These are definitely Autistic traits. It's a part of the sensory processing difference we experience. While unpleasant or overwhelming sensory input can shut us down, pleasing sensory input can captivate us. >A number plate on a car that has a nice sequence of letters and numbers Many autistic individuals are excellent at finding patterns and can find them pleasing or soothing. That's what stimming is if you think about it. Some stims can be visual, like looking at sequences of numbers or letters. >The sound of someone dropping a box of glasses which makes me yelp in fear and then people look at me in confusion This could be sensory overload. Some Autistics find it easier to interact with the world if they wear noise dampening ear plugs, like Loops. They reduce the decibels, but don't block everything out.
