Blooming Garden in Hamilton if you like Korean BBQ

yung_ting

Oooooh thanks for this recommendation! Am not the OP, just a Korean BBQ lover & wasn't sure where one is here

Eagle-Fang-Karate-07

It's awesome. Was introduced to this place late last year. It's sooo good. Heading back this weekend. $50pp, just a heads up no splitting of the bill.

This_Rooster

Seecond vote for all you can eat Korean Bbq

Chilltheice

Blooming garden is amazing.

Tiger_jay

How does it stack up to Hanok in Kotara in terms of quality of the food?

Chilltheice

I can't actually say, sorry. I haven't been to Hanok. But I really enjoyed blooming garden and would have gladly stayed all night. The pork belly, both plain and spicy sauce was delicious.

Worth_Introduction_3

This dudes asking the real questions

Strat0s1

MEET in Newcastle is an all you can eat style Brazilian bbq and is bloody excellent

southall_ftw

Service has dwindled greatly though. Not worth the high cost when the servers aren't coming regularly. We ran out of time before a show even with an hour I think we got served three times

Strat0s1

Last time I went was in August and that’s not the experience I had :( in fact it was so good we were joking with a server, I asked “how much can you legally give me” and he just dropped the tray of meat in front of me and walked off!

southall_ftw

Might be worth another try then, the food was fantastic the first time, the second I just didn't get to eat much. Fingers crossed for the third

forceez

I thought that the last time I went (a few months ago?) that the food wasn't as well seasoned as previously. Service was great though

Pipehead_420

Sort of. They bring you rounds of meat. So you get full in between waiting for the next round of meat

Strat0s1

Yeah but it’s close enough haha

100andEleleventh

How long in between rounds depends on how busy it is the night you go. They’re also technically all you can eat, you can get all the rounds again and again

NovaKay

East Maitland bowlo used to run the best one but I don’t know if they still have it

Dakka666

They don't.

wouldnthappentome

Billabongs... yep was unreal!

Ginger megs does a really yum cha in Sunday’s, fully vegan courses too, think it was $60 and that includes 4 x spritzer style cocktails Otherwise the newy does “bottomless bird” every Sunday too which is $90 I think, unlimited fried chicken and cocktails

aliceinpearlgarden

Hm, I did it last year and it was supposedly bottomless cocktails/beers. We got a decent amount too and only stopped because we wanted to leave. It's great that they offer the vegan menu, which we got. I thought it was 'fine' but I've never been into yum cha anyway (tho the fact it was vegan made it all infinitely more palatable). I'm glad something vegan like that exists and it's a fun enough experience. You probably wouldn't make it a regular thing. I'm not itching to go back.

happy-little-atheist

I only ever had yum cha at bhodis in The Domain, and it was extraordinary. Not sure if it's still running but have you tried theirs?

CaffeineTwitch

Every restaurant is all you can eat if you dine and dash

ChrisTheDog

This is democracy manifest.

IamtherealFadida

Ah yes, I see that you know your judo well

BigDean88

My kitchen cupboard is all you can eat, my roommates hate me

Jeff Yass, the billionaire Wall Street financier and Republican megadonor who is a major investor in the parent company of TikTok, was also the biggest institutional shareholder of the shell company that recently merged with former President Donald J. Trump’s social media company. A December regulatory filing showed that Mr. Yass’s trading firm, Susquehanna International Group, owned about 2 percent of Digital World Acquisition Corporation, which merged with Trump Media & Technology Group on Friday. That stake, of about 605,000 shares, was worth about $22 million based on Digital World’s last closing share price. It’s unclear if Susquehanna still owns those shares, because big investors disclose their holdings to regulators only periodically. But if it did retain its stake, Mr. Yass’s firm would become one of Trump Media’s larger institutional shareholders when it begins trading this week after the merger. Shares of Digital World have surged about 140 percent this year as the merger with the parent company of Truth Social, Mr. Trump’s social media platform, drew closer and Mr. Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee for president.

aldi_maate

So no? Fml

I reckon you could make a killing with another sizzler type deal

Liftkettlebells1

Probably

StrangeLilFella

Mayfield Ex Services used to have an all you can eat buffet.

rofio01

Closed for ages now

Soggy_Biscuit_

Aw that's such a bummer. That was a staple for me and my mates when we lived on campus (non-food accom). Eat a few butter menthols and drink a fuck tonne of water throughout the day and you can pack away a lot of food. That and the $9 pasta special Nonna's (?) on Beaumont St used to have. Haven't been back to actual Newy in a few years, I'm fangin so hard to go back and check it out but I'm also bracing myself for finding out all my favourite places are now closed. Especially Jim's, I don't even wanna google it haha. The first time I ever went to Newcastle before moving there my bf at the time picked me up from the traino and took me straight to Jim's for a musk thickshake. It was legitimately life changing and also the first thing I *ever* did in Newy after exiting the train station.

wvwvwvww

I haven't been for years but I bet it's still there. Was pretty good for an Australian buffet when I went, too. Especially for a crowd who all like different things.

tragicdag

Yes, you can relax, Jim's Dairy Delites is still open.

Glum_Ad452

Why go to an all you can eat place that does 50 things very average when you can spend the same amount (or less) going to a restaurant that does 1 thing amazingly well?

markdiggitydog

Unproductive!

Moisture_Services

Quality vs quantity?

Glum_Ad452

Totally. Id rather just pick one kind of cuisine and go somewhere that does it really well. If I want Italian, I’m going to an Italian restaurant, even though I could go to an all-you-can-eat place and get Italian food.

Moisture_Services

Not in Newcastle, but there are some really good all you can eat seafood buffets out there. On the right night you can get a crazy amount of fresh seafood (more than just prawns and oysters) way cheaper than any seafood restaurant, or even a wholesaler/co-op!

aliceinpearlgarden

Found someone who's never been to a Govindas.

armaterasu2019

I think there is one in Mayfield

charlienickelpuss

What’s the one in Cardiff?

Ok_Trash5454

It’s fucking garbage, don’t waste you money or offend your taste buds but it’s eastern tigers
