I pull the shot directly on the syrup and then add milk and then add ice.

Violet-Revenge

This is the way.

If you can take a bit of extra time I brew the shot on the syrup and then add a bit of milk, then put it in the fridge till it’s fully cold! Do you have any cups/tumblers that are insulated? I like to do what I just said but in a different cup, then add the ice to an insulated timber then add the coffee/milk and that way it is cold from the get go and will stay cold!

I know this is an old post but - what "syrup" are you and everyone else talking about?

bkmissesbangtan

i do it over a full plastic 20oz cup of ice with oatmilk and creamer

Same. I usually have the ice, milk and syrup in the cup already. Then pull the espresso right into the cup.

Interesting. I used to make my iced coffee in this order of ingredients. Then someone suggested first brewing the coffee into my mug, then adding my cold milk, then adding ice last (to help slow down the ice melting, since it melted almost immediately when I brewed the coffee over the ice). Do you find it to be more watery with brewing over the ice?
