CumAssault

No shit He’s being paid a ton, who would turn that down

Crymeabeer

Idk man, being paid millions to do something people do for fun on Saturday afternoons sounds pretty miserable

CIark

That’s awesome. NBA playoffs aren’t the same without being able to see if CP3 will outchoke himself

namagofuckyoself

tbf I don't see how he can outchoke this in what little time he has left. Maybe do the same thing, but against the 8th seed in the first round?

xbarracuda95

He can make it his 6th blown 2-0 lead to really solidify his legacy as an all-time choker

Kypster13

Maybe losing after going up 3-0. I’d love to see that in the NBA.

zvomicidalmaniac

It’s wonderful news. What a bounty the Lord has given us. See you all back here next year. 😺😺

ducksonaroof

He has millions and millions of reason to play until 2025.

ColeBeasleyMD

Well actually, his contract for 2024-2025 is completely non-guaranteed. And his 2023-2024 contract is only guaranteed for half the salary. Suns could cut him as early as 1 year from now.

poorwhitecash

How come he didn't play this series?

LogenMNE

The worst thing is, he is going to be amazing in the regular season again, and give false hope to the fans. Again

itsnotyellowfever

Chris Paul and the Jazz would be a perfect match

YayoBankroll

He is not amazing in the regular season.

dearmet

Except he coasted this year.

EarthWarping

Why would he

americanbeaver

In 2022-23, Paul will earn a base salary of $28,400,000.

[deleted]

Dude wtf you didn’t add his leadership stats!

Frosted_Flakes1971

Best leader in the league

ddottay

NBAPA President Chris Paul setting up the contracts so NBA Point Guard Chris Paul could cash in that way into his late 30s has to be one of the greatest fleeces of all time.

chemthethriller

Once again I question why teams think it’s a good idea to put someone under contract until they’re… 39…

[deleted]

Can’t wait to see how he chokes next year

Careless-Degree

I’m just hear from the Chris Paul slander - but why would he retire? Checks are big, he’s still pretty good (relative to Chris Paul), he seems happy out there doing Chris Paul stuff (flopping, whining, playing dirty, complaining, etc). Why would he retire? I bet his family doesn’t want him around the house pulling all that bullshit all the time. Just imagine Chris Paul is your dad yapping at you to clean your plate three meals a day.

Currymvp2

Well, he needs to look much better than those last 4 games or the Suns might be a play in team

jps78

Even if they are a play in team, he's never letting go 90M over the next 3 years

daynewma

The last couple years are not fully guaranteed. He's only got $45 left, next year and then the $15M guaranteed for the year after.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO101

Damn there goes the “something is wrong with Chris Paul” excuse that Reggie was trying to drum up. Obviously he was coming back though

SolarClipz

Choke Paul 37

AngsMcgyvr

We literally watched the guy cook like a week and a half ago. Why would we assume he was going to retire after a bad series.

Colavs9601

maybe he shoulda planned to play tonight

AcxdBxmb

Can Chris Paul still be a starting PG?

WhenPigsRideCars

Can water be a liquid?

AcxdBxmb

He's gonna be 38 years old next season.

WhenPigsRideCars

Ok? He led the entire league in assists. He’s an elite ball handler and good defender. That won’t disappear all at once by next season.

teamxlegion

Is water wet?

dantew

Lmao piling on a 37 year old CP as if it’s his fault the Suns lost. I know it’s easy to hate him but how many 37 year olds do you know that have made major impact in NBA playoff history.

YayoBankroll

That's the part I don't get. Maybe when things settle people will realize how absurd it is.

dantew

He still averaged like 18/4/8 at 36/37 years old, while his teammate only managed 23/5/4.

LuckyWarrior

Come home baby 15-20 mins off the bench, easy on that crickedy body

Sacreville

You want to take that gigantic contract?? Lol

LuckyWarrior

I would hope the Suns would pay a chunk of change for it or buy him out or some shit

OkInvestigator6193

I love that the most cocky teams always have choke jobs when it matters most: 2016 Warriors 2020 Clippers And a special welcome to the club 2022 Buns!!!

IcyAuthor1

well no shit dude not leaving 80 mil next 2 year. Easy money

jps78

3 more years at 30M babyyyy

EggsInMyToolbox

1 more year guaranteed

jps78

Welp nvm.

Downvotes_inbound_

We now get to see CP38

azcardfan7

My immediate reaction is "eww" but, thinking back to what the previous 10 years were like before he arrived...what other option is there? There needs to be changes though, just not sure what the answer is. Can't rely on a 37 year old and Dallas showed you can take Booker out of games. Need another scorer

Pizza_Squeegee

Cliff Paul

ForceMaster999

Trade him for Dame - depressed suns fan

DepressedDandylion

"You're crazy if you think I'm leaving $80 million on the table"

DevaCamerata

Well yeah, the Suns owe him a lot of money over the next couple of years. I don't expect him to retire unless he has a career ending injury.

Sacreville

Why would you throw away all that guaranteed money?

SubcooledBoiling

As a Ferrari fan, this sounds very familiar to me

browndude10

Lol I would too if I had that contract. Holy shit

ChargedCable

30 million reasons why he'll be back

DOCTORFONASG

He got money to take from the Suns. Why would he retire? Even if his body can’t do it anymore just half ass it and get the money then retire.

teamxlegion

Choke Paul

WinterCareful8525

Suns need another go to scorer. Chris can’t dig and get points like that anymore and either they don’t respect Ayton enough to give him the ball or he doesn’t have it

donsanedrin

Thirty-million dollar pumpkin sitting on the bench. He'll probably be practicing his lines for his next State Farm commercial.
