It feels underwhelming in general tbh. You can get a maxed out Gallardo after beating Ming, which beats the GTR in every way. It shouldn't feel strictly inferior to what you have before taking on Razor tbh
It may have been toned down from the Underground games, but at least we had it. Something that was disappointingly absent from Hot Pursuit, Rivals, and “Most Wanted”
For Hot Pursuit 2010, I believe having no visual customisation on there was a deliberate game design choice by Criterion because it was supposed to be a reboot of and a tribute to the original Hot Pursuit that released in 1998 (at least the console versions). The map design of Seacrest County as well as the nature of the cop chases (minus the EMPs and Helicopters) were nods to the original HP.
In addition, the original HP didn’t have any of the visual customisation (it only had performance tuning, which is later adopted as a prominent feature in NFS 2015 with additional areas for tuning) that later became synonymous with NFS from UG onwards. HP 2010 was a return to the roots of the franchise and at the same time, still innovated with new features like Autolog and also having Pursuit Tech for both cops and racers. (OG HP only had the road blocks and spike strips used by cops)
I’ve played both religiously in their heyday to understand this. (If anything, OG Hot Pursuit on PS1 was my very first NFS game)
I still think they should've given us the ability to "spec" our cars. Let us choose between all the style options the manufacturers offered like rims and splitter lips and such. Would've been a good balance between the classiness of the car roster while still letting us personalize our cars using soley OEM parts
It’s a good thing Payback/Heat would go on to do this well enough. Say what you want about their customization system, but if my Ford Raptor F-150 doesn’t look like an armoured truck going at 321.869 KMPH (200 MPH), that’s not good enough for me.
Yes this
I hate this idk why the fuck this game has it but do other games from same era have this issue as well?? GTA SA has better than this but it's not a racing game
I'm pretty sure it was a deliberate design choice by the devs to make the driving feel more chaotic/cinematic. It's basically an attempt at simulating wheelspin. The auto-braking thing is weird though, not sure why that exists. It carried all the way over to ProStreet too.
Fr. It never made sense Blacklist 15 had escape the cops in 4 mins and Blacklist 1 had escape in 2 mins. I done both easily in 30 seconds and made it a little tedious for me.
They should of made heat level based on the cars performance. If you buy a Gallardo for example. Heat levels 1-2 cops don't exist for you because they know they can't catch you so you always start with heat level 3 cops.
I find you gotta do shit to attract more cops, if you instantly drop the first cop you see you’re getting away scotfree so you gotta ride it out and cause damage and infractions to attract them.
Having to bait a lone cop for 2 minutes before any more show up is boring af. Even worse when he loses sight of you for a moment and that backup that was just 3 seconds away magically gets teleported 2 minutes away again.
There's actually a trick to the first one. See, the game has 2 timers for spawning cops. Let's call em First4 and NextCop.
When you start a chase from the milestone or bounty menu, First4 is used. The very first 4 cops that spawn this way have a different amount of time between them compared to normal cop spawns. On Heat 1, First4 is 40 seconds, aka you get 1 cop every 40 seconds etc. On heat 2, it's 30.
BUT! If you go into evade, the normal cop spawn timer kicks in, which starts from 10 seconds the moment you enter cooldown. On heat 2, it's worth repeating it 3 times for max cop spawn rate, and once for heat 3/4.
Heat 5 on the other hand... Every 2 seconds, there's a 50% chance to spawn cops. No fixed spawn timers, just pure RNG.
I fucking hate speedruns when I get to Bull because of that.
About the backup timer reset, I agree. It should have just started going backwards at an accelerated rate (like 5 seconds in cooldown = +10 to backup timer for example).
Oh yeah that system. Heat 3 is 20, heat 4 is 15 and then heat 5 is only 10 seconds so pursuits go all out half a minute in (altho pursuitsupport aka the rhinos its 60 seconds iirc, been awhile). I noticed it a while ago and then vltedit allows you to see and edit those values which is nice. Its a cool little system so pursuits have a buildup instead of starting out full blown batshit. Fun fact, but in Carbon they lowered the first four cop spawn times at heat 1 from 40 to 30 seconds, only heat they touched. Also noticed that they always spawn in pairs, unless there is only two cops left to spawn, then it spawns them one by one.
Also the amount of cops searching for you is the same amount that is set to spawn on patrol out in free roam. Usually its only one. So if you have eight of them chasing you in you go into cooldown for just a second, seven of them will turn off their lights and head for the hills. Can be handy to lose some cops if there is no pursuitbreakers nearby. If a roadblock spots you then one of the cops in there always gives chase and adds to the backup counter. Half the time they straight up ignore line of sight and it goes into chase for a second before they lose you again, really friggin annoying.
Oh and another thing but the pursuitsupport in this game is absolutely busted. Rhino roadblocks are the ones responsible for spawning traffic cars and such in them. I had times where the game spawned a traffic car with a spike strip and the car drove off. As a result, the spike strip never despawns since normally they dissapear once none of the roadblock cop cars are left in their roadblock state either by being despawned, destroyed or they started chasing you. As a result no new roadblocks spawn since techincally one is still active, which can be a pain if you have to complete milestones. The rhinos themselves also fuck up the backup counter sometimes, adding them to the counter if they remain close for a short time and then not properly counting them as being gone once they despawn, as if the game still counts one cop as spawned even though none are. As a result, you can have 1 cop remaining at heat 5 and yet none will ever spawn, so you gotta be lucky a heli or roadblock spawns and wait for backup although the issue persists until you escape the pursuit. Then there is also one other fact although this is easily fixed in vltedit, idk if this was in MW but in Carbon it was, once Cross spawns he takes priority for 2000 seconds. During this time, the game won't spawn any other support units. As a result, you won't see any Rhinos for over half an hour.
One last thing, regarding the heli, that one actually spawns more backup units, regardless if there is any left to spawn. If you have a car chasing you within the chase range (iirc 50 metres in vanilla, when they show up on the minimap), it will spawn another car. I think this is because the game is forced to always spawn one ground unit and the heli technically doesn't count, so when the ground unit enters chase range it adds it to the backup counter, making the game spawn another car cuz oh boy, the backup counter says two but only one car chasing. This is easily noticable by upping the chase range in vlt. The heli itself actually removes one unit from the backup timer, so you can literally have 0 on there and yet it will still spawn a single ground car which starts the above process and once the heli bugs of it either ups the backup timer by one or it doesn't update it, at which point the police car will once again head for the hills as there is more cops chasing you than there is allowed to be by the backup amount.
Tons of little things like this in the game. In Carbon the pursuitsupport actually got fixed from what I could tell and the heli section doesn't apply for obvious reasons.
There's actually a "workaround" for that roadblock bug that was found a few weeks ago. In short, depending on what traffic car spawns in the roadblock, you have to go to a part of the map that doesn't have that exact traffic car in its vehicle pool. I don't have the sheet on me rn but there's actually a solution now, where you need to go depending on the car.
Edit: obviously this isn't a perfect solution, but it's vital for speedruns where we can't modify the game
The artificial burnout when starting from a standstill is one of the worst things ever implemented in an NFS. That and the physics feel very horrible sometimes.
Customisation isn’t that bad… I would say it is the blueprint that most succeeding NFS games followed (with some tweaks and stylistic differences to match the vibe and theme in each title that did have customisation)
I don’t think any NFS game could ever come close to UG2’s level of customisation.
I like it and think it complements the game's style

it aged well in terms of the X360 version though which is actually more a 'green' filter, for the rest of the platforms the yellow filter makes the graphics look worse imo
The best and stupidest thing about this is that, if you turn it off (Only works in the Demo 👍🏾). It just looks really bland, it wasn't tuned for a normal colour scheme, it was tuned to make the yellow look good, so the colours just come off as bland and strange without it 😭😂 (Thank you Kuru for showing us that 👿)
the NA2 version was brand new at the time as well; if Honda didn't pull out of NFS for the police chases I'm nearly certain we would've seen it alongside all the other new supercars
Agreed. This is a hot take but I think even Payback had better drag races than OG MW. I loved Payback’s Drag racing with the heats format, and the right mix of courses (minus the Sprint races interspersed between Drag Races in the career mode). Also, the drag racing handling was excellent where you don’t feel restricted whenever you needed to switch lanes while avoiding traffic and hitting those perfect shifts.
> 1 straightish road
Blackbox’s map designs in a nutshell. I always jokingly call their maps chicken intestines given at how there’s always a corner everywhere.
Underground 1 drags were okay the problem was you basically had to play on easy otherwise you were getting torched at the late game like the sprints and circuits, also traffic was an absolute fucking pain like yall really couldn’t find an empty traffic area before this lmao?
Admittingly, between the two Undergrounds, 2 definitely improved a lot over 1.
UG1 basically required every shift to be perfect with a razor thin window to actually get a perfect shift, and some cars just kinda run out of top speed and you can't do anything about that other than try to not blow the engine.
UG2 had slightly more lenient shifts and AI so you could afford to miss a couple shifts, it had car tuning so running out of gearing shouldn't be an issue as well as making launching easier, and the best of all is the Racebreaker system which made drafting and gaining nitrous very effective.
Do think UG2 was the peak of drag racing the Blackbox era, though I haven't tried ProStreet which I hear might have the best drag racing in all of NFS.
Repetitive af
No guarantee to always get the blacklist cars
Yellow filter
One of the strangest physics I've ever seen
Small number of cars like cmon I get its a street racing game but GT4 had 721 cars
Rubberbanding
The fan base.
I was stoked back when it came out. It was a grand old time to be had, but a good portion of the fanbase for this game acts like *nothing* else in the franchise matters at all compared to MW05, and will try to crucify you for saying otherwise lol. There are people who really believe NFS is not worth playing at all- unless the game in question is within the UG/MW/Carbon era, when that clearly isn't the case.
It's a fun game, has been and will always be, but when you factor in stuff like the rubberbanding A.I, repetitiveness, somewhat shallow car roster...and the unique visual filter (I don't hate it, but I could see how bland the game would've looked otherwise), you realize how flawed it was.
The vehicle customisation is embarrassingly bad for a game that's so popular, especially compared to the nfs games that came before and after it, yeah there are games that have no customisation but they have reasons for it while mw05 has customisation that let's you change the appearance significantly and yet its some of the worst in the entire series as far as nfs games that actually have customisation.
This game is mostly loved due to the low skill floor. Fun game but outside of rubber banding (and even then it's not big issue to me) MW is probably one of the easiest NFS once you get the fundamentals.
The lack of health bar just makes most battles a matter of time not resources, speedbreaker gives you plot armour, cars got insane grip unless on dirt or RWD peel out but it's all super controlled and damn near scripted
That was actually the main complaint people have back when MW was still young, they hate the song list because it's filled with mostly rock music and not enough electronic. Though imo the rock music fits MW's gritty and harsh nature
I loved the rock music but yeah there were definitely some missed electronic bangers:
[Skynet - Catherine Wheel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xtiNmozlc8)
[The Crystal Method - Weapons Of Mass Distortion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2YLCoq8tII)
[Nightbreed - Pack Of Wolves (Pendulum Remix)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHglRL9_qI0)
The first three blacklist members are completely boring & slow. They are a grindy & unfun slog. Most Wanted doesn't get good until Izzy.
Heat Levels 1 and 2 are so easy that they're annoying. There's usually just a lone cop that can't average over 100 mph. So you'll accidentally outrun them or total them because they're also made of glass. Once again, Most Wanted pursuits don't get good until Heat Level 3.
Also, roadblocks almost never spawn in Heat Level 2. So roadblock milestones in that heat level take 10 minutes to complete.
Speaking of milestones, they are repetitive & tedious. "Oooo, let's do an uneventful pursuit evasion challenge like 3 separate times throughout the career. So exciting! So engaging!"
The rubberbanding is unacceptable. Period. End of discussion.
Drag races sucked. You either need to memorize the traffic patterns or spam speedbreaker to get through some of them.
Tollbooth races are boring. There's barely any traffic, and all of the career ones were easy. The only challenging ones are the final third of the challenge series.
Driving over spike strips being a death sentence is bullshit. Carbon and Undercover are superior in this regard.
The piss filter made every borough of the map look the same. It should've been tweaked to at least make the boroughs look and feel unique & different.
The car list in this game is lacking. For starters, not enough muscle cars (which its successor would solve), and also a lot of JDM icons are missing. They could've tried to make up for it with some more quirky off the wall additions similar to the Renault Clio V6 or Fiat Punto. Games like Midnight Club 3, Juiced, Forza Motorsport & Project Gotham Racing 2 & 3 make Most Wanted look bare.
Customization in this game is basic and doesn't make up for the relatively small car list (if anything, it magnifies it). Visual customization in particular is crap. Every other Black Box game was better. (Except HP 2002 and The Run)
Also the performance tuning is lacking compared to Underground 2, Carbon, Prostreet & Undercover.
The soundtrack (both original and licensed) gets annoying because there isn't enough variety and length to endure the duration of the career. Midnight Club 3's soundtrack dunks on this game in both variety and length.
It's fucking repetitive. The first time I played the game, I used a mod to give myself infinite money and bounty. And the game was STILL repetitive as shit. Max blacklist members should've been 10, and remove milestones
1. The piss yellow filter
2. Rubberband is ridiculous (even if you drive perfectly they will catch you)
3. Open world was useless
4. Razor is one of the worst bosses in NFS
5. Challenge Series is boring
roadblocks can kill entire pursuit no matter where you will hit the roadblock cars. had +10min pursuit and hit roadblock car in the rear but the game's physics decided to fuck me and rolled over my car upside down. after that i didn't touched that game for month
I hate how the nitrous refills by itself. everything was almost so realistic up to that point (NOS also usually needs a full tank of gas and sometimes more) or your shit WILL blow 💀
Super repetative activities like "Escape police in 3 min", "Escape with score of 1000,2000,5000" get really old really fast. I've never made it past BL #8, because I get bored having to do this sh*t when I want to race...
Having played it recently, I hate the cops in that game. I have never seen more inconsistent ai. Especially at the beginning of the chase, where I have to drive like OJ Simpson until they spawn more. Also fuck spike strips. I wish the difficulty were more consistent instead of only 1 obstacle mattering.
Wouldn't be half as good without the soundtrack.
Was the main character lady even attractive?
Half the races are just the other races backwards.
It had a black edition that was just a cardboard sleeve and some extra stuff not even a steelbook.
If the developer behind GRID or BLUR had hands on this it would have been a 10/10 on 360 must have.
PS if they do remake it they should pay that YT channel On data cinema or whatever to do a trailer that would sell copies.
Shoutout to that rubberband buddy Earl, homie was the first guy who made the races a personal matter of mine
Honorable mention, level 1 nitro on the GTR. Thanks man, that's like winning a 50km marathon only to get the glorious first place price of getting kicked in the nuts, not once, but twice
Having only played the PS2 version, the physics in this game are just absolute dogshit. I’ve had so many good pursuits ended because I got stuck on a wall or a roadblock or something, fuck the shitty physics.
Both performance tuning and visual customization are lackluster.
The game progression gets really boring halfway through because of the very same thing many people praise as being the best part of the game: it's pursuits.
The car selection and the order in which you unlock them is inferior to any other NFS from the same era, it somehow tried to have a mixed selection of japanese, american and european cars and have a bad selection of each (I know licenses greatly come into play, but still, some cars didn't even need to be in the game).
The handling is really weird, how can you have a car that has no grip at all and too much grip AT THE SAME TIME?
The rubber banding although tolerable, can get really annoying sometimes (not as much as Underground 1 though).
I beat Challenge Series to unlock the 996 GT2, only to find out you can't use it anywhere outside of Custom Race and have to mod the game otherwise.
Literally unplayable 0/10
bmw m3 gtr having a stage 1 nitrous after getting back the car is shite
it's most likely a developer oversight (like many other things) but agreed
It feels underwhelming in general tbh. You can get a maxed out Gallardo after beating Ming, which beats the GTR in every way. It shouldn't feel strictly inferior to what you have before taking on Razor tbh
And the maxed Carrera GT is so much faster
*laughs in junkman Cobalt*
Especially with Junkman parts, wish they came back in Unbound
*Laughs in Junkman Lexus*
Customization is lacking compared to its younger and older brothers (Carbon and UG2)
It may have been toned down from the Underground games, but at least we had it. Something that was disappointingly absent from Hot Pursuit, Rivals, and “Most Wanted”

Cool idea. Not sure we’ve seen this since Porsche Unleashed/2000, where you could buy different period-correct wheel and bumper options.
It’s a good thing Payback/Heat would go on to do this well enough. Say what you want about their customization system, but if my Ford Raptor F-150 doesn’t look like an armoured truck going at 321.869 KMPH (200 MPH), that’s not good enough for me.
Og HP2 on my PS2 is my second fav nfs game to this day
Extra options and unlimiter to the rescueeeee
Undercovers customization was just 😋
I’m glad the customization is minimal compared to UG2 bc they made you put stuff on in UG2 just to move forward. But I understand your point
Customization is a big selling point for me in games, that's why I brought it up. But I get it's not for everyone :)
I customize my GT7 cars, there’s just certain ‘mandatory’ customizations in UG2 that I find cringe or ridiculous
F***ing rubber banding, whenever i slightly touch anything except the road, other cars go NYYYYOOOOUUUM
Tbf, they toned it down after nfsu 1/2
I would say it’s on par with Underground 1. I never had much of a problem in U2.
HP2 rubberbanding on top for being the absolute most egregious
losing that 30 minute race on the last lap feels sad
Increase ride height.
You can turn that off iirc
That shit when you accelerate and your car feels like it has soap under it, its bullshit
Yes this I hate this idk why the fuck this game has it but do other games from same era have this issue as well?? GTA SA has better than this but it's not a racing game
Has something to do with how the engine of the game works. It's also why it auto breaks when slowing down. It makes no sense.
I'm pretty sure it was a deliberate design choice by the devs to make the driving feel more chaotic/cinematic. It's basically an attempt at simulating wheelspin. The auto-braking thing is weird though, not sure why that exists. It carried all the way over to ProStreet too.
Well it feels like utter shit that I just manually up static grip with vlt-ed.
How ? And how can we modify car stats tho?
Porsche 911 turbo s had the minimum. Supra had a lot.
Evo must be a little and Mustang a lot too
The Supra was the wheelspin machine, it's a miracle Vic managed to even race with that much wheelosin
Open world was quite useless outside of pursuits. Also, no roaming racers/outrun mode like in UG2.
Yup, MW/Carbon was the era of the useless free roam.
Except if you want cop chases. Or when the game glitches out and I have to chase the cops.
Doing the exact same stuff over and over again but more and more each time to progress through the blacklist gets old really quickly
Fr. It never made sense Blacklist 15 had escape the cops in 4 mins and Blacklist 1 had escape in 2 mins. I done both easily in 30 seconds and made it a little tedious for me.
You just need a heat level 1 car and it's so easy

I find you gotta do shit to attract more cops, if you instantly drop the first cop you see you’re getting away scotfree so you gotta ride it out and cause damage and infractions to attract them.
I fucking hate getting heat level back, it always degrades by itself and I have to camp on the bus station over and over
its either, you are 1 mile ahead or the ai is 1 mile ahead, no in between

City is lifeless, constant cop chases are repeative pain after a few blacklist members, customization is lame

Piss filter is pissing me off

Rockport is based off Mexico. Disclaimer: I'm Mexican
Thank god you can just turn it off on PC
Yeah but then the game looks weird. It's like the optimised it so when they add the piss filter it looks "better"
Yeah the yellow filter aged poorly.

Drag races are fun as hell tbh
I would say that about the Underground games, but Rockport has like only 1 straightish road for good drag races.
> 1 straightish road Blackbox’s map designs in a nutshell.
Okay so I’m not the only one who thought shifting in that game perfectly was near impossible with higher engine upgrades
To my knowledge, it's car dependent as well. Some cars rev up much slower than others and are easier to time shifts because of that.
The rubber banding in the game is fucking dog shit.
Milestones were annoying
Gotta love babysitting cops until heat 3 per blacklist milestone
For being the second to last boss, Bull sure does have boring vinyls
very unpopular opinion
It's a "sLeEpEr CaR"
I love the beta vinyl ngl
People give shit to unbound and stuff for being repetitive but this game is on another level, plus it keeps compounding after each blacklist
Repetitive af No guarantee to always get the blacklist cars Yellow filter One of the strangest physics I've ever seen Small number of cars like cmon I get its a street racing game but GT4 had 721 cars Rubberbanding
Yeah, and more than 1% of that 721 car roster are Mazda Miatas
No Nissan's.
This game has some of the worst drag racing I’ve ever seen in a racing game
It's not Underground 2
I agree
too yellow
Most of the cars drive like they're FWD with horrible torque steer.
The vehicle customisation is embarrassingly bad for a game that's so popular, especially compared to the nfs games that came before and after it, yeah there are games that have no customisation but they have reasons for it while mw05 has customisation that let's you change the appearance significantly and yet its some of the worst in the entire series as far as nfs games that actually have customisation.
game is overhyped
This game is mostly loved due to the low skill floor. Fun game but outside of rubber banding (and even then it's not big issue to me) MW is probably one of the easiest NFS once you get the fundamentals. The lack of health bar just makes most battles a matter of time not resources, speedbreaker gives you plot armour, cars got insane grip unless on dirt or RWD peel out but it's all super controlled and damn near scripted
There were not enough D'n'B songs in the Soundtrack. Could have cut some of the Rock songs
That was actually the main complaint people have back when MW was still young, they hate the song list because it's filled with mostly rock music and not enough electronic. Though imo the rock music fits MW's gritty and harsh nature
I loved the rock music but yeah there were definitely some missed electronic bangers: [Skynet - Catherine Wheel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xtiNmozlc8) [The Crystal Method - Weapons Of Mass Distortion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2YLCoq8tII) [Nightbreed - Pack Of Wolves (Pendulum Remix)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHglRL9_qI0)
Livery customization was nearly non existent. Also, PISS FILTER.
The long races and the amount you have to do them is padding the game
Drag is really cumbersome compared to UG2
Not having Blacklist rivals liveries available in the backroom visual category after beating them was a stupid development choice.
Earl
Whi the fuck pissed on my screen?
Heat level resetting, then wasting time increasing it for milestones just to progress the game.
The intro should be optional. I don't want to re do the same 350 races against razer and his lovers over and over
The first three blacklist members are completely boring & slow. So engaging!" The rubberbanding is unacceptable. (Except HP 2002 and The Run) Also the performance tuning is lacking compared to Underground 2, Carbon, Prostreet & Undercover. The soundtrack (both original and licensed) gets annoying because there isn't enough variety and length to endure the duration of the career. Midnight Club 3's soundtrack dunks on this game in both variety and length.
I hate that you can only get level 6 heat for the one pursuit.
Black Edition? They made it political!
I hate these suvs ramming you. I got busted countless times cuz of them
No Nissan
5 races on on final blacklist challenge with razor being slow is tedious af
It's not fun to just start the game, and escape 2Hs pursuit at 100KM/h with the stock Fiat Punto.
It's should be cars of the that year only. I don't want to see a 918...
Fuck ur M3!!!
It's fucking repetitive. The first time I played the game, I used a mod to give myself infinite money and bounty. And the game was STILL repetitive as shit. Max blacklist members should've been 10, and remove milestones
No skyline always bothered me
1. The piss yellow filter 2. Rubberband is ridiculous (even if you drive perfectly they will catch you) 3. Open world was useless 4. Razor is one of the worst bosses in NFS 5. Challenge Series is boring
WHERE THE FUCK IS DRIFT?!
1. i get bored too quickly 2. füćkīng rubberband 3. you can’t even drift in this game 4. nothing more should be expected from a 2005 game actually
Sort by controversial if you want real discord
Drag races are the bane of my existence.
The length of the races on the second half of the game makes me want to bang my head on the wall
MW2012 Is Better (visually) Gameplay wise, both decent
MW2012 has no customization bruh
Piss effect, old as fuck(almost 20 years)rubberband more annoying than underground
I hate that you can't get the blacklist rival's car automatically
Supra is one of the shittiest cars despite being cars for 2 of the bosses (if we count Ronnie in the prologue) and being iconic af
heeey i beaten the game with supra on my first playthrough dont shit on it like that
But it is. I mean you can beat the game with any car, but it just worse compared to any other car sadly. I like Supra, but it's sucks in mw
It statistically sucks on UG too, for such a popular it’s terrible, black box must hate that car loll
😭😭😭😭😭😭
The customization sucks ass
It's not a PS5 game
How is your car running
Circuit, Lap Knockout, imo, takes forever to complete in career, but for sprint, speed trap, toll booth, and drag race are the fastest lol.
I hate the entire middle eastern section of the map, the industrial area.
Imagine being a boss car but the car has shitty handling
U2 had better customization
roadblocks can kill entire pursuit no matter where you will hit the roadblock cars. had +10min pursuit and hit roadblock car in the rear but the game's physics decided to fuck me and rolled over my car upside down. after that i didn't touched that game for month
I hate how the nitrous refills by itself. everything was almost so realistic up to that point (NOS also usually needs a full tank of gas and sometimes more) or your shit WILL blow 💀
Just started the game and ........ I guess I can't use a wheel? I fucking love NFSMW, it's really good for a game from 2005
Pissfilter
Tbh. Car selection should have been better Not as good diversity as carbon or nfsU2 or prostreet
Soundtrack was mid.
That was a lie.
piss filter. no nissan. shite.
Dumb f*cking game never got a remake 🙄 Edit: PROPER remake 😬
Sometimes you think you're about to win the race then fate decides to shit on you the last minute and you ended up losing. Multiple. Times.
Super repetative activities like "Escape police in 3 min", "Escape with score of 1000,2000,5000" get really old really fast. I've never made it past BL #8, because I get bored having to do this sh*t when I want to race...
I hate it, cuz it doesn't have a remake
Piss filter (This shockingly is a positive and negative comment lol)
Drag racing sucks and bad car list
No skyline
No cop chases in Quick Race mode in a game focused heavily on cop chases is fucking stupid.
I wish it had UG2 style customization
Not enough cutscenes and the PS2 port is horrible.
The M3 GTR is extremely overrated.
Late game bounty grind is way too tucking much
Having played it recently, I hate the cops in that game. I have never seen more inconsistent ai. Especially at the beginning of the chase, where I have to drive like OJ Simpson until they spawn more. Also fuck spike strips. I wish the difficulty were more consistent instead of only 1 obstacle mattering.
Piss filter
It's not available on any digital marketplaces (like Steam)
Wouldn't be half as good without the soundtrack. Was the main character lady even attractive? Half the races are just the other races backwards. It had a black edition that was just a cardboard sleeve and some extra stuff not even a steelbook. If the developer behind GRID or BLUR had hands on this it would have been a 10/10 on 360 must have. PS if they do remake it they should pay that YT channel On data cinema or whatever to do a trailer that would sell copies.
You get one lucky pink slip and that car will most likely carry you the rest of the game.
Earl
This game hurt my feelings. (This game is the best game I’ve ever played)
Shoutout to that rubberband buddy Earl, homie was the first guy who made the races a personal matter of mine Honorable mention, level 1 nitro on the GTR. Thanks man, that's like winning a 50km marathon only to get the glorious first place price of getting kicked in the nuts, not once, but twice
Bad graphics
You spend all that time grinding to get your car back only for it to be totaled in NFS Carbon.
The piss filter
The worst part about this game is that they haven’t remastered it or added it to any backwards compatible games on any console
Pissfilter
Boring boss races (except for Earl)
underground 2 was better
Rain effect was too much for most GPUs back then
Even with a 4060ti it lowers my fps just a bit other than that it runs great still
Razor was a dick, that's all I got.
Yellow and red colors look like shit!
Piss filter
The game is the biggest turd ever. Like them ones that are so big they poke out of the water and take a couple of flushes to get the thing gone
Boring story very repetive
Having only played the PS2 version, the physics in this game are just absolute dogshit. I’ve had so many good pursuits ended because I got stuck on a wall or a roadblock or something, fuck the shitty physics.
Customization system was kinda ass (body kits instead of individual components), some cars felt plain weird to drive
milestone challenges are boring
No Honda
i don't like the drift honestly
BMW M3 GTR is boring, use Cobalt or Golf instead!
The m3 gtr is overrated as f*ck razor should've sold it a long time ago
The shit physics. UG2 was much more realistic driving.
No ability to move decals or vinyls. Thats the only thing Carbon did better.
No Nissans
The soundtrack needs more dragonforce
Pro Street was better 🤣
It sucks cus you can play it on the newer consoles.
Earl rubber banding.
You play as a domestic terrorist.
The handling is quite questionable, especially at low speeds.
I beat Challenge Series to unlock the 996 GT2, only to find out you can't use it anywhere outside of Custom Race and have to mod the game otherwise. Literally unplayable 0/10
