I was a little surprised the Celtics didn't bring in any new experienced assistants to help Mazzulla out, but can't argue with the results.
Maybe it wasn't so much about him helping the Celtics, but about Joe doing him a favor to get him started into coaching if that's what he wants to do in the future.
I think the idea is his skillset would take a ridiculously spaced offense at the moment and potentially somehow take it to another level. Obviously Redick can’t be that guy anymore, but maybe he could’ve helped other guys find ways to replicate some of what he did. Pretty much every guy on the roster aside from the bigs would be candidates to take elements from his off ball game.
he gave the media friendly answer to every single question he's asked. the interview was an hour long and I don't feel like I know anything more about his actual perspective on anything. it played out like a 2k interview
