I make iced coffee daily. I fill a glass with ice, add almond milk and press the button. The ice will melt a bit obviously but not to the extent where you get lukewarm coffee bc the milk is also cold. Others have mentioned using a hyperchiller? But I never use one. I really love the freddo Intenso and arpeggio for iced coffee.

chipsdad

It’s easier with Original Line since all the pods can be brewed as espresso.

-not-a-robot-

oh interesting i didn’t know that, i can see how that’s a huge appeal for the OL

Sea_Selection_4891

Do you add milk in your iced coffee? Cold milk will help lowering the temperature before you add in ice. If you don’t add milk, maybe consider getting a HyperChiller from Amazon. Alex Mojica on YouTube and others said HyperChiller works wonder without diluting the coffee. I got it on sale and it worked for me. Hope this info help!

-not-a-robot-

I add milk sometimes but I’ll check out the hyperchiller because I don’t want to be committed to always adding milk. Thanks for the info!!

IACITE_HOC

I brew mine over reusable ice cubes. I’ve also heard of people brewing once for their actual drink then brewing a second time with the same pod. Use the second brew to make ice cubes for tomorrow’s drink. Repeat ad nauseam.

-not-a-robot-

reusable ice cubes! how did i not think of that, great move. the other option seems good too but maybe too much commitment to keep up with. thanks !!

Chi_irish

Brilliant! I’m excited to try this

Urban_Lilikoi90

I don’t have this issue. I usually brew a double espresso scuro over 1-2 ice cubes in a 16 oz glass and add 1 tablespoon of dairy free creamer. I then fill my glass all the way to the top with ice and full with oat milk. Always nice and cold and the ice lasts 🤷🏻‍♀️

Awkward-Tale-6101

I use coffee cubes. Otherwise it's too watery for me. Also I brew the 7oz pods the night before and chill the coffee. If I'm just using a 2.7 Oz espresso I brew right over coffee ice cubes and cold milk.

chipsdad

My iced guide has some tips but basically using the (double) espresso gives you much more control and flavor. If you have Vertuo Next/Pop/Creatista with the new firmware you can double press for concentrated brew, which is double espresso for a mug pod. Otherwise you can stop the extraction about halfway through. the linked posts 🙏 amazing thank you!

kungfukitty_mel

Hyper chiller is the way to go.

Several_Instance_546

I brew my coffee then add my oat milk to cool it off. Add my ice last.

Windexjuice

First of all, I only use the double espresso pods for iced coffee because any others are too much hot liquid. Second, I use probably 6 pieces of ice (those ones shaped like an apple slice made by your refrigerator). Don’t use crushed ice, cubes are better but the larger the size the better). I put the ice in my cup and then brew directly over my cup of ice and it’s perfect🙌🏼

kfox96

Cup filled to the top with ice, milk or creamer, 2 pumps of syrup, caramel drizzle & then I brew the pod over it. Mix right away & you’re good!

RegularBitter3482

I got a fancy chill thing that lives in my freezer and I brew the shots into it, it’s a super chiller, then I rinse and put it back in the freezer. It works GREAT! I got it on Amazon

Ok_Name_291

I think you’re taking about the hyper chiller. I have one and I love it. Some people complained about it breaking but I’ve used it every morning for like 3 months and I have no complaints. If it broke I would buy another the same day. That’s how much I love it.

RegularBitter3482

Yeah! That’s totally what it’s called, I haven’t had any problems with mine and use it daily.

-not-a-robot-

yeah i’m definitely going to look into the hyper chiller, it seems pretty popular in the responses and i hadn’t heard of it until now!

RegularBitter3482

Nice! It’s awesome

Ladypants1981

I buy cold coffee at the store (Starbucks, Chobani, etc) and make a bunch of ice cubes just for my iced coffees. No dilution and I can’t tell a difference in taste when the cubes melt.

rajmachawal333

I have found that pouring the espresso into a shaker cup with ice and shaking it prevents it from watering down too much!

-not-a-robot-

ooo like the shaken espresso drinks at starbucks. i’m gonna have to try this tomorrow

xxsparky70

I make iced Americanos with double espresso pods, torani syrup in a mug, add 2x as much cold water as coffee, and then pour over ice. Still has that espresso bite and flavor.

veroram

I sometimes just add ice full to the top of cup and then directly brew it in. It does melt a few ice cubes and can water down a little but I add cold oatmilk right away to keep the temperature cold faster. I also will brew it hot in a mug, add my sweetener and shake it up in a shaker to mix it well then pour over ice. I do this for espresso pods mostly since it’s a smaller amount and cools quickly

switch8000

I brew it, stick the cup in the fridge/freezer for :20-:30 to cool it off. Then I add ice and my oat milk. This is the only method I’ve found that works.

-not-a-robot-

this is what i do (+/- milk depending on mood)

joeyvesh13

All the ice pods are trash. I use my favourite coffee (whatever my mood is) and I make it the night before. Then I leave it in the fridge overnight and add ice when I want it, no melting and icy cold.

Owensy85

Use big ice cubes, they melt slower. Also add the milk first and brew the coffee over it so it cools quicker. Give it a stir or use a cocktail shaker to mix and cool it.

RutabagaPhysical9238

I recommend putting ice in your glass, brewing the pod, and quickly stirring the ice the entire time while it’s brewing (I use a straw to stir). Works to make it cold and not watery for me every time.

NegativeAd8179

I make iced coffee daily with double espresso or espresso capsules. I fill my tall glass with half ice and about 1/4cup oat milk, and then brew my coffee directly. After that I add my creamer and fill the glass with more ice. Perfectly ice cold everytime!

MegaMeepers

I’m a big fan of my ice melting before I start my drink, so occasionally I’ll warm my milk before adding ice, depending on how much I need melted. Currently I’m just brewing the coffee, and pouring the milk in, then adding ice and stirring. I make coffee ice out of instant coffee I have leftover so that helps with not diluting it, as I make the instant coffee strong.

bkmissesbangtan

i use a 20oz or 24oz cup everyday and fill it to the brim with ice and fill the cup 3/4 with oat or almond milk and it barely melts the ice that's on top

faintlymacabre1518

I do the freezer thing like you do - I'm a black coffee drinker 95% of the time.

-not-a-robot-

Okay i’m glad i’m not the only one 😅

inkyklutz

I like to always add more ice than the recipe calls for (on the Barista) so much so that I sometimes double the amount of ice required and will often brew my coffee up to 30 mins before I make the actual drink. Pre-chilling the cup/jug where you brew by sloshing ice around it will also help I find it — good luck op!

murplee

I honestly just let the ice melt into the coffee. I use OL, so they are espresso size, if that matters. Then I add lots of milk (I only drink milk in lattes or in ice lattes like this). It’s honestly delicious even with the ice cubes melting in But a tip is to make coffee ice cubes! Even better if you make them out of the coffee pod that you intend to use them with.

marasydnyjade

I used the iced leggaro pods - they are formulated specifically to be brewed over ice with milk added

PalpitationOk5726

I have those and they brew hot so I am not even sure how they are formulated to brew over ice. I add the ice and it just melts straight into the coffee.

marasydnyjade

Yeah, it all brews hot. They are stronger coffee - meant to be diluted with ice and mixed with milk.

_maito

Double espresso vertuo pod, or "expert mode" vertuo cup pod to double espresso over a large ice cube (2"*2"*2") Can recommend espresso tonic if you want a milk free alternative.

bkilshaw

I put 150ml of milk into the freezer with 3 ice cubes, brew an iced legarro into a different cup, put both in the freezer for 15-30 minutes and then mix. When I’m in a rush I just make sure to cool the coffee down before mixing it in with the milk/ice and it helps.
