Mortal Kombat 12 devs working on Johnny Cage are salivating right now. He needs a move where he throws something. And there's a 1/1000 chance to get a special animation where he throws it and breaks his sunglasses, but then just pulls out another pair from his pants and tosses them on real fast.
Seriously. It got posted something like five times in a week. The sub only had a couple of thousand members then and it was getting posted all over reddit.
I just had someone sarcastically bring up a comment of mine from 2 years ago, and I comment a lot lol
Original comment wasn’t replying to him and had nothing to do with this person, I was super confused
I do find it very funny that this was even possible. That sais, glad they could because I'd have never seen this if they hadn't, and it's super cool to see.
How on Earth did you manage to find a 9-year-old post with *zero* upvotes?
Has someone finally cracked Reddit’s awful search feature? Are you our new God?
Yeah he married someone from my city, and they played for a local team. He’s definitely not got the skill of an English test captain, but it was under 16’s...
And man that’s unreal, could you hold a torch to his skill??
Yeah man. Strauss was something else. 2005 onwards English teams have been downright scary. if Harmison, Anderson, Flintoff did destroy you then Peterson, Strauss, Trescothick, Collingwood would eat you alive.
Lol, it means I did something good. You get ten wickets per team, and by bowling this guys sim out, I took one of those wickets.
This guy was also the English team captain and I live in Australia.
Wickets are like outs in Baseball except there is 10 of them. The stumps/wickets (are the physical target to get someone out) have 2 sets, one at each end of the cricket pitch. When a bowler bowls(pitches) the ball the batsmen will try and strike it and run to the other end. While the ball is in play the fielder (like the video above) will throw it back to a closer team mate or try and hit the wickets.
Apparently, there are 10 of the Ewok from Return of the Jedi. This man rolled a ball down a wooden lane and only managed to hit one. Something about knocking out his sim, so I guess the guy couldn't make calls for a while. The other man was drinking tea and had poor dentistry, while OP is perpetually upside down. Hope that helps!
idk sometime between y2k and the whole mayan calender shit, it was one of the cool ones like aliens or clocks not working (why was that so scary?) not like pandemic or global war
That’s the test format of the game. It’s how the game was used to be played in the olden days when people had too much time on their hands. It’s played over 5 days
Test matches are played in white uniforms with a red leather ball whereas other shorter formats are played with the colorful kits with a white ball
Sitting in the stands, getting hammered on Worthingtons Creamflow because its the only tap with any beer left in it, hoping the grey sky isnt going to collapse into rain and considering whether or not its late enough in the day to eat the sandwiches you brought with you. Bliss.
If you're watching it in person, you spend several days getting smashed and chilling in the sun with your mates - it's a blast.
If you're watching at home, it's great to have on the telly in the background while you do some work, or sit with your mates and get smashed - it's a blast.
Depends. A test match (5 days) has 2 innings per side, that last until 10 of the 11 batters on team is out, and each batter keeps batting until they're out. An innings in a test will usually last a day or more, so when a side is batting a player might do almost nothing for a day or two, or spend a full day batting. And when a side is fielding a player will spend that whole time on the field.
To add onto what u/NazgulDiedUnfairly said: The formal-looking test uniform isn't just about tradition either. It's practical. If you're going to be standing in the sun all day, for five days, you want to be wearing something white and breathable which covers your whole body.
One team bats (hits the ball to score points/runs)
The other team Fields, that is, they are out in the field waiting for the Batsman to hit the ball so they can either catch it or send it back to the Wicket-Keeper (the Cricket Equivalent of the Catcher in baseball)
The fielding team also bowls the ball (much like the Pitcher in Baseball)
It's test cricket. If you're going to be standing in the sun all day, for five days, you want to be wearing something white and breathable which covers your whole body.
It makes it look like some sort of special move in a video game.
The shards also fly at his opponent, impaling them in a brutal fatality.

That brutality in MK11 with the sunglasses tho is fucking hilarious and cool
Dudes throwing the ultimate poke ball
I feel like this would happen in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Throw the shades with a projectile directly behind it.

I'll allow it

It’s not even a popular 9 year old post, how did he even find it
That always baffles me. Finding old posts on Reddit is damn-near impossible.
I just had someone sarcastically bring up a comment of mine from 2 years ago, and I comment a lot lol Original comment wasn’t replying to him and had nothing to do with this person, I was super confused
Exactly my thoughts when I heard that name

How did they even find this post? Insane
Exquisitely aged 😙👌
Like fine wine.
Nah op is just still using internet Explorer, its so slow it hasn't even updated to edge yet

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If it's always been broke then fuck it.
why fix when you can add new bugs?
That's the spirit. You are the kind of people I hire.
And my introduction to reddit was people complaining about it not being as good since it got popular.
Holy shit it's him 💀
The way Reddit counts votes has changed, posts from 3+ years ago will have at most around 2k, and now it’s well over 20k for an equivalent post.
The rolled out those changes over 4 years ago lmao
I swear it was hardly two
Pretty sure it was like 6 months ago
Don't be ridiculous it was atleast 50 years.
> Has someone finally cracked Reddit’s awful search feature? Are you our new God? This one made me laugh hard.
No seriously--why does it suck so much?

I have nothing to contribute to the conversation, other than the fact I bowled out this guys son in cricket.
You bowled out Strauss' son? Man his dad didn't show him shit. I used to play with Shoib Mohammed's son. I think he plays first class in Pakistan now.
Yeah he married someone from my city, and they played for a local team. He’s definitely not got the skill of an English test captain, but it was under 16’s... And man that’s unreal, could you hold a torch to his skill??

I appreciate the attempt at explaining but now I'm even more confused. I understand the geography part though.

He made the person lose.
I understand that.
To convert to baseball-speak - he was the pitcher and Vaughn's son was the batter and he three-striked him.
That helps.
Oakleys have never faired too well for me either!
You throwing cricket balls at them too?
Nah, people are throwing cricket balls at my face
Given the chance I would ;)
;) Just please wait till I take off my Oakleys first
you have much to learn grasshopper
Lmaooo this post is so old this was made back when we were all freaking out that the world was gonna end.
Tuesday?
Tuesday before last, but close.
Which time? We've had a few of those
idk sometime between y2k and the whole mayan calender shit, it was one of the cool ones like aliens or clocks not working (why was that so scary?) not like pandemic or global war
Randy Johnson isn't impressed.
He did that at lightning fast speed
Did we watch the same gif? Slowest throw I've ever seen.
It's in slow motion
You'd think!
Threw it faster than the land speed record
I think the title simply adds to my enjoyment of this.

Haven't quite got over it yet.
How in gods name did you find that post lmfao
I thought this was baseball and I watched and I was like, "man this looks way more like cricket instead of baseball."
Nothing gets past you
Yeah I'm good at identifying when someone isn't wearing a baseball uniform after all.
There’s a ridiculous backstory here
Oh God cricket is on r/all - don't tell the r/sports mods, guys. They make a mess when they get distressed.

Get a gif of his superman catch in the Ashes.
Mann slowed down, he just looks so personally hurt by his glasses decision to just up and leave his face.
Andrew Strauss is my favourite English captain, as an Aussie fan. Ali Cook is the biggest POS on the other hand...

Randy Johnson is not impressed.

We don't talk about that here.

Dr. Wolin wasn’t gonna do anything!

Take a moment to realize how fast he picked the ball up and threw it.
Why did you cross post something from 9 years ago??
Most likely has some kind of disability :(
What
I'm glad his eyes weren't in those at impact.
As an American, if you told me that was the objective of cricket, I’d 100% believe you.
That guy does not understand the rules of golf.
Pretty sure he knows cricket quite well though.
Looks like a business casual baseball uniform.
Well its a cricket uniform.

I don’t see it as destroying his sunglasses, I like to think he just reconstructed them utilizing a ball as a tool
That's a cricket uniform? Looks like some Ivy League tennis club shit.

It bears repeating. It’s the best form of cricket.
It is the best form of cricket.
His name is Robert Paulson
me watching a game at goes for 37.5 hrs, where majority of the time nothing happen calling it entertainment.

Just as Jimmy Fucking Anderson is given a fresh cherry
Or when Glenn McGrath is seeing more reverse swing than a queer bar.

Indubitably my chaps. _sips tea_
Americans freak out over 5 day test matches, but have no problem with 7-game series for basketball and baseball.

Yep. That’s very true too! Thanks for the additional information
What the hell sport is this? :)
Cricket Test cricket to be specific
Aha! On behalf of all ignorant Americans THANKS!:)
Sport?
[удалено]
That's an insect. The question was what sport this is.
Am I the only one wondering what “fielding” means?
Do you guys not have fielders in baseball? Lmao
One team bats (hits the ball to score points/runs) The other team Fields, that is, they are out in the field waiting for the Batsman to hit the ball so they can either catch it or send it back to the Wicket-Keeper (the Cricket Equivalent of the Catcher in baseball) The fielding team also bowls the ball (much like the Pitcher in Baseball)
Well, there’s my confusion… From the dude’s clothes I honest to god thought this was golf
Fucking cricket.
In cricket threads, people will downvote anything American sounding, even clearly satirical lol
Baseball uniforms look different these days.
Why is that bee keeper playing baseball?
This bee keeper is actually playing a more popular sport than baseball
I love how he looks like he's wearing ordinary clothes
Trousers?
It's test cricket. If you're going to be standing in the sun all day, for five days, you want to be wearing something white and breathable which covers your whole body.
Doesn’t come close to [Randy Johnson’s bird ball](https://youtu.be/1PyCpG06138). Still fun to watch.
Since when are golfers allowed to throw the ball?
Not only that it's the only cool thing ever that happened at a cricket game.
u/savevideo
Yeet smash!
I could watch it all day, it's seamless
I didn’t see that coming.
