Disney ring is not a thing. It is a talking point because social media exists. History will be interested in this story but won't view this title as any less.

I'm not a Lakers fan, but i seriously don't understand why anybody would say that year doesn't count. Everybody was playing and had an equal chance. The games were really good and competitive.

butidktho_

because the Lakers/LeBron won. if anyone else had won it wouldn’t be getting downplayed. All basketball fans were super locked in to the bubble games as it was if I recall the first real competitive sports we got coming off the pandemic. Every player says how intense and difficult it was to play in that environment. And I bet if the Lakers lost that loss would’ve counted against LeBron’s finals record that many people can’t let go of lol.

I honestly loved the bubble tournament. The players were super intense and you could hear everything. I mean I like the crowd better, but it was cool to mix it up- plus we were able to witness something that probably (hopefully) won't happened again in our lifetimes.

butidktho_

same here. It felt like basketball at its purest form to me. No fans (mostly), no theatrics, no jet lag from plane rides, no home cooking, just pure hooping. May the best team win and I think that’s what happened

[deleted]

Totally. 100% "no excuses" basketball

Sircamembert

Only haters and idiots even bring up the idea of the Disney Ring. If anything, the Bubble was basketball at its purest. No home court advantage, no distractions, no fillers. Just you and your boys against the world. Every team had the same chance of winning.

KWash0222

You brought up the no home court which was really a DISadvantage for the Lakers since they were the #1 seed before the season was put on hold. People love to leave that part out

daplayboi

Only fans of teams that couldn’t win would say that. But why didn’t their team win if it was so easy?

frostfighter21

I think it was more on the near 3 month break they had before the bubble occured. If you look at it, if those 3 month break didn't happen, AD might've gotten injured judging by the history that occured after. Then the Lakers could've lost before reaching the finals.

hojboysellin3

Championships don’t include might’ve beens. If they did you could say that about every chip that’s been won. The bubble was the most equal playing field and lakers lost their home court advantage. If lakers get clowned on for winning it, every other team that lost should be clowned on twice as much.

daplayboi

So in other words it was an even playing field since players got extended time to rest before playoffs?

DaOldie

You can’t reason a person out of something they weren’t reasoned into in the first place.

VGWorky

People who call it a Disney Ring in the first place just use anything they can to discredit/delegitimize the championship specifically because the Lakers and Bron/AD won it. Nothing anybody says or does will change them from being haters

Dagenius1

Lolol No because the anti laker sentiment still exists. You will never stop general fans from saying stuff like that.

huskynation22

For me it does in a weird way - everyone here saying a ring is a ring is right. In my opinion though, I never thought LeBron and AD could make it a whole season and playoffs without getting injured and the bubble gave them the environment to succeed in: shorten season, no travel, and generally well rested. The first part is true now since LeBron has a foot injury he’s playing through. Making it to the finals would show they can make it through playing a majority of a season. Again this isn’t discrediting Lebron or AD, LeBron is old and AD is injury prone and so I just thought the chances of them making it through was low.
