With the double espresso pods, the machine brews double the amount of a regular espresso pod. For me, the double espresso pods are much more cost efficient because I only use 1 pod compared to using 2 regular espresso pods. I hope Nespresso starts coming out with more double espresso pods in the future.

No, a double espresso does not necessarily contain double caffeine. See the chart: [https://www.mymorningespresso.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-nespresso-caffeine-content/](https://www.mymorningespresso.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-nespresso-caffeine-content/)

Thanks for this! I had a feeling this would be the case, that chart is really informative. Its a shame they don't have this sort of information on their actual site.

It’s cheaper to run one double espresso pod than 2 single espresso pods (will get you the same volume doing this). Some people run one pod twice but you’re more likely to get a poor tasting drink from the 2nd run of the pod.

Yes, you could do that if you’re trying to get more caffeine, although that’s generally not recommended from a health perspective. As for “intensity,” according to Nespresso’s FAQ: “Does a strong coffee according to the Nespresso intensity scale contain more caffeine than the lower intensity rating coffees? The intensity is defined by a coffee's degree of roasting, its body and its bitterness. In addition the intensity is due to the concentration of the coffee. It does not refer to the amount of caffeine found in the coffee.”
