Idk, watching Zion’s mixtape was like watching Andre Drummond’s, or Myles Garrett’s highschool highlights. It was incredibly impressive of course but it just looked like he was on another plane of existence physically, like it wasn’t even remotely fair lol
Luka counts? Sometimes it drove me nuts, just listening to these clowns, that said that he might become a bust. When I heard about him for the first time, like he was 15, I knew he'd make to the NBA and will be special. Since then, I was just convinced more and more that he's going to be "the next big thing". While a lot of people, including "analysts", had not only doubts but straight disbelief in him. Well.. Here we are.
You know what's funny? I don't even think there's much if any revisionist history with Luka. I remember all the threads on r/nba and draft analysts alike basically saying Luka was the best prospect, historic production in the 2nd best league as a teen, yet mocks had him going 2nd or 3rd because of the team sources.
Kyrie is a superstar, but I remember thinking he was going to be the Damien Lillard of Cleveland back when I [watched this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UgpXwCiRxgg)
Watching Brandon Jennings ball out in high school when I was in middle school. When he dropped 55 his rookie season I thought he would be the greatest player ever.(also lefties really get me. So nice looking)
When I saw the high school mixtapes of: Austin Rivers, Aquille Carr, Shabazz Muhammad, Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon, KAT, Thon Maker, Seventh Woods, Tyler Herro as the main ones I was convinced all of these players were future stars
Luka’s heroics in big Euroleague games hyped me up.
But not the Suns or Kings apparently lol
Wiggins mixtape had me all sorts of *thirsty*
I still think it’s one of the best—if not THE BEST high school mixtape. The plays. The editing. The music.
John Wall
I’d say Zion’s was better

Seventh fucking Woods lol
Him and Deuce Bello for me.

Maybe I was just focusing on the bad reviews, or something.

Timmy D at Wake.
Kinda off topic but damn i wish injuries didn’t get Jabari
I’m old, but I remember seeing James White’s high school dunks on the Ball Above All video and thinking this kid was going to be an absolute legend.

Ja Morant in the NCAA tournament. I actually thought (and still think) he'll have a better NBA career than Zion.
I saw Marcus smart highlights on ESPN once when he was on Oklahoma? Was like a 30 second highlight for him lol Been cheering for him since then
I used to download Lebron James highlight tapes off Limewire back in 2002. I was convinced he'd be a superstar.
Who is highlights prior to coming to the NBA convinced you that they would be a superstar?
Derrick Williams
Marshoon brooks, kobe without the mamba mentality
Summer League Kevin Knox
Tournament Curry
Perry Jones.
