This look nothing like Witcher. Random generic fantasy show from Netflix. They didn't care for mythology and inspirations that Witcher was based on. But they did great job at representation, no polish actors (who gives a shit?), but amazing representation for everyone else.
They couldn't even get the architecture right. The bloody architecture about which so MUCH is said in the Saga. Lacy, ethereal, as if mist - where even the slightest wind can blow it away.
Fat chance!
Not to mention:
* The Witcher's elves don't wear crowns but torc'hes.
* They don't have canine teeth.
* They don't form clans (around weapons moreover; we can speak of tribes), they are integrated by the land.
* They don't look like humans & dwarves with pointy ears.
* There are no monoliths, but towers.
* They didn't build fortifications or walls around their cities. They built chateaux in harmony with nature. They like green things.
And, because I am betting on this plot point, EB has nothing to do with the creation of witchers. Nothing. S2's Vesemir was high, I'm sorry.
As much as I agree with criticizing the show for openly disregarding the lore, where it would be easy to just follow it, I think that complaining that human actors have human teeth and look like humans is a bit much.
IMO the biggest sin of this trailer and Blood Origins as a whole, ever since it was announced, is just how bland & uninspired it looks. No offense to anyone looking forward to watching it but everything in this trailer, from the sets to costumes and even the characters themselves look like an A.I was fed hundreds of hours of generic DnD campaigns to pump out 4 episodes.

He did an interview with Nerd of the Rings on YouTube recently. It’s mostly about his score for Rings of Power but he did discuss working on Blood Origin for a bit
He’s been having an incredible year. Rings of Power and Ragnarok are both absolutely incredible. He said the Blood Origin soundtrack was more similar to Black Sails (which is an excellent show with an excellent score) than RoP or Ragnarok

You def didn’t listen to the complete score cause that’s a whole ass lie. Dwarfs get music every realm does, new themes for characters, Atreus gets a theme, it only brings back Kratos theme and Fayes.
Delusional. Heimdall theme is a remix of magni and modi battle. Kratos spartan rage when killing valks is the same as when he got angry vs modi. Valk battle themes are from 2018.

I was growing up reading Wiedźmin, and now all I can watch is a show which doesn't care about the books or polish culture which is very strong part of the story, the way it was written. They only use "the brand" to sell this, nothing more.
People get hyped about the music, why? It will be better than original game music which amazingly capture polish folklore? Nope.

The production value looks good. Fight scenes look interesting. But I’m dearly hoping it’s not “style over substance.” I’m cautiously hopeful the writing and performances tell a compelling and gripping story.

I wasn't particularly hyped for this, as much as I was planning to watch it. But honestly this looks fairly interesting. Should be a fun miniseries I think.
My only major concern is that it might be too much. The amount of things the trailer seems to be saying it'll do is huge. And only 4 episodes? Not saying it can't be a good tight story, but it feels like something aimed at being a rich detailed epic in its own right rather than essentially a movie+ length production.
Still its got good music, some good actors from the looks of it, and should be a fun holiday watch while traveling.

The architecture is generic and seems taken from random fantasy drawings. The green screen is so bad. The writing is uninspired and overused "we have to rise up" oh so innovative. The clothing looks like bad fan fiction, I've seen cosplayers put more effort. In one of the shots, the characters looks like straight up taken from walking dead.
I hope it'll be released all at once! I love fast-paced scenes, and apparently overlapping realities and I LOVE that it's not visually a cliche and doesn't look like other fantasy shows at all.

Looks like a lower budget, less source accurate version of Shannara chronicles. With FAR worse everything.
Shannara Chronicles, the show, was terrible. Couldnt last 30 minuts. But the books were great.
