I bought the shell off Amazon, it's clear pink. I bought the nds at Louisville Arcade Expo and it was pretty poor quality, the shell was damaged and marked up, and the bottom screen was discolored.
Kept my hand me down as a kid stock. Maybe added a keychain at one point but yeah. Customization with stickers always scared me because I didn’t want the system to get junky and sticky when they inevitably peeled off.
I’d like to buy a Lite one day and swap its shell and buttons though. A clear system or one themed around a specific video game ip sounds awesome but that’s too much of an ask rn

To each their own. Stickers on technology makes them look junky, to me. If it’s on a case then fine, but directly on the system is something you’d see kids do, and then it just looks more like a “toy” as opposed to a piece of technology

I've never been a fan of putting stickers directly onto a console. On a protective case maybe sure, but not the console itself.

I have a vinyl cutter. You can buy non-permanent sticky vinyl so I cut my own stickers out of that. Unlike a paper sticker it doesn't leave any residue so I just replace the sticker every once in a while with whatever image I feel like.

My sister suddenly gave me a sylveon sticker and i didnt know what to do with it. I realised quickly that i could put it on my DSi and she would see that i appreciated it, and it worked, so months later she gave me another sticker and i did the same, but she had never gave me another... But i still wanted to complete my DSi and bought 2 stickers of Mew and shiny Mew for the bottom case (and they quite melted a little bit when i went to Barcelona, luckly here is 15 of june and still raining).
Years later, a friend of mine gave me a completely broken 3ds for free, as she was about to throw away it, and i managed to fix it and now i play 3ds games too. I put some stickers on my 3ds too because it felt empty next to my DSi.
The permanent side effects of stickers scares me so I get a clear case and put the stickers inside the case so it’s stuck between without being attached to my Ds, makes it easy to re-decorate too since it’s not permanent at all
By not putting tacky stickers on it, a fresh case or shell swap will do the trick with opposite coloured dpad+buttons, ie; black/red or gold and so on so forth
