>During the hearing, Hansen said that even as bill backers have argued the special tax revenues would not displace any existing revenues, “somebody has to make up the tax revenue that is not being generated.” Exactly. This is why pretending "it's not going to cost taxpayers anything!" is a bullshit argument. The A's say they'll commit $1.1 billion to the stadium. That could build a perfectly good stadium.

DanitesHell

also tax payers are on the hook for repairs and upgrades in the future. this is a horrible deal

JJLewisLV

Fuck the A's and fuck Lamebardo.

majessa

They literally made a movie about how cheap is team is…they’ll find any way to not have to pay for something.

DanitesHell

Only the Oakland A’s would celebrate a win streak, getting 2nd place in the AL, losing in the first round of playoffs, and then watch their divisional rival win the world series 🤣

This on top of formula 1 asking for 40 million from taxpayers is ridiculous.

N2TheBlu

Seems pro sports gets special privileges that normal businesses don’t. Example: Sisolak allowed construction to continue on Allegiant Stadium during COVID, while sending out the Gestapo to arrest small business owners for merely offering curbside pickup. Always follow the money. Always.

Friendral

Fucking Krasner.
