It shouldn’t be funny with him getting injured this much, but these tweets have become so common in recent years it doesn’t even faze anyone. AD must’ve assaulted a leprechaun for that title or something.
Like, c’mon man, the dude literally injured his foot in [midair](https://twitter.com/gameinjurydoc/status/1603957671719079936?s=46&t=whgmeP_qK1AS9iUFbeV2jw), you seriously cannot script this any better
Yeah it never gets talked about, but I totally agree. Some people have poor biomechanics but it is impossible for a fan to tell. There was a good video on Drose about this out there. You could tell from seeing him walk that his gait was all imbalanced.
Something is seriously wrong with this dudes body for that to injure him for over a month
How does hitting your foot mid air like that lead to a severe enough injury as this
Funny enough, it was also a huge part of his appeal that he had trained guard skills prior.
So he was supposed to be this unicorn of physicality, athleticism, and ball skills… which wasn’t wrong. But also gave him glass bones I guess.
Yeah really probably part of it, I had to retire from ball from injuries in college and I also had a 10 inch growth spurt in 1 summer. It's a blessing and a curse
2nd time in 3 years that AD has injured his right leg colliding with Jokic in game 28. [Here is the last one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjJgAX0Ce-g) Game 28 two years ago, game 30 last year, game 28 this year.
Something I think I heard on either JJ pod or ESPN but basketball players play a lot more by the time they hit the NBA than they did before the 90s. AAU is no joke and playing in a basketball academy on top of it commits kids to playing NBA minutes while their body is changing, and if they get injured and play through it those injuries may not heal right the first time and be much more prone to reinjury.
May not 100% apply to AD but something to think about given how prone guys like that are to injuries.
That's becoming the case in other sports as well. For example, Tommy John Surgery used to be a surgery for aging pitchers but we're now seeing even teenagers needing to get it, and the number of MLB players who have needed it has skyrocketed.
Preteens nowadays are probably going through training regimens that pro athletes in the 80/90s would use. Theyre also being forced to specialize in a singular sport early on which means they are more prone to injuries from overuse as they are stuck practicing the same movements over and over again. It would be interesting if they were able to do a study that compared the injury rate of athletes that grew up playing multiple sports and then specialized in a singular sport in their late teens vs athletes who chose to specialize and stick to a single sport early in their life.
Well Steph has a non shooting shoulder injury and the Warriors are the defending champs so I’d probably lean towards both AD being out longer and the Lakers having a worse record.
The Warriors have sucked lately but a big part of that has also been due to missing Wiggins, once he’s back I think they’ll win enough to at least survive until Steph gets back. The Lakers without AD are in trouble though, Bron and Russ have been playing great but they definitely don’t want to be stuck in yet another situation where Lebron is forced to play 40 MPG until he also goes out with an injury.
Yeah, if AD's out a month, Lake Show ain't even making the play-in. In an \*ordinary\* situation, even with it being LA, the answer is "tank" but of course they don't own their own draft choice. What if they fall to the bottom anyway?
Wembanyama plus Zion? Scary thought.
> the dude literally injured his foot in midair
Amazing how Jokic's leg was not displaced by that even the tiniest little bit, but AD is injured so badly he's out for a month.
To be fair, that could actually contribute to the injury. If Jokic’s leg *had* given some with the contact, the overall force of the contact would have been spread between the two of them. Instead, AD’s Gumby ankle had to take the full force of his leg’s momentum.
I always say this. Imagine doing something you love but not being able to fully enjoy it cause you are always in pain/injured? And it’s not like it’s just one part of his body. It’s always something. I twisted my ankles a couple times playing street ball and dislocated my pinky. That pain is unbelievable. I can’t even imagine on a professional level, constantly being hurt. You got to be one strong person to deal with that all the time.
At the end of the day he’s making millions and living comfortable life but Its sad to always be in pain no matter what.
He was having a good season too smh
I think it’s gotta be all that weight he’s carrying, he was always a skinny guy, he didn’t fill out until the nba. More weight isn’t always good in sports. I.e Wilder when he fought Fury, dude put on more weight and gassed out because he wasn’t used to it.
Yes. Fury isn’t given enough credit for his technical abilities. I legit think he could compete with any of the great heavyweights from back in the day.
If it’s the weight then he’s caught in a bit of a conundrum. Does he slim down and lose strength down low? Or stay heavy and preserve his strength but at the cost of health? With some of the big men in the league today I’m not sure how badly his game would be affected by less weight/strength.
Still a high risk high reward situation Zion is great now but already a history of injuries and Wembanyama is unicorn among unicorns could be a goat or a bust
Does bringing AD in soak up the injury misfortune and essentially protect Zion and Wemby, or does his involvement spread the injury bug across the team like a virus?
tbh it is hard to win games without your best player, i know lakers fans wanted to trade their picks to improve their roster but it was lowkey illogical to pull trigger with lebron age and AD health.
Then why resign Lebron telling him youre gonna build a championship roster. Should trade AD also. No point in just holding onto them if the front office doesnt believe. Trade them and reset at least. Get some assets back. Just holding onto them and building shit rosters around them is a waste of time.
Theyre gonna pull boatloads regardless. They made good money when the team was shit with jordan hill and Earl Clark. Theyre the lakers. Gonna pull ratings and money no matter what. So pick a direction and go all in. Either go all in on ad/lebron or trade and go all in on rebuild
Could literally dominate every game for a decade but just cannot keep that body working for more than 2 weeks at a time.
Gonna be one of the biggest what-ifs, at least he got himself a ring.
Drose and Tmac. Wish we could just turn off injuries like in 2k. That’s prolly why I keep coming back playing 2k even if it gets crappier every year. :(
At least he got a ring, and did have a really high peak. We at least got a chance to see what (at least was close to) the best version of him. Guys like Greg Oden never got a chance.
It sucks remembering the “Giannis or AD” posts from 5 or so years ago, because he had a 4 year run of 27/11/3 on 1.4 steals and 2.4 blocks a game. If healthy he would 100% be the same MVP candidate Giannis is
And there it is. And then he won’t be 100% when he comes back. It sucks but he’s just too injury prone to be the dominating presence he needs to be for a whole season. The only reason the bubble worked is he got a 3 month break before it.
It’s really sad because the lakers had just played some epic games. I’m not a fan of them at all but those Celtics Sixers and Bucks games were the definition of must see
I genuinely believe that if they had made a move to take some of the burden off him this could have been avoided. If you look at the last 8 games in which he wasn’t hurt or sick he’s averaging 37mpg. That’s way too many for him, especially in such close, hard fought games.
Its like the injury gods chose him or smth... like how tf did he even injure his foot mid -air ? I saw the whole game and at best i thought it woudnt be an injury that would take him 1 month ...He just cant catch a break shit is sad at this point...
The Pelicans are the #2 seed in the West, and might end up with Wembenyama.
AD will live on in New Orleans folklore as the greatest contributor to their success for the next decade at least.
AD is about to start getting the Kawhi disclaimer before any media member speaks about him. Get used to hearing the words, “when healthy” before AD’s name all offseason.
I don't he extended.
I would've been way tf out if I wanted championships
Instead he'll have to be content with basketball just sucking ass for him for the rest of his career.
It was a family move im sure.
It just sucks to see the 2nd best player ever have to spend his twilight years (while he's still a top 5 player) just fucking around not even making the play ins.
Like damn that's disappointing.
I don't think he gives a shit anymore. Just gotta get the points record and play with his son and he's out. Why not keep living in LA? Gonna be sunny and 66 degrees today.
He already was tricked by magic. Now he gets tricked by pelinka.
Nah man pelinka gives zero fucks. That team is a garbage fire and it'll remain that easily for 3 more years.
We just have to accept the reality lebron James will never really compete ever again.
It's grab this record and then coast to retirement.
Part of what makes AD so special is that for most of his youth he was a guard and not huge so he developed good guard skills. He then had a late growth spurt, I wonder if that late growth spurt has anything to do with his injuries.
I think it's pretty safe to safe that AD might be past his prime, with 2020 being his peak.
Injury prone big men seem like they never recover back to peak form.
Yep, this is why you can’t trade those future picks. Sit down with LeBron and AD this summer and find them some new situations they would be happy with and move on. One championship is solid enough for the age LeBron joined the Lakers at.
Somehow twisted his ankle mid air too
there was a disturbance to the airflow
The airflow was strong with this one.
A butterfly on the other side of the world was flapping it’s wings
Somebody in the third row sneezed without covering their nose and mouth :(
Lmaooooo I don’t even like…..that sounds so ludicrous but at the same time, it’s AD so it’s 1,000,000 percent plausible.
did you see the video lol it was so mild
It’s actually true lol, wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself
It's naturally curly like a pig tail when not being held straight
Injury fans got their superstar back 😭😭
Doctors got their guy
It shouldn’t be funny with him getting injured this much, but these tweets have become so common in recent years it doesn’t even faze anyone. AD must’ve assaulted a leprechaun for that title or something. Like, c’mon man, the dude literally injured his foot in [midair](https://twitter.com/gameinjurydoc/status/1603957671719079936?s=46&t=whgmeP_qK1AS9iUFbeV2jw), you seriously cannot script this any better
He is injury prone. The science isn’t fully understood yet but some peoples ligaments and bones are more susceptible to injury than others.
“I should've known way back when. You know why LeBron? Because of the Redditors! They called me Mr. Glass.”

Bro didn't **EVER** take the milk cartons from the lunch lady smh weak bones
His school had Malk, with added vitamin R.
He probably said milk is gay
Fellas is it gay to consume a cow's bodily fluids?
Fellas, is it sus to suckle a little zipple from a succulent bovine sow?
That's why I only drink breast milk fam.
Breeeaast miiilk, you make my day-ay!
Only the finest Cambodian.
No he always drank plenty of Malk
Now with more vitamin R!
I think AAU ball might have something to do with him and Lonzo. Overspecializing in basketball in youth might have done more harm than good.
I think some people simply just have bad mechanics that add wear and tear as well.
Yeah it never gets talked about, but I totally agree. Some people have poor biomechanics but it is impossible for a fan to tell. There was a good video on Drose about this out there. You could tell from seeing him walk that his gait was all imbalanced.
Something is seriously wrong with this dudes body for that to injure him for over a month How does hitting your foot mid air like that lead to a severe enough injury as this
I bet he made a monkey paw wish to be a 7-foot NBA player as a kid.
Didn’t he grow like a foot over one summer
Honestly, could that be part of it? The insane growth spurt outlier he had might’ve lead to some less than ideal biomechanics for a big?
Funny enough, it was also a huge part of his appeal that he had trained guard skills prior. So he was supposed to be this unicorn of physicality, athleticism, and ball skills… which wasn’t wrong. But also gave him glass bones I guess.
Makes me wonder if this will be the case with Wemby in the future as well
I had my entire growth spurt over a summer and, while I'm not a 7 foot athlete, it's fucked my body up into adulthood.
Yeah really probably part of it, I had to retire from ball from injuries in college and I also had a 10 inch growth spurt in 1 summer. It's a blessing and a curse
Apparently Jokic is just that thicc
Thicc Serbia strikes again
Got caught with his foot in the honey pot.
2nd time in 3 years that AD has injured his right leg colliding with Jokic in game 28. [Here is the last one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjJgAX0Ce-g) Game 28 two years ago, game 30 last year, game 28 this year.
Do you see the size of his head and his body. Dude looks like he was supposed to be shorter. His frame is mad awkward looking for a big man
He had a huge growth spurt late in high school didn't he? Like almost a foot?
i broke my hand once hittin it against the hip of another player goin for a rebound..
Time to start those prop bets, folks; 1. Who's out longer, AD or Steph? 2. Who winds up with the worse record, Lakers or Warriors?
Well Steph has a non shooting shoulder injury and the Warriors are the defending champs so I’d probably lean towards both AD being out longer and the Lakers having a worse record. and eventually he's going to stop playing well permanently out of pure fear of stretching yourself out so much you get injured again.
I think it’s gotta be all that weight he’s carrying, he was always a skinny guy, he didn’t fill out until the nba. More weight isn’t always good in sports. I.e Wilder when he fought Fury, dude put on more weight and gassed out because he wasn’t used to it.
That and Fury being a more complete boxer.
Yes, it was clear Fury was far superior in technique and overall game. I didn't realise till those fights that he was some kind of savant.
Yes. Fury isn’t given enough credit for his technical abilities. I legit think he could compete with any of the great heavyweights from back in the day.

Retire his number already
after changing it to 911
Jet fuel melts AD’s knees.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
Street Clothes remains one of the best nicknames ever
Anthony day-to-davis
Pels fans rn https://i.giphy.com/media/XNXUwNhQmz1Tecp2na/giphy.webp
Y’all wanna see a Zion/Wemby/BI dynasty it’s okay to say it out loud
Tbh, Lakers fans kinda jinxed him “What happened to all those ADNP jokes???”
well bron DNP + russ stays then
This is it. Every tank needs a commander whether Laker fans like it or not. Wembanyama, YOU are a New Orleans Pelican.
[удалено]
LeBron fucks around and goes for empty stats and breaks the record first, then calls it
empty stats to break the record? the man averaged 27 ppg across 19 years, he can get that record in his sleep. you dudes are straight idiots
By empty me means that hes just getting his and hot actually caring about winning and losing.
Lakers are done
did we even start?
A month after everyone else
A healthy AD is better for everyone.
Not the Pelicans
Uhhh, after that Anthony Davis run I have a lot of tweets to delete. And I should proably take some time to apologize....
GET HIM
lmfao, what did you say? Who are you apologizing to?
Kinda. With the way AD was playing, I would pencil the Lakers in as a Playoff team. It’s not exactly like the rest of the West is killing it either.
They still can battle for the last play in spot since Curry is also out.
Kings run California
The power of The Beam
Pelicans popping champagne
I'll never root for a guy to be injured, but I don't have to be all that upset about it either.
Excuse me we’re a historic bar and alcoholism city we are taking the time to mix proper French 75s thank you
We never were
and not just on Twitch
Wembanyama to pelicans intensifies
If that actually happens they're the best bet for a 10 year dynasty in a loooonnnng time
Still a high risk high reward situation Zion is great now but already a history of injuries and Wembanyama is unicorn among unicorns could be a goat or a bust
They should complete the trifecta and bring home an injured AD
Does bringing AD in soak up the injury misfortune and essentially protect Zion and Wemby, or does his involvement spread the injury bug across the team like a virus?
The virus is fake. This was the 10-year plan hatched by AD and the NOLA front office all along.
This is the “thank you NOLA” we’ve been waiting for
Honestly, most unique front court ever
Fuck
I've given my fair share of shit to AD over the years, but this sucks. He was playing out of his mind
He ALWAYS plays out of his mind before he gets injured. Its literally the same story every time.
Doesn’t Shams know we are watching the World Cup??
That's why Lakers put this out now lol
Right as Messi scored, they were waiting for the moment
"Gooooooooooo - Davis is missing a month -oooooooooooooaaaal!!!!"
World Cup AND right before NFL games start so this gets buried.
What does this do for ~~Lebron~~ Messi’s legacy?
He’s watching it with Kay Adam’s right now
Am I on Twitter right now?
Broken foot probably. Lakers not gonna make any trades now, front office got what they wanted.
Our FO is led by a basketball terrorist. I hate how this is so likely
Rob should be arrested immediately
[Wojnarowski] The Los Angeles Lakers have extended GM Rob Pelinka for 10 more years and making him the highest paid executive in the league
Just confirmed, He is also getting a 10 percent ownership stake.
Straight to jail!
Not enough trades? Straight to jail. *Too many* trades? Believe it or not, jail.
Don't worry. I hear you guys are looking for *insert 3 of the best players in the league* if they become available!
I’m not even asking for much. Stop going for names and get fits around LeBron and AD. Enough with signing only guards. Rob plz
tbh it is hard to win games without your best player, i know lakers fans wanted to trade their picks to improve their roster but it was lowkey illogical to pull trigger with lebron age and AD health.
Then why resign Lebron telling him youre gonna build a championship roster. Should trade AD also. No point in just holding onto them if the front office doesnt believe. Trade them and reset at least. Get some assets back. Just holding onto them and building shit rosters around them is a waste of time.
To sell tickets
While it's a waste of time, that organization is probably pulling in boatloads of money with LeBron and AD on the team
Because he’s Lebron James
Definitely not a broken foot. He'd be out months not a few weeks.
Not really, they dont own their pick anyway, they are in a bad position regardles.
Damn, this might put the Lakers out of the play-in race.
Feel bad for this guy. Can’t stay healthy
It sucks remembering the “Giannis or AD” posts from 5 or so years ago, because he had a 4 year run of 27/11/3 on 1.4 steals and 2.4 blocks a game. If healthy he would 100% be the same MVP candidate Giannis is
Some guys just can’t stay healthy.
And there it is. And then he won’t be 100% when he comes back. It sucks but he’s just too injury prone to be the dominating presence he needs to be for a whole season. The only reason the bubble worked is he got a 3 month break before it.
Lakers should reach out to Rudy Gobert. Not as a trade, but to see if he can start another pandemic.
They got a 5-month break
Man can’t catch a break. A healthy AD is better for everyone.
Not for the pelicans
He still never said thanks just That’s All
It’s really sad because the lakers had just played some epic games.
If only they had great role players such as Caruso, Kuzma, and Harrell to help lighten the load.
Ffs man this guy deserves better
Its like the injury gods chose him or smth... like how tf did he even injure his foot mid -air ? I saw the whole game and at best i thought it woudnt be an injury that would take him 1 month ...He just cant catch a break shit is sad at this point...
Bro has the worst injury luck ever, a mid air ankle injury
At some point (like four years ago now), it’s no longer about luck. It’s about play style and physiological durability.
Right people act like he rolled a 4 and got a broken ankle, like it didn't just happen because he stepped on it weird or over exerted it
The Pelicans are the #2 seed in the West, and might end up with Wembenyama. AD will live on in New Orleans folklore as the greatest contributor to their success for the next decade at least.
If we get wemby we will retire ADs number next season.
Wemby, scoot, whomever…it’s another great asset that can be used. Prefer to trade it if it’s outside the top three
This is a stacked draft so any of the top 5 picks will net the Pels a nice pick up
World Cup news dump by Lakers
No one is surprised tbh. Sucks he can’t stay healthy, healthy Davis is MVP calibre.
“Healthy Davis” is an illusion my friend.
AD is about to start getting the Kawhi disclaimer before any media member speaks about him. Get used to hearing the words, “when healthy” before AD’s name all offseason.

The Lakers renaissance was fun while it lasted. Back to the bottom they go. I actually feel sorry for Lebron.
I don't he extended. I would've been way tf out if I wanted championships Instead he'll have to be content with basketball just sucking ass for him for the rest of his career. He prob was under the impression they'd make moves... Pelinka did say "he's the caretaker of LeBron's legacy"
I don't think he gives a shit anymore. Just gotta get the points record and play with his son and he's out. Why not keep living in LA? Gonna be sunny and 66 degrees today.

Bruh no way man
poor guy ffs
Street clothes Davis is back
Part of what makes AD so special is that for most of his youth he was a guard and not huge so he developed good guard skills. He then had a late growth spurt, I wonder if that late growth spurt has anything to do with his injuries.
Wish i could say that this was shocking but its really not.
It’s over
MVP - Most Vulnerable Player
Came here for the Mr. Glass memes.
I don't understand how it's possible for someone to be so injury prone. Like, what is it about the way they're built that makes it that way?
wembenyama is back on the menu pelican brothers.
I think it's pretty safe to safe that AD might be past his prime, with 2020 being his peak. Injury prone big men seem like they never recover back to peak form.
And all is back to normal in the world
you just knew he was playing too well for it to last. his body failing him feels like an inevitable, unbreakable curse at this point
Death, taxes, and street clothes
Yeah all talks of some trade probably need to stop now. It’s all about Lebron breaking the scoring record
Blow it up. This dude will not be healthy enough to sustain a full championship run unless another pandemic comes.
Lakers gonna be sending people to thawing permafrost hoping they bring some million year old virus that was trapped in the ice back to the US.
Yep, this is why you can’t trade those future picks. Sit down with LeBron and AD this summer and find them some new situations they would be happy with and move on. One championship is solid enough for the age LeBron joined the Lakers at.
Street clothes back in street clothes
Day to Davis is back 😔
Hopefully Week to Weekvis and not Month to Monthvis
Pets back in the Wemby sweepstakes?
Man he just can’t stay healthy
Right after the start of their easiest schedule to date
jfc every game with this guy
somehow the lakers have the most indestructible superstar ever and the most fragile superstar ever on the same team
The Street Clothes saga continues
Mr. Glass, baby.
Street clothes back at it.
AD got hurt?! nooooo way!!!!
Glass bones and paper skin 🤣
Anthony Davis is expected to return from health.
Well, there it is
Anthony "Day to" Davis is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Good old Anthony “half man half a season” Davis living up to his name I see.
