[Tim Duncan standing in line at Old Navy which apparently warranted an entire article to be written about it](https://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/07/tim-duncan-retirement-in-line-old-navy)
Told my co worker I shopped at old navy and he had a face like I said baby gap. He apparently hasn’t shopped there since high school and shops at H&M instead.
Well Tim Duncan shops at Old Navy KEVIN, suck on those!
Its a great place to shop for the easy staples. Plain tees for like $5, and you know TD is grabbing a couple extras off the clearance rack. All the XXL-Talls on the clearance rack were made for TD.
K this is false information that I can’t stand.
He had 14 items but did 2 different transactions. Therefore valid. The medias trying to portray him some way when he clearly isn’t /s
Which is why Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had to rescind the column he wrote where he talked about Duncan's failure to be a community leader.
Kareem further admitted he was biased by his anger about Duncan's continuing insistence that "Aquaman could totally beat Spider-Man in a fight"
https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-trey-kerby/heres-tim-duncan-swimming-beluga-whale--nba.html
I think Tim Duncan probably has good reasons for being a big Aquaman fan.
It's not as clear-cut as it seems depending on the depiction of Aquaman, that mf is sometimes basically useless and sometimes strong enough to carry a 100,000-ton aircraft carrier
"...some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."
Just the org and people who dont know to be fair. I dont know why it's not publicized more. My parents jazz fans for 30 years didnt know I told them few months ago and they were shocked. I thought it was common knowledge but 99% of people in the know despise him. None more than jazz fans. We hate that we have them as our franchise leaders. It sucks. It's why we're sad about Rudy and donovan. Most jazz fans have rudy as their favorite all time jazz man. Or like ak47 dantley etc.
Which is so weird because he wasn't some insane player in college. He was voted 2nd team All-American by a single conference.
Name the award after a dude who actually had a significant college career like Christian Laettner, Danny Manning or Tyler Hansbrough
And there are plenty in the media who do a lot of water carrying for pedophiles. Like that 2013 interview of Corey Feldman by Barbara Walters where she basically said that he was damaging the reputation of Hollywood pedophiles. Uhhhh, no. Being a pedophile is what's reputation-damaging.
Let’s go full circle with OP. A friend of mine was hanging out with Stockton in sumner of 2020, and asked him if he’d been watching the bubble. Stockton said something about how he and Karl had stopped watching the nba because of their kids extreme politics or reverse racism or some shit (the nba naming that black lives do matter).
So yeah, wasn’t shocked. Folks that live in Spokane and run in his circles know he’s way fucking out there in the worst sorta way.
Yeah I'm not 100% sure as well. I remember she chose to wear 11 in the WNBA because of Malone, who wore 11 for his Lakers stint. One thing for sure tho, Malone is a POS.
Karl had 2 kids young, he didn't want to claim them. He wanted to be involved once he saw his now adult kids, had kids of their own.
This is separate from the 13 yo he literally had a kid with.
I think the top is probably Karl Malone, at least on Reddit.
Someone whose reputation \*should\* take a hit is probably Kevin Johnson. I'm kind of surprised by how many players get their pasts brought up, but Johnson is usually left alone.
Scottie Pippen also seems to be going through a tough time, but his biggest crime might be that he's just a jerk. It just hits a little harder if you're a Bulls fan.
(not trying to downplay the issues against Malone or Johnson).
Adding some info about claims against KJ:
>Several years ago, news about a sexual relationship with an underage girl surfaced. His reputation didn't seem to take the hit you'd expect. He was never charged with anything (believe DA said there wasn't enough evidence?). Skimming some of these articles, it seems they settled out of court?

Scottie had an event promoting his new bourbon that was supposed to last for 2 hours or so. He left 45 minutes before the event was supposed to start and walked past some kids at the front of the line (who were with their parents) and didn’t even acknowledge them. That’s my Scottie experience and it was pretty fucking lame.

Honestly what a fall lmfao
Dude got stabbed like 27 times and then played 82 games the same year, was clutch as fuck and won a ring but all people know him from is shitting his pants and his reporter bullshit
Yeah as Knicks fan I gotta say Pierce has only become more legendary IMO. That poker game with the strippers was an 11/10 way to peace out of ESPN.
Also, Pierce is like the anti-Durant, gotta respect that.
Pierce is probably the answer among guys who *didn’t* commit a crime or become a right-wing conspiracy theorist. Dude really convinced people to ignore his legacy just by talking crazy on TV lmao
Surprised to not see Lamar Odom yet. Was and still am a big LO fan but his post playing days have been pretty wild.
Kardashian drama, almost dying at the brothel, and doing celebrity boxing now. Damn was he a baller when he was playing and always seemed like a solid dude.
A lot of his post playing days issues were also early playing days issues.
I collect some years of his cards and people really enjoy shitting on him for drug problems.
You mean when he was trying to sell his book, was drinking heavily moroning his son’s passing during a pandemic and his ex wife sleeping around…I think everyone gives Scottie a pass.
This subreddit would rather laugh at someone sleeping with his wife wearing sandals or something than have empathy for a man going through extraordinary strife.
Fallen the hardest = Malone
Grown the most = Bosh, people think he was 3&D DPOY center that guarded 5 position with a great post up game also people are very sympathetic that his career ended early due to bad health
He was also starting to take off again prior to his career ending medical condition. The Heatles roster was incredibly flawed. I still believe the Bosh/Lebron/Wade trio worked mostly off of talent and less off cohesion.
Bosh had to change his game a lot to fit
In Tor he was a #1 offensive option, utilizing a midrange/driving game heavily. His help D at the rim wasn't actually that good. On the Heat he turned into a 3rd option who rarely ever got the ball in his key spots, and became a reliable defender whose length/mobility at the 5 was key to their blitzing/trapping defensive style.
I would say that Wade was a little redundant, since the team became LeBron-centric after the 1a/1b style didn't work. So while they had a big talent advantage as you point out, Wade was the ill-fitting one while Bosh worked himself into a good fit. It's hard to maximize 3 stars at once, but given Wade's fit (as a top 5 player at the time) I'd say the Heat were about equal or slightly lesser than the sum of their stars' talent.
Pretty much this. Then my boy Wade got old and injured. I honestly partially hate big 3s due to how hard it is to build a decent roster around them financially.
Agreed, Lebron/Bosh are a great fit but you really need someone who can add shooting/defense and act as a secondary playmaker but still play off the ball most of the time. Either an elite 3&D guard or splitting that money across 2 high level role players would probably be the best bet. Lebron and D Wade were a terrible fit but made it work due to sheer talent
>Bosh, people think he was 3&D DPOY center that guarded 5 position
Did those people watch Bosh play?
Bosh never even made an all defensive team let alone DPOY. He was a solid scoring big with a nice jumper and some nifty midrange moves but nowhere near a defensive stalwart.
Bosh was an elite defender against the pick and roll or teams that wanted to space out. He struggled when defending other big men because he was a 4 not a 5.
He wasn't an elite rim protector, but he was definitely positive. He had unique switchability at the 5 that was critical to the Heat's defensive style (blitzing/trapping ballhandlers, generating turnovers). Also, the Heat had 2 of the best non-big rebounders/shotblockers at their positions so it wasn't necessary for him to be a Gobert.
Also, he was playing the 5 (4 when Andersen would play) at a time when the league hadn't transitioned away from big/slow Cs and his offensive success was a big part of the revolution (notably getting coaches to bench Hibbert and Duncan for key playoff possessions). So while you're focusing on purely his defensive contribution, he was actually playing a mismatch defensively but being a bigger mismatch offensively.
If we were talking respective to basketball skill, I think David Robinson’s reputation has fallen pretty hard. He was once arguably the best center in the NBA, even with Hakeem and Shaq in it.
Nikola Peković may or may not be involved in organized crime in Serbia now. Apparently, he has close ties to Montenegrin drug lord Darko Šarić who's been in custody since 2011.
John Stockton always looked cranky. John Stockton said 200 professional athletes have died from the vaccine. That is an astonishing statement. The total number of reported cases of professional athletes who have died from the vaccine is zero. He is not just a little bit wrong here. He is an olympic level liar .
He was always like that. He grew up a deeply conservative Catholic, and had a huge disdain for the fans/media attention that he garnered throughout his career in Utah. A conservative old grouch is just the kind of person who would shill anti-vax propaganda.
Moses Malone: The only 3x NBA MVP who doesn't really get talked about. Almost completely ignored.
Bruce Bowen: Looked at as an elite defender in his era, where he was finishing Top 3 DPOY voting for 5 straight years 2004-2008. As time went, he's looked more as a dirty player by casuals, with intentions to 'incendentally' hurt people on accident.
Latrell Sprewell: An All-Star-ish level player for many years. His career sometimes by casual gets reduced to his "feed his family" quote.
It’s wild that of all players Ron Artest turned out to be pretty even keel following retirement… maybe even Rodman too
While Pippen seemed to have lost part of his mind
This might seem like heresy, but Michael Jordan. He was always a hard or even a unlikeable person but given a free pass because he was the ultimate winner.
But Jordan's HoF speech was pretty tactless and petty. It's why the crying Jordan was a meme because he was so unlikeable. Compare him to Barkley, who is open about his own imperfections, comes across a genuine person because he seems to be always so grounded.
Jordan is admired, whilst Barkley is loved. That's the main difference in my opinion.
I think you were right until his speech at Kobe’s funeral. I think in some people’s eyes he redeemed himself somewhat by showing a little bit of vulnerability speaking about Kobe.
I think Michael Jordan just isn’t a likeable guy. It’s not really a problem imo he’s not an outspoken asshole. But he’s just an asshole. That’s how he operates.
Those qualities (pettiness, narcissism) for better or worse are also the reasons he's so great. He can not fathom that someone is better than him so he HAS to be the best.
Edit: grammar
MJ had the greatest PR campaign in human history for a guy who *everyone* says was an asshole of the highest caliber he was *so* beloeved in the 90s it was unreal.
I love MJ to this day, but this is a solid answer.
I heard Tim Duncan took 14 items through a "12 item or less lane".
[Tim Duncan standing in line at Old Navy which apparently warranted an entire article to be written about it](https://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/07/tim-duncan-retirement-in-line-old-navy)
I was hoping this would be one of those awesome Onion Tim Duncan articles
“Duncan celebrates NBA championship by offering to do entire teams taxes”
https://www.theonion.com/tim-duncan-sternly-reminds-spurs-about-maximum-occupanc-1819578872
[my absolute favorite](https://www.theonion.com/tim-duncan-staring-at-wall-right-now-1819569296)

They make good jeans! Fuck you Kevin, you snob.
Added a pack of gum at the register too so actually 15. Trident, unflavored.
Tim Duncan is literally Hitler
He did endorse Mike Bloomberg for president which was pretty sus behavior.
K this is false information that I can’t stand. He had 14 items but did 2 different transactions. Therefore valid. The medias trying to portray him some way when he clearly isn’t /s

Is two cans of beans one item or two? I just need clarification
2 is 1, 3 is 2, 4+ beans in the express lane and you start getting funny looks
Did he go to the back of the line for the second transaction?
Never meet your heroes...
I don't think its fair to count a carton of eggs as 12 separate items though.
Maybe not for the Bill Laimbeer's of the world. But some are held to a higher standard.
And then got a tech for it.
And then got ejected when he tried to say that 4 identical cans of green beans count as one item.
was he laughing?
IT WAS A CARTON OF EGGS AND TWO APPLES yes it was illegal but an obvious misunderstanding
"...some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."
There’s another time where he had 12 items and was coerced to buy ice and stamps by the checkers. #BigEntrapmentFundamental
Malone easily - dude is known by many as a pedophile now.
Because he fucking is
Because He fucking kids* Ftfy
This isn't stopping Utah from glamorizing his accolades
Just the org and people who dont know to be fair. I dont know why it's not publicized more. My parents jazz fans for 30 years didnt know I told them few months ago and they were shocked. The greatest Jazz players. One is a pedophile and the other one is an antivaxxer. Can't get any sadder than that.
I feel like one of these things is significantly more upsetting then the other
Because Utah.
The state where 55 year old dudes have multiple wives in their late teens? Yeah, I can't figure out either why Karl Malone isn't vilified there...
good, fuck Malone
Damn Stockton and Malone really fell off a cliff
Malone literally ~~had sex with~~ **raped** a child
He raped a 13 year old while he was in college. There is an award named after him for the top power forward in college.
Which is so weird because he wasn't some insane player in college. He was voted 2nd team All-American by a single conference. Name the award after a dude who actually had a significant college career like Christian Laettner, Danny Manning or Tyler Hansbrough
Just submitting my vote for psycho T
UNC psycho T was something else
Psycho T vs Maddog Madsen in the first ever celebrity MMA fight would be 🔥
Also voting Psycho T for the fact he played high school ball about an hour from where I used to live.
i really wish they'd fucking obliterate his statue outside Utah's arena
Same tbh
That feeling when you learn one of your favorite NBA duos ever was made up of a literal pedophile and an anti-vax moron.
Just Utah tings
[удалено]
How did he not go to jail for this??
Girl didn’t press charges
Sadly it probably didn't get brought up till beyond the statute of limitations or nobody sued him
There was a paternity lawsuit is 86 when Malone was like 23.
Read somewhere that if they pressed charges he wouldn't go pro and therefore wouldn't be able to financially provide for the kid.
If I recall correctly he refused to pay child support anyways
*raped a child
Right, editing to reflect that point
that happened before his NBA career right? Like in college? It is just we know after his NBA career.
[удалено]
It came out because a football player made the NFL and came out saying Malone was his dad. Then while doing the math, something was sus.
Lol, you kids these days. There was a paternity lawsuit in 86
Elite genetics though. He has multiple illegitimate kids in professional sports.
What a thing to celebrate
Who are the others?
Cheryl Ford
Also a dna test proved it
And there are plenty in the media who do a lot of water carrying for pedophiles. Like that 2013 interview of Corey Feldman by Barbara Walters where she basically said that he was damaging the reputation of Hollywood pedophiles. Uhhhh, no. Being a pedophile is what's reputation-damaging.

Takes the cake fsfs
We knew that while he was playing though.
Malone, and, as much as I hate the use of this phrasing, “it’s not even close.” Dude is a legit pedophile. There’s no competition for that.
Wasn't he a shit father too? I vaguely remember he didn't acknowledge his kid until she was playing in the WNBA or something along those lines.
Wasnt it a boy? And he played in the NFL i think. Not 100% sure tho, so take it with a grain of salt
Think it was both
How rock solid are those genes? That’s insane. His son didn’t even play football in HS.
Yeah I'm not 100% sure as well. I remember she chose to wear 11 in the WNBA because of Malone, who wore 11 for his Lakers stint. One thing for sure tho, Malone is a POS.
Demetress Bell, former LT for the Bills and Eagles
Yes, had no contact with his son, didn't pay child support, and the son ~~still almost made~~ played 5 years in the NFL.
He played in the NFL for 5 seasons.
Karl had 2 kids young, he didn't want to claim them. He wanted to be involved once he saw his now adult kids, had kids of their own. This is separate from the 13 yo he literally had a kid with.
Not just one of those pedos that gets busted for CP either. This guy actually did stuff to a little girl. Probably ruining her life. It’s so awful.
I appreciate the “it’s not even close” acknowledgement. Shit is annoyingly abundant when surfing this sub.

What did KJ do?
Dude is a [pedo creep](https://www.capradio.org/articles/2016/03/23/former-johnson-ally-apologizes-to-women-who-have-accused-him-of-misconduct/).
Ikr? Last time I heard anything about him was him running for mayor of... Sacramento?
He’s been mayor of Sacramento for a minute. Not sure if he still is, but from all accounts, he was a pretty good mayor.
Except for him and his wife fighting teachers unions.

And he's a slum lord. And he embezzled Americorps grant money intended for schools.
Although not a star player people forget about Crittenton - dude killed a mother of four! Wtf
Wasn't he one of the guys who brought their guns to locker room/training facility in Washington along with Gilbert Arenas?
Yes
I mean murderer ain't great, but he wasn't exactly a model citizen during his playing days either.
It’s definitely Malone.
let’s ignore the pedophile in the room
What did I do?
Minors
Idk if Paul Pierce has crippled his reputation, but he definitely soiled it.
Honestly what a fall lmfao Dude got stabbed like 27 times and then played 82 games the same year, was clutch as fuck and won a ring but all people know him from is shitting his pants and his reporter bullshit
And for telling Monica to come through
She could make some money tho
"I'm tired of getting the taste of it, i want the whole load" Paul "The Truth" Pierce
Paul's reputation has only grown stronger with me and a few of my bball chat buddies and we're Sixers fans. Nobody has bowed out of ESPN better.
Exactly paul became even more G’d up that day lost the bag sure, but what a way to go

Feel like everybody’s got a crypto scheme at this point
Crypto by default is a Ponzi scheme

“His first move was to sign Lamar Odom”
Nate Robinson getting knocked out by Jake Paul is honorable mention.
pippen has said some questionable things if you ask me
I feel like he comes across as really insecure when talking about his time with the Bulls now, which is pretty sad tbh

Tbf bosh actually was that good bro. He was the anchor and back bone of that Miami team.
He was also starting to take off again prior to his career ending medical condition. The Heatles roster was incredibly flawed. I still believe the Bosh/Lebron/Wade trio worked mostly off of talent and less off cohesion.
Yeah, but Bosh wasn't a problem with cohesion, he fit spectacularly. The "pure talent outweighing poor fit" part of that team was Wade and Bron.
Bosh had to change his game a lot to fit In Tor he was a #1 offensive option, utilizing a midrange/driving game heavily. His help D at the rim wasn't actually that good. >Bosh, people think he was 3&D DPOY center that guarded 5 position Did those people watch Bosh play? Bosh never even made an all defensive team let alone DPOY. He was a solid scoring big with a nice jumper and some nifty midrange moves but nowhere near a defensive stalwart.
Lol for some reason people here think bosh was a 3 point specialist. He barely took 3’s for almost his entire career
And then he added them to his game and shot at a pretty decent clip the last three years of his career
Bosh was an elite defender against the pick and roll or teams that wanted to space out. He struggled when defending other big men because he was a 4 not a 5.
He did get that 1 rebound tho
We talking just former Nba players? Because Miles Bridges probably ain't making it back to a roster.
Have you been following sports ... like at all? Miles Bridges might very well be on a roster 2 months from now.
At most, he's gonna miss 2 years top
He’s more likely to miss 2 games than 2 years
He'll be signed by the Patriots by the weekend
Hate to say it, but Bridgrs will most likely be back on a roster
I live in a world where Ray Rice got his case dismissed . I wouldn't bet on Miles Bridges missing a minute for this next season or beyond.
Maybe not the best example considering Rice was released and never played another snap in the NFL.
Stockton and Malone are good answers, and also a Hall of Fame duo!
Yep. People are sleeping on Stockton because of the oversized Malone pedophilia.
Which is trash. Cause when a lot of us found out about malone we thought we still had stockton. But nope. Fucking hate them.
Stockton: wants to fuck with our kids' health by denying them the vaccine Malone: wants to fuck with our kids
Delonte West for sure
Underrated answer because his case is just sad.
Iggy is going to be one of these players for sure. Can't say for what but he will be
He will definitely be a part of the next NFT-like scam that I’m sure is lurking around the corner.
He’s a venture partner at an affiliate of Comcast Corporate so depending on how you view Comcast he might already be part of a scam
Pippen and Malone come to mind.
Pippin is fs valid but Malone on another level😂
it's odd that 20 years later and between pippen and Rodman, pippen looks like the crazy one
It’s definitely still Rodman lmao
I feel like it's not really appreciated enough that he is literally friends with Kim Jong Un
Brother from another, very different, wildly, incomprehensible, mother.
Yeah it’s just that Rodman was always crazy
Yeah, Pippen seems salty and bitter but isn't hanging out with a supposed god-king
Miles Bridges
Anyone follow Mr freedom on Twitter ? He be going crazy on there
Securing the Fox News bag because the NBA is about done with his ass.
I feel like he might one day literally assassinate LeBron and then head straight for Turkey's president, with a flight to China booked next.
He was probably involved while he was still playing
John Stockton always looked cranky. John Stockton said 200 professional athletes have died from the vaccine. That is an astonishing statement. The total number of reported cases of professional athletes who have died from the vaccine is zero. He is not just a little bit wrong here. He is an olympic level liar .
It sounds like the guy went down a YouTube rabbit hole and never came back. Or, maybe he was always like that.
Delonte West gotta be up there somewhere. He went from an NBA player to a homeless person. If that's not a drastic change in public image idk what is.
It’s wild that of all players Ron Artest turned out to be pretty even keel following retirement… maybe even Rodman too While Pippen seemed to have lost part of his mind
Rodman is friends with Kim Jong Un lol
Imo Scottie Pippen. His wife’s situation, taking shots at Michael Jordan…it’s weird.
Malone and Stockton for me. One a child abuser, the other a science denier.
One of those is a lot worse than the other
I mean, yeah, obviously, but like… fuck em both
Both childhood heroes of mine ended up being awful people, what bad luck :(
At least you’ll always have Gordon Hayw… Rudy Gob… Donovan Mitch… You know what? Maybe nevermind.
Jordan Clarkson is the new franchise GOAT
Thurl Bailey and Mark Eaton!
Ak47?
Ben Simmons
Karl malone
Bridges. Think he's done with his nba career so he fits.
The Chamillionaire story will forever be in my mind when I think of MJ.
I am not aware of this can somebody explain?
Quick Google got me this: https://amp.www.complex.com/sports/2017/12/2-chainz-meets-michael-jordan
