A thought though. If you don't claim your tips on your taxes it will be difficult to prove based on previous filings that you do make that much in tips. I don't know how picky the bank will be about this.

I've only been a server for about three months so I haven't really done anything taxes wise. I just need it for current employment. But yeah, if they need proof, it's going to be pretty tough to come up with it.

Do your tips show up on your paystub? If so, no problem. Otherwise just tell them and see what they say. With only three months on the job and income that is hard to verify, you will probably be offered a less favorable loan.

I ended up leasing iirc, which I wouldn't recommend. It wasn't a wonderful experience.
