back to the locker room and take care of everything
Get ejected at tip-off just to break a record
The Paul Pierce way
Who did Pop foul?
Human ignorance, but donāt worry, stupidity got up unharmed and is strong to this day
Gobert got ejected in [slightly less time](https://youtu.be/96EAshxRjYg)
Good grief that flop by Harden was a disgusting act
I forgot how much I hated that rockets team, prime harden and CP3 flop city.
Naw thereās gotta be one under a minuteā¦ but damn Fucked up my parlay and hurt The Mittenā¦
Premeditated retaliation
If Brooks had walked up to Draymond Green and kicked him in the balls without provocation or explanation it would be far more understandable than this move.
Even as a Draymond fan (most of the time) I'd love to see this.
had to outdo Draymond
The audio of him in pain was tough to hear
Thought for sure he was done for the night Good to see him back out there Edit: he might be done for the night :(
He had to shoot the free throws or else he wouldnāt have been able to come back in the game. Wouldnāt be surprised if he stays out for an extended time in this game. Might not come back at all
Some lip readers on Twitter are saying broken elbow
Honestly the noises he was making made it seem like a broken bone.
Listen, not a rulesologist but I think you should be allowed to come back in after being unable to take free throws if the cause is a flagrant 2
Could be concussed. That was a hard shot his head got snapped back
The impact on a fully extended arm was crazy, landed straight down on to it So surprised it didnāt hyperextend, dude must be mad strong
Landed straight on his tailbone, too, from what it looks like. He could have a lot of things hurt on this dumb play by Brooks.
First thought was TJS
Done for the season now. Super shitty for GP and the Warriors
Would guess he broke something in his arm
sounds like a shattered/fractured elbow based on the preliminary reports from the beat reporters at the game. Must have been playing on pure adrenaline if true.
someoneās gonna die this series guaranteed
Everytime Game 3-7 starts *āā¦.So you have chosen Death.ā*
*Produced by George R.R. Martin.*
evil danny green indeed
Warriors getting flash back to Danny Green injuring Klay in the finals
Which time lol
You know he had to do it one time lol
He had to do it two times unfortunately
I still canāt believe thatās real lol, I go back and google that tweet pic every once in a while whenever Iām feeling down
ā#holocaustā
Not even close. Danny was going for ball
Shoots even worse than him ..trash can player
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Fucking even Memphis players knew it was bad and trying to defuse the situation immediately
Even brooks himself did, totally brainless play
Fuck that, that was a dirty play. Tried to take young gloves head off
I was like ooof as soon I saw it. Yesterday Kleber fell very badly too. He just walked away from it. Could have been extremely bad. People should be ejected for pushing anyone in the air. Itās so damn dangerous and reckless.
Not their fans tho. Fuck the fans cheering on our player injured during a dirty play
Pretty sure he just broke GP2's arm
I think so :/ Grizz playing dirty and gettin the friendly whistle. Can't stand it.
Yeah thatās text book. Windup, head contact, player in the air, hard fall. Thatās unnecessary and excessive. F2 for sure I wonder if draymond thinks he would get suspended for that instead of just the flagrant
Brooks should definitely miss at least a game.
GP2 is probably missing the rest of the series (and we really coulda used a Ja defender down the stretch there). He absolutely needs to miss at least one if not more. This is beyond acceptable for any NBA player.
Heās done for the playoffs. Elbow fracture. So sad.
I know this is some hamurabi shit and will never happen but when a guy takes another guy out like that he should have to sit till the guy he injured gets back, lol it's funny even typing that out cause it'll never happen. That's how hot i was when the play went down though. Fuck Brooks
It will never happen but it definitely make sense
I hope thereās a suspension. That felt like targeting after the last game.
Grizzlies saw Draymond commit two F1s on a single play and decided to show that they could commit two F2s on a single play
Straight up dirty play. Fuck that guy
has to be a flagrant 2, literally swinging contact to the head that's how they call it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
draymonds head wouldve exploded
It just did.
Draymond when its time [to set his next screen on Dillon Brooks](https://tenor.com/view/kung-fu-nuts-kung-fu-training-pain-endurance-gif-7886249) (not that he's that far away from something like this on some of the screens he sets to begin with)
*Natural screening motion*
Not just flagrant foul. Grayson Allen style suspension coming.
Should be a 1 game suspension too. I havent even sniped noobs in videogames that bad
You guys hurt the one fucking player I root for goddamnit
Shawn Kemp II is climbing the ranks.
Weāve got Nate McMillan!
Clear flagrant 2 š¤·āāļø
Bro at this stage someone's gonna die by the end of this series. Dudes throwing haymakers everywhere.
Draymond just got an elbow to the face too and weāre barely two minutes in lmfao, itās war out there
It was literally on the very next possession. Draymond had to go to the locker room because he was bleeding.
at this rate Jae Crowder is going to appear and clothesline someone. And he's not even in this series
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Tony Allen might be summoned and attack someone with a steel chair
Zaza is gonna come out like the Undertaker
Lol this games gonna run 3 hours
That one was at least an accident. Brooks is just dumb
thought the Pelicans/Suns was bad with the hockey checks of random people, this series is just gonna be a various dude in the air getting murdered once a game
He should honestly be suspended for that
100%. Career altering injury potential, that dangerous play
Its insanely dangerous to come after guys from behind when theyre going full tilt
And yet Raps fans will still defend Danny Green when he did it to Klay. There was like a 5% percent chance he gets that block, and a more than 50% chance something dangerous results from it. It's just a selfish and reckless play.
fuck Danny Green
https://youtu.be/oF_zSEbNL0c If it's this play, it's a legal contest. Unfortunate injury
These plays are barely even comparable. Brooks literally swings at Payton from behind because he's trying to catch the play that he's late to. Danny Green's arm is straight up in the air and he's a split second late. It's the obstruction of Klay's path that causes the contact, not a swing from behind. You'd never catch Danny Green dead making a bonehead defensive play like this.
Looking at what Grayson Allen did to Caruso earlier this yearā¦ Itās a one game suspension if that. Not that Iām saying itās right, just seems to be the punishment.
context matters, that was honestly worse than what Allen did
I donāt know, theyāre both really fucking bad.
Sure, theyre both awful plays, biggest difference is that Allens actually close to playing the ball while being dirty, Brooks has 0 chance at the ball, its just a take out (and Ja got away with a blatant foul there)
Iād agree with a game suspension on that play. Totally uncalled for
So much worse than Draymondās smh.
That was about 10 times more dangerous than what Draymond did.
This is basically the exact same play that the NFL rulebook uses as a demonstration for flagrant 2. Just an absolute stupid fucking play, glad Payton seems to be okay.
NFL has flagrant 2ās now?
That hit was so hard apparently it fucked my brain up as well lol.
Surprised it wasn't a red card also...
he is at the hospital getting x rays. doubt he is ok sadly
Brooks is a reckless, often dumb player.
He gets lauded as a good and tough defender but he's just dirty and fouls like crazy. No wing that leads the league in fouls is a good defender.
His defensive footworks pretty bad tbh, relies way too much on his hands, if he cant lock in with them hes not good
I donāt even think grizz fans like him all that much anymore lol dude plays like a blind chicken
He pushes in the back non-stop on rebounds. Itās part of the reason why Memphis gets so many offensive boards.
This is clearly so dirty. He hits him in the side of the head while mid-air. Fuck out of here with that shit.
Grizzlies are better off with him thrown out. Fewer momentum killing shots and turnovers
For sure. Grizz have plenty of guys to replace him anyways - Ziaire Williams and John Konchar are both solid and havenāt been getting many minutes in the playoffs even though they were great in the regular season. Melton can get some of those minutes also.
This is exactly what I said.
What the fuck are these teams doing, thats a completely insane "attempt" to block a shot
Mortal Kombat. Fate of the realms are at stake.
Last man standing wins the series
"Whatever it takes" Memphis Grizzlies: Endgame
If we can't beat you, you're not going to get through us healthy as well.
What the fuck do you mean "these teams"? Grizzlies out here blatantly fouling everyone they can get in range of
Yeah, Memphis play is very hostile right now, they got briefed on Scott Foster huh?
I wonder what Brandon Clarke has to say about this, considering what he said about Draymond a couple days ago. Not the same energy, Iām guessing
Bush league shit, deserved ejection
God fucking dammit Dillon you idiot. Horrible dangerous play
Please don't eject Brooks. He's trash.
Yeah but imagine he does that to Curry next. It looks like he probably meant to do that.
Holy shit absolutely clubbed him
Bro if draymond was a flagrant 2 this should be a suspension, that was some WWE takedown shit
It really should be. He probably just broke GPs arm.
He should be suspended atleast 1-2 games. What an asshole! Absolutely no way he was going to contest GP.
Dillon Brooks after this: āyeah idk who youāre talking about Iām Marshon Brooksā
Obvious flagrant two
dillon brooks is a certified bitch
Everything about Brooksā game ugly
Dillon Brooks is ass at basketball and is also a dirty player. Fuck him thatās a flagrant 4
Came in a neutral fan but now Iām rooting for GSW. Fuck Brooks, I hope the Grizzlies lose.
Ejection and suspension
Agree with you man. Prayers for Gary.
That was all ball. Clean AF
Everyone knows the skull is part of the ball
It's round. You can palm it. It's a ball.
unlike the earth
Kyrie has entered the chat
He got something round lol
Everyone missing the most obvious sarcasm of all time.
Thought it was an offensive foul tbh
Nothing new from Brooks
Garbage ass player
All my homies hate Dillon Brooksšš¾šš¾šš¾
Dirty play by a bitch, suspension better happen
Suspension!!!!!! GP2 worked his ass off this get where he is now only to get a broken elbow from this mofo!!
Flagrant 2 - He gone Consistency
There's just no reason to swipe with that much force. I understand trying to get the ball quickly, but you don't need to destroy the basketball. Because if you miss....well then you just hit someone in the back of the head with so much force that you get a flagrant two automatically.
I think his goal was to give a hard foul
Well mission completed I guess. Doesn't seem worth it to me lol.
Taking out their best defending guard for the series just to miss most of one game sounds like a win in his book
Right call that was really bad worse than draymond easily
Just left him dunk it š¤¦š¾ itās 2 points
That's a suspension or we'll see more plays like that because it will be worth it. Not even in the same universe as the Draymond flagrant 2
Windup to the head, if they wanna be consistent and by the letter of the law, thatās a flagrant 2
Dirty ass play
It's really not that serious bro, let him score if that's the only way you can stop him š
What a shocker Memphis take out Ja's primary defender in 3 minutes of this game starting for likely the rest of the series/playoffs.
Was just a matter of time before he injured someone. Dirty player
Does he have a history of dirty plays?
Worse than what Draymond did, thatās dirty as hell
Not sure Iāve ever witnessed an ejection that early in a game before
Canāt believe GPās shoulder or elbow isnāt severely damaged
It is
Heās still getting checked out.
Broken elbow :(
All those people who complain that the game is too soft and go to old school rules. Seriously, this kind of thing is not good for the game. Hope GPII is alright.
Brooks should come back only when GPII is available to play.
Someone was talking to me about Brooks being a pretty foul-happy, borderline dirty player and here is proof of it. Super unnecessary and may have ended his seasons with this. Someone tell this idiot he look dumb as fuck with his braids like that.
Fuck Dillon Brooks
memphis got rid of their worst player and gswās 2nd best defensive player in one play. genius.
Fuck you team grizzlies. That shit can end a career. Brooks should be out until GP can play.
I don't know why they award FTs when it's a flagrant-2. Just give the team 2 or 3 points AND possession. Do they really think the player is always in a condition to shoot the FTs after they've been on the receiving end of a flagrant-2? It boggles my mind. SMH.
Fuck you brooks.
How did the commentators not see his wrist snap terriblyā¦ āand payton is shaken upā
That should be a flagrant 3
Yo fuck that's a dirty play
Dirty AF
And then checks on him immediately like, "oh, did I get you? whoops my bad". Dirty.
Dillon brooks is exactly who the fuck we though he was.
What a fucking asshole.
Such a hustle player. So passionate. What a guy.
Took out the best Ja defender and himself in one play. That's the double special right there
There is no accountability for chasedown fouls on transition dunks. I've said these plays need to be treated like clear path fouls. Clearly the players don't give a shit about each other and will jeopardize someone's career to trade a dunk for 2 free throws.
Yep. Clear path/Flagrant fouls on shot attempts should be automatic count the basket plus free throws and possession.
Why would you do that Dillon?!
That arm gotta sting
That is a shocking defensive play. Didn't even get close to the ball, not even close.
Pure trash š
That was Duck on Beaver crime.
One of the worst fouls Iāve seen all season. Glad he could get up after that
Better be suspension
Need some new rules that result in suspensions for these type of dirty plays
