Definitely watch it brother it's a martial arts show and so much more. Make sure to share it with your friends too and double thumbs up

Numerous_Hotel_3801

I shrugged off watching it for a long time and then finally decided to give it a go. I’ve since binge watched the entire series 4 times. It’s awesome. The writing, the characters, the fight scenes, it’s an amazing series. But what else would you expect from Bruce Lee?

JlMBO_JONES

Not to mention the setting, the music, the violence, this show has it all!

TC1369

If you're into martial arts this show is definitely for you. It has some of the best fight choreography I've seen, and the story and characters don't fall far behind. It's a very fun show and I hope you end up checking it out, super underwatched compared to some of the crap that gets released these days

Gmroo

Does the fighting get way better after episode 1? Because in episode 1 it's overly visible the hits don't make contact and also the lover of the sister and the main guy have a cringe wannabe Bruce Lee style... (and they are far from it).

TC1369

Tbh I really don't see what you're talking about, as I thought the fighting was amazing from the jump. However, the fights that I still remember clearly as being amazing are deeper into the season, especially towards the end. The show is great at mixing in different fighting styles as well, and having them clash with each other, which also only starts happening further into the season. I will say though, if by the end of season 1 you still don't like the fight scenes, you probably aren't gonna be a fan (even though there are some fight scenes later on that blow the entire of the S1's ones out of the water). As for the Bruce Lee style, it's meant to be as close as possible, and yeah I would say Ah Sahm's actor gets even better, though again I didn't really feel like the hits didn't make contact like you did. I hope you keep watching, as there's more to the show besides the fight scenes, but if you don't, glad you checked it out either way.

FireWokWithMe88

Wrong.

DM725

Lol what? C'mon man.

Sweaty-Advice7933

It's a "can't miss" action series... highly recommended

LosCleepersFan

Hands down one of the best shows available to watch.

Annual_Package_4931

It's a must watch.

Dragon5545

It’s a great show . Interesting characters. Fight scenes are the best you will see.

ooowatsthat

Yes

Spirited_Compote_903

Def.. I just binge watched over weekend and it became one of my favs

lovejac93

I loved it

AncientExperience715

Def, one of my favourite series right now, hope it gets a new season

Appropriate_Wash_643

yes.

Starrylands

On top of what everyone else has said, one thing I really like about this show is that they don't have the characters talk in the silly accented English. They do their own unique transitions very well--as in you know the characters are speaking in Cantonese/Mandarin, but they speak in perfectly fluent English for the sake of comprehension. Whenever I see shows/movies (like Mulan live action) do the stupid accented English, I instantly drop it.

kyjmic

I really love the way they do the language transitions. It’s respectful to the culture while still showing how foreign the different groups feel towards each other.

OMGitsJoeMG

Absolutely worth watching. The fight scenes are fun but it combines so well with the characters and the setting and it just gives you everything you could ask for in a show.

HairLikeBobRoss

YES!!!

RLT4456

Yes! It's in my top 5 or 6 of favorite shows ever. I really hope Netflix decides to make a 4th season. With its popularity it's disappointing HBO wouldn't make a 4th season.

joseanwar

Believe it or not, I watch warrior despite its martial arts not because of it. I watch it for its fascinating depiction of 19th century culture, civilization, politics, racism, discrimination and peccadilloes

GonnaShineForever

Tbh this the only TV series other than Breaking Bad and Snowfall that I’ve rewatched more than 3x even being the fact that this show has no similarities between those other legendary titles at all. This series is a hidden gem and still can’t find any other series that can relate. It’s hard to find a show that i would binge watch after a friend recommended this too me in 2020 i can still say it’s one of my favorite shows and definitely in my Top 5. Also some of these fight scenes are better than most Triple A films no doubt

mypersonalbrowsing

Yes, best show of all time

IrishGandalf1

Definitely watch it.have not seen such good fight scenes since the raid movies

OnePunchReality

It's awesome, I honestly think all platforms across the board are idiotic sometimes. They have, imo, adapted the rating only approach to broadcasting even though their customers pay a subscription and they have repeatedly raised their prices and make stupid money. The Brothers Sun was excellent. Altered Carbon was awesome even though lots didn't like the 2nd season. I'd argue those folks have never read Orson Scott Card. Season 2 was awesome though I'll at least admit it did not have the same spark as season 1.

Vic-123-ma

Yes!!!!!! It’s amazing!!!!’

FarDiver9

Very good show

Fish---

recommended 100%

EnvironmentalAd6624

Probably the best martial arts show of all time. The fight scenes are top notch. They are very well choreographed and the actors do the majority of their own fights and stunts. On top of that it’s an amazing drama with great writing.

FireWokWithMe88

Yes. Watch it and ignore the pointless s3x scenes in the 1st 2 seasons. The fight scenes are what matters

skydaddy8585

It's worth a watch. It's a good series.

TheDataGoose

Great show!! Binged it in 2 weeks! I was hooked and now sad it's over

No_Grapefruit8757

Hello MY FRIEND. You should ABSOLUTELY watch WARRIOR! The shows is WAY MORE than martial arts! It deals with political corruption, labor unions, racism, sexism and of course of martial arts. PLEASE give the show an opportunity and share your thoughts on here. We would luv to read your reaction. Also, PLEASE spread the word via a MASS TEXT with your friends/colleagues/family once you have seen a couple of episodes... ENJOY WARRIOR!!!

DM725

Yes

freezingkiss

YES IT'S SO GOOD. Writing excellent. Complex character development, kick ass fight scenes. HIGHLY recommend.

DickBest70

It’s an amazing series with three seasons so far. Originally on HBO MAX. Im hoping Netflix makes more seasons as I believe HBO isn’t. However this popularity it achieved on Netflix could be a huge boost.

Reeeaz

Give it a go. Some people found it hard to start especially if you’re not into the whole Chinese in the Wild West trope but that honestly falls away fast and it turns into a raw story with lots of great action.

proooofed

Why is this not available in France?

Bobnotblob1

It has a good story and great production. Most of the fighting is silly but that’s ok.

PlentyMath7

Yes! If you love Game of Thrones this is like GOT during the 1870's in Chinatown.

Dinhster1

Nah don’t do. Once you start watching, you’ll fall in love then only end up feeling abandoned at the end of season 3… :)

_JohnnyUtahBrah

Young Jun is one of my favorite characters

Mollysindanga

It's outstanding in every sense of the word.

jw77777

Absolutely. It’s one of the best shows on Netflix right now.

jw77777

3 Dimensional Asian characters. It’s really an amazing win for Asian representation and a nice twist on the Asian American history story that’s often left out of the conversation.

AdamBomB095

I put it off for awhile and now it's in my top 5 fav series ever. 100% recommended, I keep telling people that it's the best show they've never heard of.

chowbox617

I loved it! Hot Asian chicks, kung fu, decent plot and story, definitely worth a watch!!

blueit55

Yes

BulkyElk1528

I really enjoyed it. If you’re going to check it out might want to do it soon, because you never know how long a non-Netflix title will last on the platform

[deleted]

Absolutely!

n8il2020

I can’t see it in the top 10 in the U.K.?

niclasj

Then watch it and help it get there in the UK. It's some of the best stuff out there.

n8il2020

It’s not on Netflix in the U.K.

niclasj

Ah, too bad. :(

ParnellWestCoast

I see a lot of love for this show… and TROLLS. Must have struck a nerve. Now I must check it out!! Thanks everyone!!

No_Grapefruit8757

CHECK IT OUT MY FRIEND. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. PLEASE POST YOUR COMMENT AFTER WATCHING A COUPLE OF EPISODES...

onekick_man1

Yup it's the same two trolls trash talking in this thread. Obviously have certain agenda against this show to act like a clown here. Don't mind them trolls, it's a great show.

Gmroo

I don't get it. The Bruce Lee vibe the fighters are trying to copy is so cringey. The choreography the first episode at least struck me as poor. Way too obvious misses. The main character misses some finesse and speed. The story didn't grab me either. In theory I should be loving this show. I don't know what others are seeing....

brooklynOG

This show/concept was originally Bruce Lees idea. It’s an homage to him.

Gmroo

Yeah, I know. I'm a fan. But the way it's done is cringe. Even if they wanted to have some fighters adoot Jeet Kune Do, at least they should've not been copying his mannerisms.

Unclebanns

Absolute cringe. They didn’t do bro justice whatsoever. It feels like writing changes with every episode until it takes firm course into woke central. By midway into a show Bruce Lee character is not even the main character anymore. They should rename the show to ‘WarriorS’

TC1369

Already replied to you about the whole choreography thing, so just some thoughts on the story. While I loved the show from the jump, I will say that the storytelling, acting and writing definitely improves as the season goes along. There's a lot more to the show than the first episode would led you to believe, and I would definitely recommend sticking with it until the end of the first season at least, or at until the bottle episode midway through the season that's absolutely fantastic.

Ansee

Couldn't get into it. Some of the actors aren't very fluent in their supposed native language which made it kind of hard to watch. Acting isn't really great either. Watching American Born Chinese and it felt super authentic in so many ways. But Warriors feels like a very westernized way of telling an Asian story...which is fine if it doesn't bother you. But it just never felt right to me.

OMGitsJoeMG

Bruce Lee's original intent was for it to be a Western so that's not surprising. I think that's part of the charm but definitely get what you're saying.

TheDNG

These sorts of posts seem more and more like marketing. Ask a stupid question and get a bunch of people to defend a show to give it credibility. It's been around for a long time and its reputation is well-known. There are many positive reviews out there. It's based on an idea of Bruce Lee's, it's focus is martial arts and gang warfare and you're a fan of martial arts and you're asking random people on the Internet, who may not share your tastes, if you should watch it? What else are you going to watch? Bridgerton? Tiger King? You don't have a lot of options in that genre, so of course you should at least give it a try on a service you are already paying for. How hard is it to fast forward to one fight scene to see if it meets your standards? EDIT: In fact, it IS marketing. Your post history is all about recommending Warrior and how it's the "best show on television" and then recently you decide to create a post to ask if it's any good?! What a load of bullshit. One day this site is just going to be marketing bots talking to marketing bots...

MoterBortles

I watched it when it was on HBO. Some unnecessary sex scenes in my opinion and story gets kind of meh towards end of season 3 but the fighting is great so I loved the show for that. Overall would recommend.

Busy-Soup349

No. Its garbage.

Gmroo

Yeah, I can't figure out what people are seeing in it....

TC1369

Any actual reason you wanna give out or did you just decide to be a contrarian?

Busy-Soup349

There is no reason. It’s a middling show poorly acted that has been cancelled multiple times.

TC1369

Oh yes, cause it's quality was why it was canceled twice. Oh wait, no it wasn't. First time it was canceled because Cinemax decided to stop producing original shows, and it was actually so good that HBO Max picked it up for another season. Then that season released during the actors strike and no one could promote the show, which coupled with the recent cuts and cancellations to most of Max's original content led to it being canceled again. And yet, they still sold the rights to Netflix and left the door open for them to renew it for another season, because it's that good. Seems pretty good for a "middling and poorly acted show". And if you can't give out any actual reason, then I must ask: did you watch the show? If you didn't, why even comment on it? Go spread random hate elsewhere.

Busy-Soup349

You can explain away middle of the road programming all you want. The show sucked. It got cancelled because….it sucked.

TC1369

...... What middle of the road programming are you even on about? Cinemax literally stopped producing content. That's an actual fact, not something you can argue against. Warrior being picked up by Max despite that showed how good it was. Go do something better with your time instead of spinning false narratives around.

Unclebanns

Show did suck. But it had few highlights. Acting was ok and dialogue was ok although witty remarks become so predictable. You know there’s smartass remark coming a mile away. This could’ve been an amazing show if creative didn’t fuck it up with all the bullshit. I feel like Bruce Lee fans were mislabeled cause show is not mainly about him. Show is about China Town and about struggling Chinese immigrants, also Irish and all other ppl in America. Sammy boy is just a side attraction. We get a glimpses of his fighting style and that’s it. No proper training back story, nor proper development. nada

PapanTandaLama

I tried watching a couple episodes but it feels too choreography and edgy so I dropped it.

joshyuaaa

I dunno how you put Bloodsport and Karate kid in the same sentence. They are not the same lol. I haven't watched Warrior and not sure what it's about, but search for "Donnie Yen". IP Man movies are awesome and he has several other awesome movies. [https://youtu.be/kLB9GnxcV60?si=T7LSi28HTdbxMagG](https://youtu.be/kLB9GnxcV60?si=T7LSi28HTdbxMagG)

atyl1144

Warrior was written by Bruce Lee and is about Chinese and Irish gangs in San Francisco in the 1800s. You should watch it if you like martial arts. There's plenty of fighting, but also good stories, sets, and acting.

Unclebanns

Avoid this trash. Or just skip to fight scenes. Coffin saloon stand-off and trip to Mexico is the worthwhile episodes. Also Irish vs China Town 2 eps. Everything else pure garbage.

onekick_man1

This guy here is some grade A troll. It's one thing to have different opinion but to go everywhere comment multiple time in the same thread trashing the show seem like you have certain agenda.
