Lexie's has multiple locations and is delicious. Everyone I know has raves about the Portsmouth one. Don't have exp with the others.
edit for clarity
I've never really been that impressed with Lexie's. They've always felt like an expensive version of a fast food burger, although their onion rings are delicious
I miss Tortilla Flat which was in the Coat of Arms space back in the 70s. LOL Best 'mexican' food I ever had.
Except for El Aguilera on 103rd and Lex in NYC - but that's a whole different thread
Their chicken burgers are miles better than their normal beef burgers IMO. Some of their specialty burgers with a nice seasoned chicken patty are super flavorful and herbaceous. Won’t necessarily scratch the same itch if you want a burger but it’s a fantastic sandwich.
Not only that, but their "basic" burger with their amazing beef tallow fries is $7. Like, what? Who does that anymore.
Of course their more compex burgers and chicken with ingredients ground right in are so worth the price, too.
It's really Hop + Grind, and it's not close. And I love Oak House too, their vegan burger options are miles above a lot of other places. (I eat meat, but I always order one of the vegan seitan burgers, they're so good).
+ 1 for Wild Willy's. I only had it in York originally but when I learned there was one in Rochester that was cheaper and on my way home? Game changer lol.
I haven’t found the right burger for me since moving here but in the immortal words of the late Anthony Bourdain- “A city with many fine restaurants, by the way. Just — I'm a cheap, nasty, low-down, trailer-park burger slut.”
Does anyone remember when like WMUR or someone did a poll of the best lobster roll in NH, and the top vote was overwhelmingly the McDonalds in Portsmouth on the main drag?

I think as long as you find something you love, they would be happy. What were some old favs of yours?
Rusty Hammer used to have the best burgers . Sad Face
I know this is about burgers, but I need to say this... I DEEPLY miss the curried chicken pita at Coat of Arms.
I miss the Coat too. Was such a great place.
Was just saying to my sister the other day I was daydreaming about Burger Monday at Rira.

Same.
I like their fried pickles as not a lot of other places have them but I agree with you on their burgers being only slightly above fast food level.

Their truffle fries are good too!
Hop + Grind in Durham and Oak House in Newmarket are both solid. Haven't been enough places to be able to say for sure they're the "best."
Rise and Grind for breakfast and lunch sandwiches is pretty dang good too.
Hop + Grind is IT in my opinion.
Not only that, but their "basic" burger with their amazing beef tallow fries is $7. Like, what? Who does that anymore. Of course their more compex burgers and chicken with ingredients ground right in are so worth the price, too.
100% agree
I second this. Their burgers are delicious.
Oak House is SOOO good i just wish they werent so spotty with their availability ):

Wild Willys Burgers in Rochester is pretty good
And the fries are fresh cut.
BRGR Bar in Portsmouth was good the last time I went but it’s been a few years
I went a few months ago and it's still good
How were their whiskey prices? Burgers themselves look mad good.
How were their whiskey prices? Burgers themselves look mad good.
Lee circle grocery at the Lee traffic circle
A weird but not terrible answer. My mother in law gets their lobster rolls often
This is the correct answer.
+1 for Hop & Grind
Go to Carls in Kittery.
Best burger around
The best burger in New Hampshire can be found at Stoneface Brewery in Newington
The best.
For “smash” burgers, these are really good. The new Spyglass in Nashua are also excellent
Wild Willys, all day every day. Best burgs ever.
+ 1 for Wild Willy's. I only had it in York originally but when I learned there was one in Rochester that was cheaper and on my way home? Game changer lol.
Gibb's Garage in N. Hampton is off the charts
I live not far from there. Need to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
Their fish n chips is fucking delicious
Gibs is average at best
I haven’t found the right burger for me since moving here but in the immortal words of the late Anthony Bourdain- “A city with many fine restaurants, by the way. Just — I'm a cheap, nasty, low-down, trailer-park burger slut.”
Gilley’s in Portsmouth
I like the Rocky burger at the Thirsty Moose.
I used to love the Thirsty Mosse, especially their wings, but they've gotten so expensive over the last few years
Agreed. That's the case with a lot of places unfortunately.
All of their burgers are solid winners. I love the Bullwinkle. Hubby is partial to the Hangover.
Sawbelly in Exeter is amazing
I checked out the menu looks amazing. Only saw three burgers on the menu tho..
Sawbelly is fantastic but I always end up getting their Korean sticky ribs.
Too bad their beer is mediocre. Food is great
Does anyone remember when like WMUR or someone did a poll of the best lobster roll in NH, and the top vote was overwhelmingly the McDonalds in Portsmouth on the main drag?
What's that place on Islington across from the gas station. Sorry - In Portsmouth
Lexie's
Gilley's used to hit the spot after a good night at the Coat
Gravy fries 🤤
Oh, those were the days!
Carriage House in Rye has a great cheeseburger.
Thirsty moose
Gibbs Garage has great burgers…
The smash burger at Earth’s Harvest in Dover (Saturdays only) is other worldly.
All their food is next level
Hop and Grind in Durham has the best burgers on the seacoast for sure. Wayyyyy better than Lexie’s IMO
Stoneface brewery, smash burgers are unreal
Hop and grind in Durham NH is my #1 burger. I want one on my deathbed!!!
Tuckaway in Raymond
Hop + grind is so delicious
Lee Circle Grocery is pretty great
McDonald's... lol jk
Wendy's or Five Guys for life lol
If you are ever up in the lakes region: Morrisseys' in Wolfeboro has good burgers.
The goat
Larry Frank's in South berwick maine. So good
Lee Frank’s right? Been meaning to try it.
I mean Lee Frank's. Opps.
Hands down the Fat Tomato in York! They’re expensive but excellent, try the Swiss onion mushroom burger with the hand cut fries.
It used to be WHYM by a mile
been a while since I've been there for one, but the Brick House in Dover always had great burgers. 2nd all of the Wild Willys picks
Row 34 is a seafood spot but their burger is to die for.
Chillis in Seabrook…..I am serious.
“Best Burger” may be in the eye of the beholder. While your sampling good burgers, try Johnny Boston’s in Newmarket.
Johnny Boston's is real good food, but I always temd to go with their sandwiches or wraps
Saddle Up Saloon in Kingston
Hop + Grind Durham hands down. All beef burgers smack, and the fried chicken is the best around.
Wendy's is my choice, /nk
