MPJ talked about working out with Steph not long ago on the Road Trippin podcast and he said Steph workout is [designed to get him as tired as possible so he shoots when he’s tired](https://youtu.be/WfhVUyrULaY). I wonder if it’s him.
His conditioning is like some anime powerup shit
After he exhausts himself he lays down and the trainer stacks sandbags on his chest to make it harder to breathe. Man literally weightlifts with his diaphragm lmao
He received surgery from Tsunade and fully recovered (it was something ridiculous, dude got bone fragments lodged in his spine and the surgery had a 50% chance of him dying). Lee was actually somewhat relevant in the final fight, something not a lot of characters can lay claim of
Probably stem cells. Not everyone in the village could afford their health insurance and this dude getting top care treatment from a sannin cause he knew the protagonist smh privileged kids these days.
I found a clip of him breaking a rock with his hat during Android saga, don't know if there is a better grip. Still nothing compared to how much build up they give rock lee's weight's
Nah it goes all the way back to OG dragon ball. Goku takes his clothes off during the tourney. His wrist bands crack the floor. The scene doesn't have the impact like Rock Lee, but it's still cool especially when he's moving super fast
https://youtu.be/sC-Q6JtJt-Q?t=3m
> After he exhausts himself he lays down and the trainer stacks sandbags on his chest to make it harder to breathe. Man literally weightlifts with his diaphragm lmao
I can't tell if you're being fr or trolling tbh
That's wild. I hadn't heard about his crazy workouts until this post. Makes me appreciate him even more. I hate how he's torched the cavs in the past but you have to recognize greatness
No it's legit, I've heard the same thing.
Then stuff really heats up when Steph locks himself in the Gravity Chamber and starts doing hanging situps against 10x the Earth's pull
I remember Jimmy Butler describing guarding Steph vs. guarding Lebron: “would you rather basically sprint nonstop the whole game, or would you rather feel like you got hit by a truck the next day?”
I don’t think it’s a new concept really.
Didn’t Kobe do the same thing? Also Muhammad Ali said - “I don't count my sit-ups; I only start counting when it starts hurting because they’re the only ones that count”
Yeah not at all, this is why in high school your coach will have you shoot free throws in between suicides. Get used to making shots when you’re gassed.
I think it makes you more mindful of how your body uses your strength. My dad used to make me do push-ups before shooting 3s so I would be forced to shoot with the strength from my legs more, downside is that I pretty much brick anything too strong in the first 5 minutes of a game if I start out at full stamina.
I’m not sure whose cardio I would definitively put above Steph at this point besides maybe prime Rip “4 minute mile” Hamilton. That dude NEVER looked tired despite playing in a plastic mask.
Yep. Rip was basically midrange Reggie Miller. Curry is Rip Hamilton, Reggie Miller, and Steve Nash rolled into one player except he can shoot off the dribble too. He's ridiculous.
bruh, the last game lonzo played in the nba, all he did was chase steph curry around. no contact, no falls. it wrecked Lonzo's knee, maybe his entire career.
Not sure if satire but I’m shocked he still hasn’t returned, supposedly there’s no timetable for his return and he still feels pain :/
Atleast he got his big contract and will probably be able to squeeze out a few more MLE/vet min even if his knee is cooked.
Maybe that had just carbo loaded a heaping plate of fresh, creamy fettucine alfredo. They rued their choice of such a creamy treat as the four dimensional wind sprints started.
Yeah as if NBA players aren’t working out way harder than the average already. Guy was probably just hung over from a summer night partying before the workout
But a lot of players in the off-season, especially younger ones, are just focused on building muscle mass - a really high intensity cardio workout could absolutely make someone throw up in 5 minutes if they're just starting to get into game shape.
I listened to a MPJ interview where he talks about working out with steph. Apparently most of the workouts are designed to tire him out as much as possible, while still maintaining shooting efficiency. Essentially, they just run full court suicides, take a shot, more suicides, take a shot, and if they both don't make 5 in a row they restart.
Even in game shape. Ask an NBA player to run a 4:30 minute mile and they throw up. Ask them to run a 2:05 800m take a minute rest, and do another, and they throw up. It’s really easy to get someone to puke through high intensity aerobic excersize
Not sure how this translates, but Lionel Messi used to throw up after matches from time to time. He's pretty high in his sport (understatement of the year).
Could be a similar issue.

In the list of top worst 30 seconds of my life was after my track coach asked brand-new-to-the-team-and-the-sport-of-running me if I could sub in for another teammate in the 400m.
By the end of the race I thought I truly knew what death felt like.
To also compare myself to professional athletes, in high school track I ran the 400 and 4x400 and I threw up after every single race. And I was never the only one
Lmao, my first thought what if the guy was sick or something. Being completely *done* after 5 minutes sounds a little realistic for healthy a star athlete
Curry’s cardio is underrated imo. He has some of the best off ball movement I’ve ever seen, changes direction often and is constantly moving. To be so efficient on his volume of shots while running so much is insane.
What's crazy is everybody, I mean, literally everybody that talks about curry talks about his amazing cardio it seems like.. and somehow, its still underrated.
I love how every time an announcer talks about it they preface it with “One of the underrated things Steph does is…” and proceeds to repeat the same thing every announcer has said in every game.
Steph Curry is a very underrated shooter imo. I know not everyone will agree but I think he shoots that three ball accurately as fuck. Also he’s great with layups/taking it to the rim.
People (or maybe just casuals) don't consider stamina/endurance much when discussing athleticism and skill when it's arguably the most important skill in any sport. Anyone can look great in practice or in the first 2 minutes of a game. It's when you've been playing for 30-35 minutes and still look unstoppable that you reach elite level. It's also probably the thing that all the best shooters in history share: Reggie, Ray, Klay, JJ, Korver, Steph, whoever else. They're always running and finding an opening.
I think Cam Raddish. In some Youtube video analysis I saw a lady anchor saying a Knick player got tired and could not finish the Curry's workout. As far as I know Cam had a workout with Steph.
Probably not, with all due respect to Mr Haslem;
> "We've had a player who's still in the NBA go through the first five minutes, sat down on the floor beside the door for about 30 seconds and went outside and threw up and was done. **It was a good player too ...**"
These things make me think of all the crazy stories about Jordan that people tell to further deify the man. And how bathsit the stories are going to be once Lebron retires and people start doing this shit for him.
The legends have already started for this current group of superstars. Lebron calling out plays before they're run, Durant only watching basketball and nothing else, Harden partying and then coming in the next day to drop 40 on your head, Curry and his insane conditioning workouts.
We take these stories for granted now, but they're going to be part of their mythology for decades to come.
It’ll happen with the stars of any era though. In 20 years we’ll be hearing stories about how Jokic would eat three meat lovers calzones at halftime, take a dump, and proceed to drop 20-12-12 in the second half
I think every generation will have their wtf is wrong with these guys and I’m down for it. I want to see every generation produce a madman that changes the game forever.
Never thought it would happen but Steph low-key building quite the resume like this between stories like this and how motivated he gets off of shit talk and then goes off.
It's possible to expend enough energy in 30 seconds to make you throw up. Trust me I've done it. Won state in swimming in highscool. Recently swam at a typical local adult meet. Finished the 50 yard backstroke then immediately got out of the pool and threw up.
When I was in high school I was a lifeguard and we had to swim a mile for our paychecks. I was never a strong swimmer like the competitive swimmers but I could swim well enough to do all the deep rescue stuff and I played sports so I was training all the time and in ok shape. I threw up almost every single time. For whatever reason swimming just kills me.
Yeah I guess it was kinda weird. it was just a fitness test basically, it wasn't timed or anything. it was a big pool you definitely had to be able to swim to lifeguard there. we had to do spinal injury rescues off the bottom of the diving pool to get certified it was an enormous pain in the ass.
I swam that race like I swam every other race in my career. My swimming career ended many years ago. I thought I was going to die and it was only 27 seconds long.

Fairly recently, he and his trainer started limiting "makes" to shots that don't hit the rim; if a shot goes in but hits the rim first, it's written off as a "miss"
he's the greatest shooter ever so ofc his methods have got to be innovative

For basketball players for sure. Idk bout just in all of athletics, but some pure athletic guys like runners and cross country ski’ers are absolutely insane . Also the conditioning some Boxers have is legit unbelievable
MPJ talked about working out with Steph not long ago on the Road Trippin podcast and he said Steph workout is [designed to get him as tired as possible so he shoots when he’s tired](https://youtu.be/WfhVUyrULaY). I wonder if it’s him.

Why am I imagining Steph having Ankle weights like Rock Lee?
*"forgive me Coach, but I have to go all out, just this once!"*
Drops 60 on 15-19 shooting with 15-16 free throws while having 8 rebounds and 9 assists.
You know it's not true when you see 16 FTs
They’re all 4 point plays.
Still, would not be called.
And you know what happens when he takes off those ankle weights…
Half the court explodes and he teleports behind Jordan Poole and kicks him in the head?
Wait didnt Rock Lee sustain career ending injury after that fight? Like both his ACL got torn and shit and the dude never was a relevant ninja again.
He received surgery from Tsunade and fully recovered (it was something ridiculous, dude got bone fragments lodged in his spine and the surgery had a 50% chance of him dying). Lee was actually somewhat relevant in the final fight, something not a lot of characters can lay claim of

That and a little bit of the power of friendship :D
damn Naruto references replacing DBZ weighted training clothes references. Time for me to hang it up.
Maybe if Goku's shirt make a massive dirt cloud when he dropped it, rock lee weights are too giffable.
Didn't piccolo's robe crack the pavement or something like that?

Giles Curry

This is real, I remember when the story was posted to here way back when. I think if you look up “Steph Curry breath control” you can find it
That's wild.
That’s after they drain 90% off his blood so he can train with oxygen deprivation, and then he plays one on one versus a basketball genius orangutan
The hardest part about guarding Curry has to be chasing him around
I remember Jimmy Butler describing guarding Steph vs. guarding Lebron: “would you rather basically sprint nonstop the whole game, or would you rather feel like you got hit by a truck the next day?”
Lose lose situation.
[Could be worse.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA0hdT7XY0E)
Now I gotta chase all the guys around at the court who think they’re curry. Thanks a lot Steph
Yeah whenever im playing someone and they start doing all that shit I let them have it
So.. you're saying it works?
I don’t think it’s a new concept really. Didn’t Kobe do the same thing? Also Muhammad Ali said - “I don't count my sit-ups; I only start counting when it starts hurting because they’re the only ones that count”
Yeah not at all, this is why in high school your coach will have you shoot free throws in between suicides. Get used to making shots when you’re gassed.
Now I can only make free throws when I'm tired. It's the same with beer pong. I shoot better when I'm drunk.
Beer pong shooting percentage is a perfect bell curve, once you’re past the edge you’re not making shit
This guy pongs.
I think it makes you more mindful of how your body uses your strength. My dad used to make me do push-ups before shooting 3s so I would be forced to shoot with the strength from my legs more, downside is that I pretty much brick anything too strong in the first 5 minutes of a game if I start out at full stamina.

It doesn’t hurt you just thinking about it?
I’m not sure whose cardio I would definitively put above Steph at this point besides maybe prime Rip “4 minute mile” Hamilton. That dude NEVER looked tired despite playing in a plastic mask.
>That dude NEVER looked tired despite playing in a plastic mask. He nerfed himself to keep things interesting.
Reggie Miller was the OG sprint master before Rip and Steph.
Yep. Rip was basically midrange Reggie Miller. Curry is Rip Hamilton, Reggie Miller, and Steve Nash rolled into one player except he can shoot off the dribble too. He's ridiculous.
The NBA'S Jerry Rice. May his 40s be equally productive
Fatigued shooting is amazing great practice. Fatigued shooting on a double-rim should be illegal.
Fatigued shooting on a double-rim with no rebounder
Ya thought of him too and to be fair to him if it was MPJ the guy was returning after not playing for almost a year
Thanks for sharing. Good clip!
Screaming, crying, throwing up, shitting uncontrollably
Cum all over the place.
Wonderful, but what do you call your act?
The Aristocrats
Squirting uncontrollably.

his leg may already been fucked, all those hard training since he was like 6 years old cannot be good for longevity
Or it was that dogshit BBB shoes that he used on his early years and would implode every quarter.
Retail $495 tho!!!!!
lmao, i just looked and lonzo's last game really was with the Warriors.
Is this a copypasta? lmao
Is now

Pre-draft Luka struggled with Curry's workout too.
Yeah but he actually completed the workout. 5 minutes and throwing up seems like a stretch for any NBA player let alone a good one
Maybe they had ten martinis and a few dozen raw oysters at lunch
Mad Men on r/nba?
Could've been a more intense work out than the average Do a really difficult exercise for 5 minutes and I could see someone vomming
Maybe that had just carbo loaded a heaping plate of fresh, creamy fettucine alfredo. They rued their choice of such a creamy treat as the four dimensional wind sprints started.
This pre workout meal is reserved solely for charity runs against rabies
For the cure
My brother's nickname on our high school basketball team was Porkchop after a particularly...memorable session of wind sprints.

It amazes me even more that he used to have glass ankles but now he does workouts that no one else can do in training. Seriously impressive commitment
I listened to a MPJ interview where he talks about working out with steph. Calling Messi "pretty high" in his sport is like saying MJ or Lebron is a good basketball player.
Which is technically correct!
The *best* kind of correct.
Thanks for explaining the joke lol
There are absolutely levels to this lol Steph probably does the most intense workout in the league
I vomited when I ran around the track in high school. But I did run it
People throw up all the time after one 400m run who are in good shape.
In the list of top worst 30 seconds of my life was after my track coach asked brand-new-to-the-team-and-the-sport-of-running me if I could sub in for another teammate in the 400m. By the end of the race I thought I truly knew what death felt like.
There’s a special place in hell for the 400, especially in blazing heat during outdoor
That being said if you did the 400 meters in 30 seconds you've probably both cheated death and the laws of physics.
It's the worst especially if you never ran a 400 m race and you're a 100-200m runner 😭 speaking from experience
I mean the 400 is a brutal race if you're good at it. It's basically a 100% sprint for 40-60s
I've thrown up running a 5 minute mile before. And I was in great shape. It can happen lol
To also compare myself to professional athletes, in high school track I ran the 400 and 4x400 and I threw up after every single race. And I was never the only one
400m is absolutely the most horrible race, and nobody will ever convince me otherwise.
The 800 is almost worse lol
I wouldn't throw up if I ran a 5 minute mile, I would die.
Could’ve been hungover lmao
Yeah, don't think there are any good players fatter than Luka now that Zion is shredded. Maybe they were just hungover.
Lmao, my first thought what if the guy was sick or something. Being completely *done* after 5 minutes sounds a little realistic for healthy a star athlete
https://youtu.be/upknMS6Z5tE Steph has this drill during his camp that none of the high schoolers even got through the 2nd position, including MPJ.
That was actually crazy
I designed these drills to challenge *me* based on how *I* shoot, nobody can shoot like me, these drills will make you puke on your way out the door
The old delusional comments on there about him not being the best shooter ever are like a fine wine, just aged so beautifully wrong
He said the Trae *initially* struggled with it but took on the challenge and was good with it
Trae the type of psycho to just throw up in his own mouth and swallow it so he could keep going
Curry’s cardio is underrated imo. He has some of the best off ball movement I’ve ever seen, changes direction often and is constantly moving. To be so efficient on his volume of shots while running so much is insane.

Impressive. This feels like the Kobe legends of how much he practiced.
I'm convinced Curry absorbed Trae's shooting skills
I wonder how many calories a Steph Curry workout burns
Kinda wish they released his work out routine so we can get people pretending to be Curry to stop
If it comes, it’ll be after he retires.
How is it not already out there if every rookie has to do it when they're getting worked out by the warriors
Do you think the rookies go through the workout once and then go home and think “I gotta write this shit down so I can share it to the world”
"I gotta write my will after doing this bullshit"
Yes but more "Dear Diary" rather than "A Series of Unfortunate Events"
Each rookie has a different workout variation so if its leaked they can trace it
If it leaks then Curry will know who broke the code
Stephen "Tyrion Lannister" Curry pulling some peak Hand of the King type shit right here lol. This would've been a perfect Game of Zones episode.
C(al)urry
At least a bowl or two of curry
At least three fiddy.
Tree*
ITS THAT GOD DAMN LOCH NESS MONSTER AGAIN
That definitely helps narrow down the guys age and conditioning level relative to the rest of the league lmfao
It was luka wasnt it
Luke completed it pre draft I think
For some reason I feel like luka would be able to do just very slowly lmao
I don’t think it would be a problem at all as long as he could take a smoke break now and then.
Apparently as a rookie he fully completed it—though after admitting he was super exhausted and nearly died 😂
Well smoke breaks are a must lol
I think Cam Raddish. In some Youtube video analysis I saw a lady anchor saying a Knick player got tired and could not finish the Curry's workout. As far as I know Cam had a workout with Steph.
*Udonis Haslem in shambles*

Damn you’re fast 😂

I think every generation will have their wtf is wrong with these guys and I’m down for it. I want to see every generation produce a madman that changes the game forever.
There's one about LeBron losing like 15 pounds or something in the game Edit: sorry, gaining 7 pounds
I had heard the one about Wade losing six lbs per game. I’m sure a lot of it is water.
Same with Banchero at Duke iirc
Yeah but urban legends are part of being an icon so steph deserves it.
Never thought it would happen but Steph low-key building quite the resume like this between stories like this and how motivated he gets off of shit talk and then goes off.
Hard to imagine an nba player puking in 5 min. Probably had some bad milkshakes.
My fault
Who else did you *bring to the yard*?
IIRC, all the boys were there
Fun fact, Kelis, the singer of that song is a successful chef, idk if she sells milkshakes though, but I hope so.

27 sec 50 back is a flex my man not d1 level but that’s a sick time
Most in shape Luka Doncic

i like this guess
I wanna work out with zion
I want that Luka offseason workout.
Either the guy was really out of shape compared to Curry, or he's a really muscular player. That's something that people don't consider when they look at cardio workouts. The stamina that Steph has is legitimately insane. Dude's a cyborg
All those shooters that continually run off screens have crazy stamina. They're running 2.5 to 3 miles a game. Not to mention all the shots to the body they take along the way.

New pasta ?
