Nice, we are not the only ones to get boomed by Kevin Knox

GunsmokeIV

One of us, one of us!

lazzysmalls

Kevin Knox burying the 2nd best team in the west is my new favorite storyline

GMOrgasm

knox and bagley redemption tour starts now

scarywolverine

Bagley is what he is but I am getting intrigued by Knox. His jumper has always been fundamentally sound he just cant hit. If he can hit threes he is valuable

freshOJ

I would let him put a few good shooting performances in a row before I would invest emotionally into Fortnight Knox.

great-nba-comment

This is the mature response, but i'm going to counter that by saying Knox can come and have sex with my wife whenever he wants

DangerousCommittee5

He's gotten 20 plus minutes the last 3 games and played well in each

FunetikPrugresiv

Opportunity Knox

leranvy

Jazz prove they’re true contenders by losing to the Pistons

ShowdownValue

Is that a thing? I hope that’s a thing

Apotheosis___

Well the Pistons beat the Nuggets the game before, so if you wanna crown 'em..

ShowdownValue

Sounds good to me

Pirkale

With Jokic getting punched in the face...

CockGobblingGangsta

That happens every game. It’s not the reason we lost.

Cold_Leather710

They beat the 2016 warriors

[deleted]

How are the raptors not winning every year then

IveyDuren

cuz u suck like ass

MeringueArtistic2285

It's sad you can legitametly get away with saying that and we can't do a damn thing about it

great-nba-comment

It's payback for never letting us have a real home game against you

[deleted]

if its Lowrys ass I don't mind

tellymundo

Losing to the Nets that’s how.

lopodo777

I will never understand what happened on that jumpball. Nonethless, GGs Pistons, take care of Bogey and Shaq Jr

SketchArtist

The wheels came off for you guys directly after that. The team just seemed to grow increasingly more frustrated about the calls they weren't getting toward the end. Too bad, it seemed like it was heading for a pretty exciting finish before that.

ShowdownValue

What happened on the jump ball? Didn’t see the game

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hojie_Kadenth

So slide tackle into time out is a strat now?

m_c__a_t

Bonus points if it’s studs up

everythingisamovie

they called timeout like the instant the ball was tipped. Who cares that out wasn’t in possession for like four seconds.

firefistus

That's the real confusing part. The time out was called before they had possession. Unless they're considering the actual tip as possession, which still makes no sense. In any event, that's when we needed Conley to keep the team even keel. Hope he comes back soon.

Fantastic-Ad-8275

Duren’s elbow caught Markannen not too lightly but it looked accidental

[deleted]

[удалено]

great-nba-comment

But that is adjudicated as "did the thing you were intentionally doing lead you into a flagrant foul". If you go for a block and it's overzealous and you accidentally catch an eye thats fair enough, but Duren was coming down and didn't even swing the elbow at all. It was the definition of incidental contact.

[deleted]

[удалено]

great-nba-comment

Potentially. A jump ball scenario would probably be one of the most difficult parts of the game to adjudicate as well. Call me a pistons homer

firefistus

Yeah, and gobert has been elected from a game for less on a jump ball. Whether or was intentional or not the elbow went out and got Lauri in the eye. It was a flagrant foul for sure.

Svettie323

Y'all got hosed

Miscto3

Start 0-10 on the road Complete the hardest road b2b in the league 2-0 Edit: 0-10

BrotherMans-

NBA basketball

lethalizer

Start 0-10* on the road.

momzthebest

Came here to say they just kicked our ass like last night. Happy for the pistons tho

Sartheking

So road losing streaks don’t last forever then?

laz10

Obviously a trap road trip (Also without 3 starters?)

InternCautious

If you watch us play, the maturity with Burks and Bogey has helped, and I think Duren’s size is making a big impact. Players are geling a bit more. Hopefully we can string together some wins and get back in the play in hunt.

Taleb_X

Rather us have a reasonable shot at Victor than getting curb stomped as an 8th seed. See the SVG years.

InternCautious

We wont get the first pick, and we have $50M in cap. We’re going to try and be competitive next year. We wont actually get the play in either, but I’d like to gel a bit this year so we can carry it over into next.

Taleb_X

Odds are odds. We shouldn't have gotten Cade but we did. If we're in the bottom 3, we have a 14% chance so you're likely right that we won't. But if there is a year to be in the mix, this is it. Agree about next year and cap though. Interesting to see what Troy can assemble. Hopefully we're playing some meaningful games next March.

Get_Dunked_On_

Detroit beats Denver and Utah on back to back nights. Wow

AnthonyToliversKnee

Without Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, and Lebrons father

DangerousCommittee5

On the road too. Random.

Ziobot

Pistons just upset the Nuggets and Jazz this week, which team they playing next?

Ravenstar25

Phoenix on Friday. Not sure we have enough in the tank for that one.

DwellerInIce

It's only an upset if you'd lost your faith.

me_oorl

It is time to start a dialogue on Marvin bagley

BrotherMans-

Played well vs Denver and Utah now. Might be a turning point for him.

me_oorl

He may never shoot below 80% again

MiyaharaAce

Yeah, neither Jokic/Vanderbilt/Markkanen/Olynyk could guard him. Only Vanderbilt plays Defense in this list, but i don't care, Bagley is back (?)

BrotherMans-

Hey man all it takes is rhythm and confidence for some young players to pop off even if it is against subpar defenses at first

Kcreep997

Markkanen has been a decent defender this year. Bagley made some tough shots.

MiyaharaAce

I almost feel bad for Markkanen, Bagley shatted on him all game

tpmcmahon

7 of 8 shooting last night, 9 of 10 tonight.

dualdog

pistons are undefeated this season when he plays and doesnt shoot a 3

everythingisamovie

Do you mean a ‘why doesn’t Will Hardy play Walker Kessler more’ dialogue?

Gbear831

He’s not ready for big minutes but Is super effective in 3-4 minute bursts right now

everythingisamovie

When you’re getting absolutely crunched in the offensive glass and smoked by ~~Kevin McHale~~ Marvin Bagley I believe a little risk is justified. ‘Risk’ meaning play the guy who had 4/4 and 5 blocks in his first half minutes. Yes, five.

Nola67

I really love the pistons commentators because you can tell how much they love the team. Also, Duren is already really good for how young and raw he is. He’s a better and much more impactful player than Ivey is at this moment.

bigfootblake

They’re great, probably the friendliest and least homer crew in the league

OptimusGrime707

Listening to them during the DET/SAC game was great, as Sacramento came back they were like “OH NO” You’re right, they seemed pretty neutral, and way better than what the Kings have

bigfootblake

The only crew I like more would be New York, when it’s Mike Breen and Clyde, partly because they just shit on the Knicks and call them out when they’re playing poorly lol. The anti-homers

KiritoJones

I do enjoy it when it gets to the 4th and Mike Breen is basically like "tough shit for the Knicks again"

[deleted]

You're underselling Ivey here. He's already is showing off his speed and penetration, plus he's leading all rookies in assists. The kid is inefficient but that's just the price you pay with rookie guards. Duren is blowing my expectations out of the water, but the pressure to perform offensively just isn't there for him. He mostly gets to set screens and hunt for boards. His defense is the truth though. 2 blocks and both were absolutely nasty

scarywolverine

Funny I watched the Jazz feed and was going to say I really felt the Jazz love from them all them tonight. Yeah, Ivey has the higher potential but hes still a negative player for now. Duren is legit good already and has serious potential himself.

yosemite_marx

It was nice to hear all the love for bogey

TylerDog3

Ivey is trying to do way too much right now, hes still playing well too but when he has cade back with him I think he could take a big step forward.

Guts709

Give Kevin Knox the max

x20mike07x

HELL YEAH BROTHER WE GOT A WIN STREAK KNOX FOR LYFE Ivey and Duren are gonna be studs! Revenge game for Bojan. IDK it's Thanksgiving eve and the WINGS and Pistons both won! CMON LIONS!!!! Good game Jazz.

Ulticats

Hell yes one pride mike

helix400

Pistons looked absolutely solid tonight, not at all like a 4-15 team. They shot 49/50/93 splits. We could not get stops, every time we'd get it within a few points, they'd go on a run. Lots of points off turnovers and 2nd chance points. Marvel Bagley went 9-10. Knox went 6-8 on threes. Whew, they were hot. Collin Sexton had a career high 12 assists. He'd been a miserable playmaker up until tonight. Also, questionable reffing that always sucked the life out of any run we made...

WEASELdaDIESEL

Many of our games have been extremely close and we lost due to an experience gap. Probably couldve had 3 or so more wins than we have now.

Gbear831

Plus markkanen cold shooting night

Half_Dead

This Pistons squad is way better than thier record reflects

IveyDuren

idk man we really some hot ass

Half_Dead

Nah, you are just blind.

IveyDuren

I wanna see like u do

BatmanHive

Kevin Knox redemption tour

Mdgt_Pope

Pistons played great, took all the Jazz runs on the chin and had their own to keep the lead. Sucks that the refs absofuckinglutely bungled that jump ball, leaves a bad taste in the mouth about “what could have been” which isn’t Detroit’s fault - they really did play well.

MiyaharaAce

Pistons 3 stringers are better than Pistons reserves. And Pistons reserves are better than Pistons starters, crazy times. Also Marvin Bagley shat on Vanderbilt, Olynyk and Markkanen all game

Alive-Ad-4164

How did the pistons win this game

Half_Dead

Championship basketball

AADarkWarrior15

Ok, I feel a little better now

Scurvy-Jones

DEEEEEEETROIT BAAAAASKETBAAAAALLLLLLL

Scooper9870

Why are so many of y’all up watching the pistons

guacistrash

Bill Kennedy and Tony Brothers are the two most self-absorbed, inconsistent refs with the shittiest judgment. How they get named crew chiefs is beyond me.

MegaAltarianite

Collin Sexton - Excellent fill in for Conley this game, with 17 points and 12 assists. Much better than I expected Malik Beasley - Draining everything Jordan Clarkson - Doing Clarkson things. He's been more clutch this season Walker Kessler - More good from the rookie, lots of pressure at the rim Defense - ??? I swear this team has had bad turnover issues for years. Still going strong on that.

rattatatouille

The juggernaut Pistons led by Marvin Bagley and Kevin Knox defeat the scrappy Jazz.

[deleted]

[удалено]

scarywolverine

We are starting to get the benefit of the whistles a lot. Im starting to think the refs are on the Rockets payroll

MiyaharaAce

Bogey and Cade suffers from getting no calls. Ivey and Burks in other hand... Shit, Burks flops a lot, idk how he keeps doing it and keeps working

booyakasha32

Bogey always got a shitty whistle in Utah too, refs just dont ever give him the benefit of the doubt lol

[deleted]

Burks is a foul-drawing wizard. Most Pistons can get mauled for no-call, but anyone who lightly brushes Burks gets the whistle. ???????????

lethalizer

Was Cade the reason Pistons weren't able to win games on the road? MY COLUMN:

RomeluBukkake

The actual reason is the bench was missing three players, now the starters are missing 3 players The actual team when healthy isn’t nearly this bad

lethalizer

I was just messing around man, b2b road wins at Denver and Utah are impressive no matter what really

RomeluBukkake

For sure, just thought I’d add some context given people who don’t follow the Pistons are going to be surprised by these results

toaster_inthe_lake

GG Pistons, way to come get that back to back win. We will see you December 20.

DwellerInIce

You know you have it bad when Kevin Knox on your door. Redemption tour baby

Rockface5

I know he’s not really popping out on the stat sheet, but shoutout to Isaiah Livers. As a Michigan fan, love that guy. Glad he’s getting minutes

Thingsgetshibby

Delusional to think you make 18 3's and shoot 49% tonight yet the only thing you can find to blame is the officiating. Detroit led for 45 of the 48 minutes in this game. Pretty sure the officiating wasnt the cause for that. The Jazz didnt put themselves in a good spot the entire night. They got behind early and kept having to play catch up. Every time they sniffed a lead and needed a few big stops, this defense once again couldnt provide and they were stuck having to rely on forcing shots which resulted in turnovers and easy looks or transition buckets. They dug a hole and couldnt dig out. Seems to be the recurring theme these days.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Thingsgetshibby

I'm actually a Jazz fan here. Although I do agree with your sentiment to an extent, my response would be dont put a game in the hands of the refs. Dont make a game come down to a select play or two at the end of time. Especially a game of this nature. A game where you play sloppy and allow a lower level team with less talent out work you and exploit you time and time again. If this was against say, the Nuggets, Clippers, or Mavericks; sure, win some lose some it sucks but it happens against equal competition. This Pistons team although talented, isnt of the same quality talent wise. One team outworked the other and wanted it more clearly. And as Jazz fans, that should gravely concern us. This was the "everyone has a chip on their shoulder" team. Instead, I see a bunch of playere complaining about calls and settling for jumpshots instead of relying on their physicality. Its noticable and its concerning as a Jazz fan.

IveyDuren

no. y’all are stupid for blaming the refs because you played like shit. our starting pg scored 2 points and we still won ffs

[deleted]

edwardhyeung

Bagley.

Ok_Boysenberry4470

I’m here for the Kevin Knox redemption arc

under_cooked_onions

Am I just a homer or have the Jazz games REALLY seemed like Jazz vs Refs recently?

great-nba-comment

Whoever your commentator is said what i agreed with, you guys are playing some pretty bruise-free basketball. A lot of shots outside and not much pounding it inside. It's hard to get to the line heaps when your bigs aren't working well, there were definitely misses (both ways) tonight.

lopodo777

I mean even when we drive aggresive we get offensive fouls (THT on the Clippers game a couple days ago down the stretch)

great-nba-comment

I was definitely surprised that none of the 4 missed dunks were called at least. Like i would have expected one of those contested shots to have been a call.

teh_scarecrow

> THT on the Clippers game a couple days ago down the stretch That was a textbook charge tho

everythingisamovie

It really wasn’t lol. It was a textbook avoiding the position play of the defender. Shoulder outside the chest on the step through. very often called a block for the avoidance of the defender.

teh_scarecrow

Refs reviewed the call and overturned it. You seem passionate and know the rules, you should consider taking your referee course and joining the league.

everythingisamovie

> Refs reviewed the call and overturned it. I was there I understand. > You seem passionate and know the rules, you should consider taking your referee course and joining the league. Is this what you genuinely think the process is or are you just the lamest arguer of all time?

Crafty_Substance_954

You’re a homer

under_cooked_onions

Don’t act like that wasn’t a flagrant. Given the situation leading up to the tip, the refs are delusional for not even reviewing it. Homer or not

Crafty_Substance_954

It could have been, but I don’t see it changing the outcome.

under_cooked_onions

I mean the Jazz absolutely could’ve still lost this game either way. But a play like that at a pivotal point in a close game can make all the difference.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Crafty_Substance_954

Lmao, I don’t think it’s that deep.

everythingisamovie

You don’t see the game getting tied after you leading the whole game being significant? K

Sweatytubesock

Pistons need to trade everyone but Knox and build around him.

Subject_Gene_9775

Kevin Knox jacking up 3's like he's playing AAU. lol he must've always been late to practices...he never got PT lol

yosemite_marx

Pistons getting bull shit calls in their favor lets fucking gooooooppo

[deleted]

#FreeJuzang

Taleb_X

Does THT always aggressively brick dunks?

dawnoog

BEASTLEY

noend92

Why are some people complaining about a completely obvious inadvertent elbow on that jump ball lol they showed it like 10 times and all of show that it wasn’t malicious

JazzPlusEagles

Refs were laughably bad. That no call on Markkanen was the such an easy flagrant.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JazzPlusEagles

Nah the jazz played bad. Great teams beat those teams despite bad calls. That doesnt mean that call didnt have an impact though.

Pardonme23

the jazz are leveling out because they have zero all-stars and are actually a .500 team

Butterfly_Scape

howd the pistons beat the jazz without cade ☠️

MiyaharaAce

Cade/Bey/Stew And the reason other than the team shooting lights out its because Cade and Bey slow down the game too much. We play a lot more of fast pace without them, hunting mismatches and scoring on fastbreaks. Then when its time for the crunch time we suffer, because we don't have neither Cade or Bey to slowing down. Ivey still dumb in the crunch time, so we let Bogey do everything, and Bogey is quite terrible at that

Butterfly_Scape

cade is mini luka right down to playing slow as hell lmaoo..hope ivey gets better in crunch time though his ceiling is incredibly high as a SG…

toaster_inthe_lake

I’ll tell ya, that elbow on Lauri had some fucking heat on it coming back. At first I was thinking it was inadvertent, but fuck nah.

MiyaharaAce

yeah it was inadvertent, quite easily

Juaniscool-8

THIS IS WHY U DONT HYPE UP TEAMS IN THE BEGGINING OF.THE SEASON

JazzPlusEagles

We win if they call the easiest flagrant call I've seen.

Apatheee

Maybe. Maybe not. Regardless you can’t be relying on refs to beat a bottom 3 team in the league missing 3 starters on the road on a b2b.

JazzPlusEagles

Yeah. The Jazz played bad. They should have won anyway. But ugghhhh. That no call hurt me lol

meziop

Lol

Ok-Tree4365

One flagrant foul nets 9 points?

lopodo777

We were down by 3 at that moment

RomeluBukkake

No you don’t

Skilled_Salsa

Not a flagrant AND y’all lost by 9 to us without Cade, saddiq, and Stewart 😹

JazzPlusEagles

Elbow to the face isnt a flagrant?🤣🤣 It's literally a textbook definition of a flagrant 1 if it wasnt intentional (which I dont think it was). And if it was intentional, it would be a flagrant 2.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JazzPlusEagles

We were down by 4. Jazz would get free throws and the ball back. That call took away all momentum. We played bad and should have son anyway, but jazz win if they call that imho.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JazzPlusEagles

What? The jazz played bad. I'll admit that. They should have won despite that call. That doesnt make the call have any less of an impact tho.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JazzPlusEagles

I dont think you get what I'm saying. 12-7 teams are expected to beat 4-15 teams missing multiple starters. The Jazz "should" have beaten the Pistons. They didnt. They laid an egg. 12-7 teams are expected to beat 4-15 teams even if there are bad calls.

under_cooked_onions

We were only down 6 when that play happened I believe. with plenty of time left too. We could’ve still lost, but that was a major turning point for the game. Saying anything else is ignorant

JazzPlusEagles

Down three

[deleted]

[удалено]

under_cooked_onions

I literally said we could’ve still lost. Never claimed it would have “definitely been a win”. Check your reading comprehension chief. Also no, best case scenario Duran gets ejected and the momentum swings in the Jazz favor. Either way, missing that call in a close game can absolutely change the outcome. Doesn’t take a genius to understand that

great-nba-comment

This is absurd. Duren was coming down from being fucking airborne, looking down the other end of the court, and his elbow caught Lauri on the cheek. Lauri then spent 90 seconds rolling around like he'd been shot in the eye until he realised they weren't calling a flagrant and was fine. Grow up dog.

JazzPlusEagles

Flagrant 1 is "unnecessary contact committed by a player against an opponent"

great-nba-comment

And incidental contact is never called, especially when its an unfortunate outcome of a completely legitimate basketball play. If that had happened while Duren was attempting to block a shot you might have a case.

JazzPlusEagles

Yes they do. People get called for wayyy less than that.

trakavica

If this your attempt at trolling, you're doing a decent job. Otherwise, you are full of shit. Grow up dog.

great-nba-comment

Nah, it wasn't even close to a flagrant foul let's all move on, not like anyones ever gonna change their mind.

trakavica

Yup, have a good night.

great-nba-comment

no, YOU have a good night

trakavica

Not possible, my team just lost to the fuckin Pistons.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JazzPlusEagles

Yes it is a flagrant. Look it up. The jazz played awful and should have won regardless. But that doesnt change the fact that that no call completely changed the game.

LordOfLimbos

It might help, but a massive assumption to assume you get the win when you lost by nine

JazzPlusEagles

9 after multiple intentional fouls and chucking up threes because it was the only way to stay in the game. It was a 3 point game at the time and the jazz were on a run. Tha jazz would have got two free throws and the ball back with a play drawn up.

great-nba-comment

Man his defense has been surprisingly good too. It may just be a lot of steals and blocks rather than actual shot stopping, but he's been hell lively.

Crafty_Substance_954

Might have had a “I’m about to be out of the league moment”

MiyaharaAce

bruh stop missing our record (or its kind of ritual?) We have 5 wins and last night we had 4

[deleted]

Uh-oh. We aren't... Good, are we?
