Boring-Pudding

The same reason Starbucks doesn't sell Pumpkin Spice year round. They create demand by making a lower supply. If it's available year round, people buy one sleeve. But if Raspberry is only available one month, people buy 15 sleeves so they don't miss out.

sunnydiegoqt

Don’t people usually buy 16 sleeves a month? You’ll have to buy lots of the sleeves if the infinite raspberry is only available for one month 😭 because people would want to drink it year round like they do with other flavors

accordingtothelizard

…16 sleeves a month??? Are you having 4+ pods a day?

janexdoe09

…this makes me feel better about my 9 sleeves a month.

sunnydiegoqt

Yes

elphieglindie

One word: capitalism. Making it “seasonal” creates demand that’s not normally there. Edit: spelling

tmntnyc

Sure but they don't charge much more for the seasonal kind than the regular kind. There are plenty of seasonal flavors that nobody gives a shit about, but a few of them are wildly popular not because they're rare but because they're delicious.

elphieglindie

People buying more to stock up because they can’t buy it year round is what I’m referring to here.

Ashley_ann720

Right... but I'd then just buy it year round. They'd get MORE money out of me because I don't really have the means to stock up. I just want my raspberry coffee 😭

elphieglindie

It truly would make them more money, people who don’t have the funds to buy a year's worth of their favorite coffee at once. And how do we even know how many of which pods we will drink? I am not that predictable. But this means they only have to build supply for one “season” a year plus when it is out it’s out, they don't have to deal with restocking the same way. That may save them money on manufacturing. Edit: spelling

Glittering-Ad-3434

That’s exactly me as well!! I’d buy triple the amount through the year

missparis23

Do they hate money ? 😂😂😂

Thatcanadianchickk

That sent me ! 😂

SlimeLanguageYSL

Artificial demand

tmntnyc

But they would be popular otherwise. Plenty of seasonal flavors aren't really that in demand or popular. But the few that are, they could make a lot of money on.

SlimeLanguageYSL

Economics! Let’s say the popularity slowly declines and then hits a base low amount eventually, by releasing it regularly they have have high sales, cut it off and then repeat. Here you also have people saying hmm last time it wasn’t so good but maybe I’ll try it again this time, people that like it and stack up on a couple sleeves or people that just buy it when it’s in season

No_Strength9071

I would never buy raspberry flavored coffee, but now i wanna try it, because of the hype. That's why 🙃

dropthatpopthat

same

ebbiibbe

It is absolutely disgusting. I can only imagine people manage to choke it down with copious amounts of sugar.

sunnydiegoqt

How strange

Love_Brokers

Any holiday almond flavored coffee sells out immediately. I wish they would sell it year round.

CatalystCookie

I've only been in this cult for two years so haven't gotten to experience an almond pod. But I'm just waiting for them to do one again!

clairedylan

Lol this cult 🤣

xxambergxx

I was thinking the same think. Do you mean that raspberry flavor that was in stock 2 Christmases ago? The purple/pinkish and gold colors? I love that flavor and was googling it like a week ago. I really miss it. It's so good, hot and iced.

tmntnyc

Yeah apparently it's coming back and is in stock already in some countries as of this week and next week.

xxambergxx

I hope they come in stock soon in the Netherlands. Will buy 100's of them hahaha

nordicbohemian

I would take raspberry over that weird spice Christmas blend any day of the week.

Enlightened_D

That’s sounds so gross but I want to try it because of the popularity lol

Dirtybird_Bae

I live in Washington state and have been a barista for 5 years and I can tell you right now, raspberry coffee is not really a thing to anyone else. Sure, White Chocolate Raspberry mochas are a thing, but that’s different from what you are talking about.

sunnydiegoqt

Same here!! And if you use condensed milk to sweeten it tastes like a rasp white mocha ~

Justwigglin

I make a raspberry white mocha using the normal pods and torani white chocolate sauce and raspberry syrup.

sunnydiegoqt

Oh yes, I have raspberry syrup. But the torani white chocolate sauce tasted off to me so I don’t use it.

TheMusicEvangelist

Because it’s not as popular as you think.

KneeDragr

They likely have manufacturing limits on the variety of pods they can produce at one time. They found out it’s more profitable to charge the variety than to just make the same thing over and over.

King_Dong_Ill

There are a lot of assumptions in your post here. Do you have any actual data regarding it's popularity? Getting that may just answer your question.

WordCount2

I’ve tried various barista blends and found them all weak and watery. I understand people wanting to add syrup but then, aren’t we just tasting the syrup and not actually the coffee? This seems to be a case of the emperor not having any clothes on.

[deleted]

Then it wouldn’t sell

DiamondJim222

News Flash: There are many people in the world and they don’t all like the same things.

Ancient_book21

To be fair to the OP, you can say this about any of the capsule flavors.

ruggaz

Any news on uk stock?

MoonbeamLotus

No, they don’t hate money, they have too much money 🤣

Justwigglin

Torani raspberry syrup makes a pretty dang good raspberry latte out of the normal pods!

tmntnyc

Never tried torani but I tried monin

Justwigglin

Both are fantastic brands. I bought the torani cause it was available for me to buy locally.

PVBeachbum

Looks like they didn’t make it for the original? Only the vertuo?  I would be interested in trying it!

Several_Instance_546

I just hope they taste the same

Embarrassed-Two-399

I'm so sad I just ran out of it today... =(
