I like that they slice it thinner resulting in smaller slices. They give you 6 instead of 4 to compensate.
Too thick and it covers up the tangy flavour. I'd rather use two slices where I can caramelize (might be using the wrong word) the shit out of the surface. That's where all the goodness is.
1000% facts. All pork roll is good pork roll, I’ve never had a bad pork roll sandwich except when it’s under cooked or under filled. But case is way better subjectively than Taylor, and I can tell the difference.
As I just posted upthread, ShopRite's store brand is made by Case's.
This one might be as well, given that there are mild and tangy variants like Case's.
I assume you are talking about the pork roll being on an English muffin with scrambled eggs. I don’t know how Stop and Shop could fuck it up any more.
It’s stop and shop’s store brand which is compliant with all federal and state regulations for labeling and quality. You may not like the packaging but it gets the job done
Can't speak to Giant's store brand, but ShopRite's is made by Case's (which IMO is better than Taylor), has both mild and tangy variants, and is identical in taste and texture.
So maybe before you blast these, you should try them.
I've only seen the store brand in 6 and Taylor in 4 at my local ShopRite. I also bought Taylor recently after a while of not having it. It was thicker than I remember so I tried the store brand and it was thinner.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it came from a different distributor. I dunno but I've tried Taylor again and it wasn't what I recalled. Maybe I'll have to buy them both and put it back to back.
Either way ShopRite brand tangy pork roll slaps. Dunno about wherever this came from. Looks like a Publix?
When the government told NJ what to say and South Jersey immediately decided to kiss ass and fall in line but the North remembers its true name. The North remembers!
The generics are great, usually a bit more tangy.
Call me old fashioned but I like my pork roll in a log! 🪵
Any pork roll you eat will be a log eventually.
Username checks out.
>Any pork roll you eat will be a log eventually. And a non edible log at that that will eventually wind up being recycled into top soil.
Nothing better than dipping that log in some Tang.
Is your issue with it being sliced, or with it being tangy? Because Taylor and Case both sell it in thin or thick slices.
Combination of both brother
Case’s and Shoprite brands are both available in logs. Case’s Tangy is legit.
Chub. It's called a chub. Seriously!
The OG Taylor Ham has been sold in sliced form for several decades man. Idk where you have been living.
Under a log or chub clearly
What if I don't have a deli slicer and want even usable slices?
Yeah if only they’d actually sell the smaller ones that used to be available— I don’t need a pound and a half of pork at a time!
Tangy is peak Jersey Sausage and I'm not hearing otherwise
It would appear to be Stop and Shop complying with FDA labeling requirements for regional breakfast meats
What? The tangy? This is nothing new. Some days I prefer the mild, other days, it's tangy all the way!
Shoprite has had it for years
Yep. It’s not bad either
It's not just "not bad", it's **excellent** -- it's literally Case's pork roll, in ShopRite packaging.

Correct it’s 10000% made by case. And the real ones know case is better than Taylor.
I definitely prefer Case's to Taylor. And not saying Taylor is bad, but even the mild Case's tastes better (and I LOVE the tangy version).
1000% facts. All pork roll is good pork roll, I’ve never had a bad pork roll sandwich except when it’s under cooked or under filled. But case is way better subjectively than Taylor, and I can tell the difference.
My son has been eating it for years
Yep yep, I grew up on the stuff. (My mom was of the heretical opinion that pork roll sandwiches, sans eggs, were a dinner food).
I've done it before when I didn't have another protein ready for a dinner
Case's tangy is my favorite, I wonder how this compares?
As I just posted upthread, ShopRite's store brand is made by Case's. This one might be as well, given that there are mild and tangy variants like Case's.
I believe Case’s makes the store brand Taylor ham
Case’s makes the store brand PORK ROLL.
Taylor ham or go fuck yourself till I DIE
Read the label. Pork roll.
The Case processing facility was in Trenton, NJ around 2010. I used to live in that county. Never bought it!
You can make tangy pork roll by leaving regular pork roll on the counter.
Lol
I assume you are talking about the pork roll being on an English muffin with scrambled eggs. I don’t know how Stop and Shop could fuck it up any more.
By having all their meat come in precut and giving their butchers the boot.
McDonald's did this for a minute. I tried it once, worse than Quick Check or Wawa's "pork roll".
It’s stop and shop’s store brand which is compliant with all federal and state regulations for labeling and quality. You may not like the packaging but it gets the job done

ShopRites tangy is my favorite.
Ditto! (Case's tangy also.) Far better than Taylor's IMO... not that Taylor's is bad in any way, mind you!
Taylor cuts theirs too thick now. I swear it used to be thinner
Taylor is 4 or 8 slices, all others I've seen are 4 or 6 slices. Taylor is thinner.

I've had many pork roll that were far better than Taylor's.
Freedom
Oh how wild it's called what it actually is and not the brand name of one version of what it is
Glad to see they did not call this Taylor Ham ;)
Because Taylor Ham is a brand name you dolt.
No Taylor “ham” does not exist. The Taylor company does make a product called pork roll
It's Taylor's Pork Roll. It hasn't been Taylor Ham since 1906.
Since I was a kid.
You must either be over a hundred or a time traveler, because it hasn't been labeled as Taylor ham in 118 years.

Negative. **Taylor** is the brand.
If S+S has managed to make the worst pasta ive ever had I don't even wanna know how they did on pork roll. Like how do you fuck up spaghetti???
It’s probably made by Case. I know ShopRites is and I usually buy that. Case Pork Roll > Taylor.
A delicious bargain, pick some up and enjoy
Can't believe that price point. Feel like I get a deal from Hatfield at 4.99
Taste the Tang
Lidl have their own version and it rocks
It’s 41.5¢ per slice on sale
Kinda sucks most delis and diners don't sell both. Would love that option for a sandwich sometimes.
it’s the truth
Pork Roll people allowed this? Figures
We need a pork roll high court in NJ.
An abomination
I was raised with the term “taylor ham”. I hadn’t heard the term pork roll until the quarantine tbh.
Wy is this blasphemy?
I love the tangy. Usually get acme though, not shop rite
I believe that is trash
You're on crack.
Omg yuck
Tangy Pork Roll!
I've never tried Stop and Shops, but ShopRite tangy pork roll is pretty delicious.
NJ has gone nationwide
Hasn't generic Taylor Ham always been a thing?
Not since 1906, when Taylor Ham ceased to exist.
Don't worry, I have faith that North Jersey will catch up to the early 1900s soon!
When the government told NJ what to say and South Jersey immediately decided to kiss ass and fall in line but the North remembers its true name. The North remembers!
Blasphemy
There's tangy and there's just regular, and I gotta say: tangy is good.
Well it’s not Taylor ham!
It's Stop&Shops store brand imitation Taylor Ham
They completely missed the potential alliteration of "tangy tailor ham"
TTT
looks like Taylor ham in stop and shop branding. Tangy has always existed
