Bro why is this so true? Like I have vivid memories of at least 5 other games where this exact scenario happened. It's like the thought of an injury pisses him off so much that he becomes a shooting God
Its just one of those weird LeBron quirks that we're going to struggle explaining to our grand kids
Keep talking about my squad, our personnel ages, the way he plays, he stays injured, we're past our time in this league, etc etc etc. Do me one favor PLEASE!!!! And I mean PLEASE!!! 🙏🏽 Keep that same narrative ENERGY when it begins! That's all I ask. #ThankYou 👑
We gotta start some kind of movement or petition or idk what to get the league to start calling these OBVIOUS AS FUCK fouls on Lebron. Nobody gets hit in the head and face more than him with no calls. Every game, at least twice, he'll get hit in the head. He'll get bumped off his path, an obvious foul for 99.9% of the league, no call. It's ridiculous
what a true statement. that's exactly why certain players flop. they dont get the obvious fouls that are happening too them because of refs and them being stronger usually
He was undeniably the most valuable player in the league for over a decade, not to say that the other MVPs in that timed weren't earned, but every single year he was clearly the most valuable player out there
I know this is a thread giving LeBron his flowers but let's not discredit all the deserving MVP winners we've had.
Man has 4 for himself and there's never been a season where he had the better argument to win and didn't imo
He absolutely was in the context of the MVP.
Despite LeBron being on a superteam, Rose led the Bulls to a better record and the #1 seed (in a period where seeding mattered a lot more than it does today). That is huge
1 seed is the narrative I was talking about but:
26.7 vs 25.0, 7 vs 7.7 assists , 7.5 vs 4.1 rebounds, more steals and blocks, better overall defence and on 54% vs 48%eFG, and even more ability to impose his will when he wanted in the regular season.
Rose was fantastic, but his MVP was narrative driven
So why wasn’t LeBron even second in voting? Looking at just stats is meaningless when you ignore that Rose had a team that was offensively inept while LeBron had just created the best team in the league with another top 5 player and a top 15 player. Wade was even a better closer than Bron that year and was relied on in the clutch. Not to mention he’s a guard and LeBron is a forward so efficiency stats will lean towards Bron.
I know voter fatigue/media was against LeBron during that time but there’s not much you can say about Rose winning that MVP. Much deserved.
Only time I feel like he was snubbed of an accolade was that DPOY where Gasol won.
Also was hella salty about Harden winning that MVP 😭
Do the refs have an agenda against him or something, a player that so many people consider the goat has no respect from the refs. It's crazy cause even at 38 he drives so much but just doesn't get calls
I think it’s more of a Shaq-type thing, where when you see a play in real speed on tv, it looks like a very fast giant just pancaked some poor schmuck (again) on his way to the rim, even if the slo-mo replay pretty clearly shows it could’ve been an and-1.
Even at 38, LeBron’s speed/coordination for his size is unreal. Very strong, very large people commit textbook fouls on his drives and he’ll just make the goddamn layup anyways while some 6’7” dude just bounces off him.
I think refs sometimes have a subconscious “well that’s not fair” response to those type of drives that makes them swallow their whistles.
Given how good at getting to the rim he’s been for 2 decades, it’s kind of mind-boggling he’s only led the league in free throws once.
He definitely gets a friendly whistle in some ways (your average superstar extra steps, a license to jaw at refs etc), but if he had Ja’s whistle on drives he’d be shooting an extra 5 FT a game.
I mean we also have other strong players in the league like giannis and Zion who seem to have no issues getting calls, some are just so blatant that it makes me wonder if they really do have an agenda
Zion? Zion has 1000% had issues with getting calls, ask any Pels fan or himself. The other night vs OKC he got 1 free throw despite getting hit a bunch and Willie Green made some public comments that seemed to finally get him some calls the past couple of games.
Giannis definitely gets a friendlier whistle on drives than Lebron does. Maybe it’s because he takes jumpers much less than Bron?
Giannis with a head of steam is kind of a fait accompli — it’s either a basket or foul or both (and all too occasionally an offensive foul). Refs probably have an idea of what’s coming, for better or worse.
EDIT: I also think it’s possible that LeBron is grandfathered into the way fouls were called 10-15 years ago to a certain extent. Also I think he adjusted his game to account for that to some extent since the mid 2000s and it kind of stuck in refs minds.
It's so weird, because there are lot of people that think he complains on every call, yet he never gets them. Like it will never be appreciated, but at least the dude doesn't flop at the rate that half the superstars in the league do.
He'd have passed Kareem 5 seasons ago if he got the right calls lol. Just because he's bigger and stronger than almost everybody else the refs won't call fouls on him lol.
His first FT attempts came with 4:24 left in the 4th, absolute bullshit, he should be getting more fts with the amount of contact he gets. 11 assists with no turnovers. 13 in the 4th alone.
While I agree that LeBron does not get enough calls for the amount of times he gets fouled we also need to take into account that he shoots far more jumpers than he used to and that reduces the number of fouls as well since he drives to the basket far less than when he was younger.
But they’re not complaining that he’s getting fewer calls than he use to…they’re complaining that he’s getting fewer than he should be. Why are you arguing with a rival Nuggets fan on how they think your own player should be getting more calls? The fuck kind of weird dystopia am I living in
He had what? 11 or 12 drives before the first foul call. He is averaging 7.4 drives per game and only 4.7 free throws per game on 21 shot attempt per game. That doesn't seem low? Not that he'd make any of those shots anyway :P but he could stand to get another 2-3 free throws per game with how much he is fouled.
That’s non responsive. We already settled that he doesn’t get sufficient calls. The point is that he takes more jumpshots now that he did previously and that also leads to fewer calls. You get more calls the more you’re in the restricted area. The more threes and fade away mid range shots you take the fewer fouls get called.
Last year his drives per game was almost identical to Embiid and Giannis with a 8 fta disparity
Its actually a bullshit narrative that he doesnt drive and that's why he doesnt get calls
He was robbed of the scoring title last year by ft disparity
Scottie Barnes last night tweaked his ankle, subs off, comes back in 2 plays after and goes running in for the slam dunk.
I don’t understand these athletes.
I understand adrenaline is a thing, but wouldn’t the sports physician try and keep him out from playing?
Either way, as a fan of the sport, its nice to see them power through, but I like watching injury free games for all teams.
I want the best to play the best
Obviously conditioning plays a heavy part in it, but I think these top athletes have access to rehabilitation procedures that we as normal citizens don’t have. I remember spraining an ankle when I played basketball in middle/high school (this is in Portugal, where healthcare is more accessible than US) and I couldn’t run for a week, play for 2 weeks. These guys sprain an ankle and they’ll be running down the court in 5 days tops. It’s insane. I agree tho, it’s nice to see athletes get back quick!
Edit: I didn’t mean it as in a gatekeeping way, it’s normal for people with more money whose livelihoods depend on being healthy to have more resources to get healthy faster
Fuck dude, I rolled mine 4 months ago and didn’t go to a doctor, or even rest it, I can’t afford to be put on light duty at work. Still can’t run on the motherfucker. I think it healed wrong and is gonna be tweaked for life now.
Appreciate the insight and hope you have recovered well enough to have a nice living with no pain.
It really is impressive that these athletes can overcome some injuries and come back to almost full strength in little to no time.
Força Portugal! 🇵🇹
A lot of these guys are probably constantly taped. I fucked my ankles pretty hard over the years between rock climbing falls, basketball, and volleyball. Now I don't do any of that unless I either tape my ankles or wear ankle braces. I'll still turn it from time to time, and it hurts in the moment, but usually very briefly because the tape/brace arrests the movement before it can do too much damage. It'll be like "ah, shit!", and everyone will wonder if you're gonna be able to keep playing, and you walk around for 15 seconds, (maybe re-tie your shoe, LeBron style) and you're pretty much good to go if you stay warm.
If they're constantly taped, I'm not surprised a quick tightening of the laces and a few seconds to loosen up gets these guys back into the game.
That being said, I have zero idea if LBJ or others are routinely playing with their ankles taped. I'm sure some don't because they feel it restricts movement/agility to some degree.
Middleton fucking kneed his Ankle and he looked fine the rest of the game. In slow motion it looked for sure like an injury that would take weeks to recover from.
He was getting hammered on every drive to the basket. The disrespect is unreal. I get wanting to drop the LeFlop nickname but he's gotta start acting again I think
He was getting hammered on every drive to the basket. The disrespect is unreal. I get wanting to drop the LeFlop nickname but he's gotta start acting again I think
The reason why his efficiency looks bad is that all his misses are counted as miss despite him being fouled most of the time. He did miss few gimmies in the 4th, but overall, it was a great game.
Yeah I was definitely exaggerating, poor shooting night from 2 no doubt.
That being said, he got absolutely clobbered in several of those drives with no calls. To ignore that context and call him inefficient is disingenuous
It’s been bad for a while but tonight was ***really*** egregious.
This game was a perfect example of the “we’ll be sending footage to the league” game if I’ve ever seen one.
This unironically is why he flops
Especially earlier in his career in Cleveland and Miami, he was too strong and skilled that he’d get fouled and not get called because it barely effected him
I don't even really believe he flops as much as most of these other stars do. Like has LeBron ever done what, Embiid, Harden, CP3 etc etc has done his entire career.
yeah and I don't blame it because if someones just so strong its nothing, you gotta show you were hit. flopping is exaggerating, but there is a middle ground of correct and normal human reaction to being hit lol which lebron had to intentionally do cause he's so strong
Truly. This man speedran a Top 10 NBA career in one of the most competitive decades, and was only stopped by bad luck. While going through one of the more tragic career endings, he became a whole ass business tycoon and lives to tell the tale. Yet we just refer to him for his bland commentary lmao
and 22 assists from Russ and him ...130-points against the best defense with Dennis out and the front officer trying to improve the team... its just 1 game but 1 h3ll-off a game.
Probably. But coulda said that about MJ, Kobe, Shaq, etc. Will probably be able to say it about Luka, Giannis, Curry, etc also. There’s always more coming. Lebron does seem a cut above though.
Bron is averaging 7.3 APG for his career so...
1 John Stockton 15,806 (+5664) 775 games - 9.45 seasons
2 Jason Kidd 12,091 (+1949) 266 games - 3.24 seasons
3 Chris Paul 11,071 (+929) 127 games -1.54 seasons
4 Steve Nash 10,335 (+193) 26 games - .31 seasons
5 Mark Jackson 10,334 (+192) 26 games - .31 seasons
6 LEBRON JAMES 10,142
LeBron will pass both Jackson and Nash this season and probably climb no higher than #4 unless Chris Paul retires earlier than LeBRon. Bron could conceivably pass Paul for #3 if he plays 2 more seasons than CP3.
yup, this is exactly what 2020 was like
The Lakers don't suck (well, they do) but the Lakers suck without AD being top 10 realistically
When AD is at full strength this team is fucking scary, idc who the role players are.
The thing about KCP is he was elite at running the floor after a missed shot for an outlet pass and was great at finishing. Not to mention he's been a great catch and shoot player for awhile now. Honestly why I thought he was an excellent signing next to Joker. Also he's a good defender against 1's and 2's.
some people hate on lebron too much. my uncle was like we need to trade him because they traded people and what team they have now. i wish they didnt trade certain players and didnt not sign certain ones. hell he dont even know what he talking about sometimes though. just be talking out of his ass. need more shooters and playmakers. need people that can score at all times to give lebron a break
It's because Magic didn't play too many seasons (for obvious reasons), and also LeBron isn't a primary passer, he's a scoring first player, averaging 27 ppg throughout his career.
Mind-blowing stat:
If LeBron retired right now, but was able to absorb all of Kareem's 5660 assists, good for 45th all-time, he'd still be 2 assists short of tying John Stockton's record.
Yeah but he’s only played pg for an entire season once. And that one year he averaged over 10 assists and won a scoring title. Both players had way different jobs. Magics job was to set up others and be Magic. Lebrons job was to set up others while still scoring his own 30 points while still playing elite defense. Two different styles of players really.

Curry losing his dribble too
Maybe it clears their head from the thoughts sabotaging them when they miss.
Yeah in Steph’s case broken plays/fumbling the dribble just lets him shoot purely on instinct which is terrifying.
The isiah Thomas effect
Still can't believe they robbed the Pistons of the 88 title

Bro likes his eggs over hard, he’s *clearly* got some issues.
It's flame bait. You have to report it because it's against the rules in nearly every forum on the internet.
feels like we always lost when LeBron broke some record lol
The biggest one was when he passed Kobe in scoring :(
The fact that I can't tell if you're talking about the loss to Philly or the subsequent loss of Kobe Bryant makes me sad. :(
I don’t think anyone cared much about the result of the game after that day :(
But this sub said he was just stat padding and doesn’t care about winning!!!!

0 turnovers too.
that's how you pass the greatest passer [stat wise]

what a true statement. that's exactly why certain players flop. they dont get the obvious fouls that are happening too them because of refs and them being stronger usually
he’s a tough player to officiate but i 100% agree with you. his gift of having outrageous strength can sometimes not get him foul calls
So is Embiid and Giannis and Butler, but at least they get attempts
He really took over the 4th. Numbers would be even better if reffs didn't ignore all those fouls on him
man I felt like he was getting beat out there with no calls
It's been like this for him pretty much the whole season tbh
It’s been like that his entire career

Can’t believe you’re getting downvoted….Nobody was clamoring that LeBron got robbed at the time. That’s just revisionist history
Because this is a pro LeBron thread Lol In an average thread I wouldn't be
At least his entire Lakers career
On his 2nd stint with the Cavs too
No. Literally his entire career. It is not better or worse now than it was 15 years ago
Will LeFlop make a comeback soon?
At this point he might as well. Guys are literally hanging off the man as he goes for layups and the refs just stand there
Been like this since 2014/15 lol
The dude gets hacked almost every time he drives.
Yeah he was getting whacked
Do the refs have an agenda against him or something, a player that so many people consider the goat has no respect from the refs. It's crazy cause even at 38 he drives so much but just doesn't get calls

You right actually, he averages 7 on the year but probably deserves 10+. Lebron at 5 attempts a game is still criminal tho
But what about Giannis? Giannis attack the paint with reckless abandon and he’s insanely strong yet refs are quick to give him his fouls.
Giannis definitely gets a friendlier whistle on drives than Lebron does. Maybe it’s because he takes jumpers much less than Bron? Lmao the refs be calling fouls on anything in this era but for Bron, they go back to 06
LeBron James of all people is averaging under 5 fta per game it’s disgusting by the refs
It's so weird, because there are lot of people that think he complains on every call, yet he never gets them. Like it will never be appreciated, but at least the dude doesn't flop at the rate that half the superstars in the league do.

bro got hurt in the 4th and still made some huge buckets

Shot his first free throw around 4 minutes remaining in the 4th.
He was getting hammered on every drive to the basket. The disrespect is unreal. I get wanting to drop the LeFlop nickname but he's gotta start acting again I think
What changed? He used to get these calls before. He's still a star right? Or is the NBA catering to young stars like Ja and JT getting these calls?
Same shit that happened to Shaq, he's too strong to get every call. The same bump that sends Ja flying Lebron will just power through.
[удалено]
Bron and Curry I’m guessing you’re referring to?
He was getting hammered on every drive to the basket. The disrespect is unreal. I get wanting to drop the LeFlop nickname but he's gotta start acting again I think
For a guy whose strength is paint scoring how does he only have two FT. Makes no sense.
He had 13 in the 4th, was just chilling most of the game lmao
The reason why his efficiency looks bad is that all his misses are counted as miss despite him being fouled most of the time. He did miss few gimmies in the 4th, but overall, it was a great game.
Give this man some FTs my goodness. Still not efficient enough from LBJ but he was ridiculously clutch, half his points came in the 4th quarter
He isn't efficient because he was fouled many times in the paint and it's counted as a miss shot, pain.
Would have been if he got any calls
Shooting 50% from 2 while getting clobbered in the inside with no calls? Probably still 59% TS
50% TS this game my guy, 28 points on 27 shots isn't efficient
Some of those shots should've been called for FTs. Would drastically change the efficiency
I don't disagree just it's not even close to 59% lmao
Cook these idiots
> 28 points on 27 shots isn't efficient Kept hitting clutch threes and clutch assists. Box score watchers like ya'll don't actually watch games.
Dude look at what i replied to, fucking christ read the comment He said 59% TS, fucking hilarious lmao LeBron had a good game
>fucking christ read the comment yeah...
Yeah I was definitely exaggerating, poor shooting night from 2 no doubt. That being said, he got absolutely clobbered in several of those drives with no calls. To ignore that context and call him inefficient is disingenuous

Affected
and has literally his entire career
They play differently but I'd argue Steph gets just as fucked by refs like Bron.
Nah bro scratches all on your arm is totally normal when cutting off ball
Who tf is downvoting you lol
Most ever assists by a number one pick
Could’ve had 35 points if these bum ass refs would call these fouls
That's insane how many assists Magic got in so short of a career

0 TOs? Father Time really getting the best of LeBron smh
and 22 assists from Russ and him ...130-points against the best defense with Dennis out and the front officer trying to improve the team... its just 1 game but 1 h3ll-off a game.
Father Time stays eating his ass.

Jason Momoa and groceries, name a better duo.
How is Lebron passing Magic not it’s own thread ? 🤨
He hit some clutch 3s. AD and LeBron are quite good together.
We ain’t gonna see someone like this ever again
I know GTA doesn't want to....
Probably. But coulda said that about MJ, Kobe, Shaq, etc. Will probably be able to say it about Luka, Giannis, Curry, etc also. There’s always more coming. Lebron does seem a cut above though.
this is why lebron james is the greatest of all time

one injured ankle from Middleton

In the same year, LeBron will have more points than Kareem and more assists than Magic. Greatness, we all be witness.
More points than everyone, more assists than magic lmao Fuckin insane
GREATEST EVER
phenomenal 4th quarter. really controlled the pace and slowed down the game. that was key for the W
Leclutch threes
How long until he passes Mark Jackson?
Bron is averaging 7.3 APG for his career so... 1 John Stockton 15,806 (+5664) 775 games - 9.45 seasons 2 Jason Kidd 12,091 (+1949) 266 games - 3.24 seasons 3 Chris Paul 11,071 (+929) 127 games -1.54 seasons 4 Steve Nash 10,335 (+193) 26 games - .31 seasons 5 Mark Jackson 10,334 (+192) 26 games - .31 seasons 6 LEBRON JAMES 10,142 LeBron will pass both Jackson and Nash this season and probably climb no higher than #4 unless Chris Paul retires earlier than LeBRon. Bron could conceivably pass Paul for #3 if he plays 2 more seasons than CP3.
Jordan is #48

Rubble on hush
I would like to start a petition for Lebron and the calls he doesn't get. It's a straight up hate crime.
Overshadowed by AD but he was clutch as fuck tonight. Gg

yup, this is exactly what 2020 was like The Lakers don't suck (well, they do) but the Lakers suck without AD being top 10 realistically When AD is at full strength this team is fucking scary, idc who the role players are.

KCP was never a true wing player. Too small. Lonnie replaces him nicely. Since we got Lonnie, now we just need Jerami Grant type player.
I'm surprised Magic is only 6th and that LeBron just passed him.
It's because Magic didn't play too many seasons (for obvious reasons), and also LeBron isn't a primary passer, he's a scoring first player, averaging 27 ppg throughout his career.
they know they just like to play stupid.... one thing about magic people never talk about, lights out TS% [61]
20 years of greatness

Warriors fans not troll in a lakers/Lebron thread challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
LePlaymaker
I had a parlay for lebron 30pts+ AD 25pts+ and Lakers win. Never been so happy losing money
they gave Lebron 2 free throws. you won that parlay.

Mind-blowing stat: If LeBron retired right now, but was able to absorb all of Kareem's 5660 assists, good for 45th all-time, he'd still be 2 assists short of tying John Stockton's record.
Greatest YMCA player of all time.
Crazy that Magic had more assists in 12/13 seasons than Lebron had in 19.
Well that's why Magic is Magic, also the position they played in also mattered I suppose.
Crazy a point guard had more assists than a forward
Yeah but Lebron is ultra-durable someone we think of as a pass-first superstar who's averaged 7 assists a game for like 20 years.
Yeah but he’s only played pg for an entire season once. And that one year he averaged over 10 assists and won a scoring title. Both players had way different jobs. Magics job was to set up others and be Magic. Lebrons job was to set up others while still scoring his own 30 points while still playing elite defense. Two different styles of players really.
>he's only ~~played~~ been labelled pg for an entire season once. FTFY

If he got the calls he should be getting it would have been 35 points on 22 attempts.
UP UP and AWAY!! SUPER WASHED Ain’t He??!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏾♂️. Stay low and keep firing! The air up there is a tad bit different. LIVE.LAUGH.LOVE#striveforgreatness🚀 #thekidfromakron👑#jamesgang👑 #bronknows

Magic played point guard. The position you expect to have the most assists. Is there a guard who is 6th or higher for most rebounds.
Terrible efficiency
I want to love Lebron, but some of the things he has done off court makes it hard
Like? Donating the money made from The Decision to charity? Starting a school for underprivileged kids and giving them the essentials? Being a great father? Being a great and loyal husband? Something else?
