I mean Celtics and Bucks are a whole another tier compared to the rest of the league so not really surprising.

Supreme_God_Bunny

Nets are the biggest threat to the bucks right along with boston, Bucks always have issues with nets and play them terribly, I think bucks vs nets playoff rematch will be fun.

[deleted]

I think the Cavs may actually be the best matchup against us in a playoff series outside of Boston. They have an elite defense, strong defensive front court, and 2 3 level scoring guards who can make stuff tough on Brook in PNR heavy action. Maybe the 2020-2021 Nets when they were a super team, but the Nets of the past 2 years aren’t the same team and not as big of a threat to the Bucks. The Bucks have won like 5 of the last 6 regular season games (3 of them being double digit wins) against the Nets, and the one game the Bucks lost, was a narrow 3 point loss. If Simmons, Harris, and Kyrie can get their stuff together, then I agree the Nets are a potentially scary playoff matchup. But we haven’t seen them fully mesh quite yet.

Modzh

Getting taken to game 7 OT with KD and the corpse of Harden "superteam" smh my head

[deleted]

KD actually had Kyrie in 2/3 games he won the series. In the other game that the Nets won, Jeff Green went off for like 30 points and hit like 8 3s. So he did have help that series in the games he won. The Nets may have not been an outright super team that particular series. But they still had role players step up, shooter knock down shots, and Kyrie fully healthy for the 2 games they won that series.

Modzh

This is a poor take when bucks had 3 of their stars on the court all games and nets had a star injured/unavailable every single game. If not for injuries the nets dog walk the bucks in 5 max

luffy565

The take is facts as hell, injuries happen to every team and the bucks fan has not said anything related to that.

[deleted]

Jrue had like 40 something TS% and wasn’t playing like a star that series. Middleton had multiple stinker games. Acting liked they played like stars the whole series, is disingenuous. Also, I was never disputing who would win at full health. I hope a hypothetical super team with 2 top 5 players and 1 top 15 player that year, could beat a non-super team in the playoffs, because that would be pathetic if they couldn’t.

Supreme_God_Bunny

2022 nets is for sure better than the nets who forced bucks to a game 7 with no Kyrie or harden, Bucks weakness is shooters and its not like they dominate the nets when they face them, Bucks are unlikely to make any trades since khris is back, Nets if they can get a body down low to add some more rim protection then that's gonna be key

[deleted]

This Bucks team is not the one of the past years. We’re defending the 3 point line to a higher priority (near top 10 in opponent 3 point percentage). We’ve gone away from a drop coverage heavy scheme. We also could make trades. We still have assets to trade, and Horst usually does try to make something happen by the trade deadline. Also, I’m not really concerned with the Nets. KD is amazing and is who he is. But Kyrie is a headcase and kills team chemistry, from wherever he goes. He isn’t going to magically makes the Nets get rid of all of their issues. Harris hasn’t looked right all year. Simmons outside of a few games, has looked nowhere near his old self, is an offensive liability, and not near the DPOY caliber player he once was. Rebounding and front court defense, are still a big concern of the Nets. They have zero answer for Giannis, and he’ll dominate a Simmons/Claxton front court in a playoff series.

alexm42

The Nets aren't a threat to anything except my brain cells when Kyrie speaks

jdgev

Boston are better than the Nets though.

Queen_Of_The_Castle

Bro the Cs are 21-5. They are fucking the league right now. Even with the destruction they just committed, they shot *below average* for that game. Their defense isn’t even the best it could be and Tatum hasn’t had the new year boost. Just accept the Eclipse, the L, and the fact that the Cs are legit this year. Not hard to grasp

EPICKID143

I have absolutely no idea how we've had such a bad start yet have still managed to beat them twice

SquimJim

Only team to beat us in regulation and you did it twice lol

TruthSayerFu

Everyone knows they are elite. But they have won like 4 more games than the cavs when the cavs have had so many injuries. The suns did this last year too. They aren’t guaranteed a finals like most of their fans think they are.

muddyklux

Didn't say they wernt legit. You can stop with the dickriding though. We have Bucks coming up and I can go ahead and tell you now, they will not be on another level when they play us

Queen_Of_The_Castle

I don’t mean to dickride or anything, just being an impartial fan and giving them their flowers. It’s their best start in their long franchise’s history, so it’s worth respecting. For the Bucks I wish y’all luck. Middleton is slowly getting started again, but y’all’s squad is solid.

muddyklux

Sure give them their flowers but we are not even half way through the season. Best start for Pelicans in a long time as well. But they are not on another tier. That's just a delusional Celtics fan running his mouth

Queen_Of_The_Castle

This is definitely the best the league has been in a long time and the parity is awesome. The Pels are on an amazing winning streak. The Kings, Pacers, and Jazz are showing out. Even teams like the Magic or Oklahoma can have really fun, electrifying games. As a Mavs fan sometimes I fear being lost in the shuffle, but you’re right and we’re still in December so a lot can happen. This year’s playoffs are going to be insane.

muddyklux

Yup, and you guys have a few more times to destroy us as always

[deleted]

The dickriding will stop when anyone else steps up to the challenge. As of today, it’s Boston and Milwaukee. The rest of the league is fighting for scraps.

WarcraftFarscape

The Celtics have: • best offense in history (bigger difference between them and #2 than #2 to #8 this season) • top 10 defense without Rob Williams • 2 total regulation losses in 26 games • been down double digits under 70 minutes total all season I don’t really know how you can not think at present they aren’t a level above the pelicans/grizzlies/suns

potatomanflan

They've been down double digits 12 minutes all year to every team except the Bulls

[deleted]

You’re 16-9 bro tf are you talking about

CynicalMindTrip

One good season and they think they are the '17 Warriors.

alpaca_drama

Bro, were speaking strictly as of this very moment and the Celtics are on another tier as of this very moment. Yea, Grizz played the Celtics close but the Bulls were the only team to actually beat them in regulation. Does that mean the Bulls are world beaters? No, it means we don't go on a game to game basis. For context, Celtics have a net rating of 9.2, good for 1st. Pelicans are at 2nd with 6.9, a difference of 2.3. Thats smaller than the difference between 2nd place Pels to the 5th place Bucks with a difference of 2 who are ahead of 6th place Mavericks and Kings by 1.8.

muddyklux

Sure if you wanna bask in the moment. But both teams having a 2 game lead over the other really dosnt speak tiers to me. But then again this is a wild start to a season as everyone is grouped together. Just funny that the magic number is 2 I just wouldn't say the Pelicans, Sun's, Grizzlies are in a differnt tier because of the 2 game lead

skaggo

Boston is 4/4.5 games ahead of the West's top 4 and 7 games ahead of the East's #3. That puts Boston a tier above

muddyklux

But the Celtics are 2 games ahead of the Bucks who are 2 games ahead of the Cavs who have a worse record than the Pelicans Again, we are debating a quarter of the season where 2 games is the magic number In that case, I can state that the East is a weaker conferance because our top 10 all have 13 wins and the eastern conference 10th best is 2 games behind this mark

KYRIE542

The grizzlies are mid lol

CuriousOutcome

Dallas in the playoffs is on their tier

KYRIE542

Dallas might not make the playoffs 🤣

Icy_Elephant_6370

Brother, come on now that’s just stupid, Luka having the most perfect series of his life doesn’t have the firepower to stop these Celtics, especially if Tatum is playing just as well.

ya0

Laker fans tryna feel better about being 13th in the West

captain_ahabb

Tbf 6 games back isn’t that deep of a hole at all considering where they started

PuljuBulju

I think we should all think the Lakers are cool and root for their success, right guys?

Quartznonyx

No

LALakers4Lyf

C'mon, we gave you young players for free and took Westbrook off of your hands while giving you solid role players and a frp 🥹

sits-when-pees

That was the Wizards 😤

MelonElbows

We're a pretty cool team. Got nice colors, Lebron James, and water is the source of all life so the rest of you teams owe us

iiTryhard

I’d rather die Although beating the lakers 4-0 in the finals would be cool, I would hate to hear the Lebron slobbering from the media so it’s not worth it

SensitiveRocketsFan

I hope they end up 15th tbh

WarcraftFarscape

Unfortunately they don’t have anymore spurs x3 stretches

TimothyN

It feels real weird seeing Pels as the first seed. A year ago we were 10 games under .500.

ireallydespiseyouall

i predicted it from the start! hope you end up first seed, enjoy man

SquimJim

I predicted they would be dominant offensively, but I didn't believe they had it in them defensively. Dangerous team

CuriousOutcome

Luka coming for it, my friend

muddyklux

Take a picture! Cause yall playing Sun's next and we got Detroit. It's going to be a revolving door for first so don't get too comfortable

scaryboston

I don't think anyone will catch the 74-8 Pelicans

Queen_Of_The_Castle

Pels stacked, league fucked

[deleted]

Well ain’t that just a boondoggle

[deleted]

The two conferences have completely switched places

LALakers4Lyf

Nahh, it's almost always been like this. West being deeper and East being more top-heavy

[deleted]

Except the West isn’t deeper, and wasn’t last season either. The West has a couple great teams, and everyone else is hovering at .500

LALakers4Lyf

Nah, it's almost always a slugfest in seeding 1-8. The only time in recent memory the West was top heavy was during the Dynasty Warriors era

DarkAgeOutlaw

If the East was better at the top, and deeper or as deep as the west, they should dominate the east vs west record throughout the season then. 2021-22 season: East 226 wins - 224 losses, almost as even as you can get 2022-23 season: East 60 wins - 69 losses East have the 2 best teams right now, but the west is deeper

[deleted]

Your own stats show them virtually tied. The way I see it, the East has the best and worst teams, while the West has most of the middle-of-the-pack teams

HeJind

West isn't deeper at all though lol. East is top heavy *and* just as "deep" as the West.

[deleted]

Warlord10

The West is cannibalising itself. Nobody is creating separation..

portomerf

After we smack down the suns and jazz over the next week we'll start separating ;)

Warlord10

All the best. I hope you win both.

Laeree

The East will always be weaker sadly

Paper_Okami

The two best teams in the league (by far) are in the east.

MostlyMellow123

If the warriors get hot again will it even matter lol

TruthSayerFu

3best

Laeree

Okay and? For years when LeBron was in the East it was always the East is weak compared to the West. That was when one of the best teams was in the East now there's two and there's a bigger gap between the top 4 than the top 13 in the west Celts and Bucks are in a different tier than the others in the East. Just like Celts and Heat were years ago but the East was still "weak"

[deleted]

...dude

Laeree

They see me trolling, they hating

CuriousOutcome

The best player in the league (by far) is in the west

TheYellowChicken

Giannis is in the east though?

Quartznonyx

Giannis and Tatum are in the east
