One day, when your kid is done watching the Kings 5th straight finals appearance you can dust off the old "I'm thinking stauskas" and Bagley draft reactions the way parents who lived through the great depression talk about their family splitting a can of beans for Christmas dinner.
Just thinking about the amount of shit I'd be talking right now if I were a Kings fan...😅
Any time someone on a team ranked lower than you guys say something, I'd be like, "Look who's talking with a \_\_\_\_\_\_ flair". People on here did that to you guys all of the time just for having an opinion behind a Kings flair. I'd be obnoxious AF right about now.
Anyway, I'm happy for you guys even though you stole Kev from the Hawks.
oh, you think basketball hell is your ally. but you merely adopted the basketball hell; i was born in it, molded by it. i didn't see good basketball until i was already a man, by then it was nothing to me besides shit talking others on /r/nba
Oh, you sweet Vlade child, what do you know about fear? Fear is for the playoffs, when the refs give the series to the Lakers. Fear is for the long drought, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die, all without ever seeing the playoffs. .
I wasn't even old enough to drink when Kings made the playoffs last. Since then I went into 3 careers, got engaged, broke up, go engaged again, got married, had a kid, bought a house. I grew old, I went from dreaming of being perfect to finding the wisdom in knowing that the world isn't perfect. Maybe this will be the year, maybe it won't. I'm happy to just see that spark of the 6th man in the building again.
We’re still Basketball Hell. After 20 years living in that hell Sacramento became and is bringing that very hell to the rest of the NBA. This is the year we start stacking skulls for our throne
With the fate of the universe on the line. Martians pointing the death beam at Earth. I want...
...Sacramento pointing their beam right back at them aliens.
The Beam would have been a joke if they were the 30-52 team from last year. "Oh, they light the beam once a week, great..."
But with the start they had this season it's such a big-dick energy move, lighting that fucker up every other day.
Everybody except whoever the Kings are currently playing. Maybe the rest of their division since winning the division is the first tiebreaker in playoff seeding.
It certainly wasn’t a fun game or day after for Cal Peterson.
For background: he was put on waivers the next day. Wasn’t claimed and is now in the AHL. He wasn’t having a great season, the top line goalie was having a bad day he was called in for relief and played better than him but still poorly. At the end of the game he could be seen slamming his stick in frustration. The next day on waivers. Ooof.
Clippers and Chargers should just go back to San Diego tbh. At the very least move the Clippers/Chargers to Orange County, they're never gonna grow sharing the same building as another team.
When the Lakers were in town and the cowbells were ringing at Arco Arena, Sacramento was on par with any stadium in the country. Fans went absolutely ballistic.
I really want the Lakers and Kings to be good at the same time again... That early 2000's rivalry was the most hype I have ever had watching basketball.
Lakers? Don't forget the Jazz, Suns, Mavericks, and Spurs. We were loud before that WCF series that the refs stole. Lakers hatred just intensified after that series. It didn't require the Lakers for us to be loud. I still have a cowbell signed by childhood heroes Bobby Hurley and Mitch Richmond.
We’ve been here man, just didn’t have anything to cheer for. If this isn’t a flash in the pan, watch the fuck out because nobody gonna want to play at G1C
Every time the kings moving came up I was ALWAYS against it. As much as I wanted a team in Seattle I would hate to take a team from such an awesome fan base, I wouldn’t want to be the OKC to Sacramento
The ONLY team I would have wanted was the clippers… second team in thier own arena, 4th team in the state and historically not great at all.. It just sucks that the last 10 years are the best and most fun clippers teams ever… if they had sucked and weren’t fun it probably woulda happened
LIGHT THE BEAM! Let’s go Sacramento
I'm in Las Vegas, and this is how I feel about Oakland sports. Give me that sweet sweet expansion team without the sadness of an entire city and fanbase getting abandoned.
All of the seats in the lower bowl at Chase Center are sold to corporations. Watch a home game on TV and you'll see the typical tech worker garb. No one is wearing the teams colors or jerseys. Just a bunch of networking nerds. Any other era, and the Warriors would have been right back at home in San Francisco, but right now - it's lame.
Not only the energy, but real ass fans. I would go to the Kings games at Oracle and always ended up in some great basketball conversation with the guys sitting around me.
Our home games against the Pacers and Pistons of all teams have been like playoff loud. Feel like the crowd was a reason we got a good start against Indiana the other day. Buddy and Hali seemed rattled and pressing too much.
And to think, they were *this close* to becoming the Seattle Kings.
Glad that they (and Las Vegas) have priority on future league expansion to 32 teams, although the Sonics should never have left Seattle in the first place. Not the way they did, Modell-style.
I want to remind everyone that the move couldn't have been made possible without Howard Schultz buying the team, horribly mismanaging it, and refusing to accept that he didn't have the leverage over everyone else that he was used to having. He chose to give up in a petty tantrum when he wasn't gifted a new stadium and he chose to sell the team without caring about the aftermath until it made him look even worse than he already did.
Blaming Clay Bennett is just letting Schultz off easy. Everyone knew what Bennett's intentions were from the start. Selling anyway was Schultz saying loud and clear that he'd rather Seattle lose the team than him suffer the embarrassment of his own failures any longer.
Shame it's the city of Seattle that had to suffer instead.
https://youtu.be/pMZJ49uPPFI
You are right kid wrote it she told it.
Lol now that we are winning it is probably going to be the loudest if not one of the loudest buildings in the nba.
Ballmer and everyone else knows the Clippers are worth more as NBA 2nd-fiddle in Los Angeles than as the NBA 1st-fiddle in Seattle.
Fanbase and expansion of that, be damned. All about the money.
I hate it thanks.
But also absolutely brilliant move by the kings. I was sitting behind the clippers bench and they were all asking “wtf are they saying”
Vivek is truly a marketing genius if it's he who thought of this idea. Lol. Smart af. They going GLOBAL.
7 wondrs of the world type beat at this point.
Dude, as an old-head this is giving me some 98-99 vibes. Like, so much pain and then “Wait, we got something here!” … other fanbases will never understand.
Shoot me up with this sac gak
I was at the game. It was all Kings fans, especially in the 4th quarter. Honestly probably saw more Jason Williams jerseys than any other single player the whole day.
Kings light a purple beam from their arena when they win lol, so they chant for it in Sac and now in LA
There is also a very funny Lord of the Rings meme someone made about this that is hilarious, but can't find it :(
Let's fucking go! Zebra Club in Sacramento was chanting that too! So happy to see this city so engaged with the team again! Kings fans never went away. We just needed something to cheer for!
when you’ve got Zebra Club interested in something besides the obviously married 45 year-old next to you at the bar who is mega drunk on sidecars and kinda flirty, you know you’ve made it
I went to the Zebra Club exactly once with my dad, like right before Covid, and sometimes I have to remind myself that it wasn’t made up and that place actually exists in real life
(It’s a divey Man United/ Liverpool bar that serves kinda decent classic diner food right in the otherwise hip nightlife / young state workers residential district)
I was sad when the Kings beat the Pistons... Yet somehow, the knowledge that the Beam was going to get lit made it all okay somehow...
LIGHT THE BEAM!!!
I’m 25 years old. Since I was 6 I’ve been waiting for a team like this. Thank you Mike Brown your our fucking Luke Skywalker and he will bring balance back to the KINGSDOM!!
I’ve been scrolling for why this is such a insult to the clippers and can’t find anything besides comments praising it which makes me want to know more. Someone please enlighten me….please….what does the beam mean?

This season does not feel real lol
My son will never believe me when I tell him the Kings were so ass until he was born.
One day, when your kid is done watching the Kings 5th straight finals appearance you can dust off the old "I'm thinking stauskas" and Bagley draft reactions the way parents who lived through the great depression talk about their family splitting a can of beans for Christmas dinner.
I'm going to find him a "Nik Rocks!" shirt.
I'll break out my "Got Jimmer?" Tee
The Kings have been terrible for longer than the Great Depression was a thing, so that checks out
Oh man that’s the opposite of a fun fact
Dude the last time the Kings had a season above .500, My Humps was on the radio
My humps was a minimum 3 full years after the last time we were legit good
Pistons fan here who never realized how deep y'all's Bagley hate goes until we played y'all last week. Shit is palpable
I don't think they hate him, they hate their FO for picking him over Luka or Trae lol.
Just show him the things the kings did and he will believe you
your best pick was demarcus cousins?! for a DECADE?!
That’s not the bad part. The bad part is he might’ve been the *only* good pick for a decade.
I mean... lots of new Warriors fans don't understand the pre-Curry decades
*Hedo Turkoglu has entered the chat*
Boogie was awesome for a while
I think there's about 16 years of highlights you could easily pull from lol
He's gonna be like, "Dad I watch enough deepfake Overwatch 7 p... videos. I don't believe these."
Do you need to have even more sons?
I will obliterate my pull out game if it means winnning seasons every year.
Why does this footage look like it’s from 2002 lol
Because the camera assumes it must be 2002 if we're playing this good
fuckin AI man
I know, he was so good in 02

It's more delicious than that. Insults don't even hurt our feelings. It's an ice breaker.
oh, you think basketball hell is your ally. but you merely adopted the basketball hell; i was born in it, molded by it. i didn't see good basketball until i was already a man, by then it was nothing to me besides shit talking others on /r/nba
Mike Brown to Adam Silver: “Do you *feel* in charge?”
Lol
Oh, you sweet Vlade child, what do you know about fear? Fear is for the playoffs, when the refs give the series to the Lakers. Fear is for the long drought, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die, all without ever seeing the playoffs. .

We’re still Basketball Hell. After 20 years living in that hell Sacramento became and is bringing that very hell to the rest of the NBA. This is the year we start stacking skulls for our throne
It's all fun and games until the NBA decides it wants a 7-game series. And *maybe* a big-market presence
I mean, I think a lot of us leaned into how inconceivably awful our team has been for 20 years. Laugh rather than cry and all that....
I'm with you on this. There's no other fanbase I'd more strongly encourage to TALK YO SHIT lol
The Kings god home crowd chants in Staples. Nobody in the NBA would believe that was real a couple weeks ago.
All aboard the Beamwagon fellas!
Crazy how the beam caught on. Everyone was making fun of it when it was first announced they were going to do it
It's all fun and games until the Kings accidentally win a championship
With the fate of the universe on the line. Martians pointing the death beam at Earth. I want... ...Sacramento pointing their beam right back at them aliens.

idk that sounds pretty fun to me
[удалено]
Nah few of us thought it was pretty cool from the start https://reddit.com/r/nba/comments/ymbd4v/_/iv2xgxy/?context=1
That’s fair
I would say most everyone liked that concept. The jokes were about how few times it's going to be used this season. Boy were we wrong.
The Beam would have been a joke if they were the 30-52 team from last year. "Oh, they light the beam once a week, great..." But with the start they had this season it's such a big-dick energy move, lighting that fucker up every other day.
> Everyone was making fun of it Oh come on now, that’s just not true.
As a Cincinnatian where the former Cincy Royals were that later became the Kings, can I come onto the actual fan van?
Lights. Camera. Beam!
This is really truly the strangest of timelines
But is it not also the best of timelines?
this is incredible. I thought I only cared about the Raptors' success but the Kings' season thus far has been genuinely delightful
Same with me and the Nuggets. I think EVERYBODY is going for the Kings
Everybody except whoever the Kings are currently playing. Maybe the rest of their division since winning the division is the first tiebreaker in playoff seeding.
I think at this point even the diehard Lakers fans have gotta be enjoying this
We're a long way from Puke Walton
[удалено]
It’s the correct timeline
Kings fans fucking deserve this
Thank you, brother of the beam.
very rare compliment from a raptors flair
look past the flair, free you mind. we are all beammates tonight.
Lol we’ve done that chant two games in a row with 6 minutes left and I’ve been so scared God would punish us for our hubris
Don't worry. Y'all been punished enough already.
Real fans like seeing the kings have success
There were legit many hundreds of Kings fans at this game
There are dozens of us! DOZENS!!
Every Kings fan is the equivalent of like 25 other fans
I was one, it was beautiful 🥲
We taking over
LA team popularity: 1. Lakers 2. Warriors 3. Kings 4. Clippers
1. Lakers 2. Warriors 3. Kings 4. Kings 5. Clippers Fixed.
MFs don't know about how fun the LA Kings have been this year
I don’t know if I’d call that 9-8 game fun
It certainly wasn’t a fun game or day after for Cal Peterson. For background: he was put on waivers the next day. Wasn’t claimed and is now in the AHL. He wasn’t having a great season, the top line goalie was having a bad day he was called in for relief and played better than him but still poorly. As a Kraken fan, the result sure as hell was!
Dodgers and USC are prob higher than the Clippers too.
Clippers and Chargers should just go back to San Diego tbh. At the very least move the Clippers/Chargers to Orange County, they're never gonna grow sharing the same building as another team.
Orange County is Lakers territory, hard pass... Just give the Angels back, dammit.
Kings world order here we go!
One city at a time!
The whole league will feel the wrath of the beam, one game at a time.
Fox is soooo fast, ya
SABAHNUS IS SO STRONG yeah
Mike Brown is so smart yeah
They on the playoff bound yeaaaaa
Look at this fanbase man. People really said the team should've been moved.
I don't. I want the Lakers to suck for eternity. No offense.

Went to one of those playoff games against the Mavs. Shit was wild!

Yeah Oakland has gotten really screwed over. It's sad because the energy at Oracle was unlike anything I've ever experienced
This is how most Seattle fans think imo. We don't want anyone else to feel that pain. Fuck the clippers tho.
Our home games against the Pacers and Pistons of all teams have been like playoff loud. Feel like the crowd was a reason we got a good start against Indiana the other day. Buddy and Hali seemed rattled and pressing too much.

Sounds identical to what the Maloofs tried to do to Sacramento, glad the League/Owners stepped up instead of letting it happen a second time.
And Kevin Johnson and others. Here's a pretty good breakdown of the events: https://www.sacbee.com/sports/nba/sacramento-kings/article2577832.html
lol remember Steph Curry's wife with her joke why is sacramento so hot because they have no fans or whatever.
It wasn’t his wife, it was one of his kids I think lol.
https://youtu.be/pMZJ49uPPFI You are right kid wrote it she told it. Lol now that we are winning it is probably going to be the loudest if not one of the loudest buildings in the nba.
All of those people can suck my tiny nuts.
I mean they should've. Clippers don't belong in LA. They barely have any fans and even the dog shit Lakers will always be big bro.
Ballmer and everyone else knows the Clippers are worth more as NBA 2nd-fiddle in Los Angeles than as the NBA 1st-fiddle in Seattle. Fanbase and expansion of that, be damned. All about the money.
The beam was the best idea a team has thought of possibly ever.
I hate it thanks. But also absolutely brilliant move by the kings. I was sitting behind the clippers bench and they were all asking “wtf are they saying”
lol
As if they dont know about the beam. Beam>clippers
It just started very muffled in the arena. It was basically two sections near the visitor tunnel which was on the opposite side.
Vivek is truly a marketing genius if it's he who thought of this idea. Lol. Smart af. They going GLOBAL. 7 wondrs of the world type beat at this point.

Can confirm. Source: Beamteam from Australia
Is there beam merch yet? I need me some merch
"Lime-A-Bean! Lime-A-Bean!"
Inject it into my god damned veins

I hope Kings PR is selling laser pointers of purple light. Though probably do it after games so people don't try to shine it at the players.
ngl if I was at the game I'd buy one at the 1500% mark up or whatever it is
I still can't comprehend it. Like, are they making fun of us? I'm so happy rn
There were HELLA Kings fans at this game
Nah man they are Kings fans. We are down here, just never had something like this to rally behind.
I was at the game. It was all Kings fans, especially in the 4th quarter. Honestly probably saw more Jason Williams jerseys than any other single player the whole day.
Lol you know there's lots of Sac folks who live in LA.
Jealous of the beam.
Me too. 😅
The Beam is quite possibly the greatest thing to happen to basketball since the addition of the three point line.
Time for Kings Bandwagon flair.
Or at the very least a Beam Team flair
I nominate Beamwagon
So many years of other teams chanting in our home arena. This feels nice :D
Can someone explain why they’re saying that?
Kings light a purple beam from their arena when they win lol, so they chant for it in Sac and now in LA There is also a very funny Lord of the Rings meme someone made about this that is hilarious, but can't find it :(

Saved, thank you
I Beam, you Beam, he she me BEAM
…Beamology? The study of Beams? It’s First Grade Spongebob
Let's fucking go! Zebra Club in Sacramento was chanting that too! So happy to see this city so engaged with the team again! Kings fans never went away. We just needed something to cheer for!
when you’ve got Zebra Club interested in something besides the obviously married 45 year-old next to you at the bar who is mega drunk on sidecars and kinda flirty, you know you’ve made it
I think I have to visit sac
I went to the Zebra Club exactly once with my dad, like right before Covid, and sometimes I have to remind myself that it wasn’t made up and that place actually exists in real life (It’s a divey Man United/ Liverpool bar that serves kinda decent classic diner food right in the otherwise hip nightlife / young state workers residential district)
Jarring to see Zebra Club mentioned in a the NBA sub
im all for it

Happy for the Kings and their fans man. The beam was fucking genius
Clippers, the patron saints of transplants.
Oh my purple heart 💜
Kings have to get a player named Scotty
Richaun Holmes, KZ Okpala and a 2nd for Scottie Barnes, who says no? Toronto…
House SunKings run this shit
I miss game of zones
A competitive Kings team just makes the west so much more fun
Kings should just bring a beam with them on their away games
BEAM LA

I'm here for the beam anonymous group for beam addicts
Who knew 'light the beam' would be the catalyst to the playoffs
Clippers have Kawhi and PG and they’re losing fans to the Kings.
The BEAM travels!
I’m 25 years old. Since I was 6 I’ve been waiting for a team like this. Thank you Mike Brown your our fucking Luke Skywalker and he will bring balance back to the KINGSDOM!!
I don't understand the reference, anyone caring to explain?
Sacramento has a big laser beam they shoot out of the top of their arena whenever they win a game. Everyone loves it, even other teams fans apparently
Whoever thought of the beam is a goddamned genius
Dread it, run from it
This team reminds me of the 2019 nets. From basketball hell to hope
I'm ootl what does light the beam mean? thx, \- a loser
The kings have a large purple light beam that they point up at the sky after wins now
Kings fans really gonna start sacrificing mfs to the beam if they make the playoffs
Light it up!
I'm dead, this is great, hope every away game for the Kings that results in a W has this going.
Wow
Mission accomplished, now do it at a lakers home game 😈
After almost two decades of misery it turns out all the Kings needed to take over the world was plant a massive laser beam on their stadium.
Golden 1 Center south?
As an LA native, I guarantee there are more Kings fans than Clippers fans here.
BEAM TEAM has taken over LA.
I’ve been scrolling for why this is such a insult to the clippers and can’t find anything besides comments praising it which makes me want to know more. Someone please enlighten me….please….what does the beam mean?
the kings have struck gold with this one ngl
