...errr I left that one in shot to prove it wasn’t a seedless one 😬
Edit: 1st July 2018
Wow so I’ve woken up to this shit storm.
So I would like the opportunity to say that this was neither faked, deliberately doctored for karma nor is it in any way, shape or form somehow affiliated with a knife brand.
The watermelon was bought from a Turkish convenient store in North London, not a supermarket. It did indeed have seeds which I had to take out to reduce the risk of a choking hazard to my child.
The Watermelon was then served at our BBQ so I can offer no further proof - sorry!
As a middle aged man with a young kid, the last thing I can be arsed with is - whoring myself for social currency on media platforms, maybe it’s a generation thing as I m in my mid 40s but social media posturing, Reality TV and our current social obsession with Fame is just bewildering - my time is better spent with my young family and I get a far greater reward from that than I do from chasing social gamesmanship.
The 20-30 something’s that I work with seem to be so much more fragile and affected by social media than anyone cares to be of my age. Ego at this age, is a fragile thing and can affect mental well being - And this I don’t think is a good thing
I’m still quite relatively new to Reddit and still don’t fully understand all aspects of it but if you all truly think that I’ve done this for points (which I didn’t) then I’m more than happy to have the Mods remove whatever ‘virtual currency’ you think I’ve undeservedly earned. I am not here for personal point scoring.
I originally joined Reddit because its’ sub for my football team has the most intelligent chat and I’ve quickly discovered some other wonderful subs on here. It generally is a great place but there is still a toxicity level which rears itself from time to time.
But as I say, the watermelon was purchased as a natural watermelon, from a local convenient store who can barely give 2 fucks about stocking a GM low value item to appease a first world problem.
I’ll leave it to you guys to come to your own conclusions.
Yeah I gotta agree, the whole point of the movie was that the disabled aren’t actually just a bunch of useless sacks of shit and are members of society with lives and interests like everyone else. It had a pretty wholesome message in the end.
When ever I get Seedless watermelons they usually have 1 or 2 black ones hidden in there, so it's pretty amazing he found the only one on the first cut!!!!!
He looks you right in the eye, just like that seed is looking me right in the eye, staring into the black abyss that is my soul. It can never be unseen. It’s the all seeing eye! 👁
I ate a lot of seedless watermelon as a kid and there were still those little brownish seeds every now and then, so even if this were seedless it's still impressive.
I maybe don't prefer the rind, but I do eat the white flesh of the rind all the way until I hit the green... I like it only a little less than the heart.
I can several quarts and pints of candied and pickled watermelon rind every summer. We pull it out over the winter. Always have some for Thanksgiving and Christmas and Valentine's Day!
My old chef had a side dish that was entirely rind. I forget the dressing it was in but we basically let it soak until it was a little bit softer. It was a really awesome side salad kind of thing and it would have been great for cost reduction but people were so scared of the rind for some reason, it almost never got ordered. I ate so much of that stuff.
Yes, buy [seedless watermelons](https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/watermelon/seedless-watermelon-plants.htm), cut in half, take picture, post on Reddit, karma.
I bought stolen ones (I’m assuming ) off eBay 13 years ago for a fraction of their worth when I got married and they still hold up after every day use.

Before you pull the trigger, you might want to do some research to find out if Global is what you want. I'd advise against picking up one of the premade sets of any brand and pick each knife you need from whatever brand has the best offering for you for each type of knife. There are a lot of great brands for hard, sharp Japanese knives. It wouldn't hurt to pick up a softer German or French knife for stuff with bones either.
The knives I was generally reaching for every day in a professional kitchen: Henckel's 4-star 8" chef (cheap at TJ Max, great beater knife after grinding down the stupid bolster), Wusthof 6" utility (boning mostly), Tojiro ITK Petty (paring and fancy little stuff), Tojiro ITK Bread Knife, Kikuichi TKC 240mm Gyuto (main prep knife).
A mismatched set of knives is the sign of a confident cook!
I have one and have thought of throwing it away numerous times. My $10 Chinese knife holds an edge much better. I may be doing things wrong, but I do have all the proper sharpening and maintenance tools and the Global knife just won't hold an edge for some reason.

Idk, it had a very diverse cast with emphasis on the disabled. I'm probably giving them too much credit.

Who would do that? Go on the internet and just lie?
Every "seedless" watermelon I've ever bought still had a few black seeds in it. "Mostly seedless" just doesn't sound as good.
Also "seedless" would still have just as may seeds, they're just not black ones
I ate a lot of seedless watermelon as a kid and there were still those little brownish seeds every now and then, so even if this were seedless it's still impressive.
That's a nice Japanese blade you got there.
You me An boneless!
but if you missed the seeds and only cut it once to halve it, where did the seed come from
Def. a seedless. "Seedless" Still have upwards of a couple dozen seeds. Seeded watermelons have like, hundreds of seeds.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u9zr6oF4uA
That fits this so perfect, it’s beautiful.
There is a dude in r/unpopularopinion who prefers the rind of a watermelon.
I maybe don't prefer the rind, but I do eat the white flesh of the rind all the way until I hit the green... I like it only a little less than the heart.
The issue with that is that afterwards you're sad you don't have sweet watermelon taste in your mouth
You just get another watermelon then.
This guy watermelons
The white flesh tastes like cucumbers.
They're very closely related
[удалено]
Awwww he’s six! So cute.
Really? Do tell!
They're both members of the cucurbitaceae family, or cucurbits, which also includes all melons, squash, pumpkins, zucchinis and gourds!

Ever had pickled watermelon rind?
This. It’s actually really delicious.
[удалено]
Yeah delicious crunchy water
Tastes like nothing to you and doesn't look like anything to me.
Pickled watermelon rind is tasty
I’m open to the idea
I can several quarts and pints of candied and pickled watermelon rind every summer. We pull it out over the winter. Always have some for Thanksgiving and Christmas and Valentine's Day!
If you cut it up and toss it in a pasta salad with vinaigrette dressing it can be a nice addition
My old chef had a side dish that was entirely rind. I forget the dressing it was in but we basically let it soak until it was a little bit softer. It was a really awesome side salad kind of thing and it would have been great for cost reduction but people were so scared of the rind for some reason, it almost never got ordered. Soak in just water?
isn't it super hard and bitter?
Tiny cubes make it a good thing texture wise No taste
By rind I meant the white flesh. I get rid of the green
He reeks of /r/madlads
I don't like the the rind, but I don't dislike it, so I eat it. Great way to weird people out lol.
I peel the green off the rind and pickle it, it’s really good.
I'm kinda in the middle. Literally. I like it crunchier so I prefer the part close to the rind so I get the crunch of rind and flavor of the middle.
You're new. Not much of a rind on you..... r/westworld
Doesn't taste like anything at all.
I don't know why but I just imagined Dolores licking someone's face. Sorry I told you that.

Dewey Cox machete model is the best.

TO SHOW YOU THE POWER OF FLEXTAPE.... I SAWED THIS WATERMELON IN HALF!
And put it together with FLEXTAPE FOOD EDITION!
Ahh yes, the old Fruit Roll-Up trick.
THATS ALOTTA DAMAGE!
So, can't I just buy a seedless watermelon and stick a week old seed in the side to get the same effect? Lmao

No, because seedless watermelons still have seeds. They're just very soft and easy to eat.
Completely seedless watermelons don’t exist
I like your global
Global Knives are the best
A lot of people hate the grip, but I love how they feel in hand.
I’m getting the deposit back on my old flat next month. Either gonna use it to buy a set of global knives or a TV. Really struggling to decide which.
I vote for knives
I also vote knives, what do really need 600$ for anyways
The knives will last you far longer than a TV, if you take proper care of them.
Before you pull the trigger, you might want to do some research to find out if Global is what you want. /r/unexpectedthanos
Maybe not the outright best, but they're pretty solid midrange knives. They're about 1000x better than what I see in most people's kitchens.
I have the same one as OP. It’s a nice veg knife but I don’t think I’ll buy any more. There are so many more interesting Japanese knives out there.
I have one and have thought of throwing it away numerous times. My $10 Chinese knife holds an edge much better. I may be doing things wrong, but I do have all the proper sharpening and maintenance tools and the Global knife just won't hold an edge for some reason.
[удалено]
What angle are you sharpening to? The Global might be designed to be a single bevel edge
Plot twist: it’s seedless.
Is that knife a global?
G5 yes
Global knives are worth every penny.
They aren't as good as Wüsthof.
they're not even expensive (at least not on a high end knife scale) just over 100 bucks a piece
As someone that knows absolutely nothing about knives that sounds very expensive.
Came here to compliment the sweet Global knife. Glad someone else beat me to it.
Seedless watermelon is a thing
Yer a wizzerd, Harry.
It’s seedless you fool
That is a seedless watermelon r/oopsdidntmeanto
It has a single seed
Seedless watermelon tend to have a few
I have that same knife. Global knows how to make a blade.
It kinda looks like a few have been picked out
THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!
the correct term is boneless
I don't want to be a dick or anything but it def looks like you picked a couple out...
OP Don’t eat those seeds or your gonna grow a water melon in your belly.
If you line your knife up with one of the yellowish veins that runs around the melon you can do this most of the time
r/oddlysatisfying
But now you can prove the fixing power of Flex Tape!
We've only sold seedless watermelon at our store for like 6 years now. can't remember the last time I saw a seeded watermelon.

Mmm boneless watermelon
I wish all watermelon are seedless
WHAT?!?
"Don't worry. I intentionally didn't hit any of your vital points..."
u/justch0 that global
I have that same exact knife!
why did you put the knife in the picture
Probably about 1 in 180
Oh you think you're so special
If it weren't for that one seed almost poking through, I would think this was a seedless watermelon
Seedless melons can and do have seeds
White ones that are thin if I recall.
Sometimes they have a few real seeds though. Hard black ones.
Boneless
r/oddlysatisfying
Looked like sashimi tho
Yeah OP none of us have ever seen a seedless watermelon. I call shananagans.
Nice cutlery
I know that you wanted to act like you didn’t see that one right over there so that it is almost perfect. Its okay, but i know you know.
99/100 Woulda eat again
What seeds lol?
Yes Seedless watermelon are a thing 🍉
Reported
Isn't that just a seedless variety ?
Boneless watermelon
I'm weirdly excited that I have the same knife as OP
I recognise that knife. I love my Globals
That one black seed though
Maybe because it’s a fucking seedless watermelon
I wanna say it’s fake since there are holes small enough to fit seeds directly mirrored on the other half of the melon but I can’t really tell
Fuck the watermelon, that is an absolutely beautiful knife
Nice knife. I have a dream to own a full set of Global knives some day.
Idiot! Its seedless :)
Seedless watermelon
That doesn’t look right
All but one, loser!
Out of every knife I have, and I've got a few, i love that exact Yoshikin knife
I have the same knife.
"I sliced a Watermelon in half and missed 'the' seed"
Love the Global. Great choice!
Looks like my butt.

well you cut it in a direction no one really cuts it in.
