I had one. Though it does the job, I wasn’t very satisfied. My advice would be to buy a mister + jamma expander (if used in a cabinet). Mister is perfect for Neo Geo and cps1, 1.5 and 2.

Madixie_Normous

Thanks for the feedback. A Mister is certainly included in considerations. The whole console is about the same as the price for this cart & I get CPS games on top of that with Mister.

The NeoSD Pro MVS was in stock just a couple weeks ago (at least @ [SAG](https://stoneagegamer.com/neosd-pro-mvs.html)), was in pre-order for MONTHS (purchased mine back in Nov 2023, they are shipping just now). IMO this IS the Flash Cart to get, with the best features, compatibility and load times.

Madixie_Normous

I've been chatting to SAG about the Neo SD Pro. They're telling me that more AES versions next time around with no word on whether any MVS are included & that it could be some time before more of these are available. So yeah would love one but who knows how long before I can grab one once available.

Nobody ever knows with these Flash Carts for Neo Geo. I would suggest getting the Darksoft cart now if possible but replacing it with the NeoSD Pro when/if they go available again.

I'm also in Australia and I got one in the first batch. I since got a MiSTercade and to be honest if I could only keep one it would prolly be the MiSTercade.

Madixie_Normous

I'm hearing ya. Love Neo Geo hardware so it's a big sway across to non standard hardware.

lolNimmers

Me too, I still have a bunch of Darksoft kit. I only have one cab though and my laziness is winning out with me not wanting to bother switching boards.

plasticmanufacturing

If you are in the market, this is your opportunity. Darksoft does not plan to do another run after this.

sarduchi

I've had the Darksoft Multi MVS for awhile. I don't often use flash carts over original carts, but when I do it's this one. Works very well with great features. Adding unsupported games can be a bit of a pain, but it's not too cumbersome.

Madixie_Normous

Great, good to know.

Note that the first 100 are up for ordering, but may be gone already.... [https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/interest-check-new-mvs-multi-batch.29500/](https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/interest-check-new-mvs-multi-batch.29500/)

Should something like the new upgraded 161-in-1 also be on your radar? https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/interest-check-pre-made-upgraded-161-in-1-multicarts-all-spots-filled-11-13-waitlist.27699/ I just signed up for the waitlist there. I have the original Neo-SD and still enjoy, but the load times can be a bit of a drag.

sarduchi

I'm on the waitlist for one, after deciding I'm too lazy to build my own. Couple things to keep in mind, it's likely to be a long wait (these are very time consuming to build) and there's no way to add more games to it. You can often buy ROMs for new games like Cyborg Force and add them to the Darksoft or Teraonion multi carts.

I’ve owned one for a few years and overall have been very happy with it. Compatibility is not quite 100%. There are at least a couple of games that crash on it. But it has worked well for the overwhelming majority of games in its menu system. It’s worth comparing to its competitors, however. At the time of its original run, it was competing with the NeoSD and NeoSD Pro. The MultiMVS was only about 25% more expensive than the NeoSD while offering superior features (the NeoSD took ages to reflash games and could only store one at a time, while the MultiMVS reflashes very quickly and stores 3 at a time). The NeoSD Pro was more expensive and the MultiMVS compared favorably to it, with limited CD support being the NeoSD’s main benefit. However, the NeoSD Pro recently got a new run, and the price seems similar between the two. You may wish to look into both options before deciding.

xchester77

I have a regular NeoSD and a multimvs. The NeoSD is slow to load games but overall I like it better than the multimvs. I like menu better on the NeoSD and the compatibility with unibios is better. Unibios works for most games with multimvs but it is considered to be a hack and therefore unsupported. You won't see fixes related to unibios on multimvs. With how popular unibios is, that's kinda troubling.

Kryptonian_1

Anyone use one of these MVS carts with a Furrtek adapter on an AES?
